#26 The 4 Tenants of the Secular Worldview
Send us a textIn this conversation, I discuss the challenges posed by secularism to Christianity, focusing on the four tenets of the secular worldview as outlined by Natasha Crain in her book 'Faithfully Different.' I explore how these tenets—feelings as the ultimate guide, happiness as the ultimate goal, judging as the ultimate sin, and God as the ultimate guess—lead to confusion and chaos in society. I emphasize the importance of adhering to biblical truths and encourage listeners to remain steadfast in their faith amidst a turbulent cultural landscape.TakeawaysSecularism often mocks Christianity, which is the only true religion. The four tenets of secularism are feelings, happiness, judgment, and guessing God.Feelings can be misleading and changeable, leading to confusion.Chasing happiness can result in disappointment and loss.Christianity offers joy rooted in Christ, not based on circumstances.Judging is not inherently wrong; it's about the standard used. Objective morality points to a moral lawgiver, God.The secular worldview promotes spiritual ambiguity and personal truth.Christianity provides a clear purpose and truth in life.We must be aware of secular influences and remain grounded in faith.'Faithfully Different: Regaining Biblical Clarity in a Secular Culture': https://natashacrain.com/faithfully-different/ Podcast YouTube: www.youtube.com/@CarryYourCrossStudios Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pespinoza.cyc?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr Podcast Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pespinoza.cyc?_t=ZT-90h92JzOlS3&_r=1 Podcast X: https://x.com/pespinoza_cyc?s=21&t=vzzEhA-487cZL4Idn_YHAQ

This conversation delves into the nature of Jesus' divinity, the ideologies of the Black Hebrew Israelites, and the importance of recognizing false prophets. I explore the implications of this bill, the arguments for and against it, and the broader cultural context surrounding the revival of Christian values among young people. I emphasize the importance of moral principles in education and critique the double standards in cultural acceptance of opposing ideologies.Takeaways:Texas Senate Bill 10 mandates the display of the Ten Commandments in public schools.Supporters argue that the Ten Commandments are foundational to American legal and educational systems.Opponents claim the bill infringes on religious freedom and violates the separation of church and state. The revival of Christianity is being led by young people, which may ensure its longevity.Displaying the Ten Commandments can serve as a conversation starter and educational moment.Christianity is described as a relationship rather than a religion of rules or posters. The Ten Commandments are seen as timeless ethical principles that can guide moral behavior. There is a cultural confusion regarding right and wrong in society today.Acknowledging the historical influence of the Ten Commandments is not the same as endorsing a religion. The discussion raises questions about cultural double standards regarding religious symbols in schools.https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/texas-ten-commandments-school-bill-2025/ Podcast YouTube: www.youtube.com/@CarryYourCrossStudios Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pespinoza.cyc?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr Podcast Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pespinoza.cyc?_t=ZT-90h92JzOlS3&_r=1 Podcast X: https://x.com/pespinoza_cyc?s=21&t=vzzEhA-487cZL4Idn_YHAQ

#23 Superman and the Spiritual Battle for Masculinity
Send us a textIn this episode, I critique the 2025 version of Superman directed by James Gunn, focusing on the portrayal of masculinity and the cultural implications of the film. I argue that the character of Superman has been diminished, reflecting a broader agenda in Hollywood to undermine traditional masculinity. I draw parallels between Superman's character and biblical themes, emphasizing the importance of strong male figures in society and the spiritual battle against cultural narratives that seek to redefine manhood.TakeawaysSuperman's character in the new film lacks traditional strength.Hollywood is diminishing traditional masculinity in storytelling. The portrayal of Superman reflects a cultural agenda.Superman symbolizes truth, justice, and American values. The film undermines the moral foundation of Superman's character.Cultural narratives are attacking the roots of masculinity.Men today are portrayed as passive and confused in media. The relationship dynamics in the film lack traditional gender roles.Hollywood's agenda distorts both masculinity and femininity. There is hope for reclaiming Godly masculinity through faith. Send us a textIn this episode, I explore the contentious question of whether Jewish people are still considered God's chosen ones. I present both affirmative and critical perspectives on the concept of chosenness, delving into theological, historical, and ethical dimensions. The discussion culminates in my stance, as I reflect on the implications of rejecting Jesus as the Messiah.TakeawaysThe concept of chosenness is deeply rooted in Jewish theology.Chosenness emphasizes responsibility and moral obligation rather than privilege.Covenantal theology highlights an eternal bond between God and the Jewish people.Historical resilience of the Jewish people is seen as a testament to divine faithfulness.Inclusivity in chosenness allows for converts to be fully part of the covenant.Critics argue that chosenness can be exclusionary and divisive. The idea of chosenness may need to evolve in a pluralistic world.Moral behavior is prioritized over inherited status in prophetic tradition. The rejection of Jesus as the Messiah raises questions about the continuation of chosenness.Rethinking chosenness involves recognizing a shared calling among all people. #17 The Clash of Miracles: Science vs. Faith
Send us a textIn this episode, I explore the relationship between science and faith, particularly focusing on the Big Bang theory and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I argue that both science and religion ask for belief in miracles, and I challenge listeners to consider the implications of fine-tuning in the universe as evidence of a creator. The discussion emphasizes the historical claims of the resurrection and the rationality of believing in a personal God who intervenes in history.TakeawaysJoe Rogan's journey from atheism to belief in Jesus.Science asks for one miracle: the Big Bang. The resurrection of Jesus is a historical event.Fine-tuning of the universe suggests intentional design. The universe's constants are precisely balanced for life.No one dies for a lie; the resurrection is credible.Belief in one miracle makes belief in another plausible.Science and faith may not be enemies after all.Creation points to the existence of a Creator.Truth should guide our beliefs and actions.Joe Rogan clip from episode #2317 of, 'The Joe Rogan Experience': https://youtu.be/3oZSxMidp7E?si=JnjB9EgIKDez26rC Podcast YouTube: www.youtube.com/@CarryYourCrossStudios Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pespinoza.cyc?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr Podcast Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pespinoza.cyc?_t=ZT-90h92JzOlS3&_r=1 Podcast X: https://x.com/pespinoza_cyc?s=21&t=vzzEhA-487cZL4Idn_YHAQ

#16 Unmasking New Age Spirituality
Send us a textIn this conversation, I delve into the deceptive nature of New Age spirituality and its philosophical counterpart, New Thought. I discuss how these belief systems infiltrate culture and even the church, promoting self-empowerment and denying the need for redemption. I emphasize the importance of biblical truth in countering these teachings and highlight the dangers of replacing God with self. I conclude by affirming the true gospel of Jesus Christ as the only source of real hope and redemption.TakeawaysNew Age spirituality promotes self-worship and denies the need for a savior.New Thought teaches that thoughts can control reality and heal the body. These movements offer false hope and burden individuals with unrealistic expectations.Scripture directly confronts New Age and New Thought teachings. The heart is not the ultimate authority; God is.We are not divine; we are dependent on God.Suffering is not a sign of spiritual failure but can deepen faith.Redemption requires repentance, not manifestation.New Age teachings infiltrate the church, masquerading as motivational talks. The true gospel is about receiving new life through Jesus, not self-empowerment.Happy Lies by Melissa Dougherty: https://www.amazon.com/Happy-Lies-Movement-Probably-Self-Obsessed/dp/0310368863/ref=sr_1_1?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-osfcqb5o5jXRXFIBrqm1JHPwCk8dsk2K1PmeEn5kX3-icnNbMs6vZeTfXwBgu2_6A9hOfzXnNPQvAE6FS0jImUQgeW_gmjz7apCMHLCyearG9xF2nF3-VQbILJEw6bdujgoIawCW_7-rNu0WvX56WbnXP01G1_AwQAqhyNS0ZguRvG1V4dPko2njujuKtdf90tI9L238V-moDJMlY5T2h9kxG_CWQsS_MJ77dX9Vg0.F75434r1Cfv7TH5iCwzNO05kEHvaRfZL7SBsTXAwwuY&dib_tag=se&keywords=Happy+Lies&qid=1746985417&sr=8-1 Podcast YouTube: www.youtube.com/@CarryYourCrossStudios Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pespinoza.cyc?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr Podcast Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pespinoza.cyc?_t=ZT-90h92JzOlS3&_r=1 Podcast X: https://x.com/pespinoza_cyc?s=21&t=vzzEhA-487cZL4Idn_YHAQ

#14 Exploring the Dark Themes of, 'Sinners'
Send us a textIn this review of the film 'Sinners', I explore the themes of temptation, lust, spiritual warfare, and redemption through a biblical lens. I discuss the film's portrayal of vampires as metaphors for demons, the dangers of succumbing to temptation, and the false promises of power and salvation. I emphasize the importance of discernment when engaging with art that may contradict Christian values, urging viewers to test the spirits behind the narratives presented. The film 'Sinners' presents a secular worldview with subtle jabs at Christianity.Temptation is a central theme, embodied by the character Sammy and his music.Stack's downfall illustrates the dangers of lust and spiritual compromise.Hoodoo and spiritualism are depicted as morally neutral forces in the film.Redemption in 'Sinners' is portrayed as self-made, lacking true repentance.Vampires in the film serve as metaphors for demonic influences. The fear of light symbolizes the exposure of evil and truth. The film offers a counterfeit gospel of salvation through blood, not Christ.Discernment is crucial when engaging with art that challenges Christian beliefs.Even beautiful art can summon darkness if not grounded in truth. #13 The Antichrist: End Time Prophecy
Send us a textIn this conversation I delve into the controversial figure of Abdullah Hashem, exploring his claims of being a messianic figure and the implications of his teachings. This discussion highlights the intersection of Islamic prophecy, particularly the concept of the Mahdi, and the warnings from scripture regarding false prophets and deception in the end times. I encourage listeners to critically examine these claims and remain steadfast in their faith.TakeawaysAbdullah Hashem is a controversial figure claiming to be a messianic leader. His background includes a mix of Egyptian and American heritage.Hashem's teachings draw from both Islamic and Biblical texts. The Mahdi is a significant figure in Islamic eschatology, expected to bring justice.Hashem's documentaries focus on exposing the Antichrist as a system of deception.Scripture warns of false prophets and the Antichrist's presence in the world. Many view Hashem as a passionate voice against oppression rather than a prophet. The conversation emphasizes the importance of testing everything against scripture.Listeners are urged to hold fast to their faith amidst deception. The discussion raises questions about the nature of prophecy and its relevance today. #12 Stop Saying "God Told Me"
Send us a textIn this episode, I discuss the implications of claiming divine communication, particularly the phrase 'God told me.' I emphasize the importance of using language that reflects personal conviction rather than asserting divine authority. The conversation explores the risks associated with misusing such claims, the consequences of spiritual abuse, and offers alternative ways to express one's faith. I also provide insights on discerning God's voice through scripture, peace, wise counsel, and the fruits of the Spirit, ultimately encouraging listeners to approach their faith with humility and discernment.God does speak, but we must be careful with our language.Saying 'God told me' can be manipulative and risky. There are real-world consequences to claiming divine messages. We should express our feelings of guidance without claiming infallibility.Trusting in God involves submission, not just hearing a voice.Discerning God's voice requires checking against scripture and community advice.Peace is a sign of God's guidance, not the absence of fear.Using spiritual language can lead to misunderstandings and doubts.Faith is about being faithful, not just sounding spiritual. We need to focus on how God communicates through various means.
