Friends,Over the previous year I've had a handful of conversations with Republican voters in Ottawa County to help me better understand a question that has been on repeat for me since 2023: What Happened to my Ottawa GOP?!Since Ottawa Impact, a far-right political action group, swept the majority of the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners in 2023 they've made a number of sweeping decisions that has left voters across the political spectrum on a razor's edge. The self-styled "vetted" Republicans have made poor decisions which have led to a handful of lawsuits and cost tax-payers nearly $1 million dollars. Their constant exclusion and derision of those who differ from them has voters and candidates alike reminding them that Ottawa County is a place where everyone belongs.What you'll hear on this podcast mini-series is simply a compilation of unedited long-format interviews with Republican elected officials and candidates pushing back against the machinations o
