From Trumpets to Tabernacles: The End of Drift (Part 2 of 2)

The Life of Moses- Episode #37 (Part 2 of 2)  🎺 Most people don’t walk away from God in a moment of rebellion… they drift.Slowly. Quietly. Almost unnoticed. That’s why I love the Hebrew feast days in Leviticus 23: they’re not random traditions; they’re divine appointments designed to interrupt our lives and bring us back to God with clarity and tenderness. In this episode, we walk through the final three biblical feast days—The Feast of Trumpets, the Days of Awe, the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot)—and uncover the powerful progression they reveal:Awakening.Repentance.Cleansing.Dwelling.These feasts are not random traditions—they are a divine pattern. A call to wake up, return to God, receive what He has already accomplished, and learn to remain in His presence. We’ll explore the deep meaning behind the shofar’s call, the weight of repentance, the significance of atonement, and the joy of dwelling with God—along with the powerful ways Jesus fulfills each of these moments. If you’ve felt distracted, distant, or spiritually numb… this is an invitation back. Not just to hear God’s voice—but to respond to it.Not just to be forgiven—but to dwell. If you’re longing for God’s presence, this is a pathway worth taking slowly.Subscribe to Whispers of Grace, share this with a friend who feels far from God, and leave a review others can find encouragement in Scripture.Key Scriptures:Leviticus 16, Leviticus 23 Joel 2 Hebrews 7:23–28 John 7:37–38 John 8:12 John 15:4–5 Hebrews 3:15Send me a text messageSupport the show

From Passover to Pentecost: The Gospel Hidden in the Feasts (Part 1 of 2)

The Life of Moses- Episode #36 (Part 1 of 2) 📆 In this episode we begin a two-part journey through the Hebrew Feast Days — the appointed times God established for Israel long before Christ walked the earth. But these feasts were never merely ancient Jewish traditions. They were prophetic rehearsals.Through Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, and Shavuot/Pentecost, we will walk the unfolding story of redemption hidden within the Biblical calendar itself.Together we’ll explore: • the Passover lamb and the four cups • the mystery of the afikomen • Christ resting in the grave during Unleavened Bread • Firstfruits and the promise of resurrection • Sinai, covenant, and the marriage language of Shavuot • Pentecost, fire from heaven, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit • the reversal of Babel through languages • and how God was quietly preaching the Gospel through symbols, harvests, bread, fire, and covenant long before the crossThe Spring Feasts reveal a breathtaking progression: Redemption. Cleansing. Resurrection. Empowerment.And together they point directly toward Jesus.Send me a text messageSupport the show

Strange Fire: Mistakes in Christian Service (part 4 of 4)

The Life of Moses- Episode #35 (Part 4 of 4) 🔥Sincerity sounds like the safest measure of faith, but Scripture keeps refusing that comfort. We’re closing our Exodus-shaped series on service with a hard, holy thread running from Genesis to the words of Jesus Himself: God is good, but He does not bend to our preferences, and worship on our terms is not the same as worship in truth. If you’ve ever thought “I meant well” was enough, these passages will lovingly unsettle you. We walk through Cain and Abel and why God weighs the heart behind the offering, not just the offering itself. Then we slow right down at the center of the message: Nadab and Abihu and their strange fire. It’s a sobering picture of what happens when consecrated people drift from reverence into self-expression, swapping obedience for what feels right in the moment. From there we revisit Uzzah and the Ark, where celebration and good intentions still miss God’s clear instructions, exposing how quickly we can center ourselves in worship and service. The tension doesn’t stay in the Old Testament. We move into Acts 5 with Ananias and Sapphira, where image outruns integrity and performance threatens the health of the church. Finally, we sit under Jesus’ warning in Matthew 7 about self-deception and the difference between knowing about Him and truly knowing Him. If you’re hungry for a faith marked by surrender, integrity, and real relationship, press play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review so more women can find Whispers of Grace.Send me a text messageSupport the show

Ordained To Serve: Exodus 29 And The Shape Of New Testament Ministry (Part 3 of 4)

The Life of Moses- Episode #34 (Part 3 of 4) 🐏 What if the most overlooked chapter in Exodus holds the clearest roadmap for ministry that doesn’t burn you out? We walk through Exodus 29 and discover how washing, clothing, anointing, and sacrifice form a pattern that still shapes a New Testament life of service grounded in grace, not grind. Unpack the threshold moment where Moses washes Aaron and his sons, pointing to Jesus who must wash us before we have any part with him. From there, we explore the priestly garments—stones over the heart, a headpiece that reads holy to the Lord—and how identity is bestowed, not achieved. The anointing oil takes centre stage next: lavish, fragrant, and fiercely guarded. In Christ, the Holy Spirit internalises what oil once signified—divine choosing, empowering, and setting apart. We talk about living as the fragrance of Christ in ordinary spaces, where authority flows from abiding presence, not platform. Then we slow down with the sacrifices: the sin offering taken outside the camp and fulfilled in Jesus, the burnt offering of total surrender, and the ordination blood on ear, thumb, and toe. Each act consecrates how we listen, what we do, and where we go, turning daily choices into holy ground. Finally, we lift the wave offering and sit at the ordination meal, a picture of fellowship before function. Abiding becomes the engine of fruitfulness—without it, effort curdles into self-salvation attempts. The seven-day repetition reminds us that God grows depth, not speed; formation is patient work that lasts. The chapter closes with the promise at the heart of Scripture: I will dwell among them. That’s the aim of every act of service—to make space for people to meet God, while we minister from connection, not exhaustion. If this speaks to your season, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find Whispers of Grace. What part of this pattern—washing, clothing, anointing, or abiding—do you need most today?Send me a text messageSupport the show

From Glue Guns to Glory: Method for Christian Service (Part 2 of 4)

The Life of Moses- Episode #33 (Part 2 of 4) 🎨 What if your most ordinary skill is the exact tool God wants to use today? We pick up our "Service" mini-series and move from the why of serving to the how, guided by the striking story of Bezalel and Aholiab in Exodus 35–36. These overlooked artisans were called by name, filled with the Spirit, and entrusted to craft beauty with precision for God’s dwelling. Their example reframes excellence as worship and reminds us that detail, design, and care are not extras in the Christian life—they’re part of faithful obedience. From there, we draw a line through the New Testament, spotlighting Mary’s surrendered praise, Elizabeth’s Spirit-given confirmation, Lydia’s courageous hospitality, Tabitha’s compassionate craft, and Priscilla’s wise mentorship. Many gifts, one Spirit; many methods, one Lord. Along the way, we challenge the false divide between “holy” and “human” talents and make a case that coding, organising, baking, and parenting can be Spirit-led ministry when offered to Jesus. We also share a quiet masterclass in hidden faithfulness from Robert Chapman, whose unseen service shaped giants like Spurgeon and Müller without chasing applause. You’ll walk away with a renewed why and a practical how: start small, hone your craft, teach what you know, and look for the need only you can meet. Whether you’re hosting a weary friend, discipling a new believer, or building systems that serve your church, the Holy Spirit delights to multiply your loaves and fish. If this resonates, subscribe, share with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review to help others find the show. Choosing Love Over Bitterness Changes Everything

*Special Episode* Outside of Sunday Women's Retreat --Part 2 of 2-- I was blessed to share at the Outside of Sunday Retreat in Spring 2025, here is the second recording.  Check out Christa Otter's ministry at  Outside of Sunday Podcast | ChristianWhere do you go when shame lingers and bitterness starts to feel justified? We open 1 John and Matthew 11 to find a path out of the dark and into a life marked by confession, courage, and a surprising kind of rest. I share how keeping short accounts with God lifts the labels we wear, restores joy, and makes space for the Spirit to do the work we can’t force on our own.We explore why John holds truth and love together—and what goes wrong when we tear them apart. You’ll hear how the Holy Spirit reframes failure, why hatred blinds even when we feel “right,” and how choosing love for a difficult person can actually remove a stumbling block from your own path. This isn’t about pretending pain away; it’s about bringing the raw story into the light so Jesus can carry the weight. Along the way, we talk practical steps: pausing to confess quickly, journaling what the Spirit surfaces, asking a friend to pray, and taking one hidden action of love where resentment wants the last word.Jesus’ invitation anchors the journey: come, take my yoke, learn from me. If your faith feels heavy, it may be a sign you’re pulling loads he never asked you to carry—image, control, old wounds, quiet grudges. The gentle and lowly heart of Christ meets you there and leads you back to lighted ground. Listen for a fresh vision of grace, biblical clarity on walking as Jesus walked, and a hopeful way to face the people and places that stretch you. If this message helps you breathe easier, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs courage today, and leave a quick review to help others find their way back to the light.Send me a text messageSupport the show

Spoiler: Hiding Under A Blanket Isn’t Sanctification

*Special Episode* Outside of Sunday Women's Retreat --Part 1 of 2--I was blessed to share at the Outside of Sunday Retreat in Spring 2025, here is the recording.  Check out Christa Otter's ministry at Outside of Sunday Podcast | Christian  Ever feel like you believe the right things but live without the joy you were promised? We open 1 John and get honest about the gap. John writes as an eyewitness who touched and followed Jesus, inviting us into koinonia—deep, shared life with God and one another—so that our joy may be full. Not a fleeting mood, but a calm delight anchored in truth. We unpack the line that changes everything: God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. That claim ends fence-sitting. If we say we walk with Him while clinging to shadows—comparison, bitterness, secret comforts—we feel like frauds because our lives and lips clash. The turning point isn’t willpower; it’s light. When we welcome the light, it reveals what wounds us and heals what binds us. Confession becomes more than a doorway to salvation. It becomes a daily habit that keeps fellowship warm, clears the fog of shame, and lets grace do its cleansing work.Across this conversation we explore how surrender reframes growth, why honest confession leads to freedom, and how joy rises when we stop hiding. Expect practical language, Scripture woven through, and stories that meet you where you are. If you’ve been carrying the weight of trying to look “together” while feeling empty, this is a gentle but clear call back to the heart of the gospel: bring everything into the light and let Jesus do what only He can do.If this spoke to you, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs hope today, and leave a quick review so more women can find these conversations. Beyond the Ash Heap: How Our Pain Can Become God's Platform

*Special Episode- Session #1 from a Women's retreat I recently taught. What happens when our world collapses around us? When suffering strikes without warning or explanation, our response reveals what truly lives in our hearts. Through the powerful contrasting stories of Job and Jonah, this episode explores the fundamental question: how can we glorify God through our pain? The glory of God—His honour, reverence, and splendor—isn't just some abstract concept. For believers, Scripture tells us we've become living temples containing God's glory at all times. Yet our actions and attitudes can either reveal or veil this divine presence. The crucial difference lies not in experiencing pain (both Job and Jonah suffered), but in how we process that pain—with God or apart from Him.Job lost everything—his children, wealth, health, and reputation—yet initially responded with astonishing faith: "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." Even when questioning God through his suffering, Job kept bringing his heartache directly to God. When God finally appeared, Job immediately repented and was restored to a place of honour as an intercessor. Contrast this with Jonah, who technically obeyed God's command to preach to Nineveh but remained bitter when God showed mercy to his enemies. Jonah missed participating in a beautiful revival because he couldn't surrender his anger and judgment.Where are you fixing your eyes when life falls apart? On yourself? On others? Or on Jesus? The answer determines not whether God will be glorified—He will be regardless—but whether you'll experience the profound joy of participating in His redemptive work. Today, make the choice to bring your wounds to the Healer rather than nursing them in isolation. Your pain might just become the very platform where God's glory shines brightest.Send me a text messageSupport the show

    Beholding, we Become

The Life of Moses- Episode #31 🌟 Have you ever noticed how something truly changes when it's been in the presence of light? Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I was fascinated by those glow-in-the-dark stars that would shine brightly after being "supercharged" against a light bulb. This childhood memory perfectly captures what happens when we spend time in God's presence—we begin to radiate with His light, often without even realizing it.In this deeply reflective exploration of Exodus 34, we witness Moses descending from Mount Sinai after 40 days and nights in God's presence. His face literally emitted beams of light so bright that the Israelites were afraid to approach him—yet remarkably, Moses himself was completely unaware of his transformation. This powerful image reveals the authentic nature of spiritual growth: those most transformed by God are often the least conscious of their own glow because they remain utterly focused on Him rather than themselves.Moses' supernatural fast during these 40 days demonstrates how God's presence can sustain us beyond natural human limitations. When we silence the loudest voices in our lives—our physical cravings, our anxieties, our self-consciousness—we create space to hear God's voice and receive His transforming power. As 2 Corinthians 3:18 reminds us, "as we behold Him, we become like Him." True spiritual transformation isn't about self-improvement techniques or proving our spirituality to others; it's the natural result of extended, intimate communion with our Creator. If you're feeling insufficient today, remember that your sufficiency comes not from yourself but from God who makes you enough. Press into His presence, supercharge your spirit through His Word, and watch as His light begins to shine through you—perhaps in ways you don't even notice yourself. Subscribe to Whispers of Grace for more encouragement as we continue our journey through the life of Moses and discover transformative truths for our own spiritual walks.Send me a text messageSupport the show

The Presence - Part 1 of 2: The Gift or The Giver?

The Life of Moses- Episode #29 🎁 What does it mean to truly encounter the presence of God? On this episode of "Whispers of Grace," we journey through the compelling narrative of Exodus 33, examining Moses' profound interactions with God. After the Israelites' devastating golden calf incident, Moses emerges as a beacon of divine pursuit, setting up his tent away from the camp to prioritize his relationship with God. His intentionality not only underscores the necessity of cultivating a direct and vibrant connection with the divine but also serves as a powerful model for leadership and spiritual intimacy that inspires future leaders like Joshua, who chose to dwell continually in God's presence. This episode invites you to reflect on the depth of your personal relationship with God, encouraging an introspective look at whether you seek the Giver more than His gifts. We delve into the transformative power of God's indwelling presence via the Holy Spirit, offering practical steps to nurture this intimacy. By drawing inspiration from Brother Lawrence's practice of God's presence, we explore ways to integrate a continual awareness of the divine into your daily life, amidst both blessings and distractions. Our conversation emphasizes the importance of active engagement with God through worship, nature, and the embrace of silence and stillness. In a world brimming with distractions, finding moments of silence and stillness becomes essential for deepening your spiritual awareness. Golden Calf - Part 1 of 4: From Impatience to Idolatry

The Life of Moses- Episode #25 🐂 What if our impatience with God's timing could lead us into dangerous spiritual territory? On this episode of Whispers of Grace, we uncover the hidden perils of idolatry through the story of the golden calf in Exodus 32:1-6. We kick off by exploring Paul's exhortations to the Corinthians, using the Israelites' experiences as a mirror to reflect on our own vulnerabilities. Humility is key, as we examine how feeling immune to idolatry can set us up for a fall, and how acknowledging our weaknesses brings us closer to Christ’s saving grace. We'll also journey back to Mount Sinai, where the Israelites' impatience and anxiety led them to create and worship a golden calf in Moses' absence. This act of idolatry, despite their firsthand experiences of God's miraculous power, serves as a potent reminder of the dangers of straying from confident expectation in God. Glory Thieves

The Life of Moses- Episode #24 🔆 What if we told you that recognizing yourself as merely an instrument in God's hands could transform your entire approach to life and worship? Welcome to Whispers of Grace! Today our discussion is rooted in Exodus 20:22-26, where we explore the significance of attributing all glory to God and examine the concept of "Glory Thieves" who mistakenly seek recognition for themselves.Journey with us as we delve into the themes of idolatry, altar construction, and humble worship. We'll uncover God's specific instructions to the Israelites about building altars from uncut stones and maintaining modesty during worship. Drawing on rich insights from Matthew Henry and Paul's teachings in Romans, we challenge ourselves to recognize how idolatry can subtly infiltrate our lives, urging us to seek validation in all the wrong places. This part of our discussion will truly make you question where you may be placing undue importance on worldly recognition. We wrap up by focusing on the teachings of Jesus from Matthew, chapter six, highlighting the importance of inner devotion over outward appearances. With personal experiences and biblical stories like that of Nadab and Abihu, we underscore the serious consequences of seeking attention in worship. Drawing on the allegory of Aslan's claws from "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," we encourage deep introspection and humility, reminding ourselves that true fulfillment and freedom come from God's love alone. This episode will leave you inspired to stand aside and give all the glory to God, steering clear of becoming a "glory thief".Send me a text messageSupport the show

    The Big Ten

The Life of Moses- Episode #23 ⚖️ Can personal desires truly guide us towards righteousness? Join us on this eye-opening episode of Whispers of Grace as we confront the pervasive issue of moral relativism, exploring how the societal shift away from absolute truths is creating chaos. We'll take a deep dive into Exodus, chapter 20, to understand how the Ten Commandments offer a foundation of divine guidance that stands in stark contrast to today's "individualistic truths." Through these ancient laws, we uncover the enduring relevance of God's standards in leading a life of true righteousness.Drawing from C.S. Lewis's keen observations on human behavior, we investigate the commonality of moral laws that are universally recognized, even in our daily disputes. Stories like Cain and Abel reveal that these truths are not just social constructs but are deeply embedded in our conscience, aligning with the natural order God created. This episode underscores the idea that moral principles are not just cultural artifacts, but divine imperatives meant for human well-being.Moving to the New Testament, we delve into the teachings of the Apostle Paul from the book of Romans, where we uncover the liberating power of grace and faith. Paul's insights reveal that righteousness by faith, as exemplified by Abraham, transcends mere adherence to laws. Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount challenges us to embody a deeper, Spirit-led righteousness. Finally, we reflect on how God's love, conveyed through moral absolutes, provides a stable foundation in a world teetering on the brink of confusion. Embrace the divine moral code and find true freedom in Christ's grace and love.Send me a text messageSupport the show

    Unified in Weakness

The Life of Moses- Episode #19  🤲  Have you ever thought that unity or fellowship wasn't worth the drama?  It's hard to be unified in this sinful and fallen world, even in the family of God...and sometimes *especially* in the family of God.  This episode focuses on the necessity of reaching out when we feel weak and encourages us to press in when we are overwhelmed and stretched.  Israel fights her first battle with Amalek, Moses gets tired, and the family of God rises to the occasion.  We will see connections between this Old Testament account and Jesus's high priestly prayer right before He went to the cross.  An exhortation and encouragement we all need to hear!*Exodus 17:8-16*To support the show:Whispers of Grace (Whispers of Grace) (buzzsprout.com)Send me a text messageSupport the show

    Sabbath

The Life of Moses- Episode #17 😌 Do we have enough faith to rest?  Rest is intrinsic to the cycles God has designed for us.  Rest must be planned, set aside and protected.  Ceasing from work is so essential to our lives that God inscribed it as a permanent law for his people in the 10 commandments.  This episode examines God's very first official Sabbath instituted for Israel.  We will contextually examine the Sabbath during the time of Moses, trace it through the time of Jesus and then look at what it means for New Testament believers.  It is so good to remember why we need rest and how Jesus fulfills the Sabbath.  *Exodus 16:22-35*Send me a text messageSupport the show
