There are seven days of the week. Seven continents with seven seas. Seven colors of a rainbow. Seven major stars in the big dipper. Seven deadly sins and virtues. Seven notes in a major/minor scale. Seven chakras. Seven wonders of the ancient and natural world. Seven metals of antiquity.   In tarot, seven has a mixed reception. Melissa’s represents the sevens as conflict, and impatience. Today, the cardslingers discuss the Six of Wands. And, as tradition dictates, Melissa, Jaymi, and Hilary all have their favorites. RWS is all about celebration and successes. The image is a figure on a horse who has gone and done the thing. They have come back and are being celebrated for whatever it is they did. Jaymi chose two, of course, The Triple Goddess Tarot shows a mother and two kiddos being celebrated for growth. In reflection, Jaymi thinks this card could’ve been born out of her desire to have been celebrated for who she was. And now she’s able to celebrate her inner child. Hilary’s The Wild Unknown Tarot shows a more modern interpretation of leadership and victory, rising above energy that triumphs. It’s a more natural scene, without people. Freedom that success can bring. And Melissa’s Sacred Sisterhood Tarot shows a ballerina holding a laurel. Doing a pointe as a ballerina is like the epitome of their practice. This is the excitement, the top shape. Every job has a pinnacle, and we can all reach ours.   Finding the little things throughout our day will help us get through the hard times. Every achievement of a task well-completed is a step in the right direction to who you make. Explicit Warning: This episode deals with some non-traditional meanings of the Five of Swords. It is spicy and not safe for kids: much cussing and sexual references.    Ah, the Five of Swords, usually seen as a card of deceit and failed mediation. People who get this card are often seen as people caught in the middle of a conflict. Or needing mediation. It’s a bullying card we often associate with conflicts of interest.  We then amplify this meaning by sharing a few additional unique perspectives. Hilary’s Llewellyn Tarot shows a Welsh mythology portrayal, while Jaymi shows how the Tarot of the Holy Spectrum has a more modern interpretation. And, as usual, Melissa’s decks give the card’s meaning a more off-the-rails interpretation. However, as Melissa shows in her two card depictions, this card deals with fucking. In the Sassy Burrito deck, we see finger claws that are used in the kink community for pain/pleasure. While the Mystic Garbage tarot has bunnies literally fucking. And boy does one of those bunnies give off "mind your fucking business" vibes. “Am I going to be okay?” Getting a tarot reading is a personalized way to get to your baseline. Different divination modalities, like Oracle or Lenormand, can keep you baseline because you don’t manifest or read the information. As a reader, you can do a lot of pre-reading. Good grief, we’re at the three of Swords. We have a floating heart in the middle of a rainstorm on the image in the Smith Waite deck. It’s being pierced with three swords. It’s a bleak card of heartbreak and emotion; many of us hate seeing this card and giving the hard news to clients. Like The Tower card, this card is striking. Welcome back to the cards. Hilary, Lis, and Jaymi kick off the minors. We see the minors as the day-to-day nitty-gritty items of our lives. These cards are broken down into two aspects: the numbered cards and the court cards. There are four suits to the 56 cards. Each one has its association with an element that relates to one of the four elements: air (swords), fire (wands), cups (water), and earth (pentacles/discs/coins). We’re going to reveal the numbers as a whole. So you’ll get four episodes detailing the aces, the twos, etc., and then we’ll give a wrap-up. We’ll begin with the Ace of Wands starting next month! Homework: Separate your deck into majors and minors. Look at the minor arcana and see what comes up.
