Sacrifice of Praise
Send us Fan MailWe bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord…if you are like me, this song might as well been up there with The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow…both heard to ad nauseum and both equally annoying. But when I realized praise is not about my feelings or circumstances its about Him, it changes things. Perhaps Job said it best in 42:5 AMPC “I had heard of You [only] by the hearing of the ear, but now my [spiritual] eye sees You.”

Am I Still Your God?
Send us Fan MailComforting words mean the world to us, especially when we need to hear them. But, what if God doesn’t offer comforting words but a soul searching question. “Am I Still Your God?”

The Gethsemane Experience
Send us Fan MailI heard an interview with Kathy Troccoli where she said God writes our story, we just gotta catch up to it. The catching up to it process is not easy. In fact it can be a living hell for a while. Catching up will mean giving up things that are hindering our walk whether it slows us down or blocks the road altogether. When we get to the place of ultimate surrender to Christ, that’s when we are free.

The Whosoevers
Send us Fan MailSometimes we need to be reminded that we were once a whosoever. The Gospel is for everyone, regardless of their past, their name, skin color, economic status or any other dividing issue. Jesus is still in the life changing business and we either work for Him, or against Him.

Defeating Strongholds
Send us Fan MailA little leaven works through the whole batch of dough…I’m just taking You-Know Who at His Word…I don’t care that You-Know-Who has 99% and I only have 1% of someone’s heart, I’ll just keep kneading their thoughts, with guilt, and shame, and condemnation…A little leaven works through the whole batch of dough…-The Devil’s Diary, Bobby Price.

Poison of Unforgiveness
Send us Fan MailUnforgiveness in and of itself is poison. When unforgiveness is directed toward others it’s bad enough, but what about when it’s directed inward?Unforgiveness is a choice and while we think we are punishing the other person or punishing ourselves, the reality is we are usurping God’s standards and authority. It didn’t work out for Lucifer, it won’t work out for us either.

The Rock
Send us Fan MailMatthew 7:24-2524 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. I realize as I get older I spent many years chasing or holding onto the familiarity of the past because it was safe and comfortable. I have also found that as I get older, the only safety and stability I have is in Jesus. While things change, the Lord does not, He alone is our firm foundation.

Does God Always Deliver
Send us Fan MailPsalm 34:18 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.I have read this verse a lot, even recited it in prayer many times and yet, even recently I would wonder why did such and such happen and why didn’t God stop this from happening? Then I would get angry and get discouraged and stop praying. It wasn’t until recently that I learned there are different types of deliverance not just the Red Sea experience. Sometimes He calms the StormSometimes He calms His Child

Spiritual Warfare
Send us Fan MailFor years the movie industry has capitalized on subjects regarding Spiritual Warfare which has left us even the Christian population somewhat desensitized and often dismissing spiritual warfare with a “get over it” attitude. While we may not see all the special effects of movies like the Exorcist or The Conjuring franchise, demonic influence works in more subtle ways.As Christians we have a choice, either put up with it or take our Christ given authority over it. Which do you choose?

Seedtime & Harvest
Send us Fan MailGalatians 6:7….for whatever a man soweth he shall also reap. This almost sounds like a threat but it really isn’t. The principle is very simple. But how many times have we made choices in action and speech that are opposite of our desired outcomes? Well…

Jesus Said There’ll Be Days Like This
Send us Fan MailYes I got that title from the song but it is true, even though Jesus didn’t say it quite like the song but the idea is there in John 16:33. Listen for the rest of the story….

Keeping the Oil Lamps Full
Send us Fan MailThe current zeitgeist is darkness, uncertainty, and fear. We do not know what the next hour will bring let alone the next day. But God is still God and nothing catches Him by surprise. He was there in the beginning, He is with us now, and is already in the future. Keep your oil lamp full.

Precious Savior Still Our Refuge
Send us Fan MailIn my college days, if you heard something repeated during a lecture that’s a signal to to pay attention because it’s important information that would show up later on a quiz or exam. In Matthew 6:25-34, that’s 9 short verses, Jesus repeated the phrase Do Not Worry three times. Yet we still neglect this information which is really a command. If you have time to worry, you have time to pray.

Because He Lives
Send us Fan MailToday we celebrate the Resurrection of our living Savior and soon coming King Jesus. Colossians 3:2 instructs us to keep our minds on the things above which includes seeking God’s will for our lives while we are still on this earth. The days are getting shorter, we need to make everyone one of these days count for Christ.

Impossible Never Stopped Him
Send us Fan MailThings can look as barren as Ozark winters dead, no signs of life or or hope of being able to bounce back from what knocked you down. You are not alone in this rationale. Mary (Jesus’) mother, Mary Magdalene, and John along with the rest of the disciples thought things were pretty grim as well. Then the third day came and the, all changed. Jesus is alive and we will see Him face to face someday. In the meantime, He is still in the business of changing lives and this doesn’t stop at salvation, but every aspect of our lives.

Hold Your Way
Send us Fan MailIsaiah 40:30-31 talks about how even the youth will grow weary but those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…Life can certainly feel like a marathon, other times it seems stagnant either way, it takes strength to get through it. Job 17:9 also talks about how the righteous shall hold their way…Psalm 36:25 talks about the righteous not being forsaken nor begging for bread. The common theme here is God does not abandon His children, take comfort and rejoice in this.

Do I Really Have To?
Send us Fan MailJesus Loves People, we know that and we amuse ourselves by telling those difficult people “Jesus Loves You” and the more obnoxious and offensive they are, the more enjoyment we get. However we forget one thing, John 23:34-35 (ESV) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. (The NIV uses the word must)Christ gave a commandment, it’s a law and it’s not negotiable. So what about the people that make it hard to love? All this and more on today’s mini episode.

The Lazarus Effect
Send us Fan MailDelay hurts, not only that it causes doubt and confusion, even depression and anger toward ourselves, the situation and even to God. We know God can fix it so why didn’t He? I’ve asked this question a lot but we are not alone. Mary and Martha had the same sentiments when Lazarus died. Jesus was not unaware of their emotions and was moved with emotion as well. God always sees the bigger picture, we only see the immediate. God will move and does not turn a deaf ear to the cries of His children.

Serpents and Doves
Send us Fan MailHow much news is too much news? While it’s important to know what’s going on in the world around us, we must remember there is a fine line between being informed and being consumed. The news may tell you the what, but the Bible will always tell the why. Matthew 10:16 shows that Jesus knew what the world was like therefore instructing us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

Submission To Those In Authority
Send us Fan MailSubmission is not a popular term in today’s society. I have to admit, I don’t like the term myself, especially when when those in authority are acting in ungodly ways. But we as Christians are instructed to submit to those in authority over us as states in Romans 13:1-7. All the while, we are not to forget that we, even the ones in authority over us are all under the subject of God’s authority and all will answer accordingly. Take a listen to this episode and as I said I will include the link to my email which is [email protected].

Protecting Your Spiritual Health
Send us Fan MailJesus loves people and is kind, gracious, and compassionate. However, Jesus also set boundaries and did not tolerate any form of evil and we should learn from His examples. What is evil? Anything that is a threat to our relationship with Christ. We have authority over these things through Christ and it’s time we start using it.

Servanthood
Send us Fan MailThese days it’s easy to get tunnel vision and bogged down with the cares of our daily lives. We feel it’s all we can do to keep ourselves afloat and sane let alone serve others. Yet as Christians, this is what we are instructed and required to do. So how do we balance this? Take a listen for some insight and encouragement.

No Sympathy For The Devil
Send us Fan MailPleased to meet you hope you guessed my name…The Devil Made Me Do It …Oh really now. . Sometimes we give too much credit to the demonic, sometimes not enough. This episode is an introduction into spiritual warfare, possession, and influence what it is and what it isn’t and what that means for us as Christians. Kick back and enjoy and don’t mind my singing.

Jonah and Just Desserts
Send us Fan MailIf we are honest, we love the idea of seeing people get what what they deserve. If we are transparent, we do not like the idea that God’s patience and compassion extends to those we deem undeserving while forgetting the times we too were undeserving. There a lot to learn about ourselves through the book of Jonah.

To Church or Not To Church…
Send us Fan MailThis episode tackles the question of church attendance. In light of modern technology, is regular in-person church attendance really a requirement? Is it all about us or all about Him? How do modern views of the church contrast with Christ’s view of the church? Main Scripture Refrences:Ephesians 5:29-32, scripture tells us that Christ views the church with a high sacrificial love using the illustration of how a husband loves his bride..1 Corinthians 12:12-24 uses the term The Body of Christ which indicates a living spiritual entity in which Christ is the head, the members are believers of His body which also brings out the fact that the church should always seek dependence on Christ alone.Matthew 16:18 Jesus describes the church built upon Him as the rock that shall not be destroyed.Revelation 3:17, Christ acknowledges the flaws, by using “naked” or “blind” state yet still sees the church as a beautiful gathering of broken people who have been redeemed often described as a mosaic held together by grace.John 17 is known as the High Priestly Prayer of Jesus. Jesus prayed for his immediate disciples as well as for all future believers. Contained in that prayer was Jesus’ call for Unity among believers because it serves as a testimony to the world. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 19:7 talks about Christ Returning for His Bride.

Hello, It's Me
Send us Fan MailHello, It's Me is the very first episode of Unfiltered with Jessie B. In this particular episode Jessie will highlight the importance of allowing God's presence in our lives by not only recognizing Him as God but also as Father and Friend.
