The Songhees Walkway

I started walking to work at 7:15 this morning, aiming to arrive by 8:00, and decided to record my observations along the way. The route took me through Victoria’s familiar streets, past reversing trucks, preserved Victorian facades, and the Johnson Street Bridge, where I paused for photographs. I reflected on a missing senior, Chris Dubé, and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, while also noting how my heart rate has stabilized since recovering from bronchitis. As I passed landmarks like the dolphin statue and Spinnakers, I appreciated the peaceful morning soundscape of seagulls and helicopters. With my cadence steady and pace averaging 10:32 per kilometer, I concluded the recording after 23 minutes, confident I would arrive on time.
