This culminated in regular worship and charitable work for the homeless at London's famous St. Martin’s in the Fields church in Trafalgar Square, sometimes called “The Parish Church of England.” Having completed a business degree in 1980, he later embarked on a four-year study of Eastern Philosophy at London's School of Economic Science and spent two periods at the New Age spiritual community of Findhorn in the north of Scotland. At the same time, he was introduced to the cosmic teachings of The Aetherius Society, founded in London in 1955 by the Western Master of Yoga, Dr. George King. He became a member of The Aetherius Society in 1986 and, in 1990, moved permanently to the Society's American Headquarters in Los Angeles. In 1992, he became a personal assistant to Dr. King, remaining at his side until his passing in July 1997. He has been a director of The Aetherius Society since 2001. He ran a communication skill training company with his wife for 12 years. Following that, he was an online course tutor for five FE colleges. Brian has been an active member of the Weobley & District Local History Society for 20 years and ten years as chairman. He was an active Quaker for 12 years, including three years as an elder. During this time, he facilitated workshops in England and Wales. He is now an active member of Herefordshire Interfaith Group, for whom he facilitates workshops and leads group discussions. In 2009, Brian was diagnosed with kidney cancer, and his left kidney was removed. Since then, he has had various bits removed and, since 2015, has had metastatic cancer in my lungs. There are now tumours in his pancreas, and one was recently found in his humerus and removed. Throughout this period, Brian has maintained symptom-free health largely through exercise, meditative practices and diet. He intensified his regimen in 2022 after a short period of chemotherapy from which he withdrew because of its detrimental effect on his overall wellbeing, He has had support from nutritionists, an acupuncturist and, currently, from a kinesiologist.
