Boundaries (Part 1): Drawing A Line (But For Real This Time)

The subject of boundaries is so big, I had to split it into 3 parts. In Part 1, I break down what a boundary actually is, because most of us think we have them, but we don't. I talk about how healing forces you to start recognizing what you've been allowing, tolerating, and sometimes even inviting. And yeah... we love to expect respect from people while crossing their boundaries at the same time. That part.Creating distance between yourself and toxic behavior isn't dramatic... it's necessary. But first, you have to be honest about where you've been ignoring your own line.

    Trigger Happy: Trauma Isn't Trendy

"Triggered" isn't cute. It's not a vibe. And it's definitely not something we take lightly or hide behind. And I don't think associating everything that upsets people as a trigger. It's not helping anyone. In this episode, I'm getting honest about what triggers actually are, how they show up, and why turning them into a trend can keep us stuck instead of healing. I'll share my perspective on accountability, emotional reactions, and why we need to take this word back. This one might challenge you just a bit, but that's kind of the point.

Addiction: Disease or Choice? My Honest Take

Is addiction really a disease? In this episode, I break down the disease model of addiction and explain why it hurts us.From my own experience with substance use and mental health, I talk about the role of choice, trauma, and accountability. Sometimes labeling addiction as a lifelong disease can keep people stuck in unhealthy patterns of behavior. This isn't about judgment, it's about questioning what we've been taught and discussing how to take our power back.

  4. 8

From Street Drugs to CVS Runs

In this episode I make a confessionAnd a HUGE distinction that we don’t talk about between illicit drug addiction and prescription drugs.Let’s just keep it super real, if we’re using prescription meds to manage our mental health — are we still addicted? Do we just have a new dealer? The trade off is worth it in the beginning, but my meds aren’t helping me heal.

  5. 7

Get With The Program? Or Nah?

In this episode I dive into my first "Hot Take" but also talk about how our thinking can evolve. I challenge the efficacy of the AA/NA program and why it isn't for everyone...and why that's ok.I also acknowledge that it does have a lot of value. But also, it's great for free talk therapy! It works if you work it, but you have to want it.

  6. 6

Not All Addictions Are Created Equal

We talk about addiction like it's one thing. It's not.In this episode, I break down how different addictions actually present themselves. From opioids to stimulants to alcohol, gambling, and even behaviors people don't talk about enough.Because a heroin addiction does not look like a meth addiction. And neither of those look like gambling or drinking. They affect your brain differently. They serve different purposes. And they create completely different experiences. But at the end of the day - we all need to face what triggers us to use. Freedom is healing what makes us want to relapse in the first place.

It Is Never Just The Addiction

This episode isn't really about addiction. It's about what's still there after.I talk about mental health, dual diagnosis, and how stopping the behavior doesn't fix what lives underneath. Anxiety, depression, trauma...doesn't just disappear.I also share my experience with medication, withdrawal and what I have to still manage today. If you feel like you should be fine, but you're not... this one's for you.

  8. 4

    Spiraling? This One’s For Us

If you’ve ever gone down a mental spiral and felt like you couldn’t get out of it, this episode is for you. I talk about anxiety, negative self-talk, and what it actually takes to pull yourself out when you don’t rely on anyone else to do it for you. Your thoughts are not always the truth. Let’s reset.Pin this one to your favorites for days your brain tries to keep you down.

"You Don't Look Like An Addict"

What people think addicts should like like isn't reality. In this episode, I share a personal story about how quickly people jump to conclusions... and how hard it can be to not be defined by your past. Because addiction doesn't have one look... and healing doesn't either. I touch on what identity means after addiction, what assumptions people make, and what it actually looks like to move forward without carrying that label forever. I empower you to define yourself on your terms.

    The Cycle Stops With Us

We were shaped by what we saw… and what we didn’t.This episode breaks down how our parents influenced us, the patterns we carry into adulthood, and what it looks like to parent while trying to do it differently. No blame. Just awareness.Because cycles don’t break on accident… they break on purpose.

Now What? (Life After Getting Clean)

In this episode, I talk about what life has actually been like after getting clean.I share what it feels like when everything looks better on the outside, but internally you still feel behind. The pressure to figure life out, build something stable, and learn how to function after years of just surviving.I also open up about mental health after addiction, including anxiety, overthinking, and learning how to feel things instead of avoiding them. This episode focuses on what comes after stopping — not the decision to quit, but learning how to live after that.

How I Got Here (Part 2: After I Found My Purpose)

In this episode, I share the second part of my story and what happened after I found my purpose.I talk about what it looked like to try to change while still being in the same environments, including navigating CPS involvement, going through treatment, and experiencing relapse along the way.I also share what led me to make a different decision and what it actually looked like to stop. For a long time, I thought making the decision would be the hardest part. What I didn’t realize was how much would come after. This episode focuses on the turning point — not the full outcome. In the next episode, I’ll talk more about what life looked like after and what it means to actually move forward.

How I Got Here (Part 1: Before I Found My Purpose)

In this episode, I share the first part of my story and what life looked like before I found my purpose.I talk about how my addiction started at a young age, the environments I was in, and how those patterns developed over time. This includes early exposure, becoming fully addicted, and living a double life while still trying to function. For a long time, I didn’t feel like I had a reason to change. I was living day by day without direction, which made it easy to stay stuck in the same cycles. This episode focuses on the buildup — not the recovery. In the next episode, I’ll share what changed and what led me to start making different decisions.

What Is an Addictive Personality? (And Why It’s Not What You Think)

In this first episode, I introduce the idea behind Addictive Personalities and challenge the way we typically think about addiction. I talk about how addiction goes beyond substances and is often rooted in patterns, coping, and trauma. I also share my perspective from lived experience and what you can expect from future episodes as we explore addiction, recovery, and healing in a more honest way.
