Disappointed BY God Disappointed WITH God Part One

When the waves of life crash over our hopes and plans, we can feel disappointed BY God and over time even become disappointed WITH God. This disappointment can lead to cynicism and doubt as we stand in judgment of God and His ways in our lives. A crisis in faith can occur because we think that all of life should support what we expect and what makes sense to us. This can be fatal to one's ability to believe Jesus. John helps us to see that If we don't work through our disappointment with God, then distrust of God grows in our heart. This distrust ultimately brings us to either wholly abandon our faith in God or to attempt to play a game of maintaining an outward perception of trust in God while we plot our own way to fulfillment.
