The world teaches that when a person dies, they immediately go to heaven or hell. Roman Catholicism offers a third option of purgatory of intermediary penance for unconfessed sin. None of these views is scripturally valid. The Bible teaches, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23). Death entered the world when Adam sinned, affecting every person born since. However, God's plan to save humankind provides hope through the resurrection of the dead.
