Mercoledì 28 febbraio, per la seconda volta è mancata la maggioranza al Comitato dei rappresentanti permanenti dell’Unione europea intorno alla Direttiva che avrebbe obbligato le imprese a vigilare nella catena dei propri fornitori, accertando il rispetto dei diritti umani e dell’ambiente. Malgrado un accordo a dicembre fra Parlamento e Consiglio europeo (gli Stati membri), la Germania ha cambiato opinione annunciando il voto contrario, mentre Finlandia, Austria e Italia hanno ventilato l’astensione. Se ne riparlerà dopo il voto. Abbiamo chiesto a un grande studioso della sostenibilità come Mario Calderini (Polimi), a un operatore storico delle finanza responsabile, come Massimo Giusti, e al leader del più grande movimento cooperativo, Simone Gamberini, presidente di Legacoop, di commentare questa nuova fase della politica continentale sulla responsabilità di impresa.
