Today, we’re learning some useful Japanese expressions for talking about when you don’t feel well.We’ll practice everyday expressions like:Kaze o hikimashita. — I caught a cold.Kaze-gimi desu. — I’m feeling a little under the weather.Atama ga itai desu. — I have a headache.Hanamizu ga demasu. — I have a runny nose.Nodo ga itai desu. — I have a sore throat.Netsu ga arimasu. — I have a fever.Seki ga demasu. — I have a cough.Onaka ga itai desu. — I have a stomachache.Hakike ga arimasu. — I feel nauseous.Hakimashita. — I vomited.We’ll also look at some medical words, such as zutsuu (headache) and fukutsuu (abdominal pain), and learn the difference between everyday Japanese and expressions you might hear at a hospital or see on medicine.If you’re traveling in Japan, these are especially useful expressions to know!And remember, don’t always translate Japanese word by word from English.
