Boston Bruins Skating and Skills Coach David Breen Talks Player Development, Elite Mentality, and The Importance of Continuously Improving

from Four Minutes with Fiona · host Fiona Hatton

Today, I talked with David Breen. Dave grew up in North Andover before playing college hockey at Merrimack and Trinity College. He has worked in coaching and video positions at Curry, Merrimack, Phillips Academy, and Bentley. Since 2014, Dave has worked as the program director of Micro Ice and oversees all aspects of programming and coaching. He also works in the Bruins organization as a skating and skills consultant. We got into his philosophy on player development, the mindset difference of elite players, and his advice to aspiring hockey coaches. Dave is so knowledgeable and has great insight into coaching and development. I loved hearing about his experiences, there is so much value to take away from this episode! Huge thank you to Dave for taking the time to talk! Hope you enjoy it!
