Wonky Kids And Everything Season 2 Episode 1: College Isn't For Everyone

We have officially entered into season two of our podcast! As this school year reaches an end we see and hear a lot of people we know or know of trying to decide on their future. Whether they want to go to college or not. But the truth is, college isn't for everyone. As a parent, as you pushing your narrative or God's path for your kids or loved ones? It's hard to let go and trust that God will take care of you child on their path, THEIR path. Today, we get into how it's okay if you go to college, but it is also okay if you don't. College doesn't define you and and not going to college also doesn't define you. Maybe you have been struggling with what to do in college or what field you want to go in as you may be reaching decision or graduation time. That could be your answer that you were not meant for what college can offer. That the other plan that God offers you and has for you. So many parents threaten their children with "If you don't go to college we will......", but is that right? No, we are to guide our children and pray for them, but going or not going to college is not going to define their life. What will define their life is the path they have with the Lord and we should be focusing as much on their salvation as we try to do about their education or lack there of. We hope you enjoy!Don't forget to Follow, Like, Subscribe!Thank you for watching!

Wonky Kids and Everything Season 1 Episode 10: Being a Farmer's Wife

We have officially released 10 episodes! So to end this season we are discussing what it is like to be a farmer's wife. We love this life that we have been blessed with, but this lifestyle is not for everyone and that is okay. For us though, we wouldn't trade it for the world. Being a farmer's wife can take some getting used to, especially if you are not familiar with this lifestyle. There is no set time clock, there are no set events, there are no set date nights or set meal times for them. Everything is according to the weather as Pa would say, and that is very true. When the weather is right, especially during the right season, it is go time! Being a farmer's wife is so rewarding though, not in material things but just in the life that God is blessing you with. I have have seen some of the hardest working people with a love and dedication that is unmatched in this lifestyle. The dedication, work ethic, and passion that farmer's have is something to strive for. We would not trade being a farmer's wife for anything and neither would our family. We hope you enjoy this episode!Thank you for listening!Don't forget to like and subscribe!

Wonky Kids and Everything Season 1 Episode 9: Faith-Driven Relationships, Testament, & Belly Laughs

This episode might be one of our favorites thus far! Today, we are welcomed by one of Jill's best friends, Alaina. Alaina shares some of her personal struggles and how God has used those struggles to bring her closer to Him. Her story inspires us to keep going and to always know that even while we are struggling, God never lets us go. His mercy, grace, and compassion is something we are so undeserving of but He continues to extend it. Alaina reminds us of this and how God is using her to spread this message and His message of salvation and forgiveness. She has also been a light to our family and my kids. She is the missing piece that we didn't know we needed and have needed for a long time. God truly does bring us the right people at the right time. It is hard to find God-centered friendships, but when you do, hold on because the journey ahead is so powerful through God's blessings you won't know what to do with yourself. When you sit us down, we have a lot in common, but also we make up for where each other may need a boost. She is a wonderful gift giver, whereas I (Jill) am horrible in that area. On the other hand, when it comes to food, I (Jill) can fix the meal that she requests. Iron sharpens Iron. Then, to wrap up the evening we have a fun game where we are questioned with maybe just a few laughs! P.S./Heads-up: My (Jill) ADHD was at PEAK tonight from being so excited!Thank you again for watching and listening! Wonky Kids and Everything Season 1 Episode 8: Growing As We Go - Advice, Maturing, Lessons Learned

As you might can tell our scenery is a little different and we are one person short this episode. Mama (Donna) and Tru are currently sick with the flu, but we still wanted to give you all an episode. I hope I can do this episode justice since we are missing the better half of Wonky Kids.I tried to pick a topic that I could do, hopefully, decent by myself. In todays episode I chose to talk about what it was like to get married young. I got married at 18 (NOT because of pregnancy), but because I found the one God made for me, and I for him. Marriage is a constant growing process for you both and with your relationship with God. I share some things I wish I would have known, but also have grown from. Advice I would give to those thinking of marriage or even starting to pursue a new relationship. I touch on what God asks of us entering into marriage and how we should proceed. I share lessons I have learned and that even though I went through tough times due to my own actions, I can now take that and move forward. Learn from it. Grow from it and not to loose sight of God, who I am in Him, and who He calls me to be. Not only as a daughter of the King, but as a wife. I hope this episode helps someone and to have Mama well/healthy by the next episode!Thank you for watching!

Wonky Kids and Everything Season 1 Episode 7: What It Means To Be A Christian (Just the Surface)

We have made it to Episode 7! In today's episode, we touch the just surface on what it means to be a Christian and how to be a Christian. None of us are perfect, but after we accept Christ into our life we have a new mission. A life long mission. We are to be as Christ-like as possible and to spread His word to build His Kingdom. We are called to carry our cross every single day. Again, those are just scraping the surface of what we are to do and be as a Christian. Those are some of the most important and key points though. Being apart of God's army is not easy though, it is wonderful and full of joy to, but not easy. We were never told it would be easy, that doesn't mean we are to run away from our mission and calling as one of His children though. The enemy wants us to cower away and to stop in fear (because fear only comes from the enemy, not the Lord) when he tries to throw a kink in us fulfilling God's plan and purpose. But what he forgets and is too stupid to realize is that there is no stopping God's plan and purpose. What God wills can't and won't be stopped. Once we accept Christ into our life, we have a calling. Today, we touch on how we are to go about that, what we are called to do, things we might encounter, situations to avoid, actions we are to turn away from, and just a little bit on everything that might come with being a Christian. The topic on "What It Means To Be A Christian", could turn into many episodes because there is so much that we could cover so this is a little bit of a lengthy episode, but worth a listen in our opinion. We hope you enjoy todays episode!Don't forget to Like and Subscribe!Thank you for listening!

Wonky Kids and Everything Season 1 Episode 6: Friendships, Sleepytime Tea and Everything In Between

Todays episode was going to be centered around friendships and how some have seasons. Some may last for a short season while others may last a lifetime. While that was a major topic in todays episode, we might have gone down several other roads to. Sometimes those make the best conversations though. Our conversation goes from friends, sleeping remedies, and everything in between. We hope you enjoy todays episode! Thank you for being here!Don't forget to Like and Subscribe!

Wonky Kids and Everything Episode 5: Tru Entertainment

Today, we have the long awaited episode featuring Tru! Tru has been asked multiples times to come on the podcast, not just by us but many people that see him on a regular basis. For this episode we are in the Blue Ridge Mountains! This year for Christmas we collectively decided to go on a family vacation and just make some memories! I think we have found our new Christmas tradition!Back to the episode, Tru sits down with us today to have a chill conversation that includes a little about his life, what he wants to do when he grows up, and what he has thought about our trip. Tru is a lot like the character Sheldon Cooper from "Young Sheldon" , very smart, blunt, caring in his own way, and a comical dry sense of humor is hard to rival. We hope everyone enjoys this episode and his the kid genius himself!

Wonky Kids and Everything Episode 4: Testimonies

In today's episode we share our testimonies and how we both came to know Christ. While one story is growing up in church, knowing who God was and had many Godly role models that poured the Love of the Lord into her, the other story is on the complete other end of the spectrum. Partying, problems with alcohol, abusive childhood, and so much more, she starting seeking God and God saved her as well. This episode shows how each persons walk to and with the Lord is completely different, but equally as important. The events that lead us to the moment we accept Christ remind us of what brought us to Him, but the most important part of the story isn't what you have or have not come through. It is that you chose to accept the Lord, that you have now chosen to walk with Him and for Him, not the world. You have now chosen that your eternal destination will be with Him in Heaven. Your salvation story, as we like to call it, doesn't have to be dramatic by any sense to be any less special. Each walk and story is beautiful, not because of us or anything we have or haven't done. But because Jesus died on the cross for us and for our sins. There has and never will be anything more beautiful. It is Christ who makes the story beautiful, not us. When you are hearing others sharing their testimony, do not feel that yours is any less than or not relevant because you did not come out of the pits of hell in order to find God. Again, each persons walk is different, unique, and special not because of us, but because of Christ. Because He sent His son, Jesus to save us from ourselves. We hope you enjoy this episode and that God uses us for His will.

Wonky Kids and Everything Episode 3 (Not 4): Finding a Church

In this episode we talk about the real and raw parts of finding a church. We are both in the continual process of finding a home church and it is not for the weak. Episode three entails us diving into what we look for when searching for a home church, red flags that may come about when looking, aspects that involved more of your children, and so much more. God must be the epicenter when searching for a church and what He wants, not what we want. Church is not the building you are gathering in, but The Body of Believers. If you are currently searching for a home church, just know you are not in it alone. First and foremost, God is there with you, you just have to seek Him. Secondly, we understand how frustrating it can be at times, the highs and lows of it. But know that God will lead you where He is calling you if you are truly seeking Him.Also, there was some debate about if this was episode 3 or 4, but after looking, Mama was right. It is in fact, episode 3!

Wonky Kids and Everything Episode 2: Childhood

In this episode, we dive into our childhood. It is a little bit longer, but we go into what makes us, us. How God can bring you through the deepest darkest pits. The devil wants to tear you down and take away any hope you have in this world, but when we run to God He can carry us through. In episode two, we remember our loved ones that help build who we are and who created our warmest and happiest core memories. But, we do talk about childhood trauma that has taken place through the generations. We are blessed and thankful for this opportunity, our prayer is that we are able to reach and help others that feel like there is no hope. There is so much hope though and so much to look forward to. God has a plan for YOU. We hope this helps at least one person and pray that God uses us and sends us for His will.

Wonky Kids and Everything Episode 1: TRUly God's Plan

Our plan is not God's plan. God's is HIS for a reason. When we think the plan has switched, it really hasn't, God had it that way from the beginning. Eight years ago it may have seemed that our plan switched, but God already knew what was ahead. We just have to rely on Him and trust in what He has ahead. In this episode, we talk about how our somewhat "normal" life turned into a lot less "normal". We are beyond thankful for why it changed. Tune in to hear about how we added a new son and brother into our crazy but blessed life.
