Empaths vs Dark Empaths, Our Final Thoughts, See You Soon on YouTube at Chef Bry Comedy!
On this lighthearted final episode of Surviving Empathy Podcast, Rebecca and I first explore the difference between dark empaths and empaths, and all the ins and outs of that. Then, we'll get into the heart of what this show was always really all about, what we're trying to accomplish, and who we've been trying to help and why. We'll talk about what we learned about podcasting as a medium, and what we learned about the modern world today as empaths and older wiser people. We'll talk about our advice and takeaways on how to find and keep good mental health, robust living, and a happiness and joy in your life that endures for downhome people just like us. Just average every day regular people who aren't rich and who depend on a good economy and the word to function in order to make it. Finally, in my final spiel at the end, I will talk about what we want for YOU, what we hope for and expect for ourselves and the Chef Bry Comedy Brand, and what we truly want for our audience and the world! At the end of the day, this was a 2 year-long adventure, an experiment whereby energy is intention. We trusted in and relied on good vibes, goodness and kindness, and thoughtfulness and earnestness, but with a keen sense of humor to take us to so many good places. But it hasn't all been paved with gold! It's been a lot of good, a little bit bad, and some wholly unexpected kind people to support us and become our true real-life friends! Much of it exposed the dirty seedy underbelly of the world and people, and the real business of becoming a content creator, and we want to share our experience and advice with you! Thank you all so very much for your friendship, encouragement, and support over the years. It's been quite an experience to say the very least! But at the end of the day this isn't goodbye, so much as, we will see you later on the YouTube space! We might be done podcasting for now, but we've just begun when it comes to creating thoughtful, educational, and genuine, positive but real content. As always, we will continue to advocate for good regular down-to-earth folks, for good mental health outcomes and better living for all those regular people struggling out there, those empaths and sensitives, those misfits and introverts in these oftentimes unusual times plagued with hate and divisiveness, pitfalls, road blocks, and dead ends. But just as we like to say, where there's a will there's a way! With the right mindset, the right strategy, and the right approach and internal consistency, we can all get there and find the life we all so richly want, need, and deserve! A huge thanks to all of our friends, family, and supporters, we couldn't have believed in ourself and done it without you! Soon we'll be on YouTube, so instead of saying goodbye, let me just say thanks and we'll see you soon! With love and gratitude,Bry and RebeccaYouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@ChefBryComedyChef Bry Comedy - YouTubeBuy us a cup of coffee!https://cash.app/$ChefBryComedyPay $ChefBryComedy on Cash Apphttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/chefbrycomedyPayPal.Mehttps://account.venmo.com/chefbrycomedyVenmo | Chef Bry ComedyPodcast & music streaming sites, website, social media.https://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedyChef Bry Comedy | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook | Linktree Hosted on Acast. Alien Fever! UFO Whistleblower, Aliens in the Headlines, Beyond Skinwalker Ranch, Portals & the Paranormal
On this fun and mind-bending episode, we go down the rabbit hole and consider the existence of possible extra-terrestrials and UFOs, portals, and other possible paranormal phenomenon. There's a new rise in attention and popularity of this once fringe subject that is now gaining a lot of mainstream credibility and attention, causing somewhat of a paradigm shift in our cultural thinking about the subject, and an uproar of attention in our culture today. We want to try to understand what all this could mean for our culture and society today. New whistleblowers coming out, new government task forces being created, new advocacy and reporting agencies for pilots and witnesses over the ever-increasing sightings of possible exotic crafts, and dare I say, the possible existence of aliens and the possible human/alien encounters and relations! There seems to be a real newfound surge in mainstream interest in UAP/UFO phenomenon and possible exotic foreign craft and creature sightings! So, we want to get to the heart of the matter, to try to understand what all the implications could mean, as we consider the possibility of what's really going on here?! The implications for our planet, of our culture and society, of our economy and culture, and the scientific and spiritual ramifications as well! At the end of the day, it's a good time to be a believer, and we want to get down to the absolute truth! It's a phenomenon that used to be panned as fringe nonsense and sci-fi fantasy, but there's a lot of very credible evidence and witnesses on this phenomenon now from very credible sources that gives this phenomenon newfound traction and credibility that's fascinating at best, and terrifying at worst! Let's go down the rabbit hole together, and learn all that can be derived from this alien fever going on in the media today! We'll be on YouTube once this podcast season is finished! Feeling Over it, when a Bad Attitude Takes Over, Life Paralysis & Impatience, Giving in to Our Inner Quitter
On this episode Rebecca and I ask the question, where do we go when we've hit a dead end, when we've hit the end of our rope, when we just can't take it anymore, waiting for life to change, get better, and we grow inpatient for the world to get right, and for our ship to come in?! How might we reset and find the patience, wisdom, and a lifeline to not only endure, but continue pushing towards our goals and toward success and validation when the world just doesn't seem functional, sane, or fair?! At the end of the day, the world is getting dysfunctional, strange, abnormal, and just plain hard! So how might we find the gas to keep going when we're tired of setbacks, delays, and shitty people and attitudes clouding our vision and getting in the way of our goals and dreams?! How might we traverse this dystopic and mean-spirited society with our own sense of goodness and kindness? Please give us a cup of coffee! Empath Talk, Mental Health Check Up, Don't Worry be Happy
On this light and breezy episode Rebecca and I talk about being empaths, what that entails, and how we as highly sensitive people must detach ourselves from the world out there as social animals enough to lower our stress levels and to find our sense of humanity, sense of humor, and a joy that endures, despite life always coming at us! To find our inner silly heart, and to let go of all those expectations, all the hurt, and all that hate out there in the world. Then, we will talk a little bit about how we as highly sensitive people must continually filter, block, and sort through this life for better mental and spiritual health, and process it in a way that's healthy, that allows us to find cathartic release and a sense of identity and wisdom in the daily struggle of living. At the end of the day, we can become so disconnected to our own joys and heart where we stray from who we really are, or we can lean into our goodness, kindness, and humor within, and find a wisdom and power in ourselves, an attitude and spark that hopefully will infect the world with our joy, our positivity, and our hope, and to grow into our wisdom and heart of who we really are, not out of who we were always meant to be. At the end of the day, we can either grow from this experience called life or we can let it take from us forever, the choice is ours! Please support the show! Please subscribe to Chef Bry Comedy! Mind, Body, & Soul-Building! Building the Life You Want, Reconciling the Life You Have, Getting Gripes Off Your Chest First
On this very personal and real but super light episode, Rebecca and I get down and dirty about our less than perfect life and mental health, and some of the gripes and frustrations we have with the world in its current state, and our current circumstances these days. Sometimes life can feel so good and pleasant, or terrible and dysfunctional depending on our current perspective and state of mind. This episode explores some of the ways in which we allow ourselves to become untethered and lose our priorities that steal our joy away, or otherwise preoccupy our time when we know we shouldn't let it! Then, we'll talk about some of the noise and nonsense out there that can contribute to poor mental health outcomes and a cascade of failures that makes us shut down or stop trying. Then lastly, some of the ways we can reset our priorities to get our mind and body right to really allow our souls to soar unincumbered by the state of the world out there or our personal problems always getting in the way of our progress and joy. To find the lightness and fun in the world and in ourself, to be less down in it and more above it all. We'll talk about the world today, and real-world ways in which we can retool, reset, and get our lives and priorities back into a good functional working order, to maximize growth and progress, and keep our happiness, strength, and growth at the forefront of our lives!I need you guys to help us in a couple of small ways!First, please go over to our new YouTube channel and subscribe, and please standby for our cool fun thoughtful videos coming soon!https://www.youtube.com/@ChefBryComedyChef Bry Comedy! - YouTubeNow, I just need you to please support the podcast and YouTube channel by becoming a patron at Patreon athttps://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedySurviving Empathy Podcast/Chef Bry Comedy | creating podcast episodes, YouTube/IG videos, comedy, & writing | PatreonORgive us a tip, once or monthly at our various tip jars. What's good, bad, and ugly with modern religion, and what's going on with belief and faith in these modern times? Then we'll talk about the difference between being religious and being spiritual and what exactly is the difference between religion and spirituality, and how can we maintain a sense of goodness and spiritual comfort and identity in modern times, where things have become so hateful and chaotic? The Lessons in Star Trek, the Actual Progressive Agenda, Futurism Done Right
On this super fun and futuristic episode, Rebecca and I talk about Star Trek and what is it trying to teach us about life, society, and about futurism? Also, what are some of the similarities between the Star Trek agenda and the Progressive agenda, if any, and how can we break the chains of hatred, regressiveness, oppression, and exclusionism in our culture and society today to arrive at a place of best practices, and building a world that is safe, prosperous, and free, where individualism is celebrated and not chastised, and where every walk of life no matter where you come from can make the best life possible just like anybody else? We want to talk about the inherent dangers in our culture and sociopolitical landscape today, and how to fight for and find a life balance and a longevity in being your truest self that endures, and how might we see and prepare for the inherent intolerances and hate in our culture today? Then lastly, we'll talk about what Star Trek means to us, and how it's helped shape us as people. This is a fun one you guys, so strap in, and let's make it so! Engage!Support us! Come say hi! Living in a Modern Society, Understanding Agendas, Finding the Right Fit in Ambiguous Times (Don't be a Sucker!)
On this fun, thoughtful episode, our hearts are forever lingering on the constant craziness and weirdness of this world. And so, we want to know how to find comfort and a good fit in a world full of agendas that's actually right for YOU! At the end of the day this life can be insurmountably complicated, so much so that people often lose focus and their priorities, they lose sight of how to see the agendas and attitudes out there, to the point where we don't always know where to look, and how to traverse this life in order to find joy, success, and to avoid bad people and bad choices. To be able to look inward and derive real meaning and soul comfort and confidence when it comes to sorting life and finding happiness in an oftentimes tragic and chaotic world. The Art of Chill, The Big Lebowski, Happiness & Hope Despite No Instant Results
On this episode Rebecca and I talk about the necessity of balancing exertion and recuperation, and how we could all gain wisdom, perspective, and happiness from simply mastering the art of chilling out and going with the flow more often. We'll talk about the 1997 cult hit The Big Lebowski and some of our favorite things about it, and the philosophy behind "Dudeism" that sprang from it. Is there something that can be learned from this absurdist movie and its teachings? Is it a sustainable life philosophy this day and age, living in highly demanding, divisive, and modern times?! At the end of the day, sometimes we have to search to find perspective, wisdom, humor, and having the patience and tenacity to endure when the world is taking and rarely ever giving. Life success is possible, and we feel that sometimes "less is more" when you're trying to achieve in this life. That there's a grace to life success, health, fitness, mental health and robust living. Let's talk about it! Enjoy the show!https://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedyChef Bry Comedy | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook | Linktree Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Necessity for Humor for Good Mental Health, Fighting for What's Right, UFOs UAPs Right Now in 2023
On this fun and irreverent episode, Rebecca and I first catch you up on our lives as of late, as we help my mom beat her cancer diagnosis. Then, we will talk about the Tennessee 3 and the little fires of authoritarian quasi-fascism cropping up around the USA, and what to do about it. Then, we'll share with you our imperfect lives with imperfect mental health, but at the heart of our happiness and balance lies one key ingredient; a wicked sense of humor! How we keep joy and humor front and center in a mad mad world. Lastly, we will catch you up on everything you ought to know about the modern UFO/UAP phenomenon around the globe in the year 2023, and more specifically, how the US government has changed its tune when it comes to the reporting of the phenomenon, and how we might finally get some transparency and functionality from a government that used to deny it at every cost to finally being a part of the solution. If you like us, like what we're all about, or care about the mission and brand, you can help us by pitching in $1 or $2 toward the cause in our various tip jars on Link Tree or by becoming a patron on Patreon, or at minimal, simply by subscribing to Chef Bry Comedy! on our YouTube channel, as we finish up this last season of the podcast, then move to our new visual platform on YouTube! To know where the line of decency ought to be, to fight against systemic regressiveness, robust mental health for regular working folks, and to fight for best practices, functionality, and happiness in the modern world today for all people. But especially those who have always been a good person and got hardly anywhere for it.https://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedyChef Bry Comedy | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook | Linktree Hosted on Acast. Healing Your Wounded Soul, Finding Catharsis, Staying YOU in a Me Me Me Society Part II
PART 2 of 2...On this peppy spitfire episode, on a day when Rebeca was in a particularly rare "on fire" kind of mood, so I try to utilize her angst and life fatigue to tackle the important subject of, how can we heal our wounded soul after we've had just about enough bullshit and soul letdown after feeling overwhelmed by the totality of dumb, immature, dysfunctional, or hateful bullshit in the world today?! More specifically, when the accumulation of bad people and immature and awful nonsense in the world does a real number to our heart and soul, how can we put the pieces back together and feel good and empowered again after a string of emotional letdowns or one big letdown that appears to not want to go away?! What can we do to find catharsis, peace, and center again after an episode of emotional grief and heartache on a deeply emotional and spiritual level!? First, we will start with an article about what the function of emotions are in order to gain insight into what emotions are for and what they're all about. Then, we'll go down our BIG LIST of things that both HURT and HEAL our soul, after an emotional upset by something external. Then lastly, Rebecca with talk about an article about how to find real catharsis in life.At the end of the day, what we are all trying to accomplish in this life is to find meaning, value, validation, and opportunity in life, to simply make the best of our circumstances and get ahead in this weird wild world. But there' so much BS nowadays that we often have to fight fight fight against the onslaught of so much nonsense, to get to where we need to be physically, mentally, and emotionally. This is a good fun irreverent episode you guys, especially if you enjoy it when we're a little bit fired up! For those who know us, I think you're going to get a kick out of this one, especially if you tend to agree with us! It's never about anger, hate, or hurting anyone! No, it's all about finding catharsis and the strength to fight fire with fire in a sometimes insane and backwards regressive social construct! We should always be fighting back, to be a little bit of a rebel, a renegade, but not to be a radical or extremist, oh no! But to fight for what's right and good in this world in a balanced and thoughtful way. Life is short, and we must find the strength and tenacity to defend ourselves and our happiness in a world that has no compunction with ruining your mental health or financial and emotional wellbeing. So, we fight back in a way that's positive, honest, and meaningful. Please support us and support the cause! Turn Your Sensitivity into a Superpower Instead of a Weakness
On this fun episode Rebecca and I talk about "toughness" and strength in our culture, and the onslaught of uptight and insensitive attitudes in our culture and times, claiming to be oh so tough, when really, it's just perpetuating more problems and hateful attitudes, and how we can turn our inner-sensitivity into a superpower of strength, tenacity, wisdom, courage, and thoughtfulness that endures. We'll tackle liberalism vs conservatism, the culture of tough vs sensitive, and toughness for real vs fake toughness just to score brownie points, that's doing a whole lot of nothing in moving the needle forward for real regular folks in the world today. This is our final season of Surviving Empathy Podcast. Life is Short, Enjoy it! Your Inner Silly Heart vs Inner Disciplinarian, & Why We Love Weird Stuff Like Ghosts, Cryptids, & UFOs!
On this very fun and enlightening episode, first Rebecca and I have some big news to share with you about the show, our future, and some serious medical news. Then Rebecca and I talk about how you can find balance between all of life's demands, from fitness and career, to activism and civic participation, to leisure and getting ahead in a way that's still fun and enjoyable that doesn't deteriorate your mind, body, and soul. We then talk about work vs play balance, the "pleasure principle" vs our "civic responsibility," and a balance between being happy and that need to always be right. Then lastly, we end on, why do people dabble in the playful weird world of aliens and UFOs, ghosts and ghoulies, bigfoot and cyprids, and all things "out there," bizarre, unexplained, and macabre? It's all about finding cosmic perspective, spiritual groundedness and emotional comfort. To find balance, control, and meaning amongst the chaos. To explore and seek answers to that which defies easy explanation or understanding, and to satisfy our understanding of our place in the universe. At the end of the day, human beings have inquisitive hearts, restless spirits, and very real emotional and personal needs. A desire to find answers to both our innermost mortal queries and life's biggest questions in the cosmos. To somehow find happiness and balance between real world problems and our innermost spiritual and emotional needs.Support the show! Become a Patron on Patreon! Share with family and friends! Paranormal Spirituality, Energy & Intention, Accepting our Differences Part II
On this very fun and enlightening 2-part episode Rebecca and I talk about our love and fascination for the paranormal, and how it's become our spirituality of sorts, in the sense that it appeals to our sense of curiosity and fascination with our place in the cosmos, the relationship of the physical and the metaphysical, our overall understanding of life and death, energy and matter, as well as satisfying that morbid curiosity we all crave in life, trying to get to the heart of what we really are as beings! Getting down to perhaps what this thing called life really is. Then, we shift the conversation towards our spiritual differences, society and different peoples and cultures, then tackle the tribalistic divisiveness in our culture we find ourselves in, that can't seem to accept our inherent differences. We want to arrive at a better place of emotional and spiritual satisfaction, gratitude, and inclusiveness, to maximize this life, and to appreciate the variety and the fascination that is living on this blue marble we call Earth. Please get on board the conversation and our mission to make this world feel a little bit better and whole! Getting Older, Jealousy & Regrets, Never Letting Your Age or Circumstances Define What You Want Out of Life
On this super fun and thoughtful episode Rebecca and I talk about getting older, and how age has this tendency to kill our motivation and productivity. We'll talk about jealousy and regret, and how when that festers it turns into poor mental health if not handled properly. We'll talk about our own aspirations and dashed dreams, and how to serve your own life and productivity, and how we might stay properly motivated despite setbacks, getting older, or facing defeats or failures. Toxic People, Toxic Masculinity, The Alpha Male Myth, & Being Yourself vs Being Just the Worst
On this exciting and fun episode, Rebecca and I try to tackle the alpha male phenomenon, as well as talk about toxic people, how to identify it, and what to do about it. Then lastly, we'll try to figure out how we might be able to allow a little bit of wiggle room for struggle and imperfection when people aren't ok, with so many people now going through something. As well as how we might improve our culture to be a little less reckless and harsh with one another, since most people deal with so much. To become more kind, more fun loving, more humorous and a little less critical and harsh towards one another as we fight for our right to exist, and fight for a better, more equal and fair society. Please support the mission and show!https://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedyChef Bry Comedy | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook | Linktree Hosted on Acast. Chef Bry Comedy & Mental Health Update, Balancing Kindness & Self-Preservation, Accepting People at Their Core
On this different kind of episode, I speak from the heart about my own personal mental health and feelings lately, as well as some show news and updates. Then, I try to explain some things about ourselves, our mission and intentions, and to clear the air about my irreverent and jokey attitude at times. To hopefully get some newer listeners to the show to understand the reason behind that. At the end of the day if we are going to improve and grow, we must let people be themselves and express themselves in their own unique way, because all people need to be allowed to be their truest self in order to find happiness, balance, and catharsis. We must embrace each other and our differences, treat one another as we want to be treated, appreciate our differences, and try not to hold one another to perfect standards, but allow folks off the hook. To be forgiving and helpful towards each other, especially when someone is hurting or in crisis. To truly be there for each other, be kind, and be forgiving, especially when we're not doing so well. People need help, and we must unite to make this world feel like a better kinder place. Sure, I get a little irreverent or silly from time to time, but the point isn't about being cruel, the point is that we have to balance toughness and kindness in a challenging and scathing world. To be both tough and kind, to let the right ones in, and to discard that which doesn't serve our wellness or betterment. In this world, it's better to kill with kindness than hurt with judgment and harshness. Please support the show and mission!https://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedyChef Bry Comedy | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook | Linktree Hosted on Acast. Andor Review, The Point of Star Wars, & Elevating Your Sense of Justice in an Unjust World
On this fun socially minded episode we review the new hit show Star Wars: Andor, as well as talk about the causation of the war between the Empire and the rebels, and how we might view it and relate it to the real world in the here and now, and how we might learn to fight for a better fairer world without losing grips on our happiness and balance. We as a culture today should always try to elevate our understanding of social justice and fighting for systemic change and betterment, while fighting against the status quo of corporate and political corruption or upheaval, and maximizing our understanding of our rights and right to exist. To fight the good fight for humanitarian and ethical pursuits for us regular average folks, but doing so in a way that takes care of our mental health and does not fill our life up with anger, hate, or frustration. But rather, learning to fight the good fight and maximizing life, robust health, and a positive and strong mentality that endures in a world that's not always so fair or on the up and up.Please support the show!https://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedyChef Bry Comedy | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook | Linktree Hosted on Acast. Relationships, Arguments & Conflict Resolution, Finding a Baseline of Security & Happiness that Endures
On this fun and thoughtful episode Rebecca and I dive into relationships, arguing, and how to not only recover from that in the relationship, but also, how to get better at not hurting one another, as well as, finding ways to not let life's inherent hardships and awfulness continually make us feel weakened to the point of blow up or blow out. We also talk about Rebecca's landmark 50th birthday, which is hard to believe because we're so young at heart! Also, our Portland trip. Then, how to allow ourselves to pick up the pieces to arrive at a place of kindness, temperament, and comfort, happiness, and security that can endure in the long term. It's fun to be back! BONUS! Chef Bry's Food for Thought!, Wednesday Review, Scammers & Scam Baiting, Living Boldy & Kindly in these Times Part 2
On this thoughtful episode, Rebecca and I announce the new podcast & YouTube show Bry's Food for Thought! Then we go into the post-holiday blues, and how do we get the year off on the right foot, despite feeling sort of uggo about winter and post-holiday letdown., Then we'll talk all about my newest TV viewing addiction, scammers and scam baiting, a phenomenon where scammers, mostly from countries like India try to scam old people, the vulnerable, and those technologically disinclined folks out of thousands of dollars, if not their entire life savings! We'll discuss the details of the scams, those who are most vulnerable, and the counter-initiative by YouTubers who take on these scammers, called scam baiting, where they essentially collect evidence, annoy, and try to discourage and levy information to discourage and get law enforcement to shut these scammers down. But because of lax laws, bribes and payoffs, and India's inherent corruption, sometimes they aren't always caught or disincentivized as they should, but they simply relocate and start up again. We'll break down these scammer's methods, as well as how Youtubers, scam baiters, and regular people can fight back and empower themselves to not get duped, as well as finding ways to not generalize about Indian people just because of a handful of bad eggs doing bad things. We'll also talk about how much fun it is to watch, but just how serious and dangerous this type of thing is!Then in part 2 we'll pick up the conversation about regressive systems and fighting to move society forward. We'll also talk about some very encouraging new scientific research about how we might one day soon be able to hack our brains through science, to discover the root causal link between depression and a lacking in motivation and ambition, to find a way to hack our brains to not lose ambition during depressive episodes. Then, our Wednesday review of the hit Netflix show based on The Addams Family, and the positive message it sends about being yourself and letting people be different, and to embrace your innner-wierdo in essence! Lastly, we'll wrap things up by talking about how to live in an often exploitative, sometimes unkind and unfriendly society, and how we might keep our productivity, positivity, joy, and kindness at the forefront of your lives despite the inherent mediocrities and perils of the modern living in the "modern" world. Fun Changes Coming to the Show, If You Aren't Growin' You're Slowin', Staying Positive & Motivated as Regular People
On this very honest, vulnerable, and revealing but empowering episode, I speak about the epiphany I had about this podcast and brand, and some of the changes I need to make to change and adapt to the times and realities. I talk about what changes will tentatively take place, how and why it will change, how it will change and improve, how it will stay the same, and why sometimes we get so very real, honest, and vulnerable with you. It's not to bombard you or anyone with negativity, or to turn anyone off, but to simply get real with our audience, to contemplate on our lives and the times, and to make the necessary changes and growth when and where we can. To turn all that negative stuff into a life learning lesson, a tool for positive change and better outcomes, once we've contemplated on the problem. Rebecca and I are so very grateful for our lives, our audience, our friends and family, but in these times, but there's always a feeling of insecurity and harshness that most regular people are feeling today, that often gets in the way of knowing what to do, how to do it, or how to see it right or feel compete and whole in these unrelenting times; a culture seemingly skewed toward wealthy elitist influencers, and usually not for average folks trying to make their best life out of a gruelingly real situation, poor mental health outcomes, or just a lacking of choice, clarity, or resources to better themselves.Support the show! https://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedySurviving Empathy Podcast | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook | Linktree Hosted on Acast. Mental Health Check In 4.0, Current Events & Waiting for the World to Get Right
On this very fun and light Friday vibes episode, Rebecca and I check in on our mental health, then talk about the last episode and why I was feeling the way I was feeling, and what I meant by it all. We discuss billionaires and billionaire culture, "wealth crazy," and billionaire impunity, and the implications of it on our culture and society. We'll even talk about the new Metallica single that dropped recently, their new album coming out next year, and celebrity culture and celebrity hate, and living in times where we must adapt to the nature of the world today. Then, we discuss how we must learn how to be in order to get through hard times, cold winters, and people's lunacy out there anymore. It all sounds bleak, but I assure you, this is a pleasant an optimistic episode all about how we must learn to live now in the world we're living in today, in order to preserve our happiness, positivity, hope, and optimism, as the world out there and winter tries to kill us all! lol! Finding a Lifeline When You're at the End of Your Rope, Having a Bigger Bolder Vision for Yourself, Creating a Culture that Helps Each Other Again, My Life Malnutrition
On this deep and emotionally insightful episode, I speak about some of the things that are getting to me these days, living in an indifferent capitalist hellscape, and what I go through to try to succeed, in what seems to be, a life that never relents, where I can break free and soar to my best and brightest future that we all rightfully deserve. I speak about what I go through emotionally as a podcaster and experienced tech savvy and agreeable person trying to live in this economy, as I try to live a bolder and more robust life, trying to live up to the greatest sense of self potential. I share my views on how we might find a greater sense of community and better outcomes when we do certain things a certain way, embodying the correct mindset, and how our society could be better if only we all worked together as a unit. As corny as it sounds, there's a way to better this world, but unless we stop tuning out, we may not get there. But I believe in regular people. I believe in the greatness of humanity, and I believe we are going to get there when we come correct and fight. That, when given the means, good regular people always rise to the challenge of their best, if only granted the opportunity. How to Know Whether You're Really an Empath or Not, Empath Vulnerable Narcissism, Making Life Work for Your Sensitive Heart
On this monologue episode, I talk about how to figure out if you're an empath or not, but more than that, if you are an empath, how to bring about the best in your hypersensitivity and the best out in yourself so that you achieve and live the kind of life you want and deserve! I've got a few articles to guide me through, from empath talk, to maximizing an empath's natural emotional intelligence, to finding the bold determination to get up and over what holds us back to achieve a life of adventure, fun, and satisfaction. Please enjoy! If you can please help us, I'd so appreciate it. Sorry to be a broken record here, but we need help until we're sponsored. In the meantime, I make virtually nothing, and we want to believe that our audience, friends, and empath tribe cares enough to help us out a little until this ascends to the next level of awesomeness! Hey we're back! On this fun as heck but mind-bending episode, we ask the question, will we end up more like Mad Max, a postapocalyptic nightmare, fighting over fuel and resources, or more like Star Trek or The Orville, where we merge science and tech to ascend to the next level of humanity? Secondly, we'll talk about ideology as a whole, then peer into our ideological differences now, including an assessment on what happened during the midterms. Then we'll peer into our natural inclinations and differences to find out where our species will most like go into the vast future based on the past and present today? It's all in hopes to teach the importance of accepting ideological and personal differences and inclusion so that our differences aren't our stumbling block, but an asset and a rite of passage into a better and more diverse society in the future. We'll even go into an article that takes a very logical view into what humans may be like ten thousand years from now. Do Ghosts Exist?! We Think So, Here's Why!
On this fun and inquisitive episode Rebecca and I tackle the age-old question, is the paranormal a real thing and do ghosts exist?! We've done our research on the subject throughout our lifetime, as well as found some articles on the subject, and we have come to the conclusion that there actually might be something there beyond nothing. Meaning, after all other possibilities have been exhausted, there still exists evidence of something that defies rational explanation. A lot of times people mock us or think we're weird when we refer to ourselves as empaths, but all that means really is that we pick up on energy, emotions, intentions, and sometimes entities (whether living or dead!), and there's nothing inherently weird about that! In fact, I suspect most people pick up on little things like that! Have you ever thought someone was standing behind you despite not hearing or seeing anyone? You turn around to see and sure enough you sensed someone's presence! Well, if you have ever done that, you may just be an empath! As realized empaths, we have always been a little bit different, and sometimes we have been judged and ridiculed for admitting such things. But there's nothing weird or pseudoscience about it. All it means is that we've come to the realization of our own personal sensory sensitivity, that we sense energy and vibes, and now practice mastering it in order to harness our knowledge and sensitivity toward the betterment of ourselves and others for the best outcomes. On this episode we talk about being empaths, as well as whether or not the paranormal is real or is it overblown nonsense or somewhere in between? Please come on over to our social media found down below in our links and tell us about your own empathic sensitivities, or your experiences stories about the paranormal! If you like the work we're doing and the mission we are on to bettering mental health for regular people, and creating a better and kinder world, please share this podcast, consider being a patron on Patreon, or pitch in to our tip jars on my Link Tree so that we can grow, get sponsors, and get awesome enough to succeed at the thing we love, which is helping people and creating more joyful outcomes in our society! Protecting Your Empathic Heart from TMI Out There
On this very personal and in-depth monologue, I talk about the prevailing things most people are dealing with today. From social media hysteria to intrusive attitudes and behaviors to divisive politics, it's no wonder we become desensitized to the destructive influences in our culture today and start to tune out. Here I speak very candidly about how to tune in just enough, to learn how to tune out of that which doesn't serve your good mental health, and how to keep balance in your media and social media consumption, as well as how to "gut check" yourself to make sure you are keeping your personal priorities intact. I speak about celebrity and influencer culture, and how to learn to be above the influence when it comes to extremist attitudes and the greater social media frenzy. I speak to my empaths, depressives, introverts, and just plain old regular good people, who are simply looking to find balance in the never-ending lunacy that is living as a human being in the modern world. To find clarity in the insanity that is the modern world, and why Rebecca and I don't waver in our activism and standing up for what's right and good in this world. Sure, we want to remain objective and neutral as much as we can, but sometime neutrality is akin to not doing anything at all, so we must decide what side to take when the choice isn't always so clear. Empaths v The World, Self-Assessment & Reflection, & Keeping Your Humor & Heart First
On this episode I woke up feeling grateful for a great many things. Despite all my problems, despite all the world's wrongs and ills, despite hardly anyone helping me or anything going my way, sometimes you just wake up with an attitude of gratitude for no reason at all. Just the fact that you're still alive, healthy, and free is enough to be grateful because you know you're still healthy and free enough enjoy this life and to continue searching for what matters most to you. At the end of the day what separates lifelong joyful people and lifelong instigators, haters, and miserable people comes down to one thing; thinking the right thoughts and having the right attitude. On this long rambling but fun and inspirational episode, I talk about the handful of life advice that works for me in keeping life happy, empowered, functional, and free. Empaths and sensitives especially have had to learn how to get along in a world that doesn't relent to accommodate their nuanced sensibilities. Instead, we as sensitives must learn how to fit into the real world, to identify dark triad people from light triad people, and to find the inner-strength and toughness to not only make our mark in this life, but to find a sense of calm, love, and joy that endures. This episode explores all of the elements that helped me figure out who I am, what I am doing, what life is, and to find the confidence and joy to keep on going despite disappointment, depression, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts trying to get in the way. This episode is about identifying what life is, what people are, letting the right ones in, setting boundaries, and closing the door to bad/immature/the wrong people and things when you're ready to finally expand your life and take life to the next level.Linkshttps://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedySurviving Empathy Podcast | Twitter, Instagram, YouTube | Linktree Hosted on Acast. Hellraiser 2022 Review, The Munsters 2022 Review, and FINALLY Our Thoughts on Get Out 2017
On this light and fun episode Rebecca and I review the movies Hellraiser 2022 on Hulu, Rob Zombie's The Munsters 2022 on Netflix, and the smash hit Get Out from 2017 which we finally watched! We talk about what Hellraiser lore, and what the lore symbolizes and is all about. Then, what Rob Zombie got right and horribly wrong in his love letter movie to the Munsters TV show, and then finally, the social commentary of what Get Out is trying to say about us a culture. Have a great weekend you guys!Links:https://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedySurviving Empathy Podcast | Twitter, Instagram, YouTube | Linktree Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Pros & Cons of Being a Social Animal, Friendships & that World Out There, & Finding Your Identity & Worth in the Power Struggle that is Life
On this insightful and in-depth episode, we try to learn more about ourselves as a species as social animals. The pros & cons of being a social creature as these complex beings in these complex times, which certainly has its set of good and bad aspects to it. From our interpersonal relationships to how we are treated in the world out there, this episode is all about finding your clarity and worth in that unbeknownst-to-us power struggle that is life and finding redemption in fighting for our worth. To finding ways of gut checking ourselves in order to finding the right people, jobs, and situations that are good for us, while limiting the unnecessary hardships, drama, and undue competition and chaos in our modern word today. We'll talk about class systems, social norms, and people who may not have our best interests, and how we often succumb to being outclassed, outsmarted, and overruled by various people and systems, and how we might identify and fightback that aggression in a world that may not be actually trying to destroy us, but it certainly often feels like it sometimes!Links:https://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedySurviving Empathy Podcast | Twitter, Instagram, YouTube | Linktree Hosted on Acast. Politics, Cultural Differences, Bridging the Ideological Divide, & the Problem with our Political Landscape
On this difficult episode Rebecca and I try to tackle politics in the fairest and most honest way that we can. Of course, it's impossible this day and age to be completely neutral when you have your own set of experiences and preferences. We wanted to talk about what's going on out there and how we can find the truth in a sociopolitical culture where it's hard to know what's really going on, and how one might find clarity, balance, and hope when there's so much ugliness in our political landscape. By the end, we wanted to leave you with what we think people can do to be politically energized without it killing your mental health or friendships with those who are politically different from you. Seeking Something Spiritual & Meaningful Amongst a Culture that Appears to Have Lost its Guiding Principles
On this episode I slow things down and talk by myself about the spiritual malaise and life boredom I've been feeling, and then I talk about popular religion and certain philosophies that can lay the groundwork for our emotional & spiritual beliefs, and whether or not they help or hinder our overall growth and progress? Then, I speak about various ways in which I have found some comfort, clarity, calm, and joy in a world that's often too unfair to be fruitful, but much too beautiful and unique to take for granted. At the end of the day, we do what we must to endure the rigors of this life, but we must seek out and find ways to see the world and our place in it before we can attain any level of peace and quality in this life. Cobra Kai & Life & Mental Health Lessons Learned from the Show Part 1
On this super fun and insightful 2 part episode Rebecca and I talk about the various life and mental health lessons that can be learned from the Netflix hit series Cobra Kai, as you know, it is a continuation of the 80's hit trilogy The Karate Kid franchise. We talk all about the show, the characters, and the things that stand out to us as fans of the show in terms of good true-to-life lessons we can apply to our own life in finding happiness, peace, balance, and clarity living in torrential busy times. On episode 1 we go mostly into the lessons that can be learned, and on episode 2 we go into all of the characters, their traits, and their overarching storyline, and the mental health and life lessons each character had to, or needs to, grow as a person. Thank you so much for being good to us, it's very much appreciated, and we will always keep our audience and fans number one as a priority and number one in our hearts! Relationships, Single Life, a State of Love & Trust, & Waiting for Somebody when you Have a Dyslexic Heart
Upon watching the hit romcom Singles from 1992, Rebecca and I took a journey down memory lane, not only reminiscing about the birth of grunge music and the emo times of the early 90's, but also the craziness that is single life! We got to thinking about what it must be like today to be single, dating, and trying to find love and companionship in the modern world?! It's not impossible, but it takes a few things, and we'll go into it. Rebecca and I sincerely try to put on a good, fun, and helpful show that's both entertaining and enlightening. We're very caring people who just sorta want to be big brother and sister to younger folks struggling out there. Whether it be looking for love, looking for opportunities, or just looking for a clue on how to navigate this life and world today in the modern era. At the end of the day, we have to find the right mindset to find peace and happiness in life. Please think of Rebecca and I as your guide, your friend, and your big brother and sister of sorts! We're always caring, we're always kind, and we're always trying to find best practices in everything we do and everything we are. But at the end of the day, we're only human and we too make mistakes and need guidance sometimes. But we try to live and learn in real-time and to be as honest and forthcoming with our audience as much as humanly possible. To give you food for thought in a way that's informative, informal, and fun. We're your big brother and siter, and we're here to help! We really are trying to make the world feel like a kinder, friendlier, and less punitive place. That's what it's all about! Stop the Drama Now! Dealing with Toxic People, Drama, Gaslighting, & the Unfortunate Side Effects when Friendships Break Down, Moving Onward & Upward from Negativity Part II
On this episode Rebecca and I continue our conversation about drama and toxic people and situations, and then through research we lay the groundwork on how we might be able to find strength, our inner core and sense of self and our center, and to empower ourselves during a moment of depression, spiritual or emotional malaise, or when someone unexpectedly targets you or places all their hate upon you unfairly, and how to find strength and empowerment to move on, and how to cut ties with those toxic people and things without it hardening your heart too much. At the end of the day, we all accumulate people who aren't so good for us, and when they turn on us, it can initially place you in a moment of shock and disbelief! Then we must learn to breathe, relax, and assess the situation logically, to find the best way to handle the situation and ourselves, to move on, and find comfort and clarity, despite the meanness and rudeness of the world, especially when we're already trying to get over a bunch of things. Paranormal, cyprids, and empath episodes coming soon! Thanks for sticking by us in our time of need! We love you! If you want to help, please share the episodes with your likeminded friends, or pitch in to our tip jar if you can! We are growing, it is happening, and its fun and surreal! Stop the Drama Now! Dealing with Toxic People, Drama, Gaslighting, & the Unfortunate Side Effects when Friendships Break Down, Moving Onward & Upward from Negativity Part I
On this 2-part episode, Rebecca and I catch you up on our summer vacation, then break into a story of something unfortunate that happened to us when we got back, and how we felt in the moment, how we were able to process our feelings and get through it, when fair-weather friends turn on you without provocation. We'll talk all about how, in these times, we must find a strong sense of self and hang on to the kind of good people we want to be, and to hang on to our sense of goodness and kindness despite running into negativity coming into our lives. At some point everyone will have to deal someday with someone turning on you, and it can really hurt and be frustrating, and it can really make you start to question your own sanity and reality, making you feel shocked over the way some people can be out there. We'll talk about the way society and people out there can be nowadays, and how to have an inner strength and sense of self that can endure the rigors of a world filling up with craziness and negativity, despite trying to be a good person. Then in part 2 we'll go into some of the research we found about how to find comfort, clarity, and purpose when life starts to feel dull and mundane, and all the people and problems out there start to make you feel over all the games in life and the drama of people all over again. Welcome back ladies and gentlemen! It's so very good to be back! We had a wonderful vacation, but we started to miss you guys and miss doing the show! BONUS! Prey Movie Review, Addressing Woke/Cancel Culture, Finding Peace, Comfort, & Control in the Whirlwind That is Life
On this fun and light episode Rebecca and I offer our movie review of the new Predator movie Prey. Then, we want to address some of the people out there calling this movie too "woke?!" We'll go into what woke means and if the term is being overused today in our culture. We'll talk about the Twitter mob and cancel culture that wants to cancel celebs and public figures retroactively for past behaviors that might now be considered inappropriate by today's standards, and the harm in that. Then, lastly, we'll talk about how to be the eye of the storm in these whirlwind times and dealing with changes as we move into a different phase or stage in life, for example, like Rebecca and I, as we enter the "autumn" of our lives; and really, to find the calm and comfort of good mental health, relaxation, and good sleep despite all the scariness and craziness of the world. Part 2 of 2On this warm happy Friday vibes kind of day Rebecca and I just wanted to reach out to you guys with a bonus episode and jibber jabber about some of our observations going on in the world lately. Rebecca will tell a story of something that's going on at work, and in our society as a whole, and how we might be able to process that. Also, we talk about just how tribal our times are, and how and when it's time to take a stand and when to let it slide or ignore for selfcare. We'll talk about how I got out of religion and needed something grounded to rely upon, the skeptical community, and my thoughts and evolution not only on religion, but atheism and the skeptical community as well, and just how paranoid they get about people who think things they don't believe. Lastly, we dip our toe into the political arena and call out some Republicans for ignoring the needs of soldiers and veterans by not voting for the PACT act, to help soldiers deal with burn pit health issues, all the while calling themselves the bigger patriots. At the end of the day, we try not to get too political. But sometimes, the times call for clarity and honesty when it comes to the games being played and the framing of our political discourse, and how to see it all maturely and sensibly. EMERGENCY BONUS! My Take on the Supreme Court Roe v Wade Debacle, The Need for Political Literacy in Duplicitous Times, My Plea for Support as My Condition Worsens
Hey guys, I'm on hiatus right now to relax, recenter, and to perfect the brand and show for you guys. I'm really trying to make this more fun and useful by making it more community friendly, interactive and more festive with newsletters, a merch store, and more positive and uplifting content, and all kinds of new things coming down the line! But I felt compelled to address the rescinding of Roe v Wade by the Supreme Court and to explain it in a way that everyone can better understand. I talk about the importance of keeping our institutions in check and the need for political engagement and political literacy in complex and sometimes treacherous times, when it's easy to tune out for selfcare and sanity! As a strong realized empath and former soldier, I have always tried to advocate for the greater good. But as my condition worsens, I need you guys to understand why as a partially disabled proud guy with a long background of challenging careers, why I chose to do this podcast, and why it's so darn important that you guys help us to get over the hump, to get big enough to get sponsors, and how your small dollar donations are the super necessary morale boost we so urgently need right now! How just your pocket change will make the difference between growth and feeling terrific or for us going bust and losing all hope. We're trying to grow into a super-mega awesome resource, movement, and festive but mighty advocacy community for all people struggling in life, not just for empaths or people with minor mental health snags. But all people looking for kindness, honesty, decency, and humor by joining our Empath Tribe. You have a friend in us, all we ask is you help us grow to our fullest potential! Without your help, we're screwed! We're not looking for a handout but a hand up!As an army vet and former EMT I understand the need to be strong, independent, and to have character, duty, honor, decency, and dignity in our culture. As an intuitive empath I understand implicitly the struggle and emotional hardships in this harsh life for people, and that is why we offer our advice, sensitivity, and support to all people going through it. We're here to offer our friendship and support. To be a guiding, caring hand but also to have a strong sense of self and fairness, to know how to live in these turbulent and complicated times. To serve as an agent of good, a source promoting decency and advocating for what's right, sane, and best practices in this world for regular folks. At the end of the day, Rebecca and I aren't perfect. We don't try to sell ourselves as perfect or try to dupe people into some cult of personality celebrity public figure thing. We're just Bry and Rebecca, a couple of down-to-earth decent folks trying to find our people, those good people out there like us with no ulterior motives or agendas, to have a small but tight-knit kind community who helps each other. To find peace, comfort, clarity, purpose, validation, strength, empowerment, and good cheer in times that often feel very alone, uptight, serious and unkind. We're not motivated by politics or religion, but by a very real spiritual and emotional desire to be the change the world needs. Not because we're so darn perfect, but because energy is intention, and we intend to make the best of ourselves and this life with the best of you! Please help us get there! Please don't leave it up to somebody else who will also just leave it up to somebody else. We must take charge of our happiness by helping one another and assisting those good people doing good work in our culture and society! Thanks for being a part of our little Empath Tribe!Bry and Rebecca Russell"The world is in our hands, it's left to us, guys. And we gotta do something with it." -CapSupport the show Hosted on Acast. Season 3 Retrospective: What Went Right, Growth & Betterment, & the Difficulties of Putting on a Pure & Uplifting Show in Busy Cynical Times
On this season 3 closer, I just wanted to look back at some of the struggles and issues we've had to deal with, as well as some of the triumphs as well, and where we're going with the show and what the mission is for season 4. We're looking toward growth and perfecting of the Chef Bry Comedy brand, getting closer to and more interactive with our audience and Empath Tribe, and maximizing our voice by celebrating positivity, good mental health, robust living, and finding clarity, purpose, and value in a not always so clear or just world. At the end of the day we just want to connect with good real folks, make friends, spread cheer, hope, positivity, love, and gratitude, and continue fighting against regressive and tyrannical systems, and to continually fight for what's right and good in this big crazy world. To force this world to get kinder and more emotionally meaningful for good regular people for goodness sake! Thanks everyone for your friendship and support! Please if you can, continue helping us out while we're on hiatus so we can continue building and perfecting things! As we build the YouTube channel, start a merch store, start putting out newsletters to you fine folks, our Empath Tribe, and hopefully starting giveaways, and so much more! Please continue helping us grow by sharing the show with people you think would dig our cheerful and fun vibe! Stranger Pangs; Growing Pains, Soul Searching, Heartache, Nostalgia, & Finding Peace, Hope, & More Soulful Living Dealing with Stranger Things in a Strange New World
On this emotionally real and impactful episode I just get onto the mic and go for it, referencing the hit TV show Stranger Things and Star Trek throughout. Today, with no show notes Iike usual, I come straight from the heart prepped only with a profound spiritual feeling on the inside that I wanted to share, to speak about our life and times today, trying to find clues and a lifeline when searching for emotional contentment. Here I talk all about hardship, pain, grief, sadness, anxiety, growing up, and finding balance despite grief in order to heal when we do it correctly. I talk about expectation vs reality, thriving and peace despite turbulent times, growing up with hardships and adversities, and how to think about life proactively, and why continual emotional and mental health maintenance and deriving hope, peace, and meaning is so integral to optimal emotional and spiritual health. I speak about why mental health took front and center this season instead of the paranormal like I had planned for this season. We'll always be excited to talk about the paranormal, but we really did feel like good mental health and hope right now needed to be at the forefront in these times in the world today. I talk about about prioritizing life in worrisome times full of distractions, bad influences, and agendas, and ways we can process it all. To find new ways to recycle the old and start afresh with better attitudes and a happiness, contentment, and attitude that can endure. To gain real advantages over our mental health snags in a big crazy world full of indifference that seemingly will never care or understand what we're going through on the inside. Here, I try to decode the key to happiness, spiritual satisfaction, and inner-peace, getting over our less-than-perfect upbringing, and the turbulence and apathy in our culture today. To find and keep comfort, solace, confidence, hope, and the possibility of good things to come in our heart of hearts, in confusing and sometimes discouraging times. Here, I try to drop a few wisdom bombs and I hope you like the results. Thanks so very much for listening and thanks for your continued friendship and support. I think you might really get something spiritual and uplifting from this one, while still being fun too! Stranger things indeed! Bry Support the show Hosted on Acast. The UAP Congressional Hearing, UFO Phenomenon, Secret of Skinwalker Ranch, & This Exciting New Time in UFO / UAP Research!
On this very fun and mind-bending episode, Rebecca and I talk all about the very recent US Congressional Hearing on the UAP/UFO phenomenon that took place very recently on Tuesday, May 17, 2022! We'll go into all the details, the pros and the cons, our critical analysis, & the analysis of the hearing by top skeptics and private UFO professionals. The good news is we're entering into a new exciting era of governmental transparency, as well as removing the stigma of reporting UAP/UFO sightings by naval and military personnel. We'll go into all of the implications that can be derived, then we'll talk about the greater phenom of UFO sightings, as well as some of the most notable figures in the UAP movement. Lastly, we'll tie this all together via some of the evidence from the popular TV show on the History Channel, The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch! Johnny Depp Trial Final Thoughts, Mental Health Life Lessons, & Why Is This Stuff So Fascinating to People?
On this fun and light episode Rebecca and I break down the Johnny Depp trial, and what societal and mental health lessons can be derived from it? We talk about when it's time to believe someone and when something just doesn't pass muster. We'll talk about all the social and societal life lessons that can be derived from all this, as well as some of the frustrations when some people are simply unmoved by compelling evidence, facts, and reason, and how we must fight for our peace of mind and knowing our truth when society out there is going nuts, and how to preserve our own mental health and peace of mind when society and the media sphere loses its grips on the truth and maintaining peace, maturity, and objective reality. Supernatural & Paranormal Belief vs Disbelief, Meeting the Burden of Proof, Respecting People Who are Fundamentally Different from You
On this fun Friday vibes episode Rebecca & I talk all about belief and belief systems, and how and where we believe people must have a minimal burden of proof for something to exist or not. We'll talk about my belief scale, and we will talk about people's spiritual and religious differences, and how we can respect one another without necessarily believing what other people believe. Also, we talk about all the big beliefs out there, from supernatural beings like God, angels & demons, as well as paranormal entities like ghosts & black-eyed children, as well as biological critters such as bigfoot and other cryptids like the rake, mothman, etc. At the end of the day, we try to be open-minded and respectful of everyone's differences and belief systems, but sometimes beliefs are so outrageous that we just can't follow. So, we talk about that, and how we must learn to separate our respect for someone's beliefs from respecting the person themself. Is there ever a time where it's ok to disrespect someone's beliefs? We'll get into all of it! Such a fun episode you guys, please enjoy!Support the show Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

How to Find Mind, Body, & Soul Balance in a Sophisticated World & How to Maintain in a Torrent of Modern Day Technologies, Agendas, & Media Hysteria
On this episode Rebecca and I try to uncover the trick to happiness and balance amongst a torrent of media, modern-day technologies, and all the hype and hysteria out in the world. We'll talk about our recent medical issues and progress, as well as migraines and chronic pain and the stigma attached, as well as the world's agendas trying to get us to "suck it up" at the detriment of our health, balance, and happiness. We'll talk about how people are forced to feel bad for being human and fallible, and the agendas to forgo best practices and our own personal instincts for the workaday agenda. We will also talk about the stigma of chronic pain and migraine sufferers, and how to deal with people who just don't get it. We're going to talk about media and social media, and how to have a voice as an empath/introvert amongst a sea of loud brash people all clamoring for attention, validation, and fame, and how we should see these modern-day phenomena while finding our place in it. Lastly, we'll talk about where to draw the line between freedom of speech and accountability when some voices are echoing mentalities that are riling up dangerous predators and criminals, and what my advice is on all this stuff and what our attitude ought to be to preserve our own dignity, sanity, and continued happiness in a world full of news, talking heads, craziness, and noise. Reaching for the Stars & Finding your Most Empowered Life Despite your Station in Life
On this very animated and passionate episode my cohost Rebecca and I talk all about how we sometimes feel when life starts feeling socioeconomically unfair, and how it'll make ya feel all these various feelings, from anger and frustration to shame and guilt, etc., when unfairness and feeling not good enough starts running your life, and when all the wealth and wealth agendas, celebrity culture, and how rampant injustice, inequality, and systemic poverty seems like it's trying to make us feel bad in order to force us to relent or behave a certain way. We'll talk about how to get your mind, body, and spirit right after feeling these feelings start to take hold, and how to process our thoughts and feelings in a way that allows us to grow into the superstar we're all meant to be!Support the show Hosted on Acast. Is it Just Me or is Everything Getting Kinda Weird?! How I Cope When Everything Just Feels Weird & Off
On this episode I ask the question, "is it me, or are things getting weirder than ever!?" I want to address how things are starting to feel as an intuitive person on this planet during these times, and I want to put it all into perspective to find solutions, hope, and perspective in order to ride out these weird and more difficult times to arrive at a place where better attitudes and outcomes arrive sooner not later. At the end of the day, there's no reason to despair, there's no reason to blame yourself or find fault with yourself. These new and unprecedented times demand that we stay vigilante and place the blame on society itself. We are not failing our society; society is beginning to fail us! In order to create better and more sustainable outcomes, we must first be able to identify what's going on and why, then to believe in ourselves enough to take the reins of our own happiness and agency to find better, and to maintain more sustainable times moving forward. Sometimes, we just have to embrace the chaos because the world is a rather big and unusual place. Here, I talk about how to figure out what's going on and what can be done about it.Source:https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/25/jobs-is-the-great-resignation-over.html Support the show Hosted on Acast. From human behavior to relationships and love, to our inherent biases. We'll talk about some of the witnesses and testimony and our impressions on it, and what this trial can tell us about abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, relationships, and how relationships and love can make ya downright crazy! On this fun and irreverent episode, Rebecca and I talk about how in a top-down society us regular folks start to feel like we have no value, have no say, and have nothing to make us feel worthy in a society that's always pushing the "might makes right" agenda. How these wealthy and sophisticated systems make us feel bad about ourselves, and how to empower yourself in a society where there are a million know-it-alls all trying to own and rule us, and how to stay empowered, even if you're not wealthy or "successful" by society's standards. When Life Gets so Real that You Just Can't Even...
Honesty and being direct is always the best policy, and while you guys know by now that we're not only trying to be a strong, intelligent, vigilant, positive, and ever growing and expanding brand, movement, show, and resource for regular folks all about advocacy, positivity, hope, and helping regular struggling people though their regular life problems offering advice, encouragement, and resources; but we're also just regular people with our own host of very real problems in these very real times as well. On this episode I go into the weeds of who Rebecca and I really and truly are, what our real-life problems are, and why we need this to succeed both emotionally and spiritually, and why we started this podcast, brand, and movement. But also, why its so essential that it continues to grow, expand, and continue on.While I will not go into that into that goodnight without a fight, every once in a while you do hit an emotional or financial snag every now and then where you reach a point where you start to feel like the world has grown too big, cynical, indifferent, broken, and uncaring to ever feel like you could succeed doing anything anymore, let alone something as bold as this! I'm trying to combine the things that I love; radio, helping people, finding mental health clarity, advocating for hypersensitive types, and advice and encouragement for people suffering from minor mental health snags and the workaday life woes. I'm a strong veteran, realized empath, fitness runner, organizer, motivational speaker, influencer, tech savvy radio personality, activist, and all-around decent and caring human being with a fun-loving sensibility and sense of humor, with a strong desire to do some real good in this world before I go, and before it's too late. But like I have said before, we really need your help until we grow enough to get the attention of sponsors to help pay for the show and grow the brand and movement. This episode goes into the details of our hardships, and feelings, and why this is such an important spiritual passion project for us, and why we care so much about it in times where most folks in the world don't care much about anyone or anything anymore, and even when they do, don't really know what to do, or just can't do much about it. This podcast has a 5/5 rating because most of the time we bring our A game, and work hard to be both funny, insightful, informative, and real. Because we are committed to continuing to perfect our business model and brand, and maximize the benefit in or culture and society for average folks, sensitives and empaths, and regular people toiling to find clarity and purpose, and straight talk about mental health, who often struggle staying encouraged in these very corporate, robotic and plastic times. It's no wonder we're all looking backward to yesteryear, to nostalgia, to better simpler times. But I have a dream you guys, and with your help, I sincerely believe that my dream can come true.To start coalitions, to educate people on forward thinking progress, class, and dignity. To fight the status quo, to gut-check oppressive and regressive systems we find ourselves surrounded by. To fight against low wages, empty promises, and the corporate greed and wealth agendas that has the vast majority of us working jobs we hate on wages we can't get ahead on, for corporate oligarchs and tyrants spending millions trying to unwind progress and the laws in order to maximize their own profits at the peril of the regular working people and at the detriment to the sustainability of our economy and culture. But we're not here to depress you, we're here to impress upon you the urgency of now, and to advocate and celebrate regular working-class people who share our homespun values.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. Recognizing Good in Regular People, How to Capture our Inner-Superhero, our Inner Cool Kid Within
On this episode Rebecca and I explore how to see the good in real life people, where that comes from, and discerning real goodness within from those who might not be entirely coming from a place of good intentions. We talk about superheroes, our favorites, and their contribution to society, and what qualities we cherish in them, and how they help us to find our goodness and bravery within. We talk about the difference between those who have "it" and those who don't. What is the "it" factor when it comes to goodness, kindness, coolness, and having that cool natural likeability thing that seems to be so natural in some people, this inherent sense of cool, calm, collectedness, and the successes and spoils therein, and how can we capture the "it" factor in all of us? We talk about the qualities that make up a good person from a bad person, and how to find the good inside of people who are not perfect, but who are trying to be an agent of good on the whole. We talk about how to embrace who we really are on the inside and making that a cool thing. At the end of the day, greatness and coolness is different for everybody, and attitudes and agendas out there range from the practical to the boisterously ridiculous to the tragically shallow, and those folks who are getting strange and bad attitudes thinking they're getting stronger, when all they're really doing is becoming creeps. We talk about the difference between being strong, fierce, and embodying a "spiritual warrior," and getting downright cruel, indifferent, mean, and not coming correct. Here, we try to sort out the good from the bad, and how to embrace a positivity, strength, and greatness within, but here in the real world, not what characters can get away with in the movies. Thank you for listening, we really enjoyed making this one, it was both a lot of fun and an eye opener! Thank you so very much for embracing us, we're really coming into our own, finding ourselves, and embracing who we want to be and sincerely loving you fine people as well! Working Through our Differences to Arrive at a Place of Peace, Harmony & Love, or at Least, Tolerance & Working Together as a Culture & Society Today
We're so divided today, whether it's politics, religion, or finances, it's tough trying to make sense of the word where there's so many agendas and attitudes. Some politically motivated, some financial, some just based on our differences. But at the end of the day Rebecca and I want to get to the bottom of our differences and try to uncover not only some of the overlap we can all share as a people, but also, perhaps try to learn from each other's point of view. Here, we take on subjects like the differences between Oregon and California since moving to Oregon a little over 7 years ago, and some of the things we like and don't like about both. We talk about trying to find an appreciation for those rivals and folks who are different from us and celebrating our common base values. We take on the subject of equality vs equity, and what are the differences and similarities, as well as tolerance vs intolerance, and finding the class, grace, and maturity to come together to solve our biggest problems together to help try to elevate regular people and build a stronger middle class. We're trying to find ways in which we can all get along and work together, and I'm not exactly optimistic yet about it! But here, Rebecca and I put on our thinking caps to try to get to the heart of what's going on in our culture and times today. We may never agree on the solutions, hell, we may never even agree on objective reality! But what we should be able to do, at minimal, is to try to agree to put our differences aside so that we can start finding real answers to the issues that are killing the heart and soul of people trying to live in the world today! 52 Pick-Me-Ups, Little Tips & Tricks for a Better, Funner, & Easier Life
Back in the day my gramps would ask me as a small boy, "Hey, wanna play a new card game?!" In my excitement, I'd say "yeah sure ok!" "It's called 52 Pickup!" "Oh ok, how do you play that?!" Then, invariably, he'd throw all 52 cards on the floor and say, "now pick 'em up!" Hardy har har! My gramps was a bigtime jokester, that's just how he was. There was no malice in his heart, he was just an old WWII vet who, if he liked you, would joke, poke, prod, mess with, and rib and jab with you. It was just his way of saying that he liked you! Because if he didn't like a person, he'd completely ignore the person! Anyway, I'm calling this episode "52 Pick-me-ups" in honor of my grandfather, who was the strongest, kindest, most clam and easygoing soul I ever met. Since his passing in 2006, I've really grown to miss him and my grandma very much. He's really become, along with my grandma, someone I think about often to offer me cosmic wisdom from beyond! He's become my Obi Wan in essence, and for whom without his teachings I would never have become the man I am today. He taught me wisdom, calm, grace under fire, a relaxed and jovial demeanor, and to be capable and steady as she goes. I am the person I am today due to his guidance and example. Because everything good about me is due to him and his teachings, I am titling this show "52 pick-me ups" in honor of one of the greatest and wisest man who I've ever known. He wasn't fancy, he wasn't sophisticated, and occasionally his solutions were sometimes "crude but effective!" But at the end of the day, he didn't worry about the world, he didn't fret over what's going on in the world, he didn't spend his time caring what others were doing, saying, or thinking. He didn't get caught up in anything he thought was nonsense, he just did his thing, raised his family to the best of his abilities, and had his simple pleasures in life, tinkering in the garage, fixing his little boat (by the end it was more Bondo than wood!), watching his football, and fishing with his friends. I have a feeling that if he were alive today, he'd say something like, "people get so uptight about everything." Sometimes his words come to me, and often speak through me, in a weird way. Since my list was 52 things, and my grandfather is the person I learned the most about life and inner toughness from, I thought it was a fitting tribute to the man. They just don't make 'em like that anymore. I miss you gramps.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Feeling Broken & Out of Gas Only Proves that You're Still Sane
On this no holds barred episode Rebecca and I talk about trying to hold it together most of the time, but how eventually life just keeps coming at ya, and you begin to run out of gas and start feeling broken again, and what we can do about it. We get a little bit into religion and politics, but at the end of the day we're here to be ambitious and positive helpers and healers, but every so often you got to "go there" to get stuff off your chest in order to process your feelings and reclaim your happiness and empowerment. Even us free thinking positive optimist creative types run out of faith and steam now and then, and this is show is all about that! Passion, we have learned, is a saloon door in that it can fuel our positivity as well as fuel our disgust and frustration in certain things. But at the end of the day, it's all a part of being human and desiring a better society and more opportunities and hope for regular struggling folks. We're here as a resource for everyone who needs help finding hope, sanity, and realness in a world pretending but not always acting on ways we can improve for the middle class and regular working people. https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/chefbrycomedyPayPal.Mehttps://linktr.ee/chefbrycomedySurviving Empathy Podcast | LinktreeSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. Demons, Malicious Entities, Portals to Hell, Soul Collecting, & My Take on the Phenomenon
On this informative and spooky episode, we take a deep dive into demons and malicious entities and try to get down to the bottom of the phenomenon. Over the years I have witnessed a duplicity of repeated phenomenon that has informed my understanding of what is going on here. From demonic infestation, oppression, and possession to lashing out, to portal creation, to soul collecting, dark dwelling, and the harvesting of human spirits in order to draw energy for their dark, mischievous paranormal parasitic purposes. I talk about the difference between demons in real life vs pop culture and movies, demons vs other mischievous paranormal entities, and what these creatures just might be and what they want. I theorize what they most likely are, where they come from, what their motives likely are, how they came to be, as well as how we must handle demons and the paranormal as a whole. You will not find this wealth of new information anywhere else, as these are my own conclusions and speculations as a lifelong paranormal enthusiast and empath with years of dedicated thought and research into the paranormal, from an energetic intuitive's perspective. Friday Vibes Every Day & The Path to Success & Prosperity in REAL Terms
On this episode I talk about my love, excitement, and nostalgia for Friday, and with that, Friday vibes, and how to find and capture those Friday vibes every day! Contrarily, Monday vibes can be the pits, and I talk about that as an empath. Here I talk about how to find success, wisdom, greater happiness, and better attitudes and habits that can lead to a more open, free, and prosperous life. Not by sugar coating everything, not by taking the advice of rich influencers through generic ridiculous means, but by gaining a real and everlasting appreciation of life, and finding the courage, agency, and calm to continue growing and getting bigger and bolder to become one's truest self. In doing so, attaining the fun and hopeful life you want and deserve. This is advice coming from an imperfect person living in the real world with real problems, not from some sunny sandy beach with a daquiri in hand, but living in the real world of struggle, hardship, grief, frustration, disappointment, and constant worry. With all the accumulated wisdom and appreciation that I have attained through the school of hard knocks and learning the hard way, I talk about all things I had to go through in order to finally find perspective to boldly find new ways to make a better life, find balance, and to continually grow so I can become the person I want to be, and to live the happy life I want for myself and all those I love and care about, including you! My Urgent Plea for Help & Mental Health Check In 2.0
On this episode Rebecca and I have another mental health check-in day, where we all open up about how we're doing right now, and what's going right and what's going wrong. Then, I make my urgent plea to you guys, my awesome loyal and kind empath tribe and audience to help spread the word of the show, and to please help us out in any way you can. We talk about our upbringing, our trials and tribulations, the workaday life, and all the things we've done over the years, and how and why we grew into the strong empath warriors, healers, and advocates we are today. We continually fight for the rights and happiness of all good regular people. Still, as much as we've grown and bettered ourselves over the years, we still need the help and support of others, because at the end of the day, we all do! This is where you come in. By helping out just a little tiny bit, you can help support the show and its long-term growth and sustainability, and thereby help turn this into something truly amazing and inspired! We've already helped a lot of people, from our strong positive but realistic messaging to our good cheer, to helping people out of regressive situations and narcissistic abuse, and everything in between. We've already done some pretty amazing things! So, imagine what we can do with more time and our collective power working together!? Imagine what can be done to shape this world if we simply pitched in and helped one another! Eventually, I'd like this to grow this into something big, bold, and beautiful, by creating charities, resources, and opportunities, raising awareness, and offering hope and good cheer in this world for all those regular struggling working folks out there, looking to get ahead and have a fun, happy life in these challenging times.PayPal- PayPal.Me www.paypal.me/chefbrycomedyLinks - Surviving Empathy Podcast | Linktreewww.linktr.ee/chefbrycomedySupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. Paranormal 101- Ghost Hunting & Equipment, Common Phenomenon & Techniques vs Less Common, What is the Spirit World, Sorting Fact from Fiction for Clarity & Good Mental Health
On this episode Rebecca and I talk about common ghost hunting techniques and equipment, and less common practices we've seen, and whether or not they're valid or not. We also talk about portals and what they might be, and how they might be created, and the possibilities of what they are and how they act. Lastly, we talk about how the paranormal and spirituality can go too far, blurring the line of reality, and the possible consequences when letting our superstitions go too far, opening ourselves to psychic attack, losing balance, and possibly having mental, emotional, or spiritual health issues if we aren't' careful. At the end of the day all this stuff is fun and fascinating, but it's also a realm we must tread carefully in. So, we talk about how we can find clarity and balance when dealing with the paranormal as an interest, as well as anything spiritual or on another level of existence, so that we stay tethered to reality and don't go too far or invite something dark into our lives inadvertently. Thanks so much for allowing us into your lives! We are working harder than ever to grow this into something truly fun, meaningful, and positive for good mental health and robust living, as a resource for empaths, as well as to take on the paranormal in an open-minded but scientifically grounded and realistic way. You can help us by pitching in a couple of bucks on Patreon, as well as sharing this with everyone you think might be interested in empath stuff, paranormal and cryptids, or just good mental health for those struggling in life, be it with your job or with some mental health snag. We're here for all of that! Thanks for your friendship and support!Bry and Rebecca RussellSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. A Real and Honest Talk about Being an Empath, How to Find Balance & Good Cheer During Negativity Overload
On this episode I talk about what it's REALLY like to be an empath, and what it's like dealing with this hyper-awareness and hypersensitivity in a world that's often not always as positive, forward thinking, or as kind as we'd like. I try to come here to be my truest self, in order to demonstrate that being an empath doesn't preclude you from having to deal with real everyday mundane problems, from insecurity and mental health snags, to a strong impatience in wanting the world to evolve and catch up to our kind, evolved, and more forward-thinking sensibilities, but also, in a way that's not arrogant, pretentious, or fake. We want to create a better, kinder world, and sometimes we have to accept the fact that the world won't always acquiesce to our wants and needs. But if we find balance, humor, and heart we can live a happier, more joyous, more emotionally present, more empowered, self-assured, and freer life without too much guilt, shame, or setbacks. In essence, to accept and forgive that which we cannot change, and to keep on enjoying this life in all its absurdity, mundandity, and imperfect glory. Bry's Big Pep Talk! Finding Agency, Freedom, and Will Power to Defeat Our Inner-Failures & Find the Grit & Determination to Succeed & Be Happy!
As a sensitive empath who's lived the workaday life for over 30 years, I know what this world will do to our happiness and sense of identity and freedom over time. In this episode I borrow from the movie Collateral starring Jamie Fox and Tom Cruise to illustrate how we can sometimes inadvertently become complacent, weak, afraid, and tired of life to the point that we stop advocating for our best interests, and invariably, we allow people to determine our sense of identity and worth. As such, we allow people to walk all over us, we allow our employers to get away with everything, and we barely hang on to survive, instead of finding the grit and determination to become the best version of ourselves that we can. Discerning the Truest Nature of the Paranormal, Mythic Creatures vs Real Paranormal Entities, Respecting the Paranormal, Opening Ourselves to Psychic Attack & How to Stay Protected
In this season 3 opener, Rebecca and I try to figure out the truest nature of the paranormal, separating hype and hoopla from reality, as well as trying to gain a perspective on whether certain entities and phenomena is real, imagined, or something in between. We talk about demons, "internal demons," and malicious entities, and finding balance and protection in the paranormal. Plus, we talk about how to get into the paranormal, especially as energetic sensitives, and how to protect yourself and your mental and energetic health from the paranormal and psychic attacks. BONUS EPISODE- Self-caring, Content Creators vs Egoists, Keeping Your Life Small & Heart Big, What's to Come Next Week in Season 3 Opener
On this fun and light bonus episode Rebecca and I talk about self-caring in these particularly weird and stressful times, and we talk about going through fibro pain and migraines, and the necessity to selfcare whenever necessary for mental or physical health upkeep. We talk again a little bit about the difference between content creators with real expertise vs those just doing it to feel self-important, who often give bad information, do it to feel superior, or who target others for no good reason other than to climb to their higher status. That said, we strive to get folks to believe in themselves and to escape bad jobs where perhaps they feel depressed, hopeless, or persecuted, and to believe in themselves enough to go for it! But when you do that though, the importance of not allowing that power to go to your head, or inadvertently damaging others in the process. BONUS EPISODE- Growing the Show and the Brand, Good Folks Trying to Help vs Those Trying to Destroy Others
On this show we're always trying to fight for good regular folks, and to talk about the empath phenomenon in a down to earth and kitchen table talk sort of way. To remove the grandiose "magic and mystery" of the phenomenon and to simply talk about it in a natural way that makes sense, without trying to prop ourselves up in some egotistical or self-important sort of way. We do not get a big head about being empaths or about being on a podcast, nor do we try to sell ourselves as something we are not. But to simply talk about our lives and the phenomenon in a way that allows others to find answers for themselves and to find a better way to see the world. But we're not here solely for empaths, but for all good regular people who want to beat their mental health struggles, and to find greater, more robust health and a more enjoyable life. But also, to fight systemic regressiveness in order to create a happier, more fun, healthier, and more carefree and less punitive society. At the end of the day, we try to be as down to earth and relatable as possible, and to demonstrate being empaths in such a way where it demystifies the supernatural stigma of it, and highlights that we "sensitives" must be especially mindful living in a an oftentimes hateful, hurtful, and sometimes aggressive society. We want to empower empaths and those struggling with mental health snags, to support and help regular working-class folks who are perhaps burning out or growing weary of the workaday life, and who need a little boost of straight talk with fun ordinary folks. But sometimes there will always exist somebody out there who makes it their life goal to target and destroy those they deem are different from them. To take others down a peg for their own hateful agendas, claiming without sufficient evidence of somebody else's lacking in credibly, and trying to hurt, harm, destroy, or cancel anyone who doesn't have their same narrow understanding of being an empath as they do. In other words, some people have too much time on their hands, and a hateful agenda, who spend their time trying to defame and discredit others, calling them hoaxers simply because that person thinks differently about the phenomenon as they do, asserting they're "the real deal" while all these other folks aren't. When in reality these types of people are cold, unkind, and unhinged, with an agenda to target perfect strangers for their own popularity and validation gains, who may or may not have selfish motives.Fortunately, with this fellow, I found him before he found me, and was able to block them before he had a change to potentially target me. I scanned their Instagram page, and he makes a lot of wild accusations and tries to defame people simply because some empaths have different ways of thinking about it. So here on this episode, I talk about watching out for sociopaths or hateful types posing as empaths, and to watch for people who play fast and loose with their freedom in order to destroy the reputations of anyone they don't agree with, understand, or like. Anyone willing to publicly expose and destroy someone without sufficient evidence of wrongdoing is an especially harmful type of person, especially when they do it under the guise of saying they're on the side of good without being self-aware enough of their own wrongdoing. I will continue to watch this person safely from a distance, and take appropriate action if need be. Anyway, enjoy this bonus episode!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

BONUS EPISODE- Creating an Energy Field of Positivity, Joy, and Calm That Endures, and How to Process Life and the "Energetic World" as an Empath
There's no denying that we all struggle from time to time, especially us energetically sensitive empath types when dealing with the real world. Over time, I personally start to feel like I'm allowing those negative vibes out there to get inside of me and take over my happiness and joy for a time, and allow it to start chipping away at my mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Then, in my weakened state, I start to feel overwhelmed by all those sensations, all the negativity, and I get overwhelmed by all that I'm experiencing in the moment. Because, despite our best efforts, our protection and blocking strategies don't always last, and we're not staying in oureenergetic equilibrium. It takes over the steering wheel and starts doing the driving for a time, where I start to feel like I'm not processing all the negative vibes correctly. It takes over and starts making decisions for me temporarily. From there it can sometimes spiral your life balance and mental health out of control, until we excise it and start to reestablish control over ourselves, our boundaries, and our energy field. This can make it difficult to discern our own personal problems from the world's out there, so sometimes we have to take back control over our happiness, calm, and positive vibes again! Sometimes it gets hard as an empath to discern where the world's problems end and where our personal problems begin! It's not easy being empathically sensitive. In this spontaneous uplifting episode, I talk about creating a protective energy field between us and the rest of the world, where we must make sure to create a barrier of sorts around us, and to sort our own life and problems from the world's, while simultaneously learning ways to take life and energy in "digestible portions." Plus, I try to explain why I talk about 'downer' things from time to time. No empath can take on all the energy, vibes, and our own collective issues all at once. So, I talk about techniques I use to take my energetic agency back when the word starts taking over and draining me of my energy and joy, and how we must create a protective layer around ourselves with our own specific "energy signature." I wanted this episode to be more positive, and to explain why I find it necessary to tackle some of life's more difficult subjects sometimes. I'd much rather be happy and positive all of the time! But reality persists, so we have to find a happiness and energy surplus forever rain day. But we also have to let go and move forward after a bout of some kind, and I talk about how I try to reestablish happiness, normalcy, and balance after a bout of emotional turbulence or after I do a more difficult show. I hope you enjoy the positivity and good vibes here! Happy birthday Grandma! Come on over and be a part of our empath tribe @chefbrycomedy or Surviving Empathy Podcast. We're here to help. BONUS EPISODE! - One Big Rant about What I Care About
In this unrehearsed, unscripted bonus episode, I talk passionately about the things I care about and why, and why I'm so passionate about helping people and bringing about happier people, a better world, and better outcomes as a society and species. In order to change the world, we must first learn to see objective reality, not shy away from it. There's plenty of wonderful aspects to life that is truly beautiful and awesome. But there's much still we can do to bring about a better and more fair world for regular working people, and those who struggle just to maintain. So, please don't scrutinize this episode too closely, it's just an off the cuff monologue just to help my audience and newcomers understand where we're coming from. Season 2 Finale- Mental Health Review, Mental Health Self-Assessment, What's to Come in Season 3
In this season 2 finale, Rebecca and I talk all about good mental health. Borrowed from an article about assessing mental health and giving education and resources to Canadian students, we aptly translate their useful information to help any and all people to assess their own mental health fitness, to learn where to draw the line in their own mental health and mental health needs, to seek and find positive peer groups and communities, how to empower your own mental health, and where to find resources for folks struggling with personal mental health issues, or issues which involve friends, relatives, children, etc. We here at Surviving Empathy Podcast are not only about exploring and uncovering the creepy aspects of life in the paranormal realm, but to also speak candidly and openly in a judgment free and stigma free zone about mental health, and a range of topics many podcasts and radio don't want or don't know how to talk about. We're here to build a community, an "empath tribe" if you will, and to empower and assist regular folks live a more robust, cheerful, and fulfilling life. Sure, we talk about ghosts! Yes, we talk about empath stuff! But we also keep it real and want to keep the conversation alive in our society about a range of subjects that don't get the attention they deserve! We're going on a 1-month hiatus, in which time I will be creating a supplemental YouTube channel to help folks see what we're all about, as well as offer interesting empath and paranormal videos, tidbits, and resources. I'm also working on a Patreon page with tiers so you can help support us and our cause for the cost of a cup of Joe! We are not corporate, we have no big business building, we're just 2 regular people working from home who happen to be empaths, living in the real world, who sincerely desire to make the world a little bit kinder and better place to live in, and to talk about all the things that help satisfy not only our supernatural and mortal curiosities, but topics that satisfy our soul as well. Thank you so very much for your friendship and support. Stay tuned for season 3 starting in March! Relationships, Falling Outs, Grudges, and How to Process Negativity to Find and Keep Your Happiness and Empowerment Intact
In this episode Rebecca and I talk about relationships, falling outs, holding grudges, and so many things that deal with relationship problems and interpersonal communications. We'll discuss how to find our way out of grief when there's a falling out. We'll talk about dealing with negative emotions both in ourselves and in others, and how to come out the other end with our good mental health intact. We'll talk about fake people, posers, grifters, and imposters, and how to identify the genuine article from the fake ones. We'll talk about holding onto grudges, falling outs, and dealing with the temporary nature of some relationships, and how to tell lifelong friends from temporary ones. We'll address the "woke culture" movement for better and for worse. We'll talk about old friends vs new friends, and the reasons we tend to cling to our firsts of everything. Lastly, well talk about the difference between ego and self-respecting yourself. There's a big difference between loving yourself and loving yourself just a bit too much. Thanks for all the well wishes while Rebecca and I struggle with sickness, but we're happy to report we're almost back to our old selves! Realizing Your Value and Worth in the Real World, Self-Care after a Physical or Emotional Illness, Fighting against Stigmas
Just having been diagnosed with Covid a few days ago, Rebecca and I are still on the mend, so we thought there was no better time to talk about how to find ourselves, our identity, and our true value and worth in the real word, where nobody really seems to notice or care about regular working-class people anymore. Then we'll talk about a range of mini topics, as well as who we are, where we come from, and just who and what we care about, and why we're doing this show here for all of you. Then, how to recover after a physical or emotional illness or injury. We'll also tackle the topic of stigmas, and how we can fight against judgement, ridicule, scrutiny, and the stigma of mental health issues, or something similar. Just so you know, Rebecca and I are fully vaccinated and boosted, and we wear are masks everywhere we go, and do all the right things but still caught covid. But fortunately, because we are fully vaccinated, the symptoms were mostly mild and short-lived. Yeah science! The thing we learned is that you can do all the right things and still catch covid. Much like in life, you can do everything right and still not succeed. So, what has to change for there to be movement? We'll talk about that. We want to thank everyone who's come out to wish us well, and we thank all of you guys for your continued friendship and support. We should be back to our normal selves in a few days. In the meantime, I'm taking it a little bit slower, but should be back to my normal ability by next week. Thanks for your understanding! The Spirit of Compassion and Kindness
In this episode we talk about what we believe the spirit of compassion and kindness is and where that comes from and why. Then we'll share with you an article that talks about "The 10 Ways to Show Compassion," using the word COMPASSION as an acronym. We'll talk a little bit about being "crusty but kind," and where that comes from and why. We'll talk about why we think our culture and society is losing its "moral leaders" and moral leadership, that serves as an example to better the human race and human experience. Then lastly, we'll talk about some types of folks and things to watch out for, to watch out for "false prophets," and those people who are trying to sell you on their mastery of something that can't be entirely knowable. Thank you for joining Rebecca and I on another fun and enjoyable episode of Surviving Empathy, a show that doesn't just speak of kindness, but tries to live it and spread it to the world at large! If you'd like to be kind and compassionate to us, you could always leave us a positive review, or share our show with your friends and family who are interested in knowing more about empaths, mental health, the paranormal and cryptids, and living a more robust and healthy life. We'll never try to sell you on perfectionism, as Rebecca and I aren't perfect people. We are, however, simply good natured, well-intentioned empaths with good vibes, who want to make the world a kinder, gentler, more functional, and less punitive place. Together, we can build a coalition to get all kinds of folks cut form the same cloth to understand the importance of class, grace, and dignity, as well as empowering ourselves and each other, to build a small tight knit community, an "empath tribe," if you will, where we can begin to hopefully evolve our society and culture to a place where we start helping one another more often, start building people up, building bridges, and building a community to share in our triumphs and hardships and setbacks alike. Dealing with a Case of "The Morbs," Contemplating Existence, Reality, and Mortality, and How to Ascend to the Highest Level of Self-Actualization to Achieve Greater Happiness
January is just one of those months where a case of the doldrums sets in, and it gets ya thinking about life, existence, and mortality. I think that's perfectly normal and natural to get a case of "the morbs" from time to time, especially in January, when the new year hasn't quite taken shape yet, and the promise of change and betterment seems nowhere in sight! January is naturally a letdown month, from all the months of fun and festivity from the holiday season, as well as a time when reality sets in, and with that, a sense of worry, darkness, and despair. But there is hope you guys! On this episode Rebecca and I talk all about how we get through January and those gloomier times, as well as how we try to see life and the world from a "greater cosmological perspective." To try to put our lives into perspective, and how to stay the course with our happiness, progress, and drive, so that everything doesn't entirely unravel; and how to maintain during the darkest and lowest of times. We'll also talk about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, and how to attain greater self-actualization, and with that, greater clarity, comfort, and happiness. Hang in there you guys, January is just the shits sometimes, but we'll get through it together! Thanks for being a part of my empath tribe! Living in Emergency Mode for too Long
In this episode I talk about living in emergency mode for too long, and how it has a lasting effect on our psyches, our personality, our attitudes about life and people, and how we choose to become either more or less selfish, more or less kind, more or less robust, empowered, and more or less enriched in our lives. Then I'll talk about how we might fight this phenomenon. We can't always change our workaday life circumstances right away, but there are ways to enrich ourselves emotionally and intellectually, ways to explore our passion and freedom, and ways to make our lives have more value and meaning than the sum total of how our job or humdrum life makes us feel. Then, I'll talk about a close personal friend who died, how it's making me sink into a rut, and how I choose to see and process it, and what we can do to learn from life's more grim harshness, from mortality, and from gritty "unmagical" realism. Rest in peace Emidio, I love you, you were a fun and special guy, and I will miss you friend. The Dark Triad, The D Factor, and How it Relates to Real Life and Real People
In this episode we continue the conversation about the dark triad of personality traits first started on Season 1 Episode 23 called "Empaths vs Dark Empaths vs Sociopaths, The Dark Triad, and How to See the World and Yourself Correctly in These Complex Times." This is new research and an addition of brand-new information about the dark triad of traits; narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy, to include 6 new trait factors, as well as new research examining what's called The D Factor, which means The Dark Factor in all human beings, which examines the darkness in all people, and measures to what extent. We will go into the D Factor, as well as these newly added associated traits that lend greater understanding and clarity to the Dark Triad, and how it relates to the real world. When you understand these traits, not only can we then protect ourselves from these traits in others, but we can also gain an understanding so that we might evolve past our dark tendencies as a species, in order to create a better, freer, more equal, and less punitive world. At the end of the day, we're trying to make the world more free, more equal, and fairer for regular folks; to create a world in our image, not the sociopaths and psychopaths who are forcing the world to be more difficult, less evolved, less equal, more punitive, and put plainly, just a shittier place to live. So long as we can recognize our rights and value, we must fight for them in a world bent on exploiting and mishandling us! Welcome to OUR Empath Tribe!
On this episode I talk about what my empath tribe is and what it's all about, and what I'm trying to build for all of us. I feel like there's a ton of good people and good intentions out there in the world. Just that, we've all become sort of beholden to systems that aren't always so selfless, compassionate, or giving. When religion has become somewhat transactional, and there's not a ton of infrastructure in place for a sense of goodness, faith, and community, especially for empaths, it made me realize the importance of community, faith, hope, opportunity, and positivity, geared specifically towards all those empaths, introverts, creatives, depressives, hypersensitives, mental health challenged, and workaday life folks working regular working jobs; who're all struggling to find meaning, purpose, and hope. To build a platform, infrastructure, community, charities, and opportunities for those people, just like us! To build a community towards the betterment and sucess of all those folks who struggle just like us, and to create and endow a real infrastructure and sense of home and resources towards helping real people for real, without a lot of the baggage, worry, or hassles most churches, communities, and platforms inherently come with. To put it simply, to create a virtual/physical/emotional/spiritual infrastructure for empaths by empaths, and all those groups I mentioned. To dare to dream, dare to care, and provide a sense of positivity, hope, community, resources, and opportunities for regular folks just like you and me. Who've been misunderstood and ostracized for being an empath or being a little bit different. To me, a little bit different is usually a good thing! Please listen to the episode and please stay tuned. I'll be building OUR empath tribe in the coming weeks and months, and any and all pertinent information will be put in the description of the episodes, as well as on all my social media platforms @chefbrycomedy on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. This is just the beginning. There so much more to come. But I need your help!Simply by sharing this show with your paranormal junkie and empath friends, anyone struggling in this life, and anyone who's just going through it in life or at their job. Mental Health Check In
This time of year, the hustle bustle of work and Christmas, and everything else that's going on, this is the likely the happiest, yet ironically, the most difficult time of the year in terms of mental health is concerned. So, we thought this would be a very good time to take this opportunity to have a little mental health check in day to see how we're doing, and how you're doing! I work extremely hard to put out thoughtful and meaningful content, but sometimes because I'm so mission-oriented to put out serious and useful content for you all, that I often forget to show you guys that I also have a light and funny side too! Because I care so much about what I'm doing here, I feel like sometimes my sense of humor and lighter side doesn't get a chance to come out, and that oftentimes, when I'm speaking about certain serious and deep things, you only see the side of me that's going through it, or upset, or that's deep and serious. With Christmas just around the corner, we thought it was really good time to check in on ourselves, each other, and you guys just to make sure everyone is keeping up with their mental health. Because at the end of the day, mental health, just like sucess or anything in life, progress is cumulative and incremental. How to Find a Happy Medium in our Thinking, in our Culture, and in our Lives to Achieve Greater Clarity, Happiness, and Balance in an Imperfect World
In a crazy topsy turvy world we're all looking for comfort, balance, and validation. To find answers to our mortal questions, and to try to understand who and what we are, and what this world is to achieve greater clarity and purpose in life. Sometimes it gets hard to maintain our mental health, and sometimes it gets hard to see and understand other's attitudes and points of views. So, on this episode, I began to think about the yin and yang of life, and how we might be able to assess ourselves and this word to achieve greater understanding; and through that, greater comfort and happiness. This world has become divided so much, by the haves vs. the have nots, through racial and gender differences, through sociopolitical and socioeconomic differences, so that by the end of the day we tend to believe that diversity and differences are a good thing. So why is it then that we only seem to like diversity and differences when it's with people we agree with? At the root of our culture, politics, and economics, what is it that seems to be chipping people away from their kindness and understanding, and creating more division, hate, chaos, and more problems than we solve? At the end of the day, we all want to live in a better world, to be happier and more at peace with ourselves and with others, with a greater sense of purpose and clarity. So, at the end of the day, we have more balance in our lives. While hardly perfect, I think I came to realize what exactly is at the root of most cultural divisiveness, and at the heart of why people can't seem to ever find lasting comfort and happiness in their lives. This episode explores all the various things that contribute to our problems, and then we begin to address how we might change our lives and thinking to achieve more lasting mental health, happiness, clarity, comfort, and joy that can endure over time and hardships. Paranormal Talk
On this episode Rebecca and I talk about the paranormal as a field of study, from ghosts to cryptids, to witches, to mythic figures, legends, beasts, and lore. We want to try to separate fact from fiction, while maintaining our appreciation for cultural heritages, multiculturalism, and respecting legends and lore, while trying to figure out how ancient lore came to be, and to what extent legends and lore is based in reality, and to what extent cultures borrow from lore to create urban legends, myths, and ancient beliefs in the supernatural and cryptids. Lastly. we'll talk about the paranormal phenomenon and zeitgeist as an industry. and what the implications might be of oversaturation in our public arena.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. The Very REAL Science of Being an Empath, and How to Deal with Skeptics, Cynics, and Those who Might Judge and Attack Us
This episode is all about the science of the empath phenomenon. There are actual biological factors which may exist which explains why some people are more energetically sensitive than others. We'll go into those factors, then talk about all the haters, skeptics, cynics, and people out there who may try to judge, scrutinize, and intrude upon us, and how we can deal with those folks in a mature and effective way. Thanks again for your support and patronage. We here at Chef Bry Comedy are trying to not only do a helpful and meaningful show for good folks, but we're also building a brand for my comedy, voice work, writing, and albums. At the end of the day, it's difficult for us to put ourselves out there like this, but we do it because we want to build a life and community of people who can be there for one another and find solutions to life's most grueling problems. Thanks so much for being a part of our little empath tribe. Empath or not, I think you guys will appreciate what we're trying to do here. It's all about empowering one another and fighting against regressive mentalities that break down the social fabric of society. To fight against regressive and oppressive people and systems which are trying to exploit, assault, insult, and harm us and our sensibilities. It's about being able to express your more sensitive side, while also building an inner strength that can endure the hardships and rigors of the real world as it really is, and try to build a world that humans truly deserve. Turning Your Sour Grapes into a Fine Wine
On this episode I talk a little bit about how to turn all those negative feelings we get towards society, life, our job, politics, difficult people, negative self-talk about ourselves, jealousy, intolerance, etc., and transforming it into something more sustainable, meaningful, and positive that can endure, so we continue to grow as a person, and grow into ourselves and our wisdom and successes. That way we don't grow old and bitter, but we grow wiser, classier, more gracious, and grow into the kind of person we want to be. A Big Ol' Talk about Ghosts
On this Thanksgiving Day, we decided to dedicate this whole episode to the ghost phenomenon. What are they really, are they real, and what's with the fascination of it in pop culture popularity, and does it help or hurt the credibility of the paranormal as a field of study? We also talk a little bit about Skinwalker Ranch, and a video we watched trying to debunk it... unsuccessfully I might add! But first we talk a little about this show, and what drives our passion to talk about empaths, the paranormal, mental health, and real-life stuff? We explain what are motives and motivations are, who and what we care about and why. Happy thanksgiving you guys! Hope you had an amazing day!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Empathic Burnout and Empathy Overload, and Finding Your Kindness and Composure after a Series of Bad Life Situations
In this episode I talk about Empathic Burnout and Empathy Overload, and the differences and similarities between them. Empathic burnout being when an energetically sensitive person has reached their limit of compassion and kindness, and starts getting overwhelmed and triggered, changing their energy from good to bad. Empathy overload is when we care so much about another person or their problems that we start taking it on as our own. How do we manage our emotions when we just start to care too much for something that really doesn't directly involve us? In the past couple of weeks Rebecca and I have been reeling from just too much stuff, too much nonsense, and too many bad things and negative feelings of life feeling unkind, unwinnable, and insurmountable, as a result my topics have been a little bit more irreverent and "attitudinal" than usual. But I wanted you guys to see that even empaths get upset from time to time, and that it's perfectly natural to allow yourself to get upset, to feel anger and frustration, and to vent about these things, as it's all a part of the natural process of dealing with grief and turmoil. But we must eventually turn things back around to arrive back in a good place energetically and emotionally once again. I'm not ashamed to show you guys when I'm feeling sadness, anxiety, frustration, impatience, or despair. Social pressure tries to force us to want to bottle all these things up, as to not cause a scene or have people judge us. But at the end of the day, it's much better to process these things head on, in a direct and candid way, than to let these things build up over time, turning you into a pressure cooker that's about to explode. I want you guys to know and see that I haven't lost my good nature, my kindness, my gentle heart, or my empathic sensibilities, but there will always be times when we get downright tired people and things, and are forced to take a stand. But eventually, once we've processed our anger, fear, frustration, and grief, we must compose ourself to arrive back in a place of balance, to recapture our joy and happiness, and get back to our usual kind and giving self. To recapture our energy of empowerment, joy, and calm.We can all go through these "negative" emotions, but we should never allow social pressure to feel guilt or shame about that, assuming we didn't hurt anyone. But afterwards, we must start the healing process, to get back to our kindness and compassion, before it callouses our heart for good. It's one thing to toughen up, it's quite another to become a lesser version of ourself, to let that big bad world our there change us and damage us to the point we lose something integral about ourselves. To become mean spirited and empty inside, all to protect our guarded and wounded heart. We must not lose ourselves just because the worlds is sometimes harsh and unkind. We must find ways to process our emotions, then allowing those emotions to inform our decision making, so that we can continue improving, to live an emotionally healthier life. To continue moving forward rather than get stuck or risk moving backwards and regressing, making our life less empowered and balanced. A Show about Nothing... Well, Sorta.
On this episode I use the old sitcom Seinfeld, "a show about nothing," to make the comparison between that show and how I was raised. First, this episode being kinda "about nothing," in that, we just wanted this episode to be about all our problems and grievances, in order to keep this episode organic and unrehearsed. But I also compare the old Seinfeld sitcom to how I was raised, in that, the main characters were notoriously known for talking about people in private without their knowledge, and how that was considered "a bad thing" in retrospect. But was it? I compare the show to how when I was a child, my mom and her best friend would talk about the absurd people they would meet and see while out on the town on a Friday night. The point being, there's a discernable difference between talking behind someone's back to be mean or cruel, and simply talking to make light or get things off our chest. This episode then takes an unexpected but revealing turn when Rebecca gets upset while we're recording, and I had to stop the show to attend to her. Afterwards, we return to the show to get people to see that we're all just real regular people dealing with real life problems, that having a podcast and being a public figure doesn't make us immune to the rigors of the world's hardships, dysfunctions, and inherent unfairness out there. The through line and point of this episode being that we all struggle, and that at some point, just because we try to be above the influence, we're all susceptible of being hurt and discouraged by that big bad world out there. We often play it off and put on a brave face, but at the end of the day, we all want to be valued for who we are, validated for the good people we're trying to be, and appreciated for our hard work and efforts. That when all is said and done, there is little difference between us all as people, other than the way we choose to give up or try harder, the ways in which we choose to react and how we choose to deal with life's universal hardships and difficulties. At what point is our hurt and pain our own fault or the fault of the world, and where do we draw the line in blaming our problems on some external tormentor and placing the blame, at least in part, on ourselves for not trying to heal and get better?Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. Searching for Greater Clarity, Purpose, and Meaning in Very Busy and Uncompromising Times
In this episode I slow it all down and tell you a little bit about myself and my upbringing in order to sort of deconstruct my life and childhood to arrive at who and where I am today. All of this is sort of a therapeutic exercise to find out about what shapes us in order to find a greater understanding of ourselves in order to then find greater clarity, purpose, value, and meaning out of this life we're given. This world can be a mighty big and daunting place. Sometimes I find it helps to go back to the beginning, to inspect our lives from its start to present, to assess the past both historically and personally in order to find out truly who we really are, what we want out of life and why, and how to make the best out of our life in the here and now. Rebecca and I talk about everything empath, from dealing with the real world to how to deal with mental health upkeep as highly sensitive people, to how to put up with hardship and harshness out there. We'll talk about blocking and filtering, the benefits of ritual and ceremony, and then, borrowed from an article by acclaimed Doctor and self-acclaimed empath and author Judith Orloff, MD, 5 protection strategies for empaths. It's always a light and fun show when my wife and cohost can be here to join us! Empowering Yourself as an Empath / Highly Sensitive Person, Finding Strength and Letting Go of Mental Baggage when Forced to Stand up to People in a Sometimes Pushy and Unfeeling World
I've been feeling just a little bit "sigh, meh" for the past couple of days, so I thought it was a great time to just talk with you guys about those times when I have to turn from a gentle old soul and empath to a fighter and sometimes straight up asshole when you're forced to get real with unsavory folks who aren't so respectful of us or right to exist. I'll tell you some of the tricks and tips I've learned when dealing with mean, rude, arrogant, or unfeeling people out there. You know, those "society people" we have to associate with, but have nothing in common with and have no real desire to associate with, but have no choice but to deal with?! This episode is an off the cuff straight talk pep talk, where I explain what empaths have to go through, the emotional baggage after an uncomfortable encounter, how the world out there sometimes makes us feel, and what we must do sometimes when life forces us to deal with not so nice people out there. Sometimes life forces us out of our comfort zone, and to behave in ways we don't desire to be. Where we have to "go there" in ways we don't like, and find our "inner gangsta" when forced to drop our usual kind demeanor and gentle sensibilities and to "get real" in order to protect ourselves from hurtful and insensitive types of people. It doesn't happen a lot, but every now and then you have to set the record straight and get some people to understand that you aren't their doormat. All in the day in the life of a civilization that's sometimes losing its kindness, joy, and fun loving nature.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. Ghosts in Real Life vs TV and Movies, Our Favorite Kinds of Horror Movies, Ed and Lorraine Warren, Skepticism vs Cynicism, and What TV and the Movies Got Right and Wrong
In this "hot cocoa and binkie" episode, Rebecca and I discuss our favorite kinds of horror and what we like in those subgenres. Then, we'll discuss the paranormal phenomenon in real life vs the movies and television, from Ghostbusters and The Conjuring movies, to our guilty pleasure in ghost hunting shows on TV, and whether or not we're getting an accurate read on the paranormal phenom, whether or not they're doing more harm than good, whether they're making people believe or disbeliever more or less, and what Hollywood and ghost shows are getting right and wrong. We'll talk about The Conjuring universe and the real life couple the franchise is based on, Ed and Lorraine Warren, renowned paranormal heroes of sorts in the field; their contribution to the field, and how they influenced how western culture sees the paranormal phenomenon. Then lastly, we'll talk about whether or not the paranormal in Hollywood and television pop culture is doing a service or disservice to the paranormal as a whole, skepticism vs cynicism, and what our take always are in general about growing up with ghosts and ghost stories in our public zeitgeist. You can listen to this podcast almost everywhere podcasts are streamed, and you may also come on by and say hi or continue the conversation with us personally @chefbrycomedy to get empath info and advice (we are not mental health professionals but empath and paranormal advocates who take our work seriously), and to find out more about the work we do in paranormal research, and as empaths and advocates for highly sensitive people. BONUS EPISODE! My Conversation with Comedian Keith Burr, Part 3.
I'm currently on hiatus until early November, but as I've been working on various projects, it's allowed me to network and meet with many of my fellow podcasters and comedians. One of the funniest comedians I've met thus far is Comedian Keith Burr from Kentucky. He self-describes himself as "well constructed trash," but I found him to be much more than that however. In this 3 part bonus episode, we talk about a variety of things, from our socio-political landscape and culture today, to the nature of being a public figure, and we even dig into our pasts a little bit and try to deconstruct how and why we became comedians. For any fans of the show, I thought this would be something fun to listen to, as we go into so much, revealing a lot about who we are as people and why we do what we do! Season 1 Wrap Up- Just a Little About What Went Right and Wrong and I Address Mini Topics That Didn't Make The Show
On this super long season 1 ender, I talk about what went right and wrong on the show, what I've learned, what season 2 will be all about, and I address our culture today and how people aren't listening to their conscience anymore, but rather allowing our culture and media at large to influence people, making them weapons for and against a particular cause. I end the show by addressing this divisive culture we've found ourselves in, and how to rise above the influence in order to take back our life and live more happily and robustly. The Mothman, Men in Black, Indrid Cold, UFO's, and their Possible Connections
In this episode Rebecca and I try to understand the Mothman phenomenon. During our research we uncovered connections between the infamous mothman sightings in Point Pleasant, West Virginia and the Silver Bridge Collapse of 1967, and also of sightings of UFO's, Men in Black, possible poltergeist activity, and Indrid Cold, known by researchers as "The Grinning Man." Once we discovered that there were not only sightings of a 7 to 9 foot tall "flying winged demon" creature with red glowing eyes, large black wings, with leathery dark skin and no neck, but also of other seemingly interrelated paranormal phenomenon going on simultaneously there as well. So we we began to see this odd relationship between the Mothman phenomenon and other popular "paranormal hotspots," such as with Skinwalker Ranch, and other known paranormal areas with high concentrations of paranormal phenomenon, and we can't wait to share with you guys our findings. There appears to be sightings of this cryptid/creature that goes on to this day, that surprised us just how recent these sightings actual are!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. Empaths vs Dark Empaths vs Sociopaths, The Dark Triad, and How to See The World and Yourself Correctly in These Complex Times
In this episode I explore the differences between an empath and a dark empath, and then between a dark empath and a sociopath. We'll talk about the psychological term "Dark Triad," and the implications of that. Finally, I'll try to make sense of it all, from the different schools of thought for and against the term "dark empath," and to figure out what and who we really are, in a world where sometimes we're maybe just a little bit more nuanced, just a little more complex, and just a little too sophisticated to simply be entirely one thing or the other. In complex times it may just require that we're a little bit of everything, depending on the world's demands, our own personal needs and selfcare, and the complexity of the situation in these highly sophisticated times. Big Ass Bigfoot Episode! (BABE)
In this fun episode Rebecca and I talk all about bigfoot, starting from the beginnings of the legend and bigfoot's climb to pop culture fame, to the scientific findings and best evidence, to the more magical and mystical side to the bigfoot belief and phenomenon. Then we leave you with our overall thoughts about what we believe is likely to be true, our thoughts on what the bigfoot/aliens/ufo connection is, and its connection to portals and vortexes and the rise in paranormal activity and how and why that's even a thing! I think I've mostly managed to tackle my audio gremlins now, but I continually learn new tricks to help give you guys the best listening experience possible. Also, there's a dangerous heatwave going on here in the Pacific Northwest, so if you hear any background noise I do apologize. I had to run fans and the air conditioner, but I think it sounds pretty good! Bigfoot has been a long loved myth, legend, and phenomenon that's to this day closely loved and held by many, including Native Americans and tribal people. In this episode I talk about what greatness is, as I've been watching the Olympic Games. I'm reminded of who my heroes are, and a special person I met at a very young age that helped shape my attitudes and world view. I got to thinking about how one can stop believing in themselves, as our cultural attitudes always pressure us to do what's practical, while oftentimes not always allowing us to dare to dream. I talk about what I think greatness is and what our priorities should be. Then I finish by explaining what I think prevents people from thinking bigger and bolder in attaining their freedom and "craziest" ambitions . What I'm Grateful For & What Keeps Me Happy & Feeling Content When I Start To Get Impatient or Down
In a previous episode I talk about having an attitude of gratitude. But sometimes life keeps just coming at ya, and over time, that can make you feel like you're drowning, making compromises and sacrifices that make you feel like you're no longer happy or in control of your life. This episode is just a long free form stream of consciousness about what gives me hope, what I'm grateful for, and what helps me endure when I get to the end of my rope and start feeling impatient, sour, or down. Headaches, Migraines, and Empaths Oh My! What Causes our Headaches & Migraines, What Gives us Relief, Why Hypersensitive People are More Susceptible, and Finding a Balance Between Holistic Therapies & Scientific Medicine.
This episode I talk to my wife about our chronic migraines and headaches and what helps, why empaths seem to suffer physical symptoms more often than most, and how we try to find a balance in our overall health and fitness through natural means and through medical science. Of course on this migraine day of all days, using a new operating system, for some odd reason when we recorded this we noticed a slight clicking and buzzing, and so we want to apologize for that. But because there's so much good information here, we didn't want it to go to waste. I will work to remedy this so upcoming episodes don't suffer the same audio distortion. Thanks for putting up with that. We here at Chef Bry Comedy work hard to put out not only high quality audio but also thoughtful and useful content, so I will work diligently to solve our audio issue right away! Empaths 101- The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Side of Being an Intuitive and Sensitive Person
In this episode my wife and cohost and I talk about what it's like and what it means to be an empath, what living with someone who's "sensitive" like yourself is like, and we'll break down what it's like living out there in the real world with real jobs and real people as someone who's energetically sensitive, for better and for worse. Also, we'll talk about empath's special connection to animals and the planet, the pros and cons of having a rich emotional life, and how that plays a factor in our overall mental and emotional health. Finally, we'll talk about how being more emotionally engaged makes us have a responsibility to each other, other empaths, and a responsibility to the planet as "guardians." We had so much fun recording this one, and we're trying so very hard to help and reach out to good, kind, and sensitive people and empaths out there who might be struggling in the real world. We're trying to find "our tribe" out there of like minded individuals who are either empaths, or who are simply coming to realize they might be more energetically sensitive than most, and whom also may have a similar sensitivity and duality like us of being kind in nature but with an inherent love and attraction to the "darker" side of life such as Halloween, horror movies, true crime, and the macabre, and how do we as empaths reconcile our love of the spookier side of life with our more gentle and kind sensibilities. You can get in on the conversation by finding us on our social media @chefbrycomedy on Instagram, Twitter, and now on Facebook @survivingempathypodcast. We'd love to meet, get to know you, and become a part of our empath tribe! You don't have to be an empath to be a part of us, just so long as you have a good nature and gentle side, you're one of us! We're a small but tight knit group who takes care of each other. Thanks so very much for listening and getting in on the fun! Get well soon Edris we love you!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Lucky 13!
This is my baker's dozen 13th episode! Here I talk about my desires and concerns for this podcast and what my mission is, my concerns about this world, and the survival and betterment of our species as a whole. I talk a little about where I want this podcast and movement to go, a little rant about "toxic positivity," and the general feeling of worry and uncertainty taking over much of our working lives and on the news, and "outrage media" as a whole. The REAL Truth about Being a Chef, the Ins and Outs of Culinary School, and Learning Cooking Through Embracing the Spirit of a Dish
In this episode I finally talk about my experience as a chef, what culinary school is like, the ins and outs of the biz, my culinary heroes, and how to cook by understanding and embracing the spirit of a dish, of a culture, or a particular ingredient. It was a long time coming, but I thought since I'm called Chef Bry Comedy, I had better spill the beans about what being a chef is like! Being "cool," Having an Attitude of Gratitude, Being a Better and Kinder Person, and Striving to be Incorruptible.
When you've lived long enough, your idea of what cool is changes with time. While we all want to be cool, relevant, and well liked, sometimes we have to sacrifice coolness for goodness. As a comedian, I've learned that if you want to be funny, you have to be able to sacrifice being cool for putting yourself out there and really just going for it. Rarely is a funny person considered both funny and cool simultaneously, because being cool is all about being stoic and stone cold, and being funny usually involves saying and doing things that aren't always very "cool." George Carlin had an old saying about being cool- "You ain't cool, you're just chilly, and chilly ain't never been cool." Meaning, that being cold isn't being cool, that there's a difference between being cool as a cucumber and simply being frigid, unemotional, uncaring, and apathetic. It took me many years of trying to be cool to realize that being my usual silly and dorky self IS cool! Here I will talk about what my mission of goodness and kindness is and why, some of my influences, and how getting older has freed me up to being my unapologetic self. Sure, you sacrifice being liked by more people, but at the end of the day you don't have to change for anyone, and you always attract the right people by being yourself, not to mention you enjoy your life a little bit more when you're not so worried all the time about being accepted by everybody.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. Ghosts, 12 Types of Ghosts, Phases of a Manifestation, Exploring the Paranormal on Youtube, and Why We Like Spooky Things
On this episode Rebecca and I explore the ghost phenomenon, where I talk about the 12 types of ghosts, exploring the paranormal on YouTube and various paranormal channels, and my theory on the different phases of a ghost manifestation; from orb to full bodied apparition. As well as why people in general, and why we in particular, get into the paranormal as a hobby. At the end I talk about spirituality, and I hit myself right in the feels thinking about my own battle with depression and suicidal ideation. If anyone is having trouble, I want you to know that you're not alone, and to please reach out to someone if you're having a difficult time. We all go through struggles, and it doesn't make you weak or crazy, it makes you human. Life is hard and we all need help from time to time, to fill our lives with something positive and meaningful, that helps us process our feelings and pain. This episode was loads of fun, and typifies my podcast tagline and life motto- to mix humor with heart. Please enjoy! Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. The 6 Types of Empaths, Energy & Intention, and How to Find Inner-Peace in Your Gift
On this episode I talk about the 6 types of being an empath, how to block and filter negative energy, the nature of energy and intention, and my thoughts on the 6 types of empaths, how they are similar, how they're different, and how to think about the phenomenon of being an empath as a whole.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chefbrycomedy) Hosted on Acast. Our Economy, The Gig Economy, Corporate Greed, Politicization of Socio-economics, and Possible Solutions
In this episode, fresh from being upset about this economy, and tired of too many people struggling out there, I explore what this economy is, what kind of economy it is we're living in, how jobs and the economy gets politicized to push a wealth agenda, and things we can do to feel empowered and find direction in an economy that doesn't naturally favor regular working people. Self-esteem, Self-confidence, People Pleasing, and Dancing Like Nobody's Watching
I get to the point where if I'm tired or in an uncertain mood, I start to feel weird and overexposed, and start feeling weird about myself being out there for everyone to hear, scrutinize, and criticize. There's a couple of things I do to allow myself to not become my own worst critic, and to not be just a people pleaser, even though in my heart of hearts I very much feel like I want to make everyone happy. Not everyone is going to like me or this podcast, and that's ok. I'm trying to reach and please as many people as possible, but that's simply impossible! With my special guest my wife Rebecca, who's dealt with shyness her entire life as a dancer, she'll help us figure out how to not care so much when we feel under pressure to please and be liked by everybody.
