1. The Good Shepherd’s love is the ultimate example of self-sacrificing agape (ἀγάπη) love. (11-14)2. The Good Shepherd’s love is deep, is personal, is intimate, and is available to the world. 1. We need to listen for the Shepherd’s voice. a. The voice of Jesus will never be inconsistent with His Word. b. The voice of Jesus will call us toward Him, not away from Him. c. The voice of Jesus becomes clearer the more we follow Him.2. Jesus alone can give sight, and it changes everything.3. By hearing and following Jesus’ voice, we will have abundant life.

Jesus causes division.Jesus’ words of life can be overwhelming.Those that reject Christ often target Christ’s followers with their scorn.

Everyone has an opinion about Jesus, but not everyone believes in Him.Jesus does not, and will not conform to our will, we must submit to His.We all have a thirst that can only be quenched by Jesus.

1. Our generosity should be intentional, willing, and cheerful. (6-7)2. God will give you what you need for you to be able to do what He has called you to do.  (8-10)3. 1. Paul’s contentment was learned through life’s ups and downs, not found in changing circumstances. (10-14)-We can’t base our contentment on what we have, we have to base our contentment on Christ’s provision.-Be teachable! In all life’s ups and downs, ask yourself, “How has the Lord provided for me in this season?”2. The Philippians’ generosity is a mark of spiritual maturity and an act of worship. (15-18)3. Both contentment and generosity flow from confidence in God’s faithful provision. (19-20)

Our faith must rest in Jesus—not just in what He can do for us (vv. 43–45).Faith trusts even when it can’t see the whole picture (vv. 46–50).When we exercise our faith, it grows  (vv. 51–54).

When we meet Jesus, our priorities shift from our glory to His glory. (vv 27-30)Doing what God calls us to do fuels us to keep going. Jesus was intentional about His ministry.  (vv 1-6)Jesus embraced the awkward - He was no respecter of social boundaries. (vv 7-9)Jesus focused on the woman’s spiritual need. (v10)Jesus focused on the true satisfaction that only He can offer. (vv 13-14)

1. Our salvation was initiated by God in offering us His marvelous grace.2. God’s offer of eternal life is polarizing. We are condemned, or forgiven; we have eternal life, or we don’t; we are in Christ, or we are not - based on our belief and trust in Him.3. The Light of Life reveals what we really love.

Being born again has nothing to do with our position in society. Being born again has nothing to do with our religious achievements.Being born again has everything to do with having a repentant heart that is surrendered to the Holy Spirit.

Jesus opposes that which opposes the glory of God.We are the temple of God, and we must be sure that our hearts are cleansed of those things that oppose God’s glory.

A life without Christ is a life without true joy.A life with Christ is filled with abundant joy.The power of Christ’s glory is transformational.

Witnessing for Christ is grounded in a relationship with Christ. (35-39) Witnessing for Christ can be as simple as an invitation to “Come and see.” (40-46) Witnessing for Christ can lead to transformational encounters with Jesus. (47-51)

What About John the Baptist?He is not the Christ. (19-21)He is the way preparer of Isaiah 40. (22-28)He identifies the Agnus Dei (the Lamb of God). (29-34)

How Do We Experience the Fullness of Christ?1. Through the fullness of His dwelling among us.2. Through the fullness of never-ending grace.3. Through the fullness of the revelation of the Father

1. The testimony of John the Baptist demands that we make a choice about Jesus. 2. Just as John the Baptist was, Christians today are also to be witnesses of the true Light that has come into the world. 3. Not all come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. 4. Those who do receive the Lord Jesus, become His adopted children, born again by the will of God. 1. John was written that we might believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and be saved. 2. Jesus is the Word of God, God’s exact expression, through which God reveals Himself to the world. To say that Jesus is the Word, is to say that Jesus is God. 3. In Christ there is eternal life, and in Him we can know the Truth - He is the Truth. **Around the 18:30-19:00 mark, Pastor Adam talks about how many stars there are. It may be interpreted that he is saying that Scripture supports that there are a certain number of stars when he says"that's how many stars there are." This was not the intention, the intention was anecdotal. A better way to put it would have been to say, "that's how many stars some scientists think there are." All we can know about how many stars there are is that they are likely innumerable by human means according to Genesis 15:5. In hindsight, it would have been better to mention that scripture and say something like "however many there are, He created all of them."

1. The Resurrection is a reminder that God keeps His Word! 2. The Resurrection brings pure joy! 3. The Resurrection beckons us to come and see, then go and tell!

1. Jesus’ thirst was a fulfillment of prophecy. 2. Jesus’ thirst showed that He can understand our sufferings. 3. The atonement had been accomplished. 4. The most important moment in the history of the world had been accomplished.

1. Jesus' forgiveness knows no bounds. 2. Christ remembers those that the world forgets.3. We are reminded of the destination of the Christian at the time of their death.

Based on the faithfulness of God, we have a choice to make.1. The reality of the choice- We will worship someone or something.2. The seriousness of the choice- This is not a choice to be made lightly.3. The result of the choice- We will be held accountable.

1. We can boldly claim the promises of God.2. Ingratitude towards God’s gifts leads to laziness, which leads to disobedience.
