The Podcaster Becomes the Guest: Fitness, Business, Addiction & Real Change
When the Podcaster Becomes the Guest: Going All In on Fitness, Business and Real Change This episode is a little different. Instead of Gordon Brodecki interviewing someone else, the microphone gets turned around—and Gordon becomes the guest. In this honest and wide-ranging conversation, Gordon shares what nearly 28 years in the fitness industry and 14 years of running Garage Fitness have taught him about business, coaching, discipline and creating lasting change. Gordon explains why his business began growing when he stopped spreading himself across too many ideas and went all in on what he does best: helping people transform their health through one-on-one training, small-group training and personalized coaching. He also discusses: Why clarity and focus can change your business How he built his own clientele while still working for a commercial gym The importance of knowing your value Why loyalty matters more than maximizing every dollar How networking, marketing and word of mouth helped grow Garage Fitness Why the best fitness program must fit your schedule, personality and lifestyle How accountability helps build confidence Why real change has to begin internally The truth about detox products and fitness misinformation GLP-1 medications, protein intake and sustainable weight loss Caffeine, creatine and being cautious with supplements His personal experience overcoming kratom dependence Why stepping outside your comfort zone can change your life This episode is about much more than workouts. It is a conversation about entrepreneurship, addiction, confidence, personal responsibility, coaching and becoming the person you know you are capable of becoming. The Humble Millionaire: Building Wealth, Surviving Failure & Using AI to Win with Gualter Amarelo
EPISODE DESCRIPTION What does it really take to become a millionaire—and what happens when success humbles you? On this episode of Unleash the Ultimate You: Change Your Mindset, Change Your Body, Gordon Brodecki sits down with longtime friend Gualter Amarelo—real estate investor, multifamily operator, best-selling author, founder of Alchemist Nation, and host of the Alchemist Nation Podcast. Gualter has built a portfolio of more than 600 multifamily units valued at over $30 million and created a community focused on helping investors build passive income and generational wealth. But this conversation isn't just about how much money you can make. Gordon and Gualter get into what it actually takes to build wealth, why the first $100,000 can be the hardest, the difference between accumulating capital and deploying it, using leverage intelligently, private lending, return on equity, and why the right partnership can completely change someone's financial trajectory. Gualter also opens up about one of the most humiliating experiences of his life: spending three days in jail following problems at one of his properties. He explains how the experience forced him to take extreme ownership, improve his systems, become more connected to his tenants, and find out who was really in his corner when things went wrong. Then the conversation takes another turn. Gordon and Gualter dive into fitness, discipline, parenting, mindset, and how taking care of your body can influence the way you show up in business and life. They also go deep into artificial intelligence. Gualter explains how he's using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and multiple AI agents inside his businesses—from analyzing apartment conditions and creating work lists to finding documents, improving workflows, communicating with people, and reducing repetitive work. And Gualter gives one important warning: don't use AI just for the sake of using AI. Figure out what you're doing today that AI can actually take off your plate. The episode closes with one of the most powerful answers ever given to Gordon's signature question. Imagine yourself five years from now. What does your body look like? Your wealth? Your relationships? Your business? Your life? Then ask that future version of yourself: "What did I do to get here?" Bring those answers back to today—and start becoming that person now. IN THIS EPISODE: Why the first $100,000 can be the hardest money to build Gualter's journey from millionaire to multimillionaire Accumulating capital vs. deploying capital Why return on equity matters Using leverage to make existing assets work harder Gordon's HELOC and private-lending strategy Why you should do the deal you can do today How Gualter would approach rebuilding wealth The power of finding one repeatable investment strategy Why partnerships can accelerate wealth What you need to bring to the table before asking for a partner Why developing valuable skills creates opportunities Gualter's three days in jail and the lessons that followed Extreme ownership when your systems fail How adversity reveals who's really in your corner Why fitness helps Gualter perform in business Teaching children discipline, movement, and resilience Gualter's AI "council" ChatGPT vs. Claude vs. Gemini Using AI agents inside a real estate company AI hallucinations and the danger of blind agreement Creating better and less repetitive AI content Gualter's five-year exercise for changing your life Becoming your future self today CONNECT WITH GUALTER AMARELO: Website: gualteramarelo.com Alchemist Nation: alchemistnation.com Learn more about Gualter's work in real estate, investing, passive income, private lending, return on equity, and building generational wealth through Alchemist Nation. Though he started out as a shy introvert and art school kid who never imagined himself in business, he went on to launch his own advertising company in NYC, earn a black belt in Karate and Jujitsu, and ultimately become a top sales performer. Now considered one of LinkedIn's top influencers with over 30,000 connections, he uses that journey to help audiences build genuine, meaningful human connections. Short info about Steve: Steve Spiro, known as The Master Connector, is an inspirational keynote speaker, author, and recent TEDx speaker who helps organizations cut through digital noise to create real human connection. A former shy introvert who became a top sales performer and black-belt martial artist, Steve delivers high-impact keynotes that help sales professionals shift from transactional selling to transformational B2H (Business-to-Human) relationships, where trust, authenticity, and meaningful conversation drive predictable growth. How Steve is relevant for the marketplace today: As sales organizations and companies rapidly adopt AI to increase speed, scale, and efficiency, many are realizing that technology alone does not create trust, loyalty, or influence. Bringing in Steve Spiro, The Master Connector, gives teams the missing piece — the ability to pair powerful tools with genuine human connection so AI enhances conversations rather than replaces them. Through his journey from introverted sales professional to globally recognized relationship-builder, Steve shows organizations how to turn automation into opportunity, transactions into long-term relationships, and AI investments into real, measurable ROI driven by authentic influence. Speaking Topics: 1. Breaking Barriers to Create Real Connection in this Digital and AI-Driven World -- This digital world has better connected us and AI has made life easier but it has also created barriers. I speak about how to connect authentically and to be others focused to create more meaningful connections. I love inspiring introverts like me to get out of their comfort zone and connect more effectively. I also help sales professionals connect with the right people, to grow their business. 2. The Death of the Old-School Sales Rep: From Transactional to Transformational – This talk reframes sales from transactional pressure to transformational connection—focusing on trust, curiosity, storytelling, and consistent relationship-building in a B2H (Business-to-Human) world. 3. The Real AI: Authentic Influence As organizations race to adopt AI to move faster and scale smarter, many are overlooking the one advantage technology can't replace: genuine human connection. In this keynote, The Master Connector shows sales teams and leaders how to use AI as a powerful tool while mastering authentic influence to build trust, deepen relationships, and drive sustainable results in a digital-first world. 4. Leading with Heart. Leading with Heart is a powerful keynote that helps leaders rebuild trust, engagement, and loyalty at a time when burnout and disconnection are at an all-time high. Drawing from his journey as an introvert who built influence through authentic human connection, The Master Connector shows why today's most effective leaders aren't the loudest in the room, but the most present, others-focused, and emotionally intelligent—delivering practical strategies that strengthen culture, deepen relationships, and drive results without sacrificing performance. The Dark Side of 'Natural'—What No One Told You About Kratom Until Now
🎙️ UNLEASH THE ULTIMATE YOU: Change Your Mindset, Change Your Body I'd like to welcome everybody to another episode of Unleash the Ultimate You — where you change your mindset and change your body. Today I'm here with a good friend, and we're talking about something real… something a lot of people don't fully understand — kratom. What's interesting is… we both went through it, and we didn't even know the other person was dealing with it at the same time. This is one of those conversations that needs to be out there. 💬 The Conversation We both started using kratom for what we thought were "good reasons." For me, it was to cut back on alcohol. It was marketed as natural, safe, even helpful. At first, it felt great… calm, focused, even euphoric. But it didn't take long to realize something was off. If I didn't take it, I didn't feel normal. That's when it hit me… this wasn't harmless. ⚠️ The Reality Kratom works on the same receptors as opioids. And the effects? Shallow breathing Nausea Fatigue Loss of strength Emotional numbness Decreased sex drive Dependency And the withdrawal… That's where things get real. 🔥 Withdrawal Experience We're talking about: Restless legs that don't stop Cold sweats and hot flashes Anxiety and agitation No sleep for days Flu-like symptoms Mental fog and depression You feel like you're crawling out of your own skin. And the scary part? You can walk into a store and buy it like it's nothing. 🧠 The Deeper Truth Here's the truth most people won't say: You're not healing anything… You're masking it. I thought I was dealing with stress, emotions, even past experiences. But I wasn't. I was numbing it. And when I stopped… everything came back. 💪 How I Broke Free There was no easing off for me. I had to go all in. Cold turkey. And it was brutal. But here's what helped: Changing my environment Getting out of my normal routine Moving my body (even when I didn't want to) Drinking water constantly Using natural sleep support Talking about it instead of hiding it Facing the discomfort head-on I didn't run from the storm… I went straight through it. ⚡ The Shift After a few days, the physical symptoms eased. But mentally? That took time. Low motivation. No drive. Just… blah. But I forced myself to move anyway. That's where the breakthrough happens. 🔑 The Lesson If you're listening to this… Understand this: Anything that makes you feel amazing instantly… and then makes you feel terrible without it… is not your solution. It's your trap. 🧭 Final Thought This isn't just about kratom. It's about patterns. It's about what we use to escape instead of evolve. If you want to truly unleash the ultimate you, you don't avoid the hard moments… You go through them. That's where the growth is. 📞 Work With Me If this message hit home for you… if you're ready to take control of your body, your mindset, and your life… I can help you. Go to: GarageFitnessTrainer.com That's GarageFitnessTrainer.com You can schedule an appointment directly with me and start building the strongest version of yourself — physically and mentally. A major theme throughout the episode is the connection between internal and external change; exploring insecurity; identity; and why many people try to fix deeper issues through surface-level solutions. Chase emphasizes the importance of self-awareness; authenticity; and purpose; highlighting that real progress comes from doing the internal work; not just changing how you look on the outside. This episode is about more than fitness; it's about developing discipline; understanding yourself; and building a life rooted in consistency and long-term growth. Change Your Body. Welcome everybody to another episode of Unleash Your Ultimate You: Change Your Mindset, Change Your Body. Today, I'm doing something a little different. This is a solo episode. I've wanted to do a solo episode for a while now because I really wanted to dive in and give you practical tips—real, usable strategies—for health and fitness. And today, we're talking about New Year's resolutions. Yeah… the dreaded New Year's resolution. Most people make them. Most people don't follow through. And in the health and fitness industry, this is huge. January rolls around, gyms love it. Why? Because people sign up, pay their monthly membership… and then don't show up. That's great for the gym. Not so great for the person paying for it. They literally bank on you quitting. I want to flip that script. I want to help you stay consistent. The January Trap Here's what usually happens: You make the resolution. You're fired up. You've got the new shoes you got for Christmas. New workout outfit. New membership. You're posting on Facebook, Instagram—"I'm all in." Week one? You're on fire. You honestly think, "This is the time. This one's going to stick." Then… life happens. One little thing shows up that throws you off. Maybe it snows. Maybe you're tired. Maybe motivation drops. And by the way—motivation is overrated. Motivation is great in the beginning. Discipline and habits are what actually matter. Motivation fades—especially when you're on your own. So what do you do next? Fitness Has No Finish Line This is something I talk about early in my book. Fitness isn't about crushing massive goals right out of the gate. It's about building small habits. When clients come in, they're excited. They want to dive in hard. They also think there's a destination. There isn't. Fitness is like a relationship. You don't "finish" it. The goal is to build a healthy relationship—with your body, your mind, and your food. When those align, results follow. Even the way you talk to yourself matters. The First Habit: Just Show Up Here's the first thing I tell clients: Just show up. That's it. I don't even want more than 30 minutes. Walk on the treadmill. Do a few machines. It might be sloppy. That's fine. The goal is consistency, not perfection. So how do we make that easier? Make the Habit Obvious Small changes matter. Keep your gym shoes by the door Keep workout clothes in your car Extra water bottle in the car Extra headphones (lock them in the trunk) Remove friction. The easier you make it, the more likely it happens. "I Don't Have Time" You don't find time. You schedule it. Things that are planned happen more often than things that aren't. Write it down. "I am going to the gym tomorrow at 8:00 AM." Put it in your calendar. Your success rate jumps from maybe 30–40%… to 80% or higher. That's a massive difference. Nutrition: The Hard Part Most people struggle with food. Here's a simple rule: Remove temptation. Get the junk food out of your house. Not because food is evil—but because habits are powerful. Your brain doesn't know good habits from bad habits. It just wants what it's used to. So remove the trigger. But here's the key—you must replace it. You can't leave a void. That's how relapse happens. Parties, Social Events & Balance "But Gordon, I like parties." Good. You should. Here's the rule: Eat clean most days. Enjoy yourself at events. But take half of what you normally would. Same food. Smaller portions. That one habit alone works wonders over time. Stop Thinking Short-Term People overestimate what they can do in a short time and underestimate what they can do in a year. You don't get rich overnight. You don't get healthy overnight. Habits take time. Some say 21 days. Some say six months. What matters is repetition. Language Matters Let's change the words you use. Stop saying: "I can't" "I'm trying" "Trying" gives you an exit. Instead: "I am a lifter." "I eat healthy." "I train." Once you lift weights—you're a weightlifter. Identity drives behavior. Final Takeaways Show up Remove friction Remove temptation Replace bad habits Schedule success Use definitive language Small changes, repeated daily, compound into big results. That's how real change happens. Thanks for listening. I'll see you next week on Unleash Your Ultimate You. Change your mindset. Change your body.

Robby shares how trauma and environment shape your subconscious programming — and how you can rewrite that code through intention, consistency, and radical responsibility. This isn't surface-level motivation. It's about taking ownership of your internal narrative so your actions finally align with your goals. Together, they explore the intersection of neuroscience, personal growth, and spiritual alignment — giving listeners a blueprint to build unshakable discipline, confidence, and peace. By the end, you'll understand that transformation isn't about becoming someone new — it's about remembering who you were before the world told you who to be. ⏱️ Timestamped Outline 00:00 – 03:00 | The Power of Awareness Robby opens with how awareness is the first step to change — you can't fix what you don't face. They discuss the mental "autopilot" that most people live in and how to break out of it. 03:00 – 08:00 | Programming the Subconscious Mind They explore how early conditioning and limiting beliefs keep people stuck. Robby shares how he helps clients identify mental viruses and reframe their stories. 08:00 – 12:00 | Emotional Fitness Gordon and Robby dive into emotional regulation — how mastering emotions is more important than chasing motivation. They talk about tools like breathwork, journaling, and visualization. 12:00 – 16:00 | The Identity Shift Robby breaks down why goals fail without identity change. They unpack the psychology of self-image and how to act "as if" until it becomes who you are. 16:00 – 20:00 | Alignment and Action The episode closes with a conversation on living in alignment — where your habits, beliefs, and values finally match your mission. Robby leaves listeners with a challenge: act from your future self every day. 💬 Standout Quotes "Awareness is the ignition point of transformation — you can't change what you won't confront." "Your subconscious runs the show 95 percent of the time. If you don't program it on purpose, it'll run on old pain." "Emotional regulation is a superpower. When you master your emotions, you master your direction." "You don't get the life you want — you get the life that matches your identity." "The goal isn't to become someone else; it's to strip away everything that's not truly you." ⚔️ Final Message This episode is about warrior consciousness — building mental armor not to block emotion, but to channel it. Robby reminds us that the greatest battles aren't fought in the gym or the boardroom… they're fought in the mind. And once you master that battlefield, everything else falls into place. ROBBY D'ANGELO Bio The Mission The mission is to guide ambitious high-performing men through the critical years to avoid the fall and step into their power as UNDENIABLE leaders using his proven FORGE Framework. As a high-performance strategist, men's transformation coach, and serial entrepreneur, Robby dedicates his life to helping high-achieving men unlock their Faith Fueled potential to live with purpose, prosperity, power, and peace. The Man Behind the Mission Robby knows rock bottom intimately. He once weighed 300 pounds, built what looked like success on paper, but ended up homeless and broken. He chased every vice and sedation behavior while his true calling remained buried under layers of performance and empty accomplishment. The transformation came when he stopped running from God and started running toward His design for men. Robby rebuilt completely, developing multiple successful ventures while discovering the integration of peak performance science with biblical truth. A former athlete who shed 100 pounds, he embodies the grit and mindset shifts necessary for lasting change. Founder of Undeniable Men. Former All-American athlete. Serial entrepreneur. Award-winning mental optimization coach who only preaches what he's practiced. What Makes Him Different Most coaches wait for crisis. Robby catches men early who look successful but feel spiritually flat inside. These are men who provide for families but struggle to be present, who lead in business but lack clarity on their true mission. He catches them before the fall. His approach is preventative. He helps men avoid the prodigal years by building their foundation on biblical truth from the start. Through his award-winning coaching and the Undeniable Men movement, he combines a decade of peak performance strategies with battle-tested spiritual principles. Real Results Your Audience Craves "You need to write a book. You unleashed something in me, Robby." That's what a client told him after experiencing complete mental freedom and finally executing the vision trapped in his head for years. Robby's clients don't improve incrementally. They quantum leap. One founder is simultaneously gaining freedom from exhausting day-to-day operations while executing a strategy that will multiply revenue by four times over two years. Another client doubled business revenue in one year while transforming from fear-based thinking into a fulfilling relationship. The FORGE Framework Robby specializes in performance engineering through his signature FORGE Framework, targeting the silent crisis plaguing high-achievers: the absence of clarity and purpose that quietly robs men of true power. By power, he speaks of a man's capacity to turn thoughts into tangible outcomes, to channel vision into actual reality. This is where most high-performing men stall. Surrounded by the trappings of success but drained by an internal void, they find themselves running on empty, pulling more from grit than meaning. The FORGE Framework doesn't offer shallow slogans or empty motivation. Instead, it drills into the actual work—mental toughness, mindset mastery, energy and focus optimization, the science behind elite execution, and the cultivation of confidence that does not waver. Robby leads men to stop operating out of desperation for an identity and start leading from an immovable foundation. This shift breaks the exhausting cycle of constantly forcing results on borrowed strength. It awakens an undeniable power—fueling men to strip the governor from their lives and step into real power, real purpose, genuine prosperity, and the quiet force of inner peace. The process doesn't just end at personal breakthroughs. Robby equips men with the practical tools and skills needed for battle-tested leadership, wealth created through faith rather than ambition alone, and a legacy that outlasts them. All of this happens alongside a brotherhood relentless in support—a band of men who won't let their brothers fall into mediocrity or isolation. Here, a man finally finds what high performance was meant for. He gets the battle plan, the backing, and the brotherhood to execute it without compromise. Why Your Audience Needs This Message High-performers are waking up to the fact that mindset and inner work are performance multipliers. Men who used to mock personal development now hire coaches because they realize that's what separates good from great. Most high-performing men spin their wheels, working harder instead of smarter, feeling frustrated because they know they're capable of more. Robby gives them tools to tap into their natural, unlimited power and break through to their next level. Value for Your Show Robby delivers real conversations about faith, masculinity, and performance optimization that challenge modern norms and inspire action. He teaches that strong masculinity remains necessary for building strong families, businesses, and communities. The world needs men bold enough to lead. The Death of Comfort: Ryan Obernesser on Growth and Discipline
Episode 21 – Summary Ryan Obernesser comes in sharp, no wasted motion. He drives straight into what holds people back: comfort, excuses, and waiting for the "right" moment. His focus is on building power through structure — habits, discipline, and consistency that don't bend when motivation fades. He speaks to the grind of daily action, the repetition that forges strength, and the need to kill old patterns that keep men stuck. Leadership is a thread throughout: not titles or talk, but living the standard you demand from yourself and others. Ryan calls out the lies we tell ourselves — that it's not the time, that tomorrow is safer — and dismantles them one by one. His charge is blunt and unavoidable: step into discipline, lead with presence, and take action now. Episode 21 – Time-Stamped Outline 0:00 – 5:00 | Setting the Standard Ryan opens with urgency — calling out the excuses that keep people waiting for the "right time." Sets the tone: discipline over delay. 5:01 – 10:00 | The Trap of Comfort He strips down how comfort locks men into mediocrity. Comfort feels safe, but it kills growth and keeps you small. 10:01 – 15:00 | Building Through Structure Talks about the role of habits, repetition, and daily discipline in creating lasting strength. 15:01 – 20:00 | Leadership in Action Ryan lays into what leadership really means — not titles, not talk, but living the standard every day. 20:01 – End | The Call to Move He closes with the charge: cut the noise, stop waiting, and step into decisive action. Standout Quotes "Tomorrow is just another excuse dressed up as safety." "Comfort is the cage that men build for themselves." "You don't find strength, you earn it through repetition." "Leadership isn't given — it's lived, day after day." "Action is the only cure for hesitation." ⚡ Do you want me to now pull Ryan's exact words from the raw audio for these quotes (so they're literal, word-for-word), or keep them in this sharpened style for quick publishing? Beneath the "alpha entrepreneur" mask was someone entirely different. His True Self. His Purpose. His Calling. Ryan built The Lighthouse Leader™—a system designed to help high-performing entrepreneurs who feel stuck, burnt out, or lost… break free. Not with another tactic or funnel, but by reprogramming the identity that's been silently running the show. Revealing the Lighthouse Leader within. Ryan doesn't just see what you do—he sees YOU. "Doug Ferrier: Winners Quit? Why Letting Go is the Key to Real Growth"
Episode 19 Summary This episode is Doug stripped down, no polish. He dives straight into the grind—what it means to keep showing up when no one's clapping, when momentum feels like it's stalled out, when the only thing you've got left is discipline. He pushes hard on the truth: habits beat hype. You don't build anything lasting by chasing sparks; you build it by hammering out routine, brick by brick. He calls out the excuses, the stories we tell ourselves that make comfort sound noble. He pulls it back to leadership, the role of men in carving out clarity and direction, not just for business, but for family and life. There's edge in his words—if you're waiting for permission, you'll never move. Action is the permission. Doug doesn't float on theory; he drags it into practice. This episode hits like a blueprint: discipline first, structure second, purpose sharpened by repetition. It's a call to cut out the noise, tighten the circle, and move forward whether or not the crowd is watching. Episode 19 – Time-Stamped Outline 0:00 – 5:00 | Setting the Tone Doug opens sharp, calling out the grind of showing up when nobody's cheering. The danger of waiting for motivation. The anchor is discipline. 5:01 – 10:00 | Habits vs. Hype He strips back the myth of motivation. Habits are what hold the line when hype disappears. 10:01 – 15:00 | Leadership in Action He moves into the role of men—how leadership isn't just business, it's presence at home, with family, with yourself. 15:01 – 20:00 | Cutting Excuses Doug dismantles the stories people build to justify comfort. Comfort as a trap. Excuses as self-deception. 20:01 – 25:00 | Blueprint of Discipline Practical breakdown—routine, structure, repetition. No shortcuts, no hacks. 25:01 – End | Call to Action Closes hard—build structure, cut the noise, show up regardless of recognition. Standout Quotes "Momentum fades. Discipline stays." "You don't rise to the occasion. You sink to your habits." "If you need permission to lead, you'll be waiting forever. Your action is the permission." "Your excuses aren't noble. They're lies that keep you soft." "Purpose isn't discovered, it's built. Repetition forges it." "Nobody owes you applause. Show up anyway." ____________________________________________________________________ Doug Ferrier is a high-performance coach who helps business owners and leaders unlock the next level in both their personal and professional lives.
