People use the terms REALTOR® and Real Estate Agent interchangeably,  but they are not really the same thing. Although both must be licensed  to sell Real Estate, the main difference between them is that a REALTOR®  works under a Code of Ethics that makes his/hers real estate business  practices much more restrictive and confining to conduct. REALTORS are  proudly part of the National Association of REALTORS®, and have to pass a  test on Code of Ethics regularly. Don’t assume that you can’t buy a house just because your Credit Score is low or because you have no money saved for Down Payment. Nowadays it is NOT necessary to have 780 to 800 Credit Score to buy a house (560 could be good enough). The first step in buying a new home is to go to a Bank or a Loan Broker to get a Pre-approval letter NOT a Pre-qualification letter.  The pre-approval letter you will get after they verify your paperwork will tell you exactly how much you can buy based on your income, expenses and credit.  A Pre-qualification letter is only a guess based on what you said without verification.
