Con motivo del Día de las Lenguas Maternas se realizó un foro en donde se discutió el sentido, la vitalidad y las políticas públicas en relación a las lenguas maternas. Los invitados a la mesa de discusión fueron por parte de México, Xilonen Luna etnomusicóloga con amplia trayectoria en la investigación de pueblos indígenas de noroeste de México y Genner Llanes Ortiz, investigador social maya yucateco. Por parte de Guatemala se contó la opinión de Ajbe Jimenez de la Academia de Lenguas Mayas de Guatemala y Salavador Pacax radialiasta en lengua tzutujil. Este foro que es parte de las actividades de la Red de Radios Mayas y fue una colaboración de la Red de Comunicadores Boca de Polen, la Federación Guatemalteca de Escuelas Radiofónicas (FGER) y la Asociación Latinoamericana de Educación Radiofónica (ALER).
