“No hay dudas de que Venezuela enfrenta al imperio, enfrenta al terrorismo, enfrenta la intervención en los mercados domésticos” pero “hay una memoria colectiva que no quiere volver al pasado a pesar de las dificultades de la actualidad”, dijo el sociólogo norteamericano, profesor James Petras en CX36 (*), al referirse a la situación venezolana de cara a las elecciones del 6 de diciembre. En ese marco, Petras condenó la actitud del secretario general de la OEA, Luis Almagro: “Washington ha gastado más de 50 millones de dólares en esta campaña” y “utiliza los instrumentos internacionales como la OEA, utilizando a Almagro como un caballo de Troya para fomentar a la oposición y desprestigiar al gobierno”, afirmó. Además dijo que “es una vergüenza para la tradición del Frente Amplio” la postura de Danilo Astori, Raúl Sendic y de la dirección del Frente Amplio.
