With the Oven and the Coffee Maker and the Whisk
I recorded this episode in the early morning, while I was catching up on some baking. The timer was going off, the coffee maker was going, and the icing was bubbling over the pan. But here—here is His presence too. It’s not separate. How sweet is that! May this prayer speak life into the chaotic moments. He can be found even here. Find his presence.

Giving life
It’s deeply on my heart today to speak life. May my words today speak life into my family. We have the power of life and death in our tongues. May your words today be life-giving.

Be found in the valley of stillness
As I stepped out of my house this morning and began to walk and pray, I felt a familiar weight rising up inside of me. Dryness. Wasteland. Exhaustion. My mind was already making decisions about what this feeling meant before my lips even uttered a first word of prayer. My mind needed realignment. Dry does not equal empty. It’s uncomfortable. But it’s not barren. This is a valley of stillness. And what my heart chooses to align with here changes my worship. It changes my obedience. I do not bow before an idol of revelation or experiencing emotional high. My reverence and awe are not dependent on how lush the scenery of my spiritual walk is today. The valley of stillness is holy too. Worship from emptiness is beautiful. I have nothing to lay before the King this morning except the faithful discipline of prayer. And He met me there. Not because my prayer was beautifully heartfelt. But because He is always waiting for us. Whether our minds have caught up or not. Friends, stop waiting for your mind to tell you to come before the presence of Almighty God. Come before Him in reverence and awe, for He is a consuming fire. Enter his courts with praise. Let thanksgiving be on your lips. Thank him for the dry valleys. The stillness is rich with alignment. Stop waiting to walk out of the valley. Do what His Word says—enter his courts.
