Mirror Mirror Network, located on 2623 Lebanon Pike, will be closing their doors on their space after four years with a final show this Monday (Aug 24) featuring performances from DJ Afrosheen and The Serpenteens. Englishmen Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook were teenagers in the '70s when they first wrote a concept album set in an American club called Trixies. The project was shelved and Squeeze took off as a band with a different sonic style. But the 13 songs that make up Trixies have now been revived, re-recorded and produced with integrity and intention. Before the band starts their American tour at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on August 16, we had Chris Difford On The Record with WNXP.

Back in 2024, Miles Kane walked into Easy Eye Sound Studio for the first time. The English singer/songwriter & musician reached out and wanted to work with Dan Auerbach, who he would admire his work from afar, but never met him before.When he reached out wanting to see if he was up for doing writing session and Kane thought they would just write a song that he can take back home for an album. As Kane walked into the studio kitchen he remembers seeing two acoustic guitars on the chairs with two notepads. On that first day, they finished three songs including "My Love" and "Love is Cruel" featured on Sunlight in the Shadows. Where We Meet explores themes of resilience, healing, connection and transformation with movement and visual storytelling through aerial and contemporary ballet and an exhibition from Nashville artist Omari Booker. Leeds band Yard Act recorded their third LP, You're Gonna Need A Little Music, in two separate, months-apart sessions in the U.K. and L.A. split by a tour opening for The Hives. The result is 11 tracks that jump around from the group's trademark English snark -- what singer and lyricist James Smith says is the album's "cynical core" -- to more sun-kissed, optimistic melodies all recorded live in-studio together. Kwame Lillard was a Nashville Civil Rights Leader and Freedom Rider who started the African American Cultural Alliance in 1983 because he wanted a place to promote the positive aspects of African culture through music, history, poetry, food, and dance. Sherwyn and his twin brother Kendrick was born in Brooklyn before his family moved to Nashville. It was here where he got his first bass, his dad would take him to see jazz shows at 3rd and Lindsley, his older brothers would take him to Limelight, and where him and his twin started making music. Madison Cunningham's third full-length release, Ace, came out in October 2025 and she performed at Nashville's The Blue Room on two consecutive nights this March. On the second show day, the Grammy-winning artist stopped by WNXP to discuss the intention and execution of Ace, which was recorded in Upstate New York in one of the "best times of [her] life." In addition to the album's duet "Wake" with Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold, Cunningham has recently collaborated on records with WNXP favorites Whitney, Lucius, Deep Sea Diver and Andrew Bird.
