BB+ (Ep. 16) Deanna Kitchen on the Growing Kindness Project

from Botanical Brouhaha Podcast · host Amy McGee

TODAY'S GUEST: Deanna Kitchen TOPIC: Growing Kindness Project The Growing Kindness Project started when Deanna Kitchen, an aspiring flower farmer, accidentally planted more dahlias than she could market. Together with her family, she started delivering flowers throughout her community, sharing flowers at bus stops, doctors office's, and retirement homes. With every delivery, Deanna discovered that when they held out flowers, they held out a powerful catalyst for sharing kindness and fostering connection. Deanna began gifting dahlias to anyone who wanted to grow and share flowers in their own community and the Growing Kindness Project was born. Today, Deanna and her team have expanded the Growing Kindness project to support Ambassadors across the nation and Growing Kindness Gardeners around the world. And she'd love for you to be apart of the movement to spread kindness through flowers. The Growing Kindness Project mission is to empower, educate, and encourage individuals to cultivate kindness and connection in their communities by growing and giving flowers. How You Can Be Involved Whether you're an experienced gardener or have never grown a single plant, whether you're tending a pot of flowers on your city balcony or acres of blooms on a farm, the Growing Kindness Project can help you grow kindness in your community.
