Reims based imprint Partyfine is headed up French super talent Yuksek and was established in 2013. The label takes a hands-on approach with its releases recording, mixing, mastering, and distributing, all under one roof. Partyfine is not bound by genre and was designed to showcase Yuksek’s diverse musical palette. Next up on the label Jimena Angel makes a second appearance with the first single from her full-length album that is set to drop in the fall. Colombian artist, Jimena Angel, is a singer, producer, guitarist, and DJ from Bogotá with a talent for producing a very unique sound; a touch of Bullerengue and new Latin electronica coupled with a talent for writing catchy Colombian songs. Since 2007 Jimena has been developing her solo career releasing three albums, multiple singles and has been nominated for a Latin Grammy. With countless tours and festival appearances, she recently played a live performance atGlastonbury, Roskilde, Foreztival and Guts Presents Around Pura Vida. ‘Telepatia’ is a song about falling in love. That stage of romance where the obsessive fascination for each other goes deep, and the connection is so strong that there is a telepathic language between you. The music was inspired by the African ‘Highlife’ that Jimena so loves, but maybe because she’s Colombian, it went a little bit deeper to the side of Colombian Champeta and one or two other Colombian pop ingredients that are already present in her DNA. The original gets treated to a remix by Batida. Coming from the thriving Lisbon scene, Batida (Pedro Coquenão) sprinkles the frenetic Kuduro with infernal digital beats, and the rhythmic Semba de Luanda with electro rhythms.
