This episode talks about how to get started at HCC. Here are the steps to be admitted and enrolled. 1. Please take the career assessment at: www.bit.ly/hcc_careercoach (Click "Sign Up" in the upper right hand corner before completing the assesment to save your results) 2. Apply for RDS at www.ncresidency.org ( This will dem you IN-State or OUT of State for tuition purposes, please make sure you write down your 10 digit RCN (Residency Certification Number) and the expiration date. Your RCN is needed to complete the CFNC application. 3. Apply for admissions at www.cfnc.org or select the (www.halifaxcc.edu) link on the checklist card. It will take you to the cfnc website to fill out the online application. 4. Apply for financial aid at www.fafsa.edu.gov ( If you are planning on receiving assistance with paying for your class, it should take 3-5 days for it to be received on our campus) If you decide that you will be paying out of pocket you do not have to go through this process. 5. Submit a copy of your signed social security card 6. Submit an official high school transcript or GED/HiSett diploma with scores and, if applicable, official college transcript(s) 7. RISE Testing (unless otherwise indicated) 8. Register for classes 9. Sign up for New Student Orientation For questions or more details call 252-536-7225.
