Introduction

from Particular Baptist Pedagogy: An Orthodox Catechism

12/07/2023Particular Baptist PedagogyIntroductory EpisodeIn this episode, I introduce myself and the podcast, giving listeners a brief explanation of its format. Here are a couple of items I didn’t cover in the episode itself. You’ll notice that I don’t have any buffer music in this episode. I believe I’ve heard it said, “Imperfect or not at all shall be our service here below.” Honestly, the lack of buffer music is a real disappointment to me. However, for the sake of getting something out I’ve elected to go ahead without finding music, editing it into the episodes etc. I do hope in the long term to be able to include music under every episode, but I’m not sure if or when I’ll be able to make that happen. Additionally, it might be worthwhile to note that I plan to include the supporting scripture references for each Q&A in the show notes for each episode. In the long term, I may also find a way to get audio versions of these passages into the feed as well. If you’d like something like that, be sure to let me know!An Orthodox Catechism was written by Hercules Collins in 1680 and is a revision of The Heidelberg Catechism, modified to reflect the views of Particular Baptists. The edition of An Orthodox Catechism that will be used for these recordings was edited by Michael A.G. Haykin and G. Stephen Weaver, Jr, published in 2014 by RBAP. Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
