Faith & Finance Live - Before You Borrow
Before you borrow, it’s worth asking what the debt may cost beyond the interest rate. Debt can affect your budget, your marriage, your margin, and your ability to respond freely when God leads. Heartfelt Radio Pastor's Corner - 2026-07-01 Don't Let Yesturdays Miracle Become Todays Rot - Pastor Jacob Young
In this edition of The Pastor's Corner on Heartfelt Mornings, Pastor Jacob Young explores Exodus 16 and the powerful lesson behind God's provision of manna in the wilderness. The Israelites were instructed to gather only what they needed each day, trusting God to provide again tomorrow. When they held on to yesterday's manna, it spoiled. Pastor Jacob unpacks the spiritual symbolism of this miracle, challenging us to consider whether we're relying on yesterday's blessings, experiences, or victories instead of seeking God's fresh provision for today.Join us for an encouraging conversation about daily dependence on God, renewed faith, and why His mercies are new every morning. Don't miss this timely reminder that God isn't calling us to live on yesterday's miracle, he's inviting us to trust Him for today's.

Answers with Ken Ham - Copying God’s Design
This is Ken Ham, an Aussie transplant with a passion for sharing the truth of God’s Word. As we learned earlier this week, there’s a growing number of people who think artificially intelligent machines are the next step in human evolution—some think they might even replace us or rule over us. But AI isn’t evolving and it’s not the next step in our supposed evolution. Artificial intelligence is an example of biomimicry. This is when humans copy God’s superior designs in their technology. By studying and trying to copy the way our brains learn, and programming machines to learn the same way, we’re simply copying God’s amazing design. Life did not evolve—and it’s not evolving now! Wisdom for the Heart - A New Obsession (Romans 8:5–11)
Share a commentYour mind is already set on something. The only question is whether it is setting you up for life and peace or quietly training you for death. We start with a hard but clarifying claim from Scripture: there are friends of the world, and there are friends of God. If we truly belong to Christ, we are not just religious consumers of spiritual ideas, we are meant to walk in friendship with the Holy Spirit, the faithful presence who leads, corrects, protects, and empowers us. From Romans 8:5-11, we trace Paul’s contrast between two mindsets and two destinies. This is not about IQ or personality type. It is about what we crave, what we return to, and what occupies our private thoughts. We talk through the “desire quotient” and why your deepest wants reveal your real direction, then we use vivid stories to expose how obsession works, from noble pursuits to ridiculous ones. If what you love is what you become, what is forming you right now? The stakes get even higher as Paul connects the mind set on the flesh with death and hostility toward God, while the mind set on the Spirit produces life and peace. We also land on one of the most hope-filled promises in the New Testament: the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to our mortal bodies. The result is both sobering and comforting, especially when we consider what people trust in at the end of life. The Wisdom Journey - “Lord, Teach us How to Pray” (Matthew 6:7-15)
Share a commentPrayer can drift into noise: repeated lines, rushed words, and a subtle attempt to impress God or ourselves. We slow down in Matthew 6 and let Jesus correct that instinct, starting where he starts: God is our Father, not an audience. When Jesus warns against “empty phrases,” he’s not attacking persistence, he’s exposing mindless repetition and the belief that many words earn a response. Real prayer begins with relationship and reverence, where God’s name is treated as holy and our lives reflect the family name we carry as Christians. From there, the disciples’ prayer reshapes our priorities. We explore what “Your kingdom come” means both for the future return of Christ and for the present rule of God in our hearts. “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” becomes a bold request for immediate obedience, not delayed compliance, and it challenges the way we often pray for our plans to win. The model keeps us grounded, too: “Give us this day our daily bread” invites daily dependence for real needs, not just spiritual ones, and it trains us to trust God one day at a time.We also tackle the hard, freeing line about forgiveness, clarifying why forgiving others doesn’t earn salvation, but does protect fellowship with God and restore relationships with people who wrong us. Finally, we ask God for practical help against temptation and for deliverance from evil, ending with a closing that puts the spotlight back where it belongs: God’s kingdom, power, and glory. If you want a clearer, calmer, more biblical approach to Christian prayer, listen through and then subscribe, share, and leave a review so more people can find the series. Answers with Ken Ham - Fighting the Curse
This is Ken Ham, author, speaker, and blogger on science and the Bible’s reliability. As Christians, God’s Word must shape our thinking in all areas—including technology! You see, technologies like AI aren’t inherently bad—they’re just tools. They can be used for evil or to help us fight against the effects of the curse. In Genesis, we’re charged with ruling over God’s creation. Technology helps us develop new ways to care for creation while working for man’s good. While technology has some great benefits, we shouldn’t put our hope in it. It can temporarily fight the curse, but the only permanent solution is faith in Jesus Christ who will someday create a new heaven and earth. Dig Deeper AI: Useful Tool or Existential Threat? Faith & Finance - 6 Financial Choices That Can Shape Your Future
1 Corinthians 4:2 says, “Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” Faithful stewardship does not happen by accident. The choices we make with money can either create unnecessary pressure or help us manage God’s resources with wisdom, margin, and faithfulness. Here are six financial choices that can help us steward well what God has entrusted to us. 1. Spend With a Plan Proverbs 27:23 says, “Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds.” For us, that means knowing what is coming in, what is going out, and whether our spending reflects our values. Without a plan, money tends to drift. A budget helps us practice faithfulness with what God has provided. A spending plan is not about restriction for its own sake. It is about clarity. It helps us make decisions with purpose instead of simply reacting to whatever feels urgent in the moment. 2. Choose the Right Car for Your Budget Most of us need reliable transportation. We need to get from point A to point B safely. But it is easy to confuse reliable transportation with a vehicle that strains the budget. According to Kelley Blue Book, the average new vehicle transaction price was more than $49,000. Experian reports that the average monthly payment for a new vehicle reached $770. And that is before insurance, fuel, maintenance, repairs, and depreciation. At FaithFi, we generally prefer being free and clear of car debt when possible. That may mean buying used, driving a car longer, or choosing function over status. The point is not to impress others with what we drive. The goal is to get where we need to go safely and wisely. 3. Count the Cost Before Taking on Debt Proverbs 22:7 says, “The borrower is the slave of the lender.” That does not mean all borrowing is sinful. But borrowing should never be treated casually. If we go into debt, we should make sure the economic benefit outweighs the cost. The question is not simply, “Can I afford the payment?” A better question is, “Will this strengthen my financial position, or will it create more pressure later?” Debt often makes today feel easier while making tomorrow more difficult. Wise stewardship requires us to look beyond the monthly payment and consider the long-term cost. 4. Prepare for the Unexpected Cars break down. Medical bills come. Jobs change. Homes need repairs. Proverbs 21:20 says, “Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man’s dwelling, but a foolish man devours it.” Saving is not hoarding when it is done with humility and wisdom. An emergency fund can help us avoid high-interest debt and make decisions prayerfully rather than desperately. Preparedness does not mean we are trusting in money instead of God. It means we are stewarding what He has provided so we can respond wisely when needs arise. 5. Choose Housing That Leaves Margin Homeownership can be a worthy goal, but owning a home is not the definition of financial faithfulness. Renting is not a waste when it provides affordable shelter and flexibility. The danger comes when we feel pressured to buy simply to say we have “made it.” If the payment is too large, we may become house poor—owning a home but lacking margin for giving, saving, repairs, utilities, food, transportation, and other necessities. We typically recommend keeping housing costs at 25-30% of take-home pay. We also generally recommend a 20% down payment when possible. But the goal is not simply to get into a house. The goal is

Max Lucado Daily Devotional - Pray About Your Problems
Listen to Today's Devotion The moment you sense a problem, however large or small, take it to Christ. “Max, if I take my problems to Jesus every time I have one, I’m going to be talking to Jesus all day long.” Now you’re getting the point. An unprayed for problem is an embedded thorn. It festers and infects the finger, then the hand, then the entire arm. Best to go straight to the person who has the tweezers. We can only wonder how many disasters would be averted if we first go to Jesus. Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything. Instead pray about everything.” Tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. Here’s my challenge for you: every day for four weeks, pray four minutes. Then get ready to connect with God like never before. Read more Before Amen: The Power of a Simple Prayer For more inspirational messages please visit Max Lucado.

The Christian Working Woman - Lamenting – 2
Presented by Julie Busteed Have you ever dreamed and planned for a future only to have it not work out? In John 4, we see Jesus encounter someone who knew that feeling well. Jesus and his disciples were traveling from Jerusalem back to Galilee. Instead of avoiding Samaria, as most Jews did because of the deep division between Jews and Samaritans, Jesus chose to go through it. Around midday, tired and thirsty, he stopped at Jacob’s well while his disciples went into town for food. A Samaritan woman came to draw water at the hottest part of the day. Most women came in the cool morning hours, but she came when she expected no one else to be there. Later we learn why: she had been married five times, and the man she was living with was not her husband. Her life likely had not turned out the way she had imagined. She may have carried shame, disappointment, loneliness, or a sense that she would never escape the cycle she was in. Then she encountered Jesus. She was surprised a Jewish man would even speak to her. But Jesus breaks barriers. Their conversation began with physical water, but Jesus quickly turned it toward spiritual things, offering her living water that would become a spring of water welling up to eternal life. At first, she misunderstood him and asked for this water so she would no longer have to return to the well by herself in the heat of the day. But as the conversation continued, she realized Jesus knew everything about her life. Instead of condemning her, he revealed himself to her. When she spoke about the coming Messiah, Jesus told her plainly, I who speak to you am he. This is the first recorded time Jesus openly identified himself as the Messiah, and he did so not to religious leaders in Jerusalem, but to a Samaritan woman at a well. Her response was immediate. She returned to town and told everyone, Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ? John tells us many Samaritans believed because of her testimony, and many more believed after hearing Jesus for themselves. They declared he truly was the Savior of the world. This Samaritan woman who was living a life she probably didn’t dream of or plan for, now had hope and purpose because of her meeting with Jesus. Once she realized who he was, she couldn’t help but tell others who he was and what he had done for her. Whatever shame or embarrassment she previously felt, fell away. I think there must have been a visible difference in her manner and appearance, because the people listened to her and came out to meet Jesus and hear from him. An unlikely meeting between a Jewish rabbi and a Samaritan woman led many people to faith. And what first drew her to believe was not a miracle or a sign, but the realization that Jesus fully knew her and still offered her grace. Maybe just like this woman your dreams and plans are not happening as you expected. Maybe you’re grieving unfulfilled dreams. You are filled with disappointment, sorrow, and loneliness. Please know God sees you. He hears your cries of lament. He has a purpose and a plan, and it’s better than you can imagine. It just might not happen in your timing. Continue to trust in him, to offer him praise because of who he is, to walk daily with him. He is your only true source of peace and joy.

A Word With You - Dangerously Blind - #10297
New York City is a bit of a shock to any first-time visitor. It’s especially jarring for someone who has spent her whole life on an Indian Reservation. Now, Linda was from the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and she was part of our ministry’s Native American Youth Outreach Team that we call “On Eagles' Wings.” She was able to see New York from a distance at first. There’s the Empire State Building, there’s the skyline, and she said she wanted to see it all up close. Ha! Well, that may have changed now that she has seen it up close. See, she went in with us when I spoke in the city one night and the traffic and the crowds; man, they were all over the place and they made her feel like maybe she was on a battlefield without a helmet. She also found certain aspects of the city exciting and she might go back. But as our team was driving along the Hudson River, we were headed for the George Washington Bridge and Linda must have been reflecting on her life on the reservation for a minute because she just looked up into the Big Apple sky and said two words, “No stars.” I’m Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about “Dangerously Blind.” Our word for today from the Word of God comes from 2 Corinthians 4:4. It’s a very revealing statement from God’s perspective. “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God.” Basically, what’s this saying? There is heavenly light that God wants you to see. It’s the Good News of the glory of His Son, Jesus Christ. And what’s the Good News? Jesus loves you very much. He proved it by paying the sin penalty that you deserved when He died on the cross. He demonstrated His unbeatable power when He blew the doors off His grave and rose from the dead, and so Jesus is all the love, and all the meaning, and all the peace you’ve been looking for all these years. But there’s a problem with God’s light. It’s the same problem our Navajo friend had seeing those stars in New York City. The earth lights blinded her to the heavenly light. When that happens to people spiritually, they can literally miss Jesus and miss God’s love, and miss heaven forever. This says that the god of this world, who is the devil, has blinded our minds. We’re surrounded by a lot of earth lights that blind us to the much brighter light of God. We’re blinded by the lights of making money, or having fun, or important relationships, or busy schedules, even our religion. And we just keep ignoring Jesus, or postponing Jesus, or forgetting Jesus. We’re blinded. The devil, whose goal it is to destroy you, will use anything or anyone he can to keep you from seeing and following Jesus. His intention is very simple - to block your view of the real light until you’ve passed the point of no return. But today, maybe right now, the light is breaking through. This could be your God day. You could tell Him right where you are, “Lord, I have run my life long enough. You are supposed to run my life. You gave it to me, and I’m tired of this sin wall that’s been between us. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ, died to take that wall away to pay for my sin. And beginning this moment, Jesus, I’m Yours.” I hope you'll take that step so you can be sure you belong to Him and secure your eternity once and for all. That's what our website's there for. It's ANewStory.com. And it would be a great place to anchor to as you cross over, as the Bible says, "from death to life" today. I hope you'll go there. For this moment, God has taken you away from the blinding light of all that earth stuff and all those earth people so you could get one clear look at the light of Jesus Christ. Now in the words of the Bible, “Seek the Lord while He may be found.”

Life Issues - “I Cannot Swear Under Oath
A famous abortionist who alleged that abortion pill reversal is dangerous and ineffective was asked to testify in an ongoing lawsuit. Despite his bold claims in the past, once he was under oath he sang a different song. He was repeatedly asked if he could swear under oath that abortion pill reversal does not work. As he attempted to give non-answers and dodge the question, he was asked very directly, a simple yes or no. Does abortion pill reversal work? Eventually, he had to admit that he could not swear under oath that abortion pill reversal does not work. If he had, he would have committed perjury. Thousands of babies across the country have had their precious lives saved through APR.

Keys for Kids - daily devotions and Bible stories ... - God’s Word and Glasses
Read: Psalm 119:129-133 “How about this pair, Mom?” Lizzie asked. She slid the glasses onto her face and peeked in the eye doctor’s mirror. “Those look nice on you.” Mom held up another pair. “But try these frames on first before you decide which ones you want.” “Isn’t it funny,” Lizzie said as she stared at her reflection, “how much we care about how the glasses look when they’re actually just to help me see!” “That reminds me of something I read in my Bible this morning,” Mom said. “Remember what happened when your old glasses broke and you went to school without them?” Lizzie nodded. “I tripped on the steps because I couldn’t see.” “Right. Well, just like glasses, we need God’s Word to help us see clearly. The Bible helps us see how much we need Jesus to save us from sin and shows us how to live as God’s children. But our glasses can’t help us if we don’t wear them.” Lizzie thought of her Bible sitting at home on her nightstand. She left it out because she liked the way her new pink Bible looked with her pink room decorations, but she hadn’t opened it in quite a while. “I guess the Bible won’t do me much good if I don’t read it,” Lizzie said. “I’m going to try to start reading some verses every day.” Mom smiled. “That’s great! As we read God’s Word, He’ll use it to shape our hearts and help us focus on Jesus and the hope we have in Him.” Later that week Mom and Lizzie returned to the doctor’s office to pick up her new glasses. “Wow!” Lizzie said as she looked around. “Having new glasses really makes a difference!” She remembered how earlier that week she had read a verse about showing God’s love to others during her devotions. When she had felt angry at school because of a friend’s mean words, she reminded herself of the verse. It helped her not say something mean back. Mom was right, she thought. God used His Word to help me see what He wanted me to do in that situation. Lizzie smiled and reached up to touch her new frames. Just like glasses. –Jessica Kleeberger How about you? Have you ever needed to get glasses? It’s fun to pick out nice frames, but the true purpose of glasses isn’t to make you look good—it’s to help you see! Our Bibles shouldn’t be decorations either. They are God’s special words that tell us the story of Jesus and how He died and rose again to give us eternal life. Through the Bible, we can clearly see our need for Him and how He wants us to live. Today’s key verse: How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. Psalm 119:9 (NIV) Today’s key thought: God’s Word helps us see clearly

Wisdom for the Heart - Introducing . . . The Holy Spirit (Romans 8:2–4)
Share a commentFreedom is one of the most overused words in Christian conversation, and one of the most misunderstood. We open Romans 8:2 and slow down on Paul’s phrase “the Spirit of Life,” because that single title explains why believers can be honest about ongoing struggle with sin while still living with real, present-tense liberation. We are not promised a life with zero battles, but we are promised a new ruling power that breaks the old “law of sin and death” and removes condemnation through Jesus Christ. We also get practical about who the Holy Spirit is. Not an energy. Not a vibe. Not a spiritual add-on. Scripture describes Him as a divine Person who can be resisted, grieved, quenched, obeyed, lied to, and even insulted. That personhood changes how we pray, how we repent, how we read the Bible, and how we think about spiritual growth and sanctification. Along the way, we clarify a common confusion about the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are equal in essence, while carrying out different roles in perfect harmony. Then we move from doctrine to the daily walk. Romans 8:4 points to a life that does not “walk according to the flesh” but “according to the Spirit,” and we talk about the passive work God does in us and the active surrender we choose in ordinary moments. One clear test rises to the top: the Spirit loves to glorify Jesus, so Spirit-led living puts the spotlight on Christ, not on us. A powerful prison story closes the conversation with a reminder that God often prepares the next step before we even know what to do. If this helped you think clearly about the Holy Spirit, walking in the Spirit, and Christian freedom in Romans 8, subscribe for more, share this with a friend, and leave a review that tells us what line you can’t stop thinking about.Explore all of our Biblically Faithful Resources at https://www.wisdomonline.org Learn more: https://www.wisdomonline.org/Support the show

The Wisdom Journey - Religious Clowns and Circus Performances (Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18)
Share a commentA childhood memory of the Ringling-era circus sets up a sharp question: what if the biggest show isn’t under a tent, but in our own religious habits? We take Jesus’ words in Matthew 6 seriously as he confronts the Pharisees and exposes a temptation that still feels painfully current: turning spiritual life into theater. The warning is simple and unsettling, “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them.”We unpack why Jesus uses terms tied to acting, masks, and performance. The problem isn’t that faith is visible; it’s that visibility becomes the goal. From giving that “sounds a trumpet” to prayers timed for the busiest street corners, to fasting that broadcasts misery for sympathy, each practice shows how easily good disciplines become a way to gain attention, approval, or a sense of superiority. Along the way, we talk about the subtle pressure to “measure up,” including how even Bible reading can become a brag instead of a joy.We end with two questions that cut through the noise and bring spiritual clarity: What’s my motive, and who’s my audience? If you already have God’s love through Christ, you don’t have to prove anything. If God is the one you’re speaking to, serving for, and living before, you can drop the mask and breathe again. Wisdom for the Heart - The King's Pardon (Romans 8:1)
Share a commentA single sentence from Romans 8:1 can feel too good to be true, which is exactly why we slow down and read it like a royal decree: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” We follow Paul’s logic from the reality of sin and deserved judgment to the shock of a full pardon that is not earned, not delayed, and not reserved for “the really mature” believers. The promise is present tense. The word “now” means you do not have to wait until heaven to find out whether you’re accepted by God.We also tackle why that kind of grace is so hard for people to accept. Penance shows up everywhere: dramatic rituals, religious checklists, and the everyday American version of salvation by “good deeds outweigh bad deeds.” Even our best intentions can become a quiet attempt to pay God back. We unpack why the gospel refuses that system, pointing instead to the blood of Christ, justification, and the finished work of the cross as the only foundation for forgiveness and assurance. Then we dig into the phrase “in Christ Jesus” and use Noah’s ark as a vivid picture of eternal security: safety is not about hanging on harder, but about being placed inside God’s refuge while judgment falls on the substitute. We close with two practical results of the king’s pardon: guilt about the past loses its voice, and anxiety about the future loses its grip. If this gave you clarity or comfort, subscribe, share it with a friend who feels stuck in spiritual fear, and leave a review so more people can find the message.Explore all of our Biblically Faithful Resources at https://www.wisdomonline.org Learn more: https://www.wisdomonline.org/Support the show
