We often focus on what other people think of us, looking to the left or to the right for approval. But what other people think of us is not what matters; what the Father thinks of us is what matters.

Bob closes out our last series of the semester by talking about how we can love our neighbors like Jesus does. We focus on the parable of the Good Samaritan and how we can live likewise.

King Jesus lived a life of power and authority, but it came through dependence on the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the very people he came to save. If we want to become more like Christ, it doesn’t come through independence like we often think. To be like Christ, we must learn to depend on God and the community around us.

Forgiveness can be a challenging thing, yet it is something that the Lord asks of everyone who follows Him. In this message, we will talk about the practicals of forgiveness, and how as we realize how the Father has forgiven us, it makes it possible—with His help—to forgive both the big and the small.

This week at Wesley was week 3 of the ‘Things I Wish I Knew When I was 22’ message series. Bob spoke on having God’s heart towards money, encouraging us to shift our attitude from owning to stewarding the wealth God graciously entrusts to us. 

This week at Wesley, Bob continued the ‘Things I Wish I Knew When I was 22’ series by teaching on several practical keys to following God into the future He has for you.

This week at Wesley was week 1 of the new ‘Things I Wish I Knew When I was 22’ message series. Bob spoke from Pr4:23 on the importance of guarding our hearts.

God’s Presence is constant in our lives. He is there in our going out and coming in. In our rising and our lying down. He is with us all the time, even during the night. And during the night, He gives us sleep and speaks to us through dreams. 

Jehovah Shammah —> The Lord is With Us. His promise is to work through all things to lead us into the best He has for our lives. He does the heavy lifting. Our part is to simply believe and follow.

Jehovah Shalom —> The Lord is our Peace. We position ourselves to receive and live in that peace as we live out our true identity as sons and daughters of God.

Jehovah Rapha —> The Lord is our Healer. Medical science is His gift to us. But, Jehovah Rapha always reserves the right to go far beyond what doctors can do.

Jehovah Jireh —> The Lord is our Provider. Everything we need to live out the best He has for us, He will provide. The right thing, always at the right time.

Bob teaches on the compound name ‘Jehovah-Tsidkenu’ which means ‘The Lord is my Righteousness.’ Because Jesus is our righteousness, righteousness is received and not achieved. Thus, no one is ever too far gone to be saved, we can live free from condemnation, and we can be delivered from perfectionism.

We started off the JEHOVAH series with a message about Jehovah-Nissi - ‘The Lord is our Banner.’ As Jehovah Nissi, the Lord fights for us and enables us to win battles we could never win in our own strength.

Bob teaches about the Lord’s willingness to help us forgive those who have hurt and wronged us, in order to deliver us from the bitterness and resentment that will otherwise weigh us down.

It's okay to not be okay. But, it's not okay to stay that way. Tonight, Bob shares that for many of us, our life circumstances have made it hard for us to be okay. But, now that we know the Lord Jesus, the Truth of who He is and how He's redeemed us to live, it's not okay that we stay that way. God never calls us to come and stay as we are, but always to come and become as He is.Join us as we celebrate baptisms and remember the baptisms of some of our students!

Bob talks about how the Lord wants to restore our trust in His oversight of our lives, in order to deliver us from the anxieties and fears that so often weigh us down.

This Wednesday, we're beginning a new series called ‘The Man of God: Lessons From a Life Well Lived.' It’s based on key events from the life of Elijah, a very anointed Old Testament prophet. This week, we’re talking about dealing with our idols and stepping out in faith to follow the Lord into what He has for us in life.

Jesus modeled for us how to live a life that expressed both the love of the Father and the power of the Holy Spirit. He said that those who believe in Him would receive power when the Holy Spirit came on them, so they could be His witnesses. That reality is not supposed to only be experienced by a few, but for everyone living in the Kingdom of God.

In this week’s message, Bob shares that when we are born again, we are infused with the Spirit and power of God which is given to transform every aspect of our heart, mind, and living, making us, over time, more and more Christlike.

In this week’s message Bob shares that at the very heart of the gospel is Jesus’ statement ‘You must be born again.’ With that, he explains what the new birth is, how it happens, and how we can live with the assurance that we have truly been born again.

In our first message of the semester, Bob talked about asking God to give us the wisdom to live now for the things that one day we will wish we had lived for.

Philippians 2:3-11 shows us the model of Jesus through His humility. The way of the world is selfishness, pride, insecurity, and hypocrisy, but the way of Jesus is honesty, humility, and selflessness. We get to confess and repent to become humble people following the model of Christ.

God so loved the world that He came to be with His people. But He didn't come to be with His people for their sake only. God comes to live with and love His people for the sake of others.

What is God like? What are the attributes that make Him, Him? Exodus 34:6-7 is a passage that has been shaping the Church’s understanding of His character throughout history. Why are we still talking about this today? What we believe about God will shape who we become.

God is generous in nature and He has invited us to be like Him in that. When we give sacrificially to the things of God, we partner with His plan to restore all things. Sacrificial generosity is a cost of following Jesus with eternal rewards.

Jesus said that we will know the truth and the truth will set us free. So what's true when it comes to anxiety? What's true when it comes to pornography? Let's get free and live abundantly.

Hannah talks about how we can apply the wisdom found in Romans 12:2 to our relationships with social media and other ways we can often be tempted. This wisdom keeps us from being formed into the image of the world and helps us pursue being formed into the likeness of Jesus.

In this message, Bob teaches from Matthew’s gospel how Jesus’ ministry consisted of preaching, teaching, healing and deliverance, and that He sent His followers out to do the same.

When we get “saved”, we get brought into right relationship with God. Being in right relationship with Him makes us His children. Being His children makes each of us part of His family. Each of us being part of His family makes us family together.

This week, we had the honor of welcoming Hope Heals author, speaker, and stroke survivor, Kathryn Wolf to speak to us. Listen and be encouraged as Kathryn shares what she's learned about how we have much greater capacity to do hard things than we think.

In tonight’s message, Bob talks about what God thinks about material success and how we can pursue that in a way that actually blesses us and others.

Everyone experiences some level or hurt from being part of the Church. Knowing the root cause of that hurt can help us experience what the Holy Spirit has for us in the midst of it. Jesus, if you love the church, so will I.

In tonight’s message Bob talks about the nature of the marriage covenant - that God sees it as something far more sacred than we often do.

In eternity, there will be nothing left to pray for, but Jesus teaches us to pray now, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” Our lives are meant to be formed by prayer, asking God to come and interrupt our reality with His.

Paul writes in 2 Timothy of ‘finishing the race.’ Because he has finished the race, there’s a heavenly crown that awaits him. He would tell us that it does no good to start the race, unless we finish it. In this message, Bob talks about keys to always staying willing to take our next step in Christ, no matter how hard the season we’re in.

To live in the light of eternity is to live now for what will matter then.

We can pray with faith and believe God for the impossible because the power of the Holy Spirit lives within us.
