The Gospel is the power of God for salvation to all who believe. Maybe you’ve asked the question, “How do we live out the Gospel to reach the world?” It can seem daunting to look out to a world in darkness and try to reach all who are lost, thank God that we are not alone in our journey; we have a family who are all a part of this commission. As believers, we should aim to live with a faith and longing to go, recognize the power for all who believe, and live unashamed of the Gospel. Join us in the first sermon of the series, Power of the Gospel, and walk in boldness as you proclaim the good news.

Visiting the Romans Road: How to Share the Gospel - Woodside Bible Church
As Christians, it is our responsibility to share the Gospel. God's word makes it abundantly clear that our mission is to spread the Gospel. For some, sharing the Gospel is simple, for others it is nerve-wracking. At Woodside, we believe in making disciples, by reaching the world and our local communities with the saving grace of Christ. People everywhere desperately need Jesus. Spreading the Gospel should not be difficult or anxiety-driven, but rather an authentic conversation on faith and the need for Jesus. The book of Romans points out our need for Christ, why it is essential to share the Gospel, and where our salvation comes from. We see four truths from various chapters in Romans on a basic framework for sharing the Gospel. We see that all have sinned, all deserve judgment, God offers us grace, and that salvation comes through faith. Join us in a one-off sermon, Visiting the Romans Road: How to Share the Gospel.

What God Says About Femininity - What God Says About Part 6 - Woodside Bible Church Algonac
This Mother's Day we recognize and celebrate the amazing women who have poured hours of time, energy, and love into each of our lives. It only seems fitting that as we close out our, What God Says About series we look at what God says about femininity. When Mother’s Day rolls around you may find yourself asking the question, “how should I honor the mothers in my life?” Further than that, maybe you’ve thought about how to honor the women in your life. God’s word is clear that it values women, and their role in the church, in families, and in the world. Proverbs 31 is one of the most highly quoted scriptures pointing to women's value and pricelessness. We see three important points from this chapter on how to honor the women in our lives. We should acknowledge her value, affirm her work, and applaud her character. Godly women are an essential part of the world, the church, and the home. Join us in the final sermon of the series, What God Says About Femininity.

What God Says About Sex - What God Says About: Part 5 - Woodside Bible Church Algonac
As Christians, we work to honor God in all aspects of our lives, through our work, our words, in our friendships, so in our sex lives it is important we look to honor Him in that. We have been journeying through our What God Says About series. This week we tackle a topic that is not often talked about in the church—sex. Scripture has much to say about it though, so it seems important we discuss what God has to say. God makes it abundantly clear that sex was created to be shared within the covenant of marriage, as two become one. The stain of sin in this world has sadly tainted the view of sex, painting it in a way that one should explore their sexuality, rather than saving it for the scaredness of marriage. The Bible makes it clear that sex is a good gift from God, to be shared only in marriage. As we aim to honor God in our sex lives we see three truths within scripture—to delight in your spouse, honor wise boundaries, and understand the danger of adultery. Know that God extends grace to those who turn from their sin and walk away from patterns of sin. He will heal and restore anything that has been broken. Tune in to the latest sermon of our series, What God Says About Sex.

What God Says About Work - What God Says About Part 4 - Woodside Bible Church - Algonac
As Christians, it is important to honor God in all aspects of our lives, so it only seems obvious that we should look to Him for what He says about our work. Jobs take up most of our lives, it’s where we spend most of our time. We are going through our series, What God Says About. This week we look at What God Says About Work. What we do matters to God. We are the representation of Christ, how we work reflects Him. Colossians 3:23 says we should “work heartily as for the Lord and not for men.” God commands us to work hard and to serve Him in all we do. In Proverbs, we find some examples of things that hinder us from fulfilling our call to work. There are three examples of obstacles we may face when it comes to work: laziness, distractedness, and selfishness. Proverbs 6 shows us that we have a calling to fulfill and that call is to work. We see in Genesis God giving Adam and Eve the call to tend to the garden and care for the animals. That was a privilege they held, given from God. Our tasks should be seen as an honor and our work as a privilege. Listen to the latest sermon of the series, What God Says About Work.

What God Says About Words - Woodside Bible Church Algonac
Our words hold a lot more power than we may realize. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” How we speak to others truly matters. We jumped into a new sermon series, What God Says About, applying God’s wisdom to everyday situations. In our everyday interactions with others, it can be easy to be flippant with our words—not realizing what we are truly saying until after we have said it. God is adamant on the fact that our words bring life and cause death. We should be mindful of how we speak to others, aiming to speak words of grace and encouragement; even speaking less and listening more. When we interact with our brothers and sisters in Christ, we should speak the truth and challenge one another. As we grow in Christ the Lord refines us, filtering out the destructive ways of the world and filling us with His wisdom. Join us in the next sermon of the series, What God Says About Words.

What God Says About Wisdom - Woodside Bible Church - Algonac
Have you ever wondered what God would have to say about certain topics? As we journey in our faith, questions arise, which may lead us to wonder what God would say. Our questions should prompt us to look to scripture. This Sunday we are diving into a new series, What God Says About, looking at the book of Proverbs to glean wisdom from about how to lean on God in the situations we face each day. To start off on a strong foundation, we will first look at what God has to say about wisdom. Why is wisdom so important, what does godly wisdom look like? Proverbs 3 tells us, the one who finds wisdom and understanding is blessed. Wisdom guides us in the decisions we make every day. As we seek Christ to be emulated in our lives, we should look to honor Him through our choices, who better to ask for wisdom from than Christ. For God’s wisdom is supremely precious. It is by wisdom that we live a good life, that God created the world, and that we are protected. Join us this Sunday in the first sermon of the series, What God says About Wisdom.

Belief that is Alive - Easter at Woodside - Woodside Bible Church - Algonac
How can we fully believe in God when we struggle with doubting Him? Or maybe you have been a skeptic, wondering why you should believe in God. This question sees more circulation around the Easter season, as the body of Christ celebrates the risen King. This Resurrection Sunday we are closing out our series, Believe, looking at the final week of Jesus’ life. The living King invites us to believe in Him, but it can be difficult when doubts flood our minds. Jesus invites us to vocalize our doubts and open up to Him. He isn’t shocked by our questions; He is patient and willing to guide us to seek the truth. Jesus knows our doubts, He answers our fears, and He blesses our faith. In scripture, we see Thomas, one of the disciples, doubted Jesus. Jesus answered His doubt with truth and cared for Him as He wrestled with the questions. Jesus is ready and waiting for us. He has risen from the grave. He is alive and our belief in Him is alive! Join us this Easter Sunday in the last sermon of the series, Belief that is alive! Belief that is Seen - Palm Sunday - Woodside Bible Church Algonac
How can others see Christ in you? A question, perhaps we all have asked at some point in our walks with Christ. We believe in Christ, but how do we extend that belief to others? This Holy season we are diving into a new series, Believe, taking a look at the final week of Jesus’ life. This Palm Sunday, we are beginning with true belief, and how that belief in Jesus shows in our lives. As we enter Holy Week, we begin with looking at Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where the crowds placed palm leaves down as Jesus entered. They celebrated Him, acknowledging that He was there, in the name of the Lord. The Messiah was here, the one who would save us, the deliverer of Israel. In the days to come, they did not yet know what would come. As their belief in the Savior was evident in their celebration, we see how our belief shows through our lives. When we honor Jesus as king, bear witness to Jesus’ work, and pursue Jesus’ presence others will see Christ in us. Join us this Easter season as we walk through a new series. Tune in to the first sermon of the series, Belief that is Seen.

It’s Not Just About Me - Confessions: Part 5 - Woodside Bible Church Algonac
In our walks of faith, our lives have a big influence on the communities we are immersed in. Whether we realize it or not, the choices we make and the things we do have an impact. As God created us as communal beings, therefore, the groups we are a part of will be affected by the choices we make. Our series, Confessions: Erasing Shame and Experiencing Renewal, is ending. We have been slowly walking through Psalm 51, learning what true confession and renewal looks like. As we wrap up our series this week, we will tackle the effect our sin and our confession of sin has on our communities. When one begins to experience transformational renewal, others will see and begin to desire that same revival in themselves. An individual's personal confession pleads for communal renewal. In turn, our communal renewal will enjoy God's delight. Join us as we wrap up our series walking though Psalm 51. We pray your heart has been filled by this series and you have acquired the tools to experience renewal for yourselves; and have been able to work through battles of sin in your life. May you be blessed by our final sermon from this series, It’s Not Just About Me.

It's On Me - Confessions: Part 3 - Woodside Bible Church
As we journey on in our series, Confessions: Erasing Shame and Experiencing Renewal, we will see that an essential part of confession is taking responsibility for our sin. In Romans, we see that Paul states, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” When we were born into this world, we entered into sin, our need for Jesus is very great. And the first step we take in the process of confession is realizing our sin and owning up to it. In confessing before God, it is important that we acknowledge that God is just, confess our fallen nature, and receive God's wisdom. What a gift, that we do not have to do it alone. We have the blood of Christ to cover our sins, He does not leave us alone, we need to take the initial step of recognizing and confessing. Join us in the latest sermon from the series, It’s On Me, and see the freedom in confession.

God's Immeasurable Mercy- Confessions: Part 2 - Woodside Bible Church Algonac
We are continuing in our new series, Confessions: Erasing Shame and Experiencing Renewal, this week we will be diving into Gods mercy and how He is faithful to show us mercy. When we appeal to the character of God and appeal to the cleansing power of God, we can experience His great mercy. Rather than carrying it on our own, the Lord is calling us to confess, surrender, release our grip on struggling to clean ourselves up. We can’t do it without Him. When we believe in Him and turn toward Him, confessing before Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to show us mercy. He can mend what we have broken, and He can heal our hearts from what we have let in. We do not have to suffer in silence, no matter how easy it may seem to suppress it and clean it up on our own. We need Him. Join us in listening to the latest message of the series, God’s Immeasurable Mercy, and release your grip on the sin you may be trying to cover.

When God Confronts Our Sin - Confessions: Part 1 - Woodside Bible Church Algonac
We are beginning a new series, Confessions: Erasing Shame and Experiencing Renewal, where we will look at 2 Samuel to better understand the role confession plays in our lives for us to find renewal. Today, we begin talking about this topic looking at David’s shortcomings when he gave into temptation and sinned against God. We see that the Lord confronts our sin so that we can experience renewal. To an extent, it’s as if we can have blinders on, where we can’t see the sin that tangles itself in our lives. On the other hand, we are aware of it and may turn our heads from seeing it. God lovingly confronts us with our sin because we are blind to it, at times we have despised the word of God, and the Lord is faithful to forgive our sin when we repent before Him. Tune in to our latest sermon on this vital topic, When God Confronts Our Sin, and allow your heart to be open to what the Lord may be confronting you with.
