It takes stormy waters to build skilled sailors! God planned that Hannah would be the mother of Samuel, one of the most outstanding judges in Israel. Yet, she had to endure a process to prepare her for that honor without knowing God's will or purpose. Elkanah loved Hannah: "but the LORD had shut up her womb."(1 Samuel 1:4)  Every elect child of God faces trials and tribulations. Like Israel's ordeal in the wilderness, the journey develops our faith to trust God despite the circumstances we face. For that reason, we should never try to escape from adverse events but confront them, for by overcoming obstacles, we gain strength and perseverance. Figuratively speaking, everyone needs a Peninnah!
