Every pastor longs for a disciple who will carry on God's work in the pastor's absence. Paul charged Timothy to "teach no other doctrine, nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies..."  We need a realistic faith built of the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone. Continuity of the message is essential. A belief that gives sway to myths and fantasies is no faith at all.   (July 5, 2020)
