Ramadan 1437(2016): Patience & Gratitude Islamic Center of Palm Beach Lectures broadcasted at the Islamic Center of Palm Beach during Ramadan 1437 (2016) on the topic of Patience and Gratitude from a treatise written by the great scholar, Imam Ibnu Qayyim al-Jawziyyah. Excerpt from the translation:"The present text is an abridged translation of Ibn al-Qayyim’s famous work, ‘Uddat as-Sâbirîn wa Dhâkhirat ash-Shâkirîn (literally, The Equipment of the Patient and the Investment of the Grateful). This work deals with the closely-related topics of patience and gratitude. Although often translated as “patience”, the Arabic word sabr has a broader and deeper meaning than the English. Depending on the context, it may mean fortitude, patience, equanimity, forbearance, patient endurance, etc. Shukr may be translated as “gratitude” or "thankfulness". As is shown in the book, patience and gratitude are two sides of the same coin, closely-related attitudes which the Muslim should seek to foster in every aspect of his or her life."L Fortitude Radio Cody Ringle At Fortitude Strength, we help people gain wellness by developing strength and prioritizing fitness. Ignited Fortitude Bobby Valdez & Aaron Sharp At Ignited Fortitude we feel called to make disciples as Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:18-20, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you”. We know every person has been equipped with purpose. Throughout life we let the world and enemy wear us down and doubt ourselves allowing that fire inside us to dwindle or extinguish. The desire of Ignited Fortitude is to make disciples and equip the saints by igniting and continuing to stoke that fire through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are here to come along side you on the path which you have been called, so that we will be found standing firm in contending for the faith but never losing sight of our first Love, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Letters of Mrs. Adams, the Wife of John Adams, Vol. 1 by Abigail Adams (1744 - 1818) ciesse Abigail Adams lived the American Revolution as the wife of one of its central figures--John Adams. Her family correspondence, published along with a memoir by her grandson, Charles Francis Adams, brings that era into eloquent focus. It's all there in her private letters, letters that were never meant for public eyes, letters that she repeatedly asked to be burned!Writing to her husband, Abigail expressed anguish at nearby fighting: June 18, 1775, "Charlestown is laid in ashes . . . How many have fallen we know not. The constant roar of the cannon is so distressing, that we cannot eat, drink, or sleep." Yet, she displayed constant fortitude: August 5, 1777, "It
