As we dissect a story that seems odd at face value, we will see that as Jesus deals with the Canaanite woman every action is different than we would expect, but he reveals to us something greater that we can’t always see.

The realities of life have a tendency to leave us sitting beside pools of wishful thinking, and Jesus alone brings lasting healing and real hope. John 5:1-17

Cleansing happens when we come to Jesus aware of our condition & with faith that He can make us clean.  Luke 5:12-16.

We all have a need to have our sins forgiven, and believers in Christ get to play a part in bringing people to Jesus so he can meet that need. Join us as we look at the encounter with Jesus and the paralyzed man in Mark 2:1-12.

As Jesus encounters a man named Nicodemus, a man by all accounts has the religious life figured out. Jesus helps Nicodemus see his need for something more. Showing him the reality of New Birth and how one can be born again.  John 3:1-15.

Praise is a term found throughout scripture, that God specifically calls his people to. Why is praise so significant? How does praise change us?  What can I learn about praise from this Psalm? These are the questions we will seek to answer from Psalm 146.

If we are to become faithful and effective in prayer, we must be shaped by the Word of God. Powerful prayer doesn’t begin with us and our requests; instead, it flows from Scripture. As God’s Word fills our hearts and minds, it begins to guide what we pray, how we pray, and why we pray. Daniel 9:1-19

Everyone is seeking something in this life. The problem is, you will never find what you are ultimately looking for until you look to Jesus. The challenge from Jesus himself is this: will you look to me and find what you’re looking for, or will you keep searching elsewhere? Jphn 1:35-39

Even when the world looks chaotic, God is never out of control; He is actively ruling over history. And in Daniel 7, God graciously pulls back the curtain to show both who will establish His kingdom (the Son of Man) and who will ultimately receive it (His saints).

Knowing the foundational truth that God is with his children, should embolden and empower us to live with conviction and courage. Not because life will always be easy. No, but because he promises to always be with us.  Daniel 6

Prideful people must be warned of the dangers that are before them…but here’s the problem: few people genuinely think they are prideful and apart from God’s word, you’ll never see the truth. Daniel 5 helps us see what pride looks like and cautions us to beware of any pride that rests in our hearts.

The only way to know God and see him rightly is to be humbled by him. We will never come to faith in the Lord until we lose our pride and confidence in ourselves. But, when we see the Lord rightly, he will bring us to humility before him, the exalted Lord of the world. Daniel 4:1-37.

In Daniel 3, we learn about three young men who would rather lose their lives than bow to the idols of the land. In their courage to stand, we see how we can learn to stand against the idols of our day as faithful witnesses for Christ. Daniel 3:1-30

Believers should delight in reading the Bible because it reminds us throughout that God is in control. Story after story, we see that he is in control and is working all things out to a certain end. Daniel 2:31-49.

Identity doesn't come from effort it comes from life that God gives for His glory. Join us as we wrap up our student ministry weekend with our guest preacher Joe Yarborough. Ezekiel 37

If we do not know the Lord, and if we aren’t concerned with growing in our knowledge and love for him, we will never develop convictions that lead to courageous living. Daniel 2:1-30.

To live with courage and conviction begins long before we are tested. It begins with a heartfelt resolve to know God’s word and do it, no matter what. In short, faithfulness is decided before it is tested. Daniel 1.

The call to Christianity is the call to sacrifice your life for Christ. Not to earn anything, but to have the life the Lord has called you to as faithful servants of his…indeed, it is the only life worth living. Nehemiah 1:1-2:8.

If we want to walk closely with the Lord, we cannot do that apart from abiding in his word. In fact, abiding in his word is the catalyst for spiritual health in nearly every aspect of our lives. Jeremiah 2; 2 Kings 22

As we look at a famed vision given to the prophet Ezekiel amid some of Israel's darkest days, we will see God's promise to bring new life and hope into their situation and to all of us who are his. Ezekiel 37:1-14.

The birth of Jesus does not happen as we would expect, but it happens exactly as God planned. In fact, the way and the timing both demonstrate that God is in control the whole time. And this story provides a needed reminder that God works his way, on his time, and it’s always for the best.

Joseph faced an impossible situation, but when God revealed who the child was, everything changed. In the same way, when we truly see who Jesus is, it changes everything about how we live. Matthew 1:18-25

It is hard for us to conceive of life with no limits…and yet, what we find is that God does not have any limits regarding who he can use or what he can do, and the story of Jesus’s birth is a defining picture of that reality. Luke 1:26-38.

Many will miss the wedding feast of Christ and his bride (the church). Surprisingly, people won't miss the feast because they weren't invited; instead, they will miss it because they've either ignored the invitation or were unwilling to prepare for it. Join us as we close our Parables series. 

A Christian ought to reflect the love of Jesus in all of their actions. Join us as we look to the parable of the good Samaritan to show us how this is manifested in the life of the believer. Luke 10:25-37

Everyone struggles with the desire for having more than is needed, or with the fear of not having what we need. Jesus gives us a parable and a teaching that both warn us against the blinding effects of covetousness and the cripplying effects of anxiety. Luke 12:13-34

If we don’t realize that what impresses on earth is unimpressive in heaven, we will believe a lie and miss out on the Lord. What people naturally value is not the same as what God values. Therefore, we must look to the word and see what the Lord desires if we are to live a life that pleases him. Luke 16:19-31

While we all know we ought to pray, we often aren’t really sure how to do so effectively. Jesus provides a simple guide for his disciples to understand how they ought to pray, and it would be wise for us to learn it and then do it! Luke 11:1-13

Everyone experiences discouragement, but those who are in Christ should always take heart because the Lord has provided for us a straightforward remedy: diligent, heartfelt prayer.  Luke 18:1-14

Jesus teaches this parable to reveal that true disciples will continually live in obedience to serving what God has entrusted to them for the Kingdom until He returns. Matthew 25:14-30.

While many people claim to be Christians, far fewer can actually define what that means or how they can really know if they are. Fortunately, Jesus describes with precision what it means to know him, i.e., to be a Christian, and it’d be wise to listen and heed his words. Matthew 7:21-29.

Your greatest need is to recognize your need for God’s forgiveness and to experience his forgiveness! When someone experiences the freedom of being forgiven, it can and will lead to a profound and lasting change in their life. Luke 7:35-50

When we look around, we can get disheartened, discouraged, angry, and even confused. It is only when we look up that we’ll be able to see the truth and find the hope we’re looking for in the midst of hardship and discouragement. 1 Peter 1:3-12

Jesus makes it clear what the cost of discipleship is. And this morning as we look at who this call is to, what it prohibits, and what it demands we see the great calling that it is to be a disciple of Christ. Luke 14:25-35.
