Era of Men - Dating Men: Is It Embarrassing? Pt 2

Does having Boyfriend = Embarrassing? That’s the question Chante Joseph posed in her Vogue article but the piece itself doesn’t live up to the title. SouleQueen and Madnyx sit down with Hyacinth to talk about why the article feels grammatically off, hard to read, and why it misses the mark on what the title promises. We break down what Chante is trying to say, how the message gets lost in the writing, and how the article still went viral despite not fully delivering on its main idea.

In this final part of our Love Island breakdown, we dive into the season finale and everything that came after. We kick things off with the ultimate couple the Vancarthens (aka Orlandra and Nic) and share our hopes that their relationship stays strong despite all the noise from fans and the internet. We also unpack the weird obsession with knowing every detail of celebrities’ personal lives, and how taking their brand too far can sometimes backfire. From there, Madnyx shares thoughts on how the season wrapped up, telling Soulqueen, how everything led us to this wild ending. It’s been a crazy yall, but we’ve finally made it.

Love Island Chaos: Pt 2 Huda, Jeramie & the Reality of Toxic Love

Part 2 of the Love Island madness! Madnyx tells Soulqueen about the aftermath of the drama with Jeramie, Huda’s “Heart Rate” challenge, and how she still doesn’t see that she is the bully and the problem—from trying to take her own friends’ men to causing a divide, yet still playing the so-called victim. Somehow, she hasn’t been kicked off the show, even though it’s clear she’s the one causing chaos. On top of that, we dive into all the drama between the guys and girls during this time. Stay tuned for the reunion, Ace’s interview breakdown, and how it really shows that, as a Black woman in this world, there’s often no one in your corner. We also talk about the anti-Blackness that runs deep in this show—and in the fanbase around Huda and others.

Love Island Chaos: Huda, Jeramie & the Reality of Toxic Love

Unapologetic Energy, MadNyx gives SoulQueen the rundown on the messy villa vibes of Love Island. From Huda’s whirlwind relationship with Jeramie to the red flags of control, manipulation, and straight-up narcissism — we’re unpacking it all.We talk about how Huda’s behavior showed not just toxicity, but also shades of anti-Blackness, and why her and Jeramie’s relationship was doomed from the jump. (Y’all, they only knew each other for a week ).Reality TV might be entertaining, but it also reflects real-life patterns of unhealthy love, possessiveness, and emotional messiness. And trust — neither Huda nor Jeramie are coming out of this looking okay.Press play. Stay real. Be unapologetic.

Stanning or Silencing? Celebrity Culture, Fandoms & Anti-Blackness in Music

MadNyx & SoulQueen get real about celebrity culture and the messy ways it plays out in the music industry. From Nicki Minaj to Azealia Banks, we talk about how some artists treat other Black women in music — and how their fans often ignore or excuse harmful behavior. We also dig into the blissful ignorance of fandoms, the constant pushing of certain artists while others are sidelined, and the uncomfortable truth about how anti-Blackness can hide beneath the glitter of stan culture. If you’ve ever side-eyed a fan war on Twitter, or wondered why “protecting your fave” sometimes means silencing Black women, this one’s for you. Press play. Stay real. Be unapologetic.

Zombies, Love Island, and Real-Life Struggles: A Little Life Update

In this chill catch-up episode, we’re talking everything from post-apocalyptic chaos in The Walking Dead and The Last of Us, to why Nyx can’t stand most characters—but is somehow loving Berleezy’s gameplay. We also get into reality TV (yes, Love Island), and how seeing Black women on screen is the only reason we’re tuning in. Between school, car trouble, and just trying to stay afloat, the world is doing the most—but we’re here to laugh through it, vent a little, and share what’s been keeping us sane (or driving us crazy). It’s messy, it’s honest, it’s us.

Two Truths: Solidarity, Separation, and the Weight of Expectation

In this episode, we dive into the complex intersections between the recent events in Los Angeles and broader dynamics between Black communities and other communities of color. We talk about the visible fractures in solidarity, the understandable frustrations within Black communities, and the problematic assumption that Black people are always expected to lead or save every movement. This conversation holds space for the uncomfortable truth that two things can be true at once: some Black folks are expressing pain in ways that may harm others, and at the same time, many POC have long dismissed or disrespected Black struggles—only to now turn and ask for unconditional support. We unpack how real unity demands accountability, self-determination, and respect—not entitlement. It’s not about tit-for-tat politics, but about recognizing that no group is a monolith and that none of this justifies racism or harm in any direction.

Scooby-Doo and the Study Group from Hell – Part 2: The Mask Comes Off

It’s been a minute, but we’re back — and it’s time to finish the story... or at least the next chapter. In Part 2 of our series, Me and Madnyx return to unpack the real fallout: what went down with Daphne, the group chat with the wildly inappropriate name, and the casual anti-Blackness that could no longer be ignored. We talk about Daphne’s "secret" crush on “Hotdog Water” (yes, that Hotdog Water from Part 1), the lies she told, and how she created an unsafe space — especially for the only two Black people in the group. From harmful comments to being called out and doubling down, this episode covers how Daphne’s actions (and inactions) helped crack the group dynamic. We also dive into the moment Madnyx and Tintin confronted her directly, and how the truth couldn’t stay masked any longer. And we’re not done yet.Stay tuned for Part 3, where we talk about the total collapse the group implosion, who ghosted, who stayed silent, and what it taught us about community, race, and walking away.

Scooby-Doo and the Study Group from Hell – Part 1: The Mystery Begins

In this first part of a raw and reflective two-part series, Me and Madnyx take it back to October 2024 — the beginning of what seemed like a promising academic alliance. Think Scooby-Doo meets group projects, only the ghosts are real and they show up as microaggressions and unchecked anti-Blackness. Using the iconic mystery gang as cover characters, we dive into the formation of a diverse-but-not-really study group where things started off cool… until they didn’t. This episode unpacks how it all began: the good vibes, the quiet red flags, and the subtle shifts that started pulling everything apart.Stay tuned for Part 2, where the masks come off, and the truth gets harder to ignore.

Wildcat Chaos, Part Two – Sharpay Deserved Better and So Did We

In Part Two of our High School Musical rewatch and rewrite series, we dig into the second movie and all the wild contradictions it gave us—like how did Troy’s supposedly lower middle-class family afford that nice of a house?! We pitch our dream episodic series between HSM 2 and HSM 3, filling in the gaps Disney skipped. Chad and Ryan’s relationship takes center stage as they go from flirty baseball rivals to full-on couple, while Troy starts realizing that chasing clout costs him his best friends. We break down the overlooked plot holes, drop more chaos, and reimagine a series that makes sense and gives everyone the depth they deserve. This episode is about rewriting the narrative—because the Wildcats deserved better...and so did we.

  13. 10

Wildcat Chaos, Part One – Breaking Free from the Script

In this first part of our deep dive into High School Musical, we unpack the drama behind the drama. Is Troy Bolton really the hero, or actually the problem? We explore why Chad and Ryan were clearly meant to be, how the original characters lacked real depth, and how fanfic gave us the better ships we deserved. We also imagine how we’d rewrite HSM 1 & 2 including a version where Chad finds his own identity outside of being Troy’s sidekick and fully steps into his own spotlight. Plus, we introduce some juicy new chaos from our original character, Madnyx, who shakes things up at East High in all the right ways. This is just Part One...so get ready for a wild ride!

Mini Reboots: When Creativity Gets Cancelled

Nyx and Soul dive into the rise of reboots—and the fall of original storytelling. In this episode, we break down how Hollywood keeps reviving old shows and movies instead of creating something new, often stripping away what made the originals so special in the first place. We talk about how reboots can mess with character identities, erase meaningful community representation, and push aside fresh ideas. Plus, we call out the shows that were wrongfully canceled (we’re looking at you, Inside Job, Julie and the Phantoms, and Dead Boy Detectives) just to make room for watered-down reboots no one asked for. It’s giving frustration, nostalgia, and some real talk on what we want to see more of in media. Tune in and let’s unpack it.

  16. 7

    Angle Friends breakdown Pt 1

In this episode, Soul takes Nyx (and all of us) on a trip down memory lane with one of her childhood faves—the chaotic, dramatic, and kinda wild 2010 animated show Angel’s Friends. We get into the star-crossed romance between angel Raf and devil Sulfus, the highs and lows of the early episodes, and how this show somehow managed to be good in some moments… and unhinged in others. If you’ve never heard of Angel’s Friends or if you watched it religiously after school, either way, this is for you. Come for the nostalgia, stay for the commentary.

  17. 6

    Are We All Not Humans?

In this episode, we get real about how mainstream media often strips marginalized communities of their voices—and even their humanity. We explore how stories are taken, twisted, and told through a lens that benefits the powerful, while erasing the lived experiences of the people actually affected. We also dive into society’s obsession with glorifying serial killers, corporations, and other harmful figures, all while the families of victims are forced to relive their trauma in the name of entertainment or profit. Why do we humanize the wrong people and dehumanize those just trying to exist? Let’s talk about it.

  18. 5

Kpop The Dark Side of Kpop: Sasaengs, Idols & Culture

In this episode, Nyx puts Soul on to the darker side of the Kpop world—sasaengs, the obsessive fans who cross boundaries and put idols through serious emotional and physical stress. We talk about how this toxic side of fandom affects artists, their mental health, and the industry as a whole. We also share our own experiences with Kpop—how Nyx got into it, the groups we vibe with, our first K-dramas, and those early days of watching anime and K-dramas on YouTube. Yeah, we definitely get a little off topic in the beginning (as usual), but we also dive into the differences between celebrity culture in America vs South Korea, and how fame looks so different depending on where you are in the world.Whether you're a longtime fan or just curious, this episode has something for you. Tune in and let’s talk about it

  19. 4

Era of Men: Passport Bros & the Toxic Side of Dating

In this episode, Soul and Nyx dive into a deep convo about a growing trend—Passport Bros. These are men who travel abroad claiming to find "better" women, often in low-income countries like Thailand, because they feel rejected or entitled in their home country. We unpack the harmful roots of this movement, including how they’ve twisted the term incel—a word originally created by a woman to describe involuntary celibacy for all people—and turned it into something dark and misogynistic. We talk about how these men exploit vulnerable women overseas and the toxic environments that can grow from these imbalanced relationships. We also switch it up and show love to Black TV shows, media, and how representation matters in shaping our views on relationships, identity, and culture. This one's heavy, real, and necessary. Tap in.

  20. 3

    Minority Housewives Pt. 2

We’re back with Part 2 of Minority Housewives! Soul, Nyx, TinTin, and Kora dive even deeper into the realities of college life and being Black and POC women just trying to make it in America. In this episode, we open up about the school shooting that happened at our college—how it shook our campus and how it made us reflect on safety, mental health, and what it really means to be a student in today’s world. 🕊️We also talk about the disappointment in how the college represents its city (or doesn’t), the poor living conditions in the dorms, the lack of meaningful events, and just the overall struggle to feel seen and supported. Mix that with the pressure of surviving as young women of color in a system that wasn’t built for us? Yeah, we unpack all of it.It’s raw, real, and necessary. Thanks for holding space with us.
