Hi, I'm Christine, and this is my story. Unmuzzling myself through the medium of podcasting, I'll be sharing some stories and moments in my life that I have never shared with another soul before. Through the years of trauma, near death escapes, substance abuse, domestic violence, suicide attempts, the lot. When it's written down like that it sounds like a f*cking horror story. But the ending is not bleak! My life went through a 180 transformation. Meditation, journaling, mindfulness. It's never too late to change your path. Join me in rediscovering life at 67.

Unmuzzled Conversations - Season 2 Episode 5 - Glasgow's Love of Theatre
Perhaps not the theatre that you'd think of today. With it's ballet, and monologues, and Shakespearean dialogue. But instead, a wee bit of Billy Connelly, or cabaret singing. We used to go to the theatre for all sorts. Shite comedians, brilliant live bands, or performances from folk who were on the up-and-up such as Jimmi Hendrix or the Beatles. Tommy walks us through his memory of who he loved to watch growing up, as well as Christine and Stewart's impression on what the culture was like at the time. Unmuzzled the Next Chapter - Episode 2 - Notes For Sleeping
Trying to record a meditation practice for meditation was challenging. I'm not a meditation teacher! However, the general practices, principles and benefits of meditation usually bring you to a conclusion of sounder, deeper and better sleep! But it's important to continue this practice daily. Ten minutes set aside for you. Remember that this isn't going to be perfect to begin with. It may never actually be perfect! Thoughts are always going to creep in, you're always going to be slightly distracted. Especially in the beginning. Be kind to yourself, and enjoy the practice. Unmuzzled the Next Chapter - Episode 1 - This is Time Set Aside for You
A new meditation series! A break away from my hard-hitting life story, and into the hopefully tranquil world of meditation. I've spoken at length on meditation, to the point where you're maybe sick of me rattling on about it! But it's SO IMPORTANT! Everything I have learned, and experienced throughout my practice of meditation has been the catalyst required to build and maintain a calmer, more present life. It has changed me as a person to the core! This episode is if you have never meditated before, perfect. We will only try to meditate for 10 minutes, set this time aside for you. Don't be concerned or hard on yourself if you feel like you didn't get it right. Or if too many thoughts crept in. We're going to build on this and get more comfortable with meditation together. Unmuzzled at 67 - Series 3 Episode 9 - In Conclusion...
Well. That is a wrap, folks. A wrap on the initial Unmuzzled at 67 project! My story has been told, my soul has been bared. And my podcasting therapy is now over. I've shared with you all, some of the most intimate details of my life. Some stories that not another living soul had heard. Details that I no longer have any emotional attachment to, and some that I still find deeply embarrassing and traumatising. So my self-development journey hasn't stopped! But my life story and the journaling of my coping mechanisms have come to an end podcasting-wise. I have so many people to thank. But in general, I want to thank everyone who's listened and taken precious time out of their day to tune in and support every single week. This podcast has been a practice of reflection and understanding of myself. Getting things off my chest, and letting my story free into the world. There is much, much more to come from me. With two different series following this conclusion! Unmuzzled Conversations! And... Unmuzzled at 67 - The Next Chapter! So stay tuned, keep following the podcast, and tune in to the new series when they are available. Thank you all very much, it's been a pleasure to begin my podcasting journey! x YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@unmuzzledat67 Instagram: instagram.com/unmuzzledat67

Well, here it is! Nearing the end of the Unmuzzled at 67 series. I'm not ready to leave the building! But I'm not finished yet. There's one more episode of this season in the pipeline. Unmuzzled - Season 3 Episode 7 - ADHD
ADHD is a term thrown around a lot as of late. With more being known about the issue, I thought it useful to discuss the problems I've had with my symptoms for my entire life. I’ve had a tough battle with ADHD. Never paying too much attention to it. Until I done some research! And realised that I suffered many of the same symptoms. I’ve never been diagnosed. But now, I don’t think a diagnosis will benefit me. But I think it’s important to discuss what I do, to calm the symptoms, and keep me on the path of self improvement. Unmuzzled - Season 3 Episode 6 - Deep Dive
A deep yet brief dive into the idea and philosophy of the inner child. Your needs, triggers, and past experiences that your inner child went through. A lot of these things, may they be unmet needs, transform into trauma points in your future. They make you believe certain things about yourself. Develop negative affirmations. A broken inner child can lead to a self-confidence, and self-love rating of 0. So here's why I work, every day, on my inner child. It's not easy. And it's not comfortable. But it is rewarding, and some of the most important self-improvement that I do. YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@unmuzzledat67 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unmuzzledat67/

Unmuzzled at 67 - Season 3 Episode 5 - Therapy
Therapy is the conventional way of helping get a grip of yourself. But it's fucking expensive! I did have a brief fling with therapy. And it helped me uncover, and understand the initial traumas I faced when I was younger, but with the help of my own research and specific books, I turned away from therapy. It's pricey and isn't available to everyone. A psychiatrist has a waiting list that goes on for months and months. Instead, I focus on daily habits I've developed, that keep me aware of myself and my progress. YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@unmuzzledat67 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unmuzzledat67/

Unmuzzled - Season 3 Episode 4 - Inspirational Books - They Have Played Their Part
At a slightly different pace in this episode, we will cover some books that were pivotal to my reinvention. To calm me down. To understand myself. I say "some" because this episode could have been hours and hours long if we were to cover every influential book I've read during this period of my life. But here's the list of the books we cover in this week's episode. I implore you to pick some of them up but be warned, you might not be able to put them back down until you're finished! Books spoke about in this episode: How to stop worrying and start living by Dale Carnegie Can’t hurt me and Never finished by David Goggins Ego is the enemy by Ryan Holiday 10% happier by Dan Harris Self care for the real world by Nadia and Katie Narain Fighting for the Foreign Legion by Alex Lochrie Rogue heroes- the history of the SAS by Ben Macintyre Holy terror Andy Warhol close up by Bob Colacello Transformer the complete Lou Reed story by Victor Bockris YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@unmuzzledat67 Instgram: https://www.instagram.com/unmuzzledat67/

Unmuzzled - Season 3 Episode 3 - Self Confidence
Some key take aways on how self confidence allows you to act in the world. We build off of my tips of self awareness, meditation, and creating a ruthless moral inventory of yourself. These things aren't easy, but they are absolutely crucial in turning your life around. Live a life you deserve, become unmuzzled. Unmuzzled - Season 3 Episode 2 - Into Action
So, being more self-aware, understanding your trigger points. Analysing your past behaviours, and understanding why you acted out, got angry, withdrew inward, and so on. All great. All useful, and important. And very often the first step in becoming a rehabilitated bam. But how do we put these things into practice? Well, it's totally personal. But for me, with the help of meditation. I can start to understand my true trigger points. And snip things in the bud before they grow arms and legs. Or before I start to slip into old ways of emotional response. These methods of spotting trigger points, allow us a moment of breath. They become a buffer to knee jerk reactions. Spontaneous decisions that we will regret later. And we are all, a work in progress. So be patient with yourself! Don't develop more bad habits in the pursuit of a calm mind. So! Here we are! The final, and most important season of Unmuzzled at 67. The unravelling. I've told you all about my life, my past and present experiences. The trauma I've lived through, and the dangerous situations I've scraped out of by the skin of my teeth. But all of that, all of these experiences have brought me to where I am now. Unmuzzled - Season 2 Recap - Episode Discussions
Well, here we are! The end of another season... one to go. I look back up my experiences this time around recording and writing the second season of the podcast. This one had a bit of everything. Bad behaviour, becoming a mother, indecent proposals, decent proposals, and a fucking shootout. Who thought it would turn out like this, eh? Overall, the second season was a much smoother experience for me. Already having season 1 under my belt, I found it easier to open up in front of the camera... except the episode about money handling. I'm still embarrassed about that, and probably will be for a longer time yet. Season 3 will be the final season of the podcast, where we talk about my recover. Really taking my meditation and breathing practices seriously, and discovering the real benefit that it has left with me with. I still consistently meditate. And read. And discover new ways I can be a kinder, more understanding person. A better friend, a better mother, and of course... a better podcaster! Being stuck in a job you hate is awful. But being stuck in a job you hate... but are incredibly specialised and revered in your field. Well that's just a cruel joke eh. In this episode I talk about my mental health, and the decline of this while working in a field, and job that I just did not enjoy or like. Emotionally blunting myself to the point where I no longer had an inner dialouge, and how this made me feel like I was no longer living with a soul. Things did change however, and the freedom I get from my job, and my mindset shift due to yoga helped me deal with this life. I now very much have a soul, and everyday it is grateful for this life I am able to live. YouTube: Instagram:

Unmuzzled at 67 - Season 2 Episode 6 - Finding Your Tribe
Finding your tribe in life is one of lifes most fulfilling gifts. They're not just friends, but a like minded group of individuals that you would trust with your life. You share the same views on life, the same hobbies. But aren't afraid to tell eachother whats really on your mind. Conflict can be handled well and maturely. Overall, friends that uplift you and give great life advice. Comparatively, you'll come across "friends" that do nothing for you. That only do the bare minimum, and in actuality, bring you down. Narcissists, self-absorbed, grandiose, always looking to be the most powerful. These "friends" will chew you up and spit you out as soon as you're no longer of use to them. So one word on narcissists... beware. YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdK_nwiVTd2aL0FULUPGLmg Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unmuzzledat67/

Unmuzzled at 67 - Season 2 Episode 5 - Life Lessons and Experiences
This episode is slightly different, known as the "double dunt". We're splitting into two shorter experiences and lessons that I've experienced in life. One pertaining to debt and money, and the other, my parents and the inevitability of growing old. I was so embarrassed about my debts, and poor handling of money, that I was considering leaving this section out of the podcast all together. But! This is my story, and it has to be included. Despite my embarrassment. If anything, I hope it will help people learn from my own mistakes, and not to be embarrassed about debt. The second portion of the episode relates to my late parents. Our families battle with dementia, and how both my parents accepted old age. This was a hard life experience, and something that anyone who is lucky enough to have both parents, unluckily has to go through. It's never easy letting go. And loosing your parents leaves forever a hole in your heart that can never be filled. YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@unmuzzledat67 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unmuzzledat67/

Unmuzzled at 67 - Season 2 Episode 4 - More Boys...
Well, we continue on the gangster train. And yes, it is a bumpy ride. What we discuss in this episode begins with a mention of a very dear, and important friend in my life. She helped me move jobs, gave me a safe space in London. We were like sisters... until the day she passed. But the meat and bones of this episode are further discussing my embroilment with Glaswegian gangsters. We're going to talk about a shoot out. Yes. A real life shoot out. It was like a real life movie. And it was scary as fuck! YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@unmuzzledat67 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unmuzzledat67/

Unmuzzled at 67 - Season 2 Episode 3 - Here Come the Boys
Well, what do you know. Another strange twist in the tale so far... Glasgow Gangsters. This episode revolves around the hotel I began working in once I came back up to Glasgow, and the funny tales of comical guests, and a group of lads we called "The Maryhill Mob". They weren't good news however, and the partner of a friend told me to run in the opposite direction. Oh dear! Meanwhile, I'm going through a reinvention. I found the gym! It helped me go to an outside confidence 15! Inside confidence 0... with a string of different anti-depressants that weren't working it was tough to boost that inside confidence. ABOUT THIS SHOW
Hi, I'm Christine, and this is my story.
