Well Lit Path

Christian growth is intentional. That growth comes through the pursuit of godly knowledge. Fortunately, we have a resource provided by God himself that contains all the knowledge necessary for us to grow intentionally in our Christian life. While the path may be dark, it can be illuminated. Through our studies we pray we can be a supplement to that resource to aide in your walk on a Well Lit Path.

  1. 136

EP.135 - Boasting Only in Him

In Psalms 131 we see that spiritual maturity means laying pride aside, quieting our hearts, and learning to rest in the Lord. Let’s look at the danger of making testimonies about ourselves, the foolishness of boasting in what only God could accomplish, and the sure hope found in trusting Him forever.

  2. 135

EP.134 - The Dawning from the Depths

In Psalm 130 we see a believer crying out from the very depths of sorrow, yet clinging to the God who hears, forgives, and redeems. This episode walks through the raw honesty of the Psalmist’s plea, the hope found in God’s unfailing mercy, and the promise that even the longest night will give way to morning. It’s a reminder that in every season of heaviness, the Lord is near, His Word is sure, and His redemption is plenteous for all who wait on Him.

  3. 134

EP.133 - Two Sides of the Coin

In Psalms 128 & 129 we see the two sides of the Christian life—blessing and persecution. Walking with God brings steady, meaningful blessing, but it also invites hardship. Yet in both, God is present, sustaining His people and reminding us that the greatest blessing is not just what He gives, but that He never leaves us.

  4. 133

EP.132 - Finding His Presence in Building

In Psalms 127, we see what it means to build a home and legacy God will bless, following His design instead of the world’s. When the Lord is the foundation and we labor in His presence, our labor is never in vain—and the impact reaches generations.

  5. 132

    EP.131 - A Harvest of Joy

In Psalms 125 & 126 we see that our security in God is unshakable even in seasons of hardship, reminding us that our standing is not based on our feelings but on His faithfulness—and that even when we are sowing in tears, God is at work, bringing a promised harvest of joy in His perfect time.

  6. 131

    EP.130 - The Right Side

In Psalm 124, we see that God will be on our side if we first get on His. We would be headed no where good without him. Once enemies, we can be on the winning side who were once lost and losing. There is protection and deliverance that comes with being on his side. Eternally.

  7. 130

    EP.129 - Hand Signals

In Psalm 123, we see a call to lift our eyes from our circumstances and wait on the Lord with trust and attention. In a world of instant gratification, this episode challenges us to trade impatience for a posture of looking up, learning to recognize God’s leading through His Word. Waiting isn’t wasted—it reveals what we truly believe about Him.

  8. 129

EP.128 - Fix Your Love Life

In Psalm 122, we see a heart that rejoices at the thought of going to the house of the Lord—a joy many believers struggle to maintain today. This episode explores how misplaced priorities and forgotten blessings dull our love for God, and how praise, prayer, and renewed focus on Him can restore true gladness in worship and fellowship.

  9. 128

EP.127 - Our View from the Road

In Psalm 121, we see a weary pilgrim lift his eyes from the dust of the road to the God who never sleeps, discovering that true help doesn’t come from the hills themselves but from the Maker of heaven and earth. In this episode, we’re reminded to stop staring at our circumstances and start fixing our gaze on the One who guards our steps, watches over our lives, and faithfully keeps us through every season.

  10. 127

EP.126 - Our Source of Peace

In Psalm 120 we see a pilgrim surrounded by conflict yet anchored in prayer, crying out to the Lord for deliverance while dwelling among those who love war. This episode explores what it means to live at peace in a world of tumult, to trust our sovereign Father with our cares, and to remember that as believers, we are pilgrims longing for a better country while speaking the gospel of peace along the way.

  11. 126

EP.125 - Find and Quicken Me

In Psalm 119 verse 145 - 176 we see a heartfelt crescendo of dependence, where the psalmist cries out to be made alive according to God’s Word. Surrounded by affliction, he finds both his need for salvation and the promise of it in the Law. Loving God’s statutes brings life, praise, and great peace, even as he humbly confesses his tendency to wander and pleads for revival.

  12. 125

    EP.124 - Panting for Peace

In Psalm 119 verses 129–144 we see a soul overwhelmed by the wonder, purity, and everlasting righteousness of God’s Word. The psalmist longs for understanding, grieves over those who reject truth, and anchors his peace in the unchanging character of the Lord. This episode explores how praying for Spirit-given understanding cultivates a deep hunger for Scripture and leads us to lasting peace in God Himself.

  13. 124

    EP.123 - Let Him Work

In Psalms 119:121-128, we see God’s Word recenters weary hearts and exposes the pride that says we can stand alone. True growth comes when we surrender, worship together, and let Him carry what we never could.

  14. 123

    EP.122 - Hiding in Hope

In Psalm 119:113-120 we see the psalmist reject fearful, empty thoughts and cling to God as his hiding place, trusting His Word to steady his heart in a world where evil seems loud and threatening. We can have a confident hope that God will uphold the faithful and ultimately judge wickedness, freeing the believer from anxiety and fixing their eyes on His promises instead of present chaos.

  15. 122

    EP.121 - Obedience = His Will

In Psalms 119:105–112, we see God’s will lived out through daily obedience, not hidden behind mystery or regret. This episode reminds us that God’s Word lights each step ahead, calling us to trust Him and obey—one faithful step at a time.

  16. 121

    EP.120 - Sweeter Than Honey

In Psalm 119:97–104, we see a believer whose love for the Word of God has moved beyond mere obedience into delight, shaping his wisdom, guarding his steps, and anchoring his life in every season. Can we say the same? Is God's Word and obedience to it a delight for us? Is it sweeter than honey?

  17. 120

    EP.119 - That settles it

In Psalm 119:89–96 we are reminded that God’s Word is eternally settled in heaven, faithfully sustaining creation and salvation alike, and calls us to live as those who have been quickened, secured, and wholly devoted to Him.

  18. 119

EP.118 - He’s not done with you yet

In Psalm 119:81–88, we see a believer who is weary, waiting, and wounded, yet still clinging to the promises of God. His soul feels dried like a smoke-blackened wineskin, but his hope remains anchored in the Word. Even under persecution, delay, and emotional fatigue, he refuses to forsake God’s precepts. Instead, he pleads for revival through the lovingkindness of the Lord, knowing that His presence restores what trials have cracked.

  19. 118

    EP.117 - A Heart for God

In Psalm 119:73-80, we see the psalmist asking God to shape the heart He formed. This episode reflects on obedience, mercy, and finding completeness in Him. It’s a call to let the Maker tune our hearts to His.

  20. 117

EP.116 - The Joy of Correction

In Psalm 119:65–72 we see that God’s correction is not cruelty, but kindness — the mercy that draws wandering hearts back home. The psalmist confesses that affliction became his teacher, leading him from pride to discernment, from rebellion to reverence. What once felt like punishment revealed itself as love, and the law that once seemed heavy became his delight. In God’s hands, even discipline becomes a doorway to joy.

  21. 116

EP.115 - Near to the Heart of God

In Psalm 119:57-64, we’re going to take a look at our relationship with God, who he is to us, and how we can stay close to him in unbroken fellowship. Are we defining blessing according to His Word, obedience according to His Word? Are we looking for relationship on our terms or His? How to we draw near to the heart of God?

  22. 115

    EP.114 - Bent toward You

In Psalm 119:49–56, the psalmist finds comfort in God’s unfailing promises. Even in silence, God never forgets His own. Our hearts, once bent toward sin, are now inclined toward Him. True peace comes from staying faithfully bent toward the Lord.

  23. 114

EP.113 - Liberty in His Word

In Psalm 119:41-48, we are reminded that God’s Word is not a burden but a blessing. True freedom is found in obedience to Him. In this episode, we rediscover the mercy, joy, and liberty that come from walking in His truth.

  24. 113

EP.112 - Teach Me to Stay True

In Psalm 119:33-40, we are presented with some tips on how to be guided by the Lord on the trajectory he sets for us.  So often we are tempted to play the pilot, the driver, the archer in our lives. It should never be a case of "Jesus, take the wheel!" as we should never be in the driver's seat to begin with.  The psalmist in this week's passage brings that concept alive for us as he looks at being an arrow loosed by the Archer. Can we really trust God to let him set us loose according to his plan?

  25. 112

EP.111 - Quickened and Running Down the Path

In Psalm 119:25-32, the psalmist moves from weakness in the dust to running in God’s strength. He cries out to be quickened, taught, and strengthened until his heart clings to God’s Word instead of despair. This passage shows us that grace doesn’t just revive—it transforms.

  26. 111

EP.110 - Servants, Strangers in need of Counsel

In Psalm 119:17-24, we see that true abundance isn’t found in earthly success but in God’s Word shaping our lives. The psalmist prays for opened eyes to see wondrous truths, not for riches or comfort. Real joy comes from living as strangers here, counseled daily by Scripture. Will we be satisfied with His Word as your greatest treasure?

  27. 110

    EP.109 - Hidden Delight

In Psalm 119:9–16, we try to take a fresh look at a familiar passage and ask what it really means to hide God’s Word in our hearts. It’s not just about memory—it’s about transformation. We explore the difference between quoting Scripture and applying it, and how delighting in God’s Word changes everything.

  28. 109

EP.108 - Delighting in the Law

In Psalm 119:1-8, we learn about how delighting in the law is art of progressive sanctification in the life of the believer. While we can never keep the law, it is invaluable in our lives to show us when we fall short and remind us what restoration and unbroken fellowship bring to our lives, enabling us to walk closer with the Father. It is in the law that we see how to live out and submit to the working of the Holy Spirit as he molds us to become more like Christ according to the will of the Father.

  29. 108

    EP.107 - We've Only Just Begun

In Psalm 119, we embark on a journey to plunge the depths of the chapter and fish out every way it applies to our lives. In this week’s episode, we introduce the chapter and our goals for the study through the lens of “We’ve Only Just Begun.”

  30. 107

    EP.106 - Valiant Right Hand

In Psalm 118, we trace the eternal thread of redemption woven by God’s hand—from eternity past to the cross, from covenant to cornerstone. This episode is a deep dive into the finished work of Christ and the enduring mercy that frames every page of Scripture and every breath of grace.

  31. 106

EP.105 - Hallelu-, Hallelu-, Hallelu-, Hallelujah

In Psalm 117, we find a call for all people to praise the Lord for His mercy and eternal faithfulness. In this episode, we explore why every tribe and tongue is invited to shout a hallelujah to the self-Existent God. His love is vast, His truth unchanging, and He alone is worthy of our loudest praise.

  32. 105

    EP.104 - What to Render?

In Psalm 116, we’re reminded why we serve—a God who hears, delivers, and never lets go. This week, we explore what it means to live every moment as worship. What will you render to the Lord who gave everything?

  33. 104

EP.103 - Not a God of Our Own Making

In Psalm 115 we are reminded that God deserves glory because he is God alone. There is none like him and we cannot make him like us. It is because we cannot change him and the blessing he bestows on our obedience that we are right to offer him praise. It reminds us that God is not good because he does good. He does good because he is good.

  34. 103

    EP.102 - Remembering Hallelujah

In Psalm 113 & 114, we see a call to praise and a reminder of God’s mighty deliverance. These are the songs of remembrance—sung by Israel, by David, and even by Jesus at Passover. After a powerful week at camp, we talk about what happens when the fire fades and how to keep the memory alive. Praise becomes our pathway back to the presence of God.

  35. 102

EP.101 - Hearts Fixed: On Praise

In Psalm 111& 112, we find two psalms tied together by trust and praise. We reflect on what it means to praise the Lord not just with our mouths, but with fixed hearts and obedient hands. From camp worship moments to the lasting legacy of righteousness, this episode explores why praise flows from trust and how trust shapes our everyday obedience. It’s not about performance. It’s not about legacy. It’s about Jesus. Only Jesus.

  36. 101

EP.100 - The King is Coming!

In Psalm 110, we pull back the curtain on the eternal reign of Jesus—our Sovereign King and everlasting High Priest. In this Messianic psalm, David points forward to the One who would rule with power, intercede with compassion, and conquer with righteousness. Let’s look together at the glory of the King who is already reigning, the Priest who is still interceding, and the Savior who is soon returning.

  37. 100

    EP.99 - Praise before Petition

In Psalm 109, David begins with praise even as he pleads for justice, revealing a heart that trusts God before it petitions Him. This episode explores the nature of spiritual enemies—Satan, the flesh, and even real people—and how we can cry out for deliverance without forsaking worship. Can we keep our communion with God so constant that our cries for help are never out of place?

  38. 99

    EP.98 - Prepared for Praise

In Psalm 108, we’re challenged to prepare our hearts and lift our praise from a place of awe, not expectation. We explore what it means to truly praise God—not for what He’s done, but for who He is. We reflect on surrender, worship, and the burdens we were never meant to carry.

  39. 98

EP.97 - From Rebellion to Restoration

In Psalm 106 & 107, we see the pattern of rebellion, chastisement, repentance, and restoration—not just in Israel’s story, but in our own. Even when we fail, God remains faithful because He alone secured the covenant. Christ bore the full weight of our sin and delivered us into mercy, healing, and home.  If you’ve tasted that mercy, you should respond with gratitude, repentance, and praise.

  40. 97

    EP.96 - It's not about OUR Good

In Psalm 105, we’re reminded of God’s faithfulness across generations — a steady, unwavering hand guiding His people through trials, triumphs, and everything in between. In this episode, we reflect on how God’s plan is always bigger than our own comfort or success, pointing us to Christ and His glory.  Even when the path feels unclear, we can trust that He is at work for our good - His definition of good - and His purpose.

  41. 96

    EP.95 - Majesty in Order

In Psalm 104, we are invited to stand in awe of God’s creative power — from the vastness of the mountains to the intricate design of the tiniest creatures. This psalm reminds us that every part of creation, seen and unseen, proclaims His wisdom and might.  Let us praise Him for His marvelous attention to detail, from the smallest workings of nature to the saving work of the cross.

  42. 95

EP.94 - Bless the Lord Always

In Psalm 103, David calls us to bless the Lord and forget not all His benefits — starting with the greatest of all: redemption. We were rescued from destruction and crowned with lovingkindness and tender mercies by a God who loves us beyond measure. Creation won’t stay silent, and neither should we.

  43. 94

EP.93 - When Flesh Fails, God Remains

In Psalm 102 we hear the raw cry of a frail and weary heart — a reminder that though our bodies grow weak and our days pass like shadows, God remains faithful and unchanging. The challenge is simple: will you choose to strengthen your spirit now, before the frailty of age forces you to your knees? Start today — pray, grow, and finish well.

  44. 93

    EP.92 - Upright, Unseen, Unshaken

In Psalm 101 we are called to live in the light of Christ’s victory — not just on Easter, but in the quiet, ordinary days that follow. David sets a high bar for personal integrity, showing us the heart of one who longs to walk blamelessly before God, even in weakness.    And we’re reminded that the pursuit of holiness begins in the secret place.

  45. 92

EP.91 - Joy, Submission, Perfect Peace

In Psalm 100, we’re called to joyful praise, humble submission, and grateful living. Joy is a choice, not a feeling. Submission isn’t defeat — it’s where peace begins. Gratitude flows from knowing God keeps every promise. Choose joy, surrender fully, and give thanks this week!

  46. 91

EP.90 - Before the Throne, Behind the Veil

In Psalm 99, we’re ushered into the thundering presence of a holy God—enthroned between the cherubim, reigning in righteousness, justice, and mercy. This episode invites us to walk through the layers of the Tabernacle, to tremble at His holiness, and to marvel at the veil that once separated us from His presence. But we don’t stop there—we rejoice in the veil that was torn. Will you step into that holy place today and live like the veil has truly been torn?

  47. 90

EP.89 - Get ready to sing a new song

In Psalm 96 through 98, we’re called to sing, praise, and rejoice because the Lord reigns. These psalms celebrate His greatness, His salvation, and His coming judgment in righteousness. We explore their historical context and how they still call us to declare His glory among unbelievers today. Can we live and worship like our King truly reigns?

  48. 89

    EP.88 - Come, Kneel, Listen

In Psalm 95, we’re called to worship—and warned not to harden our hearts. Even when God provides, will we recognize it? The Rock still pours water. The Light still shines. The challenge: Hear His voice—today.

  49. 88

EP.87 - No One Like Our God

In Psalm 94, the psalmist cries out to God, longing for justice against the wicked who oppress the innocent and mock the Lord’s authority. He reminds us that though evil may seem unchecked, God sees all, hears all, and will bring perfect judgment in His time. While the wicked will ultimately face His wrath, those who trust in Him find refuge, strength, and peace even in the midst of turmoil. As you go into this week, trust in the justice of God, release the burden of vengeance, and ask yourself—are you resting in His righteousness or trying to fight battles that only He can win?

  50. 87

    EP.86 - Greater Than...

In Psalm 93, we’re reminded that no matter how loud the storm gets, our God reigns. His throne is unshaken, His Word is sure, and His power is greater than any wave that rises against us. Whether we’re stepping out like Peter on the water or walking through on dry land like Israel at the Red Sea, it all comes down to trusting the One who holds back the waves. This week, let’s challenge ourselves to praise Him in the storm, not just after it passes.
