Luca Argel nasceu no Rio de Janeiro, em 1988. Atualmente cantor e compositor de samba a viver em Portugal e cidadão português, começou por fazer o Curso Superior de Música no Rio de Janeiro e, ainda na faculdade, por dar aulas de música em ONG´s, escolas, ou lições particulares. Em 2012, estava a lecionar numa Escola Municipal do Rio de Janeiro e decidiu vir para Portugal fazer um mestrado em literatura, sem saber se o futuro voltaria a trazer-lhe a música de novo. Antes de chegar ao Porto, ainda lançou no Brasil o seu primeiro livro de poemas pela editora 7 Letras chamado "Esqueci de Fixar o Grafite". Haveria de publicar mais poesia, quer no Brasil, quer em Portugal. Já este ano saiu o seu quarto disco a solo em Portugal, e o primeiro de versões, ou covers. “Samba de Guerrilha” é um projeto musical e, simultaneamente, uma viagem narrativa pela história do Samba e dos primeiros sambistas, que é a história da luta da escravatura contra ditadura militar do Brasil, e uma homenagem aos protagonistas do combate ao racismo, à escravatura e às desigualdades no Brasil. Além de literatura e de música gosta de filmes baseados em banda desenhada, de histórias de super-heróis, de cemitérios “pela tranquilidade dos moradores”, de ambientes informais e de pijamas, "a invenção mais sublime da história da indumentária", fim de citação, pelo conforto que representam.
