by Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversations
Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation is a safe space for anyone who's ever felt overlooked, overwhelmed, or off-track. Through honest conversation, biblical truth, and sisterhood/brotherhood that goes beyond blood, we journey together—restored by grace, grounded in faith, and called for more. Where two faith-filled women dive into real-life topics with honesty, scripture, and sisterhood and brotherhood. It’s where truth speaks, grace covers, and everyone is welcomed just as we are. John 1:16 (NIV) “Out of His fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.”We choose John 1:16 because it reflects the layers of grace we talk about—the redemptive grace, the sustaining grace, the identity-giving grace—and it speaks to the fullness of Christ that we prayer pours into our listeners. When Chaos Comes Before Calling Episode
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you! Some weeks leave you emotionally exhausted. In this honest conversation, Shannon and Deb pull back the curtain on what life has really looked like lately—family struggles, work stress, leadership pressures, unanswered questions, and the spiritual weight that seems to come whenever you're stepping into something God has called you to do.Together they talk about how easy it is to mistake people for the enemy when Scripture reminds us our battle is never against flesh and blood. They discuss bitterness, healthy boundaries, giving grace, protecting your peace, and learning when to "let it be" while still trusting God to handle what you cannot. If you've been asking, "God, what did I do wrong?" this episode is a reminder that sometimes you're not being punished—you may simply be standing in the middle of a spiritual battle. The enemy wants distraction, division, and discouragement. Jesus offers peace, wisdom, and strength to keep moving forward. No polished answers. No pretending. Just two women choosing truth, grace, and Jesus in the middle of real life.Bible VersesEphesians 6:12 — "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood..."Ephesians 4:31-32 — Put away bitterness, wrath, anger, and forgive as Christ forgave you. John 10:10 — "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life..."James 1:19-20 — Be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to become angry. Isaiah 26:3 — God keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him. Encouragement Maybe you're listening today and your life feels a little like ours did this week.Relationships feel strained.Work feels overwhelming.Your emotions are heavier than usual. You're questioning whether you're doing the right thing. Can I encourage you?Don't let the enemy convince you that the people around you are the real enemy.Sometimes the greatest victory isn't winning the argument—it's refusing to lose your peace.Sometimes strength looks like taking a step back instead of taking revenge.Sometimes maturity looks like praying before reacting.Sometimes obedience looks like choosing grace when your flesh wants to choose bitterness. If God has called you to something, don't be surprised when opposition comes. Opposition doesn't always mean you're going the wrong direction. Many times it confirms you're walking toward something the enemy doesn't want you to reach.Keep praying.Keep forgiving.Keep setting healthy boundaries.Keep trusting God's timing. The battle may be real, but so is the One who has already won it. Closing Prayer Heavenly Father,Thank You for walking with us through every difficult season. Thank You that even when life feels chaotic, You remain faithful and unchanging.Lord, help us remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood. Give us eyes to recognize the spiritual battle without turning against the people You have placed in our lives.Search our hearts today. If there is bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, fear, or anger taking root, gently remove it. Replace it with Your peace, Your wisdom, and Your grace.Teach us when to speak and when to be still. Give us discernment to know the difference between healthy boundaries and hardened hearts. Help us extend the same grace that You have so freely given us.Strengthen every listener who feels overwhelmed by work, family, ministry, or life. Remind them that they are not fighting alone. You are with them in every battle, and You have already secured the victory through Jesus Christ.May we leave this week choosing faith over fear, peace over panic, and love over offense. In Jesus' mighty name,Amen. We want this to be truly interactive podcast. Prayer Isn't a Wish List: Trusting God's Timing Over Our Wants
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you!Have you ever noticed that we often pray the hardest when something is falling apart? When we need healing... When we need an answer... When we need God to fix what feels broken. But what if prayer was never meant to be our emergency response? What if it was always meant to be the foundation of our relationship with Jesus? In this episode, Shannon explores why we tend to approach God with a list of requests instead of a heart that simply longs to be with Him. Together, we'll look at what Scripture teaches about praying with trust, surrender, and confidence in God's perfect timing—even when His answer isn't the one we expected. If you've been waiting on God, wrestling with unanswered prayers, or wondering why He seems silent, this conversation is for you. God's delays are never His absence. Sometimes He's strengthening the roots before He reveals the fruit.Join us as we learn how to move from praying only for what we want to praying for what God wants to do in us.Bible VersesMatthew 6:9-10 John 15:5 Psalm 37:4-5 Isaiah 40:31 Philippians 4:6-7 Romans 8:28 Key Takeaway: Prayer isn't about changing God's mind—it's about allowing God to transform our hearts. When we trust His timing, we discover that His presence is the greatest answer to prayer. "Maybe today God isn't asking you to pray longer or louder. Maybe He's simply inviting you to stay. To sit in His presence without an agenda. Because the greatest purpose of prayer isn't getting God to do something for us—it's knowing the One who has already done everything for us through Jesus Christ." We would love to be unrelated sister to you!Have you ever felt like the moment God started opening doors, everything else started falling apart? In this honest conversation, Shannon and Deb talk about spiritual warfare, open doors, guilt, shame, anxiety, addiction recovery, and learning how to stay faithful when life feels heavy. As the upcoming women's conference continues to grow beyond anything they imagined, unexpected challenges seem to be showing up everywhere—from attacks on reputation, emotional overwhelm, family struggles, and questions about helping people find recovery.Together they unpack the difference between guilt and shame, why the enemy attacks identity, and how God continues to work even in difficult seasons. If you've ever felt stretched, overwhelmed, discouraged, or questioned whether you're on the right path, this episode is a reminder that opposition doesn't always mean you're off course.Sometimes it's confirmation that you're headed exactly where God wants you to go. Key Bible VersesGod's Protection During Attack"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly."Why It FitsThe enemy attacks identity, peace, purpose, and relationships. But Jesus came to give life, hope, and purpose. Guilt vs. Shame"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."Talking PointGuilt says: "I did something wrong."Shame says: "I am something wrong."Jesus convicts us to restore us. The enemy condemns us to destroy us. God's Strength During Hard Seasons"Fear not, for I am with you."Talking PointWhen life feels heavy, God doesn't ask us to carry it alone.Keep Building"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."Talking PointThe conference. The podcast. The ministry. The recovery journey.Don't quit in the stretching season.EncouragementMaybe you're listening today and you feel overwhelmed.Maybe you're carrying anxiety. Maybe you're carrying guilt. Maybe you're fighting battles nobody else sees.Don't let the enemy convince you that opposition means you're failing.Sometimes opposition means you're growing.Sometimes the greatest attacks happen right before the greatest breakthroughs. The enemy attacks what threatens him.And if God is opening doors in your life, don't be surprised when resistance shows up.Keep praying. Keep building. Keep trusting. And most importantly...Don't pick up chains Jesus already broke off your life. Closing PrayerFather,Thank You for being faithful in every season.Thank You for carrying us when life feels heavy and for reminding us that we do not walk through hard seasons alone.Lord, help us recognize the difference between conviction and condemnation. When guilt tries to become shame, remind us who we are in You.Strengthen every listener who feels overwhelmed, discouraged, attacked, or stretched beyond what they think they can handle.Give them peace where there is anxiety. Hope where there is fear. Faith where there is doubt. And Lord, as doors continue to open, help us stay focused on the assignment You have given us rather than the distractions around us.We trust You with the battle. We trust You with the outcome. And we trust You with the next step.In Jesus' name,Amen. We want this to be truly interactive podcast. Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you!Have you ever looked at your life and wondered how one area could feel completely chaotic while another seems to be falling perfectly into place? In this vulnerable episode of Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation, Shannon shares her heart about a difficult season of leadership, feeling overwhelmed at work, carrying the weight of a tired and frustrated team, and questioning whether she's doing enough. At the very same time, God seems to be moving powerfully through the upcoming women's conference. Doors are opening. Plans are coming together. Peace is showing up where stress should be.So why does God allow us to experience burden and blessing at the same time?Through biblical truth, personal testimony, and the stories of Moses, Mary, Elijah, Joseph, and the Prodigal Son, we'll explore how God often works in multiple chapters of our lives at once. One chapter may feel heavy while another feels hopeful, but His presence remains in both.If you've ever felt torn between pressure and purpose, frustration and faith, chaos and calling, this episode is for you.Because sometimes the greatest evidence of God's direction isn't the absence of problems—it's the presence of His peace. PRAYER Jesus,Thank You for meeting us in both the chaos and the calling.Thank You that we don't have to have all the answers.Thank You that we don't have to carry everything.Lord, I pray for every woman listening who feels overwhelmed. The leaders. The mothers. The wives. The caregivers. The women carrying burdens nobody else sees.Remind us today that we were never meant to carry what belongs to You.Give us wisdom where we need direction.Give us strength where we feel weak.Give us peace where we feel pressure. And Father, when one part of our life feels chaotic while another feels blessed, help us trust that You are working in both places.Teach us to recognize Your peace.Teach us to rest in Your presence. And remind us that if we have peace in our moment, it is of You.In Jesus' name,Amen.Main Scripture:📖 John 16:33 "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."📖 Numbers 11:14"I cannot carry all these people by myself; the burden is too heavy for me."📖 John 19:25"Near the cross of Jesus stood His mother."📖 Philippians 4:7"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."Remember this:You can be blessed and burdened at the same time. You can be called and challenged at the same time. You can be walking through chaos and still be standing in God's will. And if His peace is present...keep walking.Because God is writing a beautiful story in every chapter. ❤️We want this to be truly interactive podcast. WHEN JESUS PULLS YOU OVER
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you! What’s the first thing you do when blue lights appear behind you on the highway? You immediately start checking yourself.“Was I speeding?”“What did I do wrong?”“Did I miss something?”Before the officer even reaches your window, guilt starts speaking. In this powerful and deeply relatable episode of Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation, Shannon explores the connection between conviction, guilt, shame, and grace through the story of Peter denying Jesus three times. What did Peter feel when Jesus looked at him after the denial? What did Jesus do when He saw Peter again after the resurrection? And what does that teach us about the grace Jesus gives us every single day?Using biblical truth, real-life application, personal testimony, and emotional storytelling, this episode reminds listeners that conviction is not rejection — it’s an invitation back to relationship. If you’ve ever felt ashamed, spiritually distant, or afraid that your failures disqualified you, this episode is for you.Hebrews 12:6“For the Lord disciplines the one He loves.”The officer pulls you over because something needs attention.God convicts you because something needs healing.Luke 22:31-34Jesus tells Peter:“Before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.”Peter immediately responds:“No Lord, not me.”And honestly?Peter believed that.Because most of us think we’re stronger than we are…until pressure exposes us.Then Jesus gets arrested.Chaos breaks out.Fear spreads.People begin questioning the disciples. And suddenly Peter becomes afraid.A servant girl says:“Aren’t you one of His followers?”Peter says:“I don’t know Him.”Then again. And again.Three times.Luke 22:61“The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter.”Romans 8:1“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”Conviction says:“Come closer.”Condemnation says:“Stay away.”Jesus did not define Peter by his worst moment. And He doesn’t define you by yours either. PRAYER Jesus…Thank You for grace.Thank You that You do not abandon us when we fail.Thank You that conviction is not condemnation.Lord, for every listener carrying guilt, shame, regret, or disappointment…remind them today that You still love them.Restore hearts.Restore identity.Restore passion.Restore intimacy with You.And help us stop running every time You start speaking to our hearts.Thank You for loving us like You loved Peter. In Jesus’ name…Amen. We want this to be truly interactive podcast. Chapter 2: God speaks clearly God says: “You are called” “You are forgiven” “You are enough” “Wait on me” Chapter 3: The enemy questions what was spoken Then life happens…And suddenly: “Maybe I’m not” “Maybe I missed it” “Maybe that wasn’t God” 👉 The enemy doesn’t need to create a new narrative 👉 He just needs you to question the original one “Don’t let a question in your Chapter 3 rewrite what God already settled in your Chapter 2.” PRAYERFather God,We come to You right now in humility and honesty.Because if we’re real… we’ve questioned You.We’ve doubted what You said. We’ve entertained thoughts that didn’t come from You. We’ve allowed confusion where You already gave clarity. But today, God…We come back to truth.Remind us of what You spoke. Anchor us in Your Word. Give us discernment to recognize Your voice over every other voice.Silence the enemy’s lies. Strengthen our spirit. And help us stand firm on what You’ve already said.We trust You again. In Jesus’ name,Amen. We want this to be truly interactive podcast. You're Not Called to Impress God
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you!Have you ever felt like you needed to prove yourself to God?To pray better… To do more… To be more consistent… To finally “get it right” so you can feel close to Him again? In this episode of Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation, we’re breaking the lie that your relationship with God is built on performance.Because the truth is… You are not called to impress God—you are called to abide in Him.If you’ve ever felt spiritually exhausted, inconsistent, or like you’re falling short, this conversation will remind you of the freedom found in grace. Through biblical truth and honest reflection, we’ll talk about what it really means to live from God’s love instead of striving for it.You don’t have to earn His presence. You don’t have to perform for His approval. You are already fully known… and fully loved. BIBLE VERSES FOR THE EPISODE Abiding Over Striving John 15:4–5 “Abide in me, and I in you… apart from me you can do nothing.” Grace, Not Performance Ephesians 2:8–9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… not by works, so that no one can boast.” No Condemnation Romans 8:1 “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” God Looks at the Heart 1 Samuel 16:7 “The Lord does not look at the things people look at… the Lord looks at the heart.” Rest for the Weary Matthew 11:28–30 “Come to me, all you who are weary… and I will give you rest.” God’s Love is Constant Lamentations 3:22–23 “His mercies are new every morning.” Confidence in God, Not Self Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence…” ENCOURAGEMENT SEGMENT If you’ve been trying to impress God… You can stop. You don’t have to clean yourself up before coming to Him. You don’t have to have the perfect quiet time. You don’t have to say all the right words.God is not standing at a distance, grading your performance. He’s inviting you closer.Even on your inconsistent days. Even when you didn’t follow through. Even when your faith feels weak. You are not loved because you did everything right this week. You are loved because He is good. And nothing you failed to do… Can cancel what Jesus already finished. So take a deep breath. You’re not behind. You’re not disqualified. You’re still His. CLOSING PRAYERJesus…Thank You that I don’t have to impress You.Thank You that Your love for me is not based on my performance, my consistency, or my effort.Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to earn what You already gave freely.Forgive me for striving instead of abiding… For performing instead of resting in Your presence.Lord, help me to come to You just as I am.Remind me that You are not looking for perfection— You are looking for my heart.Teach me to walk with You daily, not out of pressure, but out of love.Quiet the lies that tell me I’m not enough. Replace them with Your truth—that I am already accepted, already chosen, already Yours.Jesus, I don’t want to impress You…I just want to know You.And trust that being with You is enough. In Your name, Amen.We want this to be truly interactive podcast. “When You Feel Like a Fraud in Your Faith”
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you! This right here… this is the kind of honesty that changes lives. Not perfection. Not polished. Not “I had a great week with Jesus.”This.The moment where you say, “I didn’t do what I said I would do… and I feel like a fraud.”That’s not failure—that’s awareness. And awareness is where transformation begins.Have you ever felt like a fraud in your faith?Like you said all the right things… but didn’t live them out?In this honest and vulnerable episode of Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation, we talk about what happens when intention doesn’t turn into action—and the guilt that follows. Why is it so easy to pretend we’re okay? Why does spending time with Jesus sometimes feel like a routine instead of a relationship? And why do we run to Him in some moments… but avoid Him in others? If you’ve ever felt inconsistent, disconnected, or disappointed in yourself spiritually—this episode is for you.Through biblical truth, real-life reflection, and gentle encouragement, we’ll explore how Jesus responds not with disappointment—but with invitation. You didn’t fail Him. He’s still calling you closer.Psalm 51:17“A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”God is not impressed by the version of you that has it all together. He is drawn to the version of you that says, “Lord… I didn’t show up.”John 15:4“Abide in me, and I in you.”Abiding isn’t a performance. It’s a posture.Romans 8:1“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”You didn’t fail Him.Let me say that again:You did not fail Jesus this week.Lamentations 3:22–23“His mercies are new every morning.”Not every perfect week.Every morning.PRAYER Jesus…Thank You that You are not intimidated by our inconsistency.Thank You that You don’t turn away when we don’t show up.You come closer.Lord, forgive us for the moments we pretended instead of being real.Forgive us for choosing distraction over connection. But thank You… that Your love never changed.Teach us that time with You is not a task—but a gift.Remind us that You are not waiting for perfection…You’re inviting presence. And even when we don’t come…You stay.We love You.Amen.We want this to be truly interactive podcast. Sisters in the Gray: Vegas
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you!Today we’re stepping into something that isn’t black and white. It’s not a scandal. It’s not a sermon about rules. It’s not even really about alcohol. It’s about the gray.Recently I was in Vegas celebrating friends who have been married for 30 years. It was beautiful — covenant, loyalty, legacy. We went to a concert, the music was loud, everyone was laughing… and the girls ordered drinks. And I ordered one too.Not out of rebellion. Not to get drunk. Not to run from God.Just… one.And honestly? I don’t even know why.Maybe to fit in. Maybe because everyone else did. Maybe because I could. The next morning, my husband asked me something that stopped me in my tracks. He said, “How do you talk about Jesus in the morning and have a drink at night?”And it wasn’t harsh. It wasn’t accusatory. But it exposed something deeper. Not sin necessarily. But tension. And I’ve been sitting with that tension ever since.Because here’s the truth:The Christian life isn’t lived only in the obvious. It’s lived in the gray. It’s lived in the moments where something isn’t clearly forbidden… but it also doesn’t feel completely settled. It’s lived in the questions like:Is this freedom? Is this compromise? Is this conviction?Or is this condemnation? And if we’re honest, every one of us has gray areas.Maybe yours isn’t a drink in Vegas. Maybe it’s language. Entertainment. Relationships. Ambition. Social media. People pleasing. But we all have places where we whisper, “Lord… is this okay?”So today, we’re not going to shame. We’re not going to overcorrect. We’re not going to pretend. We’re going to sit together — as sisters — in the gray.Because growth doesn’t happen in pretending everything is black and white. It happens in wrestling. And sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do…Is pause.Reflect.And ask,“Jesus… who am I becoming?”Let’s talk about it.PrayerFather,Search us.Not with condemnation, but with clarity.Where we are free, let us walk wisely. Where we need boundaries, give us courage. Where we are people-pleasing, strengthen us. Where we are tender, protect us.Make us consistent. Make us whole. Make us women who live the same in the light and in the dark.We want our freedom to honor You.In Jesus’ name, Amen.We want this to be truly interactive podcast. Shopping with Jesus in Vegas
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you!I was standing in the middle of the Las Vegas strip.Lights flashing. Music playing. People everywhere. It was one of those scenes that almost feels surreal. Neon reflecting off glass buildings. Laughter echoing down sidewalks. Music spilling out of restaurants. Groups dressed up, celebrating something. And that’s why we were there. We were celebrating friends who had been married for 30 years.Thirty years.Faithfulness. Commitment. History. Grace. We were there to honor love that lasted. We went to a New Kids on the Block concert. We laughed. We met new people. We made new friends. We watched a couple celebrate three decades of choosing each other. It was beautiful. And yet, in the middle of all of that celebration… something inside me was quietly drifting.Because everyone in Vegas is looking for something. Some are shopping for clothes. Some are shopping for experiences. Some are shopping for escape. Some are shopping for identity. And if I’m honest… so was I.The first few days, I walked past store after store.I looked at things. I admired things. I noticed things. But I didn’t take anything with me.I was window shopping.Present — but not receiving. And later, in the quiet of my heart, God showed me something that made me stop. That’s how many of us live with Jesus. We walk with Him.We hear about Him. We sing about Him. We even surround ourselves with people who know Him.But we never actually stop long enough to ask:“Lord, what do You have for me?”We observe Him — but we don’t receive Him.And then something shifted. On the third morning, I woke up alone. My husband and his best friend had gone golfing. The other wife was still resting. No plans. No schedule. No distractions.Just me… and Him.So I prayed.I worshiped. And I stepped back onto the same strip — but this time, I wasn’t window shopping anymore. This time, I was available. And what happened next, God used to show me something I will never forget. He whispered:“Everyone shops differently with Me.”Some people window shop. Some people shop for others. And some people finally shop for what they need to survive. And the question He asked me… is the same question He’s asking you right now:What are you shopping for?PRAYERJesus,Thank You for walking with us everywhere — even into places we didn’t expect You to speak.Forgive us for the times we’ve window shopped with You.Teach us to seek You wholeheartedly.Help us pour into others with boldness. And remind us to receive what our own souls need. You are our daily bread. Our necessity. Our provider. We choose to shop for what matters. In Jesus’ name,Amen. We want this to be truly interactive podcast. Defiant Hope: When Praise Rises From the Rubble
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you! What if hope isn’t something you wait for in the future… What if hope is something you stand in right now?In this episode of Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation, we talk about defiant hope — the kind of hope that doesn’t deny pain, but refuses to let pain have the final word. The hope that rises from the rubble, lifts its hands anyway, and praises God right where it is.This is not about pretending things don’t hurt. This is about trusting God in the middle of the hurt.If you’re walking through loss, disappointment, waiting, or uncertainty — this episode is for you. You’ll be reminded that biblical hope is not passive optimism, but active faith rooted in God’s character, not your circumstances.Bible Verses ReferencedRomans 5:3–5 — “Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”Habakkuk 3:17–19 — Praise when the fig tree doesn’t bloom.Psalm 34:19 — “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”Hebrews 11:1 — Faith as confident assurance.Isaiah 61:3 — Beauty for ashes.Encouragement for the ListenerSister, if you’re standing in the rubble — God is not absent. Your praise is not wasted. And your hope is not foolish.Defiant hope says: “This hurts — but God is still good.” “I don’t see the outcome — but I trust the One who does.” “I will praise Him here, not just when I get there.”You don’t have to have answers. You don’t have to feel strong. You just have to keep showing up.Hope isn’t denial. Hope is resistance.Prayer for the ListenerLord, For the woman listening who feels tired, discouraged, or worn down — we ask You to meet her right where she is.When life feels broken and uncertain, help her lift her eyes to You. Give her defiant hope — not because circumstances are easy, but because You are faithful.Teach her to praise You in the rubble. Strengthen her when she feels weak. Remind her that You are near, You are working, and You are not finished.Turn ashes into beauty. Turn pain into purpose. Turn waiting into worship. We trust You, Lord — even here. The Tone of Jesus: When One Word Can Change a Life
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you! What if the way we speak matters just as much as what we say? In this episode of Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation, we explore the tone of Jesus—how kindness, humility, and love shape the way truth is received. Inspired by a story shared by Sadie Huff, this conversation unpacks biblical wisdom about speaking life, correcting in love, and how small moments—when handled with grace—can leave eternal impact. This episode is for anyone who wants to reflect Christ more clearly through their words.KEY SCRIPTURESColossians 4:6Proverbs 18:21Proverbs 15:1Ephesians 4:15James 1:19–20John 1:141 Corinthians 13:1Because kindness doesn’t mean silence. And grace doesn’t mean avoiding truth. So how do we keep the tone of Jesus when the conversation is hard?Ephesians 4:15 tells us to “speak the truth in love.”Not speak truth with frustration. Not speak truth with superiority. But speak truth in love.Ask yourself before speaking:Is this about love or control?Am I trying to be right—or helpful?Would I want this said to me the way I’m about to say it?CALL TO ACTION What if the smallest interaction today becomes someone’s reminder of Jesus?A server.A coworker.Your child.Your spouse.A stranger. What if your tone is the thing God uses to soften a heart? You may never know the impact—but heaven does.PRAYER FOR THE LISTENER Jesus, Teach me to sound like You. Help my words be gentle and truthful. When truth is hard, give me love. When emotions rise, give me self-control. Heal the places where harsh words have wounded me. Use my voice to bring life, not harm. Today, I choose kindness. Today, I choose grace. Amen.We want this to be truly interactive podcast. Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you! What do you do when 134 doors close? When rejection feels louder than God’s promise? In this powerful episode, we unpack the unbelievable story of Fernando Mendoza — a 2-star recruit turned Heisman winner who led the losingest program in college football history to a national championship. But this isn’t just a football story — it’s a faith story. A reminder that God specializes in overlooked people, closed doors, and impossible odds.We connect Mendoza’s journey to biblical underdogs like David, Joseph, Gideon, and Esther — ordinary people chosen by an extraordinary God.If you’ve been told “no,” overlooked, underestimated, or discouraged, this episode will reignite your faith and remind you that God’s plan doesn’t depend on human approval. Scriptures: 1 Samuel 16, Genesis 50:20, Judges 6, Esther 4:14, Hebrews 11 👉 Rejection is not God’s redirection. 👉 Closed doors are not the end of your story. 👉 Being overlooked by people does not mean you are overlooked by God. 👉 The worst thing isn’t failing… 👉 The worst thing is never trying. 👉 “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” When everyone says no, God only needs one yes.Fernando Mendoza went from overlooked to Heisman winner — but this story is about more than football… it’s about faith, obedience, and trusting God when doors close.Sis, don’t quit. “The Man on the Middle Cross” – Grace That Needs No Resume
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you!Have you ever read a scripture a hundred times… and then one day, it hits you like you’ve never seen it before? That’s what happened to me with the thief on the cross.I’ve read Luke 23 so many times. But I never really saw him… until I heard Alistair Begg say:“The man on the middle cross said I could come.”No baptism. No church attendance. No Bible studies. No good works. No altar call.Just grace. And suddenly I realized… This story messes up everything we think about “earning” salvation. So today we’re talking about the thief. The criminal. The undeserving. The last-minute believer. And maybe… we’re talking about ourselves too.Thank you, Alistair Begg (Luke 23:39–43)“One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: ‘Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!’But the other criminal rebuked him. ‘Don’t you fear God,’ he said, ‘since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.’Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’Jesus answered him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.’”The thief simply says:“Jesus… remember me.”That’s faith. Not polished. Not religious. Not rehearsed.Just raw desperation. And Jesus doesn’t hesitate. No interview. No checklist. No probation period.“Today. With Me. In paradise.”Immediate grace. WHAT THIS TEACHES US ABOUT SALVATION 1️⃣ “I have to clean myself up first”No. He came dirty. Bloody. Broken.Grace met him right there.2️⃣ “I’ve messed up too much”He was literally a criminal. And Jesus still said: “Come.”3️⃣ “I need more time”He had minutes left. And it was enough.Ephesians 2:8–9:“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”Father God,Thank You for grace that doesn’t require a résumé. Thank You that we don’t have to earn Your love. Thank You that You meet us right where we are.Lord, for the ones listening who feel unworthy, remind them today:They don’t get in because of what they’ve done… They get in because of what You did.Jesus, thank You for the cross. Thank You for forgiveness. Thank You for mercy that meets us in our last breath and in our first step.Help us stop striving and start trusting. We believe. He is still using every chapter — even the messy ones.CLOSING PRAYER FOR LISTENERSDear Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your presence, for Your saving power, and for the way You rewrite our lives with grace. “When God’s Yes Comes Full Circle”
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you!Episode Description: Have you ever waited on a “yes” from God — prayed for it, cried over it, and then when it finally came, it didn’t look the way you expected? This episode of Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation dives deep into the beauty and mystery of when God’s yes comes full circle — those moments when what once didn’t make sense finally clicks into place.Sometimes His “yes” isn’t immediate. It unfolds slowly through seasons of pruning, preparation, and purpose. But when His promise finally comes around, it reminds us that God’s timing is never off — it’s orchestrated.Together, we’ll unpack how to recognize when God’s yes is in motion, how to steward it with gratitude, and how to stay faithful in the in-between. Because when God brings something full circle, it’s never just about the blessing — it’s about the transformation that happened along the way.📖 Anchor Verse:Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV) –“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”Philippians 1:6 (NLT) –“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”💡 Encouragement:When God’s yes finally comes full circle, it often meets you as a healed version of yourself — the “you” that’s ready to hold what you once only hoped for. Don’t rush the circle. Trust that every delay, detour, and disappointment had a divine purpose. God never wastes your waiting; He weaves it into your becoming. If you’re in the middle of the circle — still unsure where the story is headed — remember: God’s yes doesn’t expire; it matures.🪞How to Recognize and Steward God’s Full-Circle “Yes”Reflect Before You Rejoice: Take a moment to look back. What prayers has God already answered that you might’ve missed because you moved on too fast? Gratitude brings clarity.Stay Rooted in Relationship, Not Results: When the blessing comes, don’t let the gift distract you from the Giver. Keep your eyes fixed on the One who brought you through.Use What You’ve Learned: God’s full-circle moments are meant to be shared. Testify. Encourage someone else who’s still waiting — your story is proof that His promises are real.Guard Against Pride or Comparison: Remember that every circle is different. What He does for you is designed for your timeline and purpose. Celebrate others, but stay content in your own process.🙏 Closing Prayer:Father, thank You for being the God who finishes what You start. Even when I couldn’t see it, You were working. Thank You for every delay that developed me, every no that protected me, and every yes that is coming full circle in Your perfect timing. Teach me to trust You more than the outcome and to see Your fingerprints in every phase of my story. “Guard Your Heart: Protecting What Matters Most”
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you!In this heartfelt episode of Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation, Shannon opens up about a tough week filled with lies from the enemy and heavy emotions. Rooted in Proverbs 4:23 — “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” — she shares how guarding your heart is not about building walls, but about protecting the truth God has placed inside of you.Together, we’ll look at what it means to guard your heart from lies, bitterness, and distractions, and explore practical ways to stay anchored in God’s Word. From Scripture meditation to writing a “Truth List,” you’ll find encouragement and tools to keep your heart safe in Christ.Whether you’ve been feeling “not enough” or simply need a reminder of God’s promises, this episode will equip you to protect what matters most—your heart.Practical Ways to Guard Your Heart (5 minutes) “So, how do we actually do this? Here are a few things that help me:Scripture meditation. When lies come, replace them with truth. Like Psalm 139:14—‘I am fearfully and wonderfully made.’ Or 2 Corinthians 12:9—‘His grace is sufficient for me.’Prayer when feelings are overwhelming. You don’t have to have fancy words. Just, ‘Lord, I feel heavy. Remind me who I am in You.’Healthy boundaries. Sometimes guarding your heart means stepping back—from conversations, environments, or even people who drain your spirit.Writing a Truth List. This is one I want to challenge you to start. Write down truths about who you are in Christ. My first five are: I am loved. I am chosen. I am forgiven. I am not alone. I am enough because He is enough. Add to it whenever God shows you something.”“Family, guarding your heart isn’t about building walls to keep everyone out. It’s about protecting what God has already placed inside of you—His love, His Spirit, His truth. If you’re feeling attacked, heavy, or ‘not enough’ today, you’re not alone. I’m right there with you. But more importantly, God is with you, and He will help you guard your heart so that everything flowing out of your life reflects Him.Let’s pray:Father, thank You for Your Word that reminds us to guard our hearts. Lord, we confess that sometimes we let lies, bitterness, or distractions take root. But today we ask You to strengthen us. Help us protect the truth You’ve spoken over us. Remind us that we are loved, chosen, and never alone. Cover every listener today with peace, with clarity, and with courage to guard their hearts well. When you’re feeling alone, lost, and “not good enough,” that’s exactly when God shows up and reminds us of His truth. “This past week and a half has been tough. “Maybe You’re the Blessing” – When Strength Feels Heavy
Ladies we want to prayer for you. Please take time to share your story or just ask for prayer. We would love to be unrelated sister to you!Have you ever felt like you’re constantly showing up for everyone else—but no one shows up for you? You’re the strong one. The one who carries the weight. The one who prays, encourages, checks in, holds it together, and gives your all... but behind closed doors, you’re tired. You wonder, “When will it be my turn?”In this vulnerable and spirit-led episode of Unrelated Sisters: Truth & Grace Conversation, Shannon and special guest Haley Lewis speak directly to the women who are always pouring, always holding, always pressing forward—even when it feels like no one notices. This is your reminder: You are not invisible. You are not forgotten. Maybe you’re not being overlooked… maybe you were built to make an impact. We dive deep into what it means to be the blessing in someone else’s storm, why your strength matters more than you think, and how God honors those who serve in silence. Through honest conversation, Scripture, prayer, and declarations, this episode is a spiritual exhale for every woman carrying more than she admits.Speak out in Affirmation:“Repeat after us, sis…”“I am the blessing.”“God is using me to make an impact.”“My strength is seen, and my sacrifice is sacred.”“I will not grow weary in doing good.”“God sees me, fills me, and rewards me.”A prayer if your having a hard time with what to say:“Father, thank You for the strong one listening today. The one who gives without applause, who carries others even when she’s tired. Remind her that You see her. You reward her. You refill her. Let her rest in Your strength, not her own. In Jesus’ name, amen.”Discernment Your Best Yes, ask these question to help know it's Gods Yes:Question 1: Is this something that God is truly asking of me? Lord, is this for me? If it's not for me, then let me know so that I don't take somebody else's blessing. Question 2: Does this align with my calling, not just with my capabilities? We all have certain things that we're good at, but we also all have a calling. Is this part of my purpose, or am I just saying yes because it's something that I enjoy or that I'm good at. Question 3: Am I saying yes out of fear or guilt or out of pride? Is it because of Fear of what others might think, or is it out of guilt, or is it I know I can do that, so let me just say yes. Out of Pride. Finally question 4 ... What will this yes cost in time, energy, relationships, and rest? Will this yes honor my current season and boundaries? Especially when you're in ministry, you have to have good, healthy boundaries of what you can and can't do.Key Verse: Galatians 6:9“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Listen now for truth, grace, and a Word just for the givers.#ChristianPodcast #FaithAndMentalHealth #StrongWomenOfGod #UnrelatedSistersPodcast #GodSeesYou #YouAreTheBlessingWe want this to be truly interactive podcast.
