James “Twiggy” McGee Returns! – GPYS 287

from 9to5 (dotcc) Podcast Network (Montreal)

The Montreal podcast that asks Montreal wrestler, improvisor and man-about-town James McGee: “What’s the craziest thing you’ve done to get out of a test/work/commitment?” That question asked by Kenny Streule and Cat Preston from Mainline Theatre’s Rocky Horror Show back in episode 286. We’ve had James McGee on the show before. We’ll have James McGee on the show again. When you find yourself at the crossroads of talk show host, wrestling promoter and improvisor you are just bound to wind up on this show repeatedly. That’s just how things go around here. I realized it has been about 3 years since we’ve had James on the show and that the last time was in 2020 and was what we now lovingly refer to as “peak pandemic” – man, time flies.  Let’s never do that again. You can find James – quite literally – all over town. You can find him in the ring (occasionally) at BATTLEWAR, on stage at Mile End Improv (among many other stages) and probably other places too. Oh – did we mention that none other than The Dark Order’s Evil Uno will be at BATTLEWAR this Sunday at Foufs? Well we mentioned it now. Enjoy the show! Lawrence Corber also produces some shows you may have heard of (you should probably check out the next Healthy Living show when you get a chance) and if you’re close with him you can call him Lully. The other way to call him “Lully” is to follow him on his socials. @Lully514 on Instagram. The post James “Twiggy” McGee Returns! – GPYS 287 appeared first on 9to5 (dot cc).

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
