From Fear to FAITH // Death, Defeated (Part 5) // Pastor Drew
🙌🏻 "Fear is a prison that will restrict, paralyze, and freeze you in a tiny box you were never created to live in. But the resurrection of Jesus reveals that fear is a lie. Faith in Jesus is the only foundation that is truly firm." — Pastor Drew What would you do if you were guaranteed invincibility for one year? We often imagine a life without physical limits, but Jesus offers us something even more powerful: a life without fear. In the final week of our Death Defeated series, Pastor Drew looks at the story of "Doubting Thomas". Most of us know Thomas for his doubt, but his struggle was actually rooted in something we all face: fear and pain. Whether it’s an "anxious generation" overwhelmed by the world or personal fears about our future, we often live with a "locked doors" faith. Today, we see how Jesus steps into those locked rooms, brings His peace, and moves us from trembling doubt to a personal declaration of "My Lord and my God". ------------------------------------------------ 📖 Scripture References: John 20 : 24-28 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/JHN.20.24-28.ESV John 11 : 14-16 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/JHN.11.14-16.ESV 1 John 4 : 18 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/1JN.4.18.ESV Matthew 10 : 28 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/MAT.10.28.ESV ------------------------------------------------ 00:00 - The Invincibility Question: Living Without Fear 02:45 - Series Recap: Moving from Death to Life 04:50 - From Fear to Faith: Today's Topic 06:24 - Re-examining Thomas: Was He Really Just a "Doubter"? 11:23 - The Root of the Problem: Why the Disciples Were Afraid 15:35 - Fear is Not a Sin, But it is a Signal 17:29 - The Anxious Generation: Why We Feel So Overwhelmed 19:21 - Shalom: Jesus Steps Into the Locked Room 22:11 - Motivation: Fearing Man vs. Fearing the Lord 27:45 - The Antidote to Doubt: Why Trust Matters More Than Evidence 32:14 - Death Defeated: Modern Stories of Fearless Hope 35:20 - Busting Down the Doors: A Faith the Gates of Hell Can’t Stop ------------------------------------------------ For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! Not DISQUALIFIED: How Jesus RESTORES You After Sin // Death, Defeated (Part 4) // Pastor Drew
🔥 "God isn't like a referee waiting to throw a red card at your mistakes. He’s a Father who pursued Peter even after he messed up, and He’s pursuing you today. Your past doesn't disqualify you—it actually sets the stage for your greatest testimony." — Pastor Drew Have you ever felt like you’ve been "red-carded" by life? Maybe you feel like you’ve made one too many mistakes or that your past has officially disqualified you from the whole "church thing." In this message, Pastor Drew shares some funny (and slightly embarrassing) stories from the soccer sidelines to show us how we often view God as a strict referee rather than a loving Father. We’re diving into the story of Peter—a man who failed publicly but was restored personally by Jesus. If you feel like you're stuck in a cycle of guilt or just trying to "clean yourself up" before coming to God, this message is a reminder that Jesus meets us right in the middle of our mess. It’s time to stop hiding and start heading home. -------------------------------------------------------- 📖 Bible References John 21 : 1-19 – Jesus restores Peter by the Sea of Galilee. https://www.bible.com/bible/59/JHN.21.1-19.ESV Romans 5 : 8 – While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. https://www.bible.com/bible/59/ROM.5.8.ESV Romans 6 : 1-14 – Dead to sin but alive in Christ. https://www.bible.com/bible/59/ROM.6.1-14.ESV -------------------------------------------------------- Sermon Chapters 00:00 - The Yellow Card: Lessons from the Soccer Sidelines 06:12 - 1,993 Years Later: Breaking the "Referee" Image of God 10:53 - The Truth About Sin: Why We Feel Disqualified 14:50 - Digging Deep: Why You Should Read Romans 5-8 19:15 - Peter’s Story: From Public Failure to Public Restoration 27:45 - Do You Love Me? DON’T Let Your Wounds WIN // Death, Defeated (Part 3) // Pastor Drew
🔥 "Jesus doesn’t look at your scars and see a reason to disqualify you; He sees a story of redemption. He kept His own scars after the resurrection to show us that our deepest hurts can actually become our greatest testimonies." — Pastor Drew We’ve all got them—scars that tell a story. Whether they are physical marks from a childhood bike wreck or deeper emotional wounds we’ve carried for years, it’s so easy to let those past hurts define who we are today. In this message, Pastor Drew looks at why Jesus chose to keep His scars even after He rose from the grave. We often think we have to be "perfect" or "healed up" before God can use us, but the Gospel shows us the opposite. Today, we’re talking about how to stop identifying with our wounds and start walking in the healing that only comes from the Savior. If you've ever felt like your past makes you "damaged goods," this one is for you. ------------------------------------------------ 📖 Scripture References John 20 : 19-29 – Jesus shows His hands and side to the disciples. https://www.bible.com/bible/59/JHN.20.19-29.ESV Psalm 147 : 3 – The promise that He binds up our wounds. https://www.bible.com/bible/59/PSA.147.3.ESV Isaiah 53 : 5 – Finding our peace through His sacrifice. https://www.bible.com/bible/59/ISA.53.5.ESV ------------------------------------------------ 00:00 - Every Scar has a Story: Lessons from a Paper Boy 06:12 - 1,993 Years Later: Why Jesus Kept His Scars 10:53 - Acknowledging the Pain: Your Hurt is Real 15:45 - The Healing Process: Don't Get Stuck in the Wound 25:40 - You are Not Your Diagnosis: Finding a New Identity 33:40 - Trading Your Mess for a Testimony 37:15 - Seeing God’s Power: A Story of Real Restoration 41:15 - Finding Freedom at the Foot of the Cross ------------------------------------------------ For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! MISSION in the MUNDANE // Death Defeated (Part 2) // Pastor Drew
🔥 "The church does not have a mission; God's mission has a church. Every aspect of your life—no matter how mundane—is a calling waiting to be reclaimed for His glory." — Pastor Drew Do you ever feel like you're living on autopilot? In this message, "Mission in the Mundane," Pastor Drew explores Jesus’ post-resurrection ministry to show us how to find purpose in the ordinary. By looking at the disciples' return to their fishing boats, we learn that God doesn’t just meet us in the miraculous; He meets us in our daily routines to transform our natural skills into divine assignments. Whether you’re at your job, at home, or with friends, your life is not a series of random events but a mission field. Join us as we discover three keys to a purpose-filled life: simple obedience, accepting the mission, and using what you already carry. ------------------------------------------- 📖 Scripture References: John 21 : 1-6 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/JHN.21.1-6.ESV Matthew 22 : 37-40 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/MAT.22.37-40.ESV Luke 5 : 4-11 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/LUK.5.4-11.ESV Mark 5 : 18-20 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/MRK.5.18-20.ESV ------------------------------------------- 00:00 - Living on Autopilot vs. Living on Assignment 06:12 - 1,993 Years Later: Finding Purpose in the Mundane 10:53 - Key #1: Simple Obedience (The Miracle of the Net) 19:05 - Key #2: Accepting the Mission in Your Workplace 25:50 - Key #3: Using the Natural Gifts You Already Carry 36:12 - The Love and Light Challenge: Reaching Your People 40:31 - Closing Prayer and Response ------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! ”The End” is NOT the END // Death, Defeated Series (part 1) // Pastor Drew
🙌🏻 "The tomb reveals to us that what we think is an end is actually just a doorway to God’s new beginnings. Your story isn't over, because His story wasn't over." — Pastor Drew In this powerful Resurrection Sunday service, Pastor Drew kicks off our new series, Death, Defeated. While the world often looks at our struggles, traumas, and mistakes as a final "case closed," the empty tomb tells a different story: The end is NOT the end. Pastor Drew explores the historical and logical reliability of the resurrection, reminding us that Jesus didn't just defeat death 2,000 years ago—He defeated the fear, sin, and shame that keep us trapped today. From the miraculous restoration of marriages to the radical transformation of the first disciples, we see that a perfect God is still moving in the lives of imperfect people. Join us as we celebrate the Risen King and learn why the resurrection demands a response that changes absolutely everything. ------------------------------------------------------- 📖 Scripture References 1 Corinthians 15 : 14-20 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/1CO.15.14-20.ESV Galatians 2 : 20 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/GAL.2.20.ESV Genesis 12 : 2 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/GEN.12.2.ESV James 4 : 8 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/JAS.4.8.ESV Genesis 50 : 20 – https://www.bible.com/bible/59/GEN.50.20.ESV ------------------------------------------------------- 06:12 - 1,993 Years Later: The Historical Evidence of AD 33 10:53 - Anthony Ray Hinton: When the Gavel Isn't the Final Word 13:16 - Joseph, Paul, and Shadrach: Proof God is Just Getting Started 19:42 - Why the Resurrection Changes Everything (The Tim Keller Perspective) 24:40 - Is the Resurrection Trustworthy? My Cup OVERFLOWS // Good Shepherd Series (part 5) // Pastor Morgan
🔥 "God can be good and life be hard. There is not a single thing that happens to us that is not somehow touched by His goodness and faithfulness—even the interruptions, the heartaches, and the valleys." - Pastor Morgan In the powerful conclusion of our Good Shepherd series, Pastor Morgan dives into the final verses of Psalm 23 to discover what it means to live a life that truly overflows. While many of us walk through seasons carrying the "oil of sadness," Pastor Morgan reminds us that the Good Shepherd anoints our heads with the oil of joy—a joy that isn't dependent on our circumstances, but on His character. Drawing from her own journey through seasons of anxiety, Pastor Morgan explores the vital necessity of "staying near the Cup Filler." If you feel dry, distant, or overlooked, this message is a powerful reminder that God’s goodness and mercy aren't just following you—they are chasing you down. How to FOLLOW God's Leading: The Rod & Staff // Good Shepherd Series (Part 4) // Pastor Drew
🙌🏻 "The Shepherd doesn’t use the rod to enslave the sheep; He uses it to free them. His discipline is not a sign of His anger, but a proof of His presence and a guarantee of His protection." In Part 4 of our Good Shepherd series, Pastor Drew tackles a phrase that often makes us uncomfortable: "Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." How can a rod used for discipline be a source of comfort? By examining the traditional tools of a Middle Eastern shepherd, we discover the profound difference between God's gentle guidance (the Staff) and His protective discipline (the Rod). We often flee from correction, but for a sheep in the wilderness, an inactive shepherd is a dangerous shepherd. This message explores how to discern God’s leading in your life, why the "hard path" is often the one that leads to the lushest pastures, and how to avoid becoming a "cast sheep"—stuck in your own comfort and unable to move. If you feel like you are in a valley of transition or conviction, this word will help you recognize the Shepherd’s voice amidst the noise. -------------------------------------------- 🐑 The Shepherd’s Tools: A Breakdown 1️⃣ The Staff (Guidance): The long stick with a crook used for gentle touches, points of contact, and looping around the neck to guide sheep away from subtle dangers. It represents God's whispers and gentle course correction. 2️⃣ The Rod (Protection & Discipline): The shorter, heavier tool kept at the hip for urgent matters—driving off predators or correcting a rebellious sheep that is heading for a cliff. It represents God’s firm conviction and his defense of the flock. 3️⃣ The Sling (Destruction of the Enemy): A tool used exclusively for the wolves and bears, never on the sheep. This reminds us that God fights for us, even when He is disciplining us. -------------------------------------------- 📖 Scripture References Psalm 23 : 3-4 - https://www.bible.com/bible/59/PSA.23.3-4.ESV Proverbs 3: 11-12 - https://www.bible.com/bible/59/PRO.3.11-12.ESV Proverbs 22 : 15 - https://www.bible.com/bible/59/PRO.22.15.ESV Hebrews 12 : 11 - https://www.bible.com/bible/59/HEB.12.11.ESV John 10 : 27 - https://www.bible.com/bible/59/JHN.10.27.ESV Psalm 139 : 23 - 24 - https://www.bible.com/bible/59/PSA.139.23-24.ESV -------------------------------------------- 00:00 - Love Into the Light: The Easter Challenge 05:53 - Scripture Reading: Psalm 23 07:40 - The Rod & The Staff: How God Leads Us 10:44 - The Shepherd’s Staff: Gentle Guidance & Connection 15:10 - The Shepherd’s Rod: Discipline & Protection 19:30 - The Sling: Destruction of the Enemy 25:20 - 3 Questions to Discern God’s Leading 39:40 - There is Freedom in His Rod & Staff ------------------------------------ For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! THROUGH the Valley // Good Shepherd Series (Part 3) // Pastor Drew
🔥 "Hard times don't mean God's absence; they unlock His presence. Some of the closest times I’ve ever felt with the Lord weren't in the pinnacle moments—they were in the pits." Why does a "Good Shepherd" lead His sheep into dark valleys? In Part 3 of our Good Shepherd series, Pastor Drew explores the hardest verses of Psalm 23. We often think following Jesus means a life of only green pastures, but the "Shepherd King" David knew that the path to the mountaintop always requires walking through the ravine. In this message, we learn how God’s presence provides freedom from fear, divine strength for the journey, and a supernatural peace that allows us to "dine" even while surrounded by enemies. If you are in a "dark night of the soul," this message is a reminder that the valley is a pathway, not a destination. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 📖 Bible References Psalm 23 : 4-5 https://www.bible.com/bible/59/PSA.23.4-5.ESV Hebrews 13 : 15 https://www.bible.com/bible/59/HEB.13.15.ESV Psalm 34 : 18 https://www.bible.com/bible/59/PSA.34.18.ESV Romans 8 : 28 https://www.bible.com/bible/59/ROM.8.28.ESV Psalm 27 : 1 https://www.bible.com/bible/59/PSA.27.1.ESV ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:00 - Preparing for Easter: The "Love Into the Light" Challenge 06:10 - Reading the Word: Psalm 23 Memorization 12:30 - The "Chiasm" of Psalm 23: The Climactic Center 14:39 - #1: Freedom from Fear (The Presence of the Shepherd) 20:55 - #2: Strength through the Journey (Defining a "Valley Season") 25:20 - A Living Testimony: Dr. Bob’s Fight with Cancer 32:00 - #3: Peace and Joy (A Table in the Presence of Enemies) 34:53 - #4: Salvation: Why the Darkest Seasons Aren’t Forever ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! Green Pastures & Still Waters // Good Shepherd Series (Part 2) // Pastor Drew
🔥 "His ability to speak is greater than your inability to hear... I will make myself clear. Stay on your knees, seek Him, and pursue Him." — Pastor Drew In this second part of the "Good Shepherd" series, Pastor Drew dives deep into the promise of rest found in Psalm 23:2-3. He challenges the common "hustle culture" mentality, where our lives often feel more like a frantic checklist than a peaceful pasture. Pastor Drew explains that the "Green Pastures" and "Still Waters" aren't just scenic backdrops; they are intentional provisions from a Shepherd who knows exactly what we need to feel safe and satisfied. He shares a transparent (and funny) story about his own struggle with "packing anxiety" to show how easily we can lose our peace, and reminds us that true restoration only happens when we stop chasing "cheap versions" of fulfillment and settle into the presence of the One who is more than enough. ------------------------------------------------- 📖 Bible References Psalm 23:1-6 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PSA.23.1-6.NIV Philippians 4:11-13 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PHP.4.11-13.NIV John 10:14 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JHN.10.14.NIV Isaiah 55:1-2 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/ISA.55.1-2.NIV Revelation 7:15-17 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/REV.7.15-17.NIV ------------------------------------------------- [00:00] Introduction: The joy of sitting in God's presence [02:30] The "Goliath" of Packing: A lesson in how easily we lose our peace [08:30] Corporate Reading: Psalm 23:1-6 [10:20] "I Shall Not Want": Moving from lack to full contentment [16:25] The Provision of the Shepherd [25:50] Four Things a Sheep Needs to Lie Down: Fear, Pests, Hunger, and Tension [28:00] The Presence of the Shepherd [29:25] The Restoration of the Shepherd [32:00] The "Antithesis" of Psalm 23: When the clock is our dictator [37:00] Closing Prayer and Surrender ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! The LORD is my SHEPHERD // Good Shepherd Series (Part 1) // Pastor Drew
🌎 "The God who created the universe knows I exist is crazy to me, sees me even crazier, knows me, and actually cares and loves me more than I will ever love him." — Pastor Drew This week, Pastor Drew invites us into a new journey through the most famous psalm ever written: Psalm 23. More than just a comforting poem, this message gets real about our need for a guide in a world that often feels chaotic and lonely. Pastor Drew breaks down the "relational equivalent" of being a 🐑 sheep—not as an insult, but as an honest look at how much we need protection, direction, and a voice we can trust. He shows us that the all-powerful Creator isn't some distant "manager," but a Shepherd who gets His hands dirty to be with us, loves us in our messes, and offers us a place where we finally belong. ------------------------------------ [00:00:00] Introduction to Relational Equivalents [00:07:17] Series Launch: "Good Shepherd" (Psalm 23) [00:10:14] Corporate Reading of Psalm 23 [00:13:03] King David’s History with Shepherding [00:16:31] The Meaning of "Yahweh" (The Lord) [00:21:44] Three Roles: Protector, Master, and Comforter [00:23:29] The Nature of Sheep: Why we need a Shepherd [00:35:31] The Marking of the Sheep and the Bondservant Law [00:41:07] Call to Commitment and Altar Response ------------------------------------------------- 📖 Bible References Psalm 23:1-6 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PSA.23.1-6.NIV John 10:11 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JHN.10.11.NIV John 10:14-16 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JHN.10.14-16.NIV Deuteronomy 15:12-17 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/DEU.15.12-17.NIV John 14:16 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JHN.14.16.NIV ------------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! Love Into the LIGHT // Lean In 2026 // Pastor Drew
"The greatest gospel presentation you will ever be able to give is your own testimony." — Pastor Drew In this mission-focused message, Collective Church introduces the "Love Into the Light" challenge for 2026. The focus is on moving beyond personal habits and heart transformation to actively engaging in the "co-mission" with Jesus to reach the lost in Omaha and beyond. The message outlines a practical 40-day journey leading up to Easter, centered on three core actions for every believer: Identify Your "One" Every person is challenged to pick one individual who is "far from God but close to you"—someone you already have a relationship with in your daily life. Pray and Love Intentionally Commit to praying for your "One" daily and finding radical, practical ways to serve them without expecting anything in return. Share Your Testimony Rather than feeling pressured to give a complex theological presentation, believers are encouraged to simply be "witnesses". Your Story ISN'T OVER // Relationships (part 5) // Pastor Lee Martin
🙌🏻 "The only obstacle between you and life—the capital L life—is surrender." — Pastor Lee Martin In this powerful message from Collective Church, Pastor Lee Martin shares his deeply personal testimony of failure, wilderness, and ultimate redemption. Through his story of "shipwrecking" his life and ministry, he highlights how God specializes in taking dead things and making them alive again. Pastor Lee frames his journey around three pivotal statements that many find themselves asking in seasons of crisis: "How did I get here?" Lee describes the slow drift of small compromises that led to a double life and the near destruction of his marriage and ministry. He reminds us that even when life doesn't work out as hoped, our story is not over. "God, I can’t fix this." After losing his position and moving into a "wilderness" season for years, Lee realized that life’s hardest problems—shattered trust and broken families—cannot be solved by human effort or "looking within." "If you don’t rescue me, I am finished." On a mountain summit in Colorado, Lee reached a point of total surrender. He shares the defining question God posed to him: If things never get fixed, but you have Me, is that enough? This surrender became the turning point from death to "Capital L" Life. The sermon concludes with the hopeful reality that God is a God of resurrection. Lee’s marriage was not just restored but made new, and his ministry was reborn into a mission to help other men find spiritual breakthroughs. ------------------------------------------------------- 📖 Scripture References John 10 : 10 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JHN.10.10.NIV Acts 1 : 8 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/ACT.1.8.NIV Luke 24 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/LUK.24.NIV Mark 5 : 25 - 34 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/MRK.5.25-34.NIV Matthew 16 : 25 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.16.25.NIV ------------------------------------------------------- 00:00 – Introduction: Pastor Drew introduces Pastor Lee Martin. 05:00 – The Thesis: John 10:10—Understanding "Capital L" Life vs. the Thief. 07:06 – Point 1: "How did I get here?": Dealing with the reality of disappointment. 10:02 – The Backstory: Pastor Lee shares his journey of success and subsequent failure in Omaha. 19:09 – The Reality of Disappointment: Lessons from the Road to Emmaus (Luke 24). 25:30 – Point 2: "God, I can't fix this.": Realizing life’s hardest problems can't be solved alone. 26:35 – The Wilderness: Seven years in the "desert" and the struggle to move forward. 31:50 – Point 3: "If you don’t rescue me, I’m finished.": The breakthrough on the mountain. 35:20 – The Question of Surrender: "If you only have Me, is it enough?" 39:50 – Resurrection: How God restored his family and ministry. ------------------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! 9 Keys to a THRIVING Relationship // Relationships (part 4) // Pastor Drew
🔥 "If you have a relationship that you are in that is not drawing you nearer to Him, you're doing it wrong. You either need to redefine that relationship and how you interact with it, or cut it off." — Pastor Drew In the sermon "9 Keys to a THRIVING Relationship," Pastor Drew emphasizes that our human relationships are designed to point us back to our Creator. He explains that we often try to bridge the gap between ourselves and others through our own effort, but real reconciliation and growth only happen when we prioritize our vertical relationship with God. By applying biblical principles like empathetic listening, selfless service, and radical forgiveness, we transform our interactions from being "me-centered" to "Christ-centered," allowing our relationships to thrive even in difficult seasons. 🔥 The 9 Keys to a Thriving Relationship 🔥 1 - Center Your Relationship on Christ: Move toward God to get closer to each other. 2 - Speak Empathy Before Truth: Be "with" people in their pain before offering solutions. 3 - Do Not Defend; Understand: Be quick to listen and slow to speak. 4 - Be a Servant First: Outdo one another in showing honor. 5 - Pray With and For Each Other: Invite God to be the unifier in the relationship. 6 - Celebrate More Than You Critique: Maintain a 5-to-1 ratio of positive to negative interactions. 7 - Forgive as You Have Been Forgiven: Forgive quickly, just as Christ forgave you. 8 - Look to Honor God: See every relationship as a way to reflect God's character. 9 - Let Love Be the Engine: Put on love, which binds everything together in perfect unity. --------------------------------------------------------- 📖 Scripture References Psalm 133:1 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PSA.133.1.NIV Romans 12:15 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/ROM.12.15.NIV Ephesians 4:15 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/EPH.4.15.NIV James 1:19 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JAS.1.19.NIV Matthew 9:35 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.9.35.NIV Matthew 18:19-20 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.18.19-20.NIV Proverbs 18:21 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PRO.18.21.NIV Colossians 3:13-14 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/COL.3.13-14.NIV 1 Peter 4:8 – https://www.bible.com/bible/111/1PE.4.8.NIV --------------------------------------------------------- [00:00] Sermon: 9 Keys to a Thriving Relationship [07:23] Key 1: Center on Christ [12:54] Key 2: Speak Empathy Before Truth [16:09] Key 3: Do Not Defend; Understand [19:42] Key 4: Be a Servant First [22:37] Key 5: Pray With and For Each Other [25:44] Key 6: Celebrate More Than You Critique [28:10] Key 7: Forgive as You Have Been Forgiven [30:51] Key 8: Look to Honor God [35:13] Key 9: Let Love Be the Engine --------------------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! The paradoxes of a GODLY MAN // Relationships (part 2) // Pastor Drew
💯 "Become the type of man that the type of woman of God that you want to raise your kids is looking for." In this sermon, titled "The Paradoxes of a Godly Man," Pastor Drew of Collective Church Omaha explores the dual nature of Christian manhood within the context of relationships. He emphasizes that a godly man must balance seemingly contradictory traits to lead effectively and love well. The message focuses on the "oobleck" nature of a godly man—being both solid and fluid at the same time. Pastor Drew identifies four key "paradoxes" that define this balance: 1️⃣ Lover and a Fighter: A man should cultivate gentleness and righteousness (a lover) while remaining a spiritual warrior for his family and faith (a fighter). 2️⃣ Loving Servant and a Solid Leader: True leadership is modeled after Jesus, who led by serving others and washing feet. It requires humility and lifting up one's spouse and family rather than ruling with an iron fist. 3️⃣ Gracious and Just: A man must be able to offer undeserved favor and mercy while also standing firm on what is right and providing necessary correction and protection. 4️⃣ Courageously Resolute and Vulnerably Connected: While a man must be a courageous protector who faces fear, he must also know how to let down his guard to be emotionally available and connected to God and his family. ------------------------------------ 📖 Scripture References: 1 Timothy 6: 11 - 14 : https://www.bible.com/bible/111/1TI.6.11-14 Psalm 112 : https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PSA.112 Ephesians 5: 25 - 28 : https://www.bible.com/bible/111/EPH.5.25-28 ------------------------------------ [00:00] Relationship Series Intro [05:41] The Paradoxes of a Godly Man [10:40] The Oobleck Illustration [19:54] Paradox 1: Lover & Fighter [25:58] Paradox 2: Servant & Leader [28:02] Paradox 3: Gracious & Just [29:59] Paradox 4: Resolute & Vulnerable [36:13] Summary of Paradoxes [39:32] Final Prayer ------------------------------------ For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! LOVE LIES: How to RUIN your relationship before it STARTS // Relationships (part 1) // Pastor Drew
❤️❤️ "Love is a verb. Love is an action. Love looks like serving, love looks like patience, love looks like kindness... the feeling is the fruit that follows." In this sermon, "LOVE LIES: How to RUIN your relationship before it STARTS," Pastor Drew kicks off a new series on relationships by exposing six common "love lies" that can undermine a foundation before it’s even built. By contrasting modern dating culture with biblical principles, he challenges viewers to move away from looking for "the one" and instead focus on becoming the right person through a relationship with Jesus. The message emphasizes that true fulfillment isn't found in a partner, but in Christ, and that lasting love is built on a covenant commitment rather than a temporary agreement. ------------------------------------ [00:00] Community Groups & Announcements [10:32] Sermon Intro: The Need for a Fresh Start [15:22] Series Launch: Relationships (Part 1) [24:23] Message: Love Lies [25:32] Lie #1: They Should Fulfill You [29:25] Lie #2: Keep Your Faith to Yourself [31:44] Lie #3: Love is Butterflies [34:24] Lie #4: Establish an Agreement, Not a Commitment [38:09] Lie #5: Looking for "The One" [40:30] Lie #6: Try it Before You Buy It [45:39] The Big Idea: There IS ALWAYS GRACE [48:42] Closing Prayer & Invitation for a Fresh Start ------------------------------------ 📖 Scripture References Matthew 18 : 3 — https://bible.com/bible/111/MAT.18.3.NIV Proverbs 12 : 1 — https://bible.com/bible/111/PRO.12.1.NIV Ecclesiastes 2 : 10-11 — https://bible.com/bible/111/ECC.2.10-11.NIV 2 Corinthians 6 : 14 — https://bible.com/bible/111/2CO.6.14.NIV 2 Corinthians 7 — https://bible.com/bible/111/2CO.7.NIV 1 Corinthians 13 — https://bible.com/bible/111/1CO.13.NIV Malachi 2 : 14 — https://bible.com/bible/111/MAL.2.14.NIV Hebrews 13 : 4 — https://bible.com/bible/111/HEB.13.4.NIV ------------------------------------ For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! Lean in to TRUSTING God // Lean In Series (part 2) // Pastor Morgan
🙏🏻 "Wait for God's best, because your backup plan will never satisfy you like His presence will." In this message, Pastor Morgan explores the concept of "supernatural trust," focusing on how to rely on God when life feels uncertain or overwhelming. She acknowledges that many people suffer from "trust trauma" due to broken human relationships, which can make it difficult to believe in God's reliability. Drawing from the biblical book of Habakkuk, the sermon illustrates the transition from questioning God's silence to rejoicing in His character. The core of the message emphasizes that trust is a "wrestle and a wait." It requires the discipline of staying present with God rather than rushing to create a self-reliant backup plan. Through personal stories of navigating a medical crisis with her newborn daughter, Pastor Morgan highlights that God’s faithfulness is not defined by the absence of trouble, but by His constant presence and strength in the midst of it. The sermon concludes with a call to lay down personal burdens and actively choose to rejoice in God, even when circumstances have not yet changed. ----------------------------------- 📖 Scripture References Hebrews 13 5-6 Jeremiah 17 7-8 Habakkuk 3 2 Joshua 10 Habakkuk 3 16-19 Job 13 15 Psalm 37 25 ----------------------------------- [00:00:01] — Update on the Church Fast [00:01:55] — Leaning Into Trust [00:06:38] — Supernatural Trust [00:08:17] — Bible Study: Habakkuk 3 [00:11:31] — The Wrestle and the Wait [00:15:35] — Trusting in the Dry Seasons [00:23:51] — Letting Go of the Ledge [00:26:31] — Personal Testimony [00:33:29] — The Habakkuk Exercise [00:34:45] — Altar Call ------------------------------------ For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! Lean In CLOSER // Lean In Series (part 1) // Pastor Drew
🔥🔥 "I cannot control what the end of 2026 is going to look like, but I can control the posture that I take in the midst of all of it." Pastor Drew introduces the central theme for the year, "Lean In," rooted in the scripture of Proverbs 3:5-6. He explains that while the future is often unpredictable and "foggy," our spiritual clarity is directly tied to our proximity to Christ. The sermon explores three primary spiritual postures: leaning back into the past (often leading to depression), no lean (which leaves one unstable and easily influenced), and leaning forward with anxiety about the future. Instead, Drew advocates for a posture of "leaning in"—a state of readiness and expectation. He teaches that God primarily communicates through whispers rather than dramatic "shouts," and hearing Him requires intentional proximity. To achieve this, he challenges the congregation to lean in through both habits—specifically a 14-day fast from food and entertainment—and heart, which involves vulnerability and surrendering one's personal plans to God's higher purpose. ------------------------------------ 📖 Scripture References Proverbs 29 18 Proverbs 3 5–6 1 Corinthians 13 12 2 Corinthians 3 18 1 Kings 19 Matthew 10 27 John 15 4–5 Romans 12 2 ------------------------------------ [00:00] Sermon Intro: Goodbye 2025 & Vision for 2026 [01:24] The Power of Prophetic Vision (Proverbs 29 18) [04:03] Prayer for Personal Submission & Growth [06:23] 2026 Theme Reveal: "Lean In" (Proverbs 3 5-6) [07:41] Message Title: "Lean In Closer" [08:53] The Three Postures: Leaning Back, No Lean, and Leaning Forward [13:07] The Principle of Proximity: Seeing Christ Clearly [13:41] Navigation Through the "Fog" of Life [17:28] Three Ways God Speaks: Shouts, Nudges, and Whispers [25:15] Leaning In with Habits: Transformation & Renewing the Mind [26:59] The 14-Day Fast: Food and Entertainment [32:45] Leaning In with Heart: Vulnerability and Grace [36:29] Closing Challenge ------------------------------------ For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! Sabbath Sunday // 2025 Recap & 2026 Vision // Pastor Drew & Morgan
🙌🏻🙌🏻 "I find some of the most powerful things that are ever said are not shouted, but are whispered." In this special "Sabbath Sunday" service, Pastor Drew and Morgan of Collective Church reflect on the growth and impact of the church in 2025 and look ahead to the vision for 2026. They celebrate significant milestones, including 100 salvations and rededications, a 20% increase in group participation, and the church's largest-ever faith offering of $35,000. The theme for 2025 was "Hungry," which saw a 37% growth in prayer services and a record-breaking 22% conversion rate for baptisms. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Looking forward to 2026, the pastors unveil the new theme: "Lean In." This vision emphasizes posturing one's life toward trust and intimacy with God rather than relying on self-understanding. The service concludes with a call to action for a church-wide fast starting January 4th and an invitation to return to in-person services to begin the new year together. --------------------------------------------- 📖 Scripture References: Proverbs 3:5-6 John 15:5 James 4:8 ---------------------------------------------- [00:00] Sabbath Sunday [00:54] 2025 Mission Recap [05:11] Reviewing the "Hungry" Theme [11:43] Stories of Transformation [16:35] 2026 Vision [25:12] Prayer for the New Year [29:51] Reflective Questions for the Year-End [32:18] Upcoming Events ---------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://form.church/youcollectiveomaha We'd love to hear from you! A Choice and A Chance // The Light of the World (part 4) // Pastor Drew
🔆🔆"There is no pride so big that it is too big to bow down before the baby Messiah." In this Christmas Eve service, Pastor Drew concludes the 🔆"Light of the World"🔆 series by exploring the profound implications of Jesus’ birth. He highlights the contrast between the glorious light of Christ and the humble, "messy" reality of the manger. The message centers on the idea that encountering the light of Christ forces every person into a "choice and a chance": the choice to either humble oneself and "bow" like the wise men, or to feel threatened and oppose Him like King Herod. Pastor Drew emphasizes that accepting Jesus isn't just a tradition but a life-altering shift in perspective that brings true purpose and hope, moving us out of the darkness of self-reliance into the light of God’s grace. ------------------------------------------ 📖 Scripture references: John 1:1-5 1 John 1:5-7 Matthew 2:1-3, 9-11 John 12:35-36, 46 ------------------------------------------ [00:00] Welcome and Christmas Traditions [02:04] The Real Reason for the Season [05:02] The Light of the World Series Recap [08:14] Stained Glass Activity & Perspective [11:47] The Visit of the Wise Men [14:12] A Choice and A Chance [17:37] Two Responses: The Magi vs. Herod [21:07] Walking in the Light [25:55] One Shot, One Opportunity [29:15] Invitation to Prayer and Commitment ------------------------------------------ For any information, how to connect, and prayer requests: https://collectivechurchomaha.churchcenter.com/people/forms/968572 We'd love to hear from you! DEFEAT Your Darkness // The Light of the World (part 3) // Pastor Drew
🔆"The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine."🔆 In "DEFEAT Your Darkness," the final installment of the "Light of the World" series, Pastor Drew explains that darkness is not just an external force but something that resides within our own lives and histories. Drawing from the prophecy in Isaiah 9, he highlights how God promised light to a land "thrust into thick darkness" as a result of their own disobedience. The sermon focuses on three specific areas where God wants to turn your darkness into light: 🔆 Your Sin: Sin creates a weight that no human effort or "good vibes" can remove; it must be laid at the feet of Jesus for redemption. 🔆 Your Story: God doesn't just cut off your past; He reshapes old traumas, mistakes, and pains into a powerful testimony. 🔆 Your Self: While the world tells you to "build yourself," true freedom is found in surrendering your self-image and identity to be redefined by your Creator. The message concludes with a call to bring these dark areas into the light of Christ, trusting that "the darkness has not overcome it." ----------------------------- 📖 Scripture References Isaiah 9:2, 6-7 Isaiah 8:22 Isaiah 9:1 Luke 1:26-38 John 1:5 Isaiah 1:18 ------------------------------- [00:03:09] The Prophecy of Great Light (Isaiah 9:2, 6-7) [00:06:30] The Season of Deep Darkness (Isaiah 8:22) [00:10:29] Herod: A False Picture of Light [00:17:41] Area 1: Turning Your Sin into Light [00:21:55] Area 2: Reshaping Your Story (Mary's Story) [00:26:14] Area 3: Redefining Your Self [00:29:42] The Light Darkness Cannot Overcome (John 1:5) [00:34:25] Altar Call: Surrendering Darkness to Jesus ---- For any information, how to connect, and prayer requests: https://collectivechurchomaha.churchcenter.com/people/forms/968572 We'd love to hear from you! YOU are the LIGHT // The Light of the World (part 2) // Pastor Drew
🔆🔆"You are the light of the world... let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." In the sermon "YOU are the LIGHT," Pastor Drew addresses the tension between Jesus declaring He is the light of the world and telling believers they are the light of the world. The resolution is that believers are lampshades containing the True Light (Jesus). The message stresses that our light is not a performance but a natural overflow of our spiritual proximity to Christ. Our light shines through tangible good works and excellence in the ordinary (Philippians 2:14-18), rather than a religious "vibe." This light then becomes contagious (like fire), drawing attention to Christ, who is the source. The sermon concludes by challenging the church to be a "double blessing" to their community—giving an invite along with an act of generosity—to draw others closer to the True Light. ---------------------------------------------------- 🔆 Scripture References: John 1:1-9 John 8:12 Matthew 5:14-16 Philippians 2:14-18 Psalm 27:1 Isaiah 60:1-3 Acts 4:13 ---------------------------------------------------- [00:00] Sermon Introduction: Who is the Light of the World? The Light of Christ // The Light of the World (part 1) // Pastor Drew
🔆🔆 "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." This message, "The Light of Christ," kicks off the Advent season by celebrating two major wins—meeting the $35,000 Faith Offering goal and launching a successful drive for 300 foster children's Christmas gifts. Pastor Drew then dives into John 1:1-5, establishing Jesus as the Logos (The Word), who was present at creation and is the source of all life and light. The sermon challenges us to reframe the worst parts of our story by recognizing that Jesus was "there the whole time," redeeming the past. The light of Christ does three essential things: 🔆 Reveals Absolute Truth: Exposing all other worldviews as insufficient. 🔆 Exposes Sin: Bringing our shame and mess into the open for healing. 🔆 Blinds Pride: Humbling those who think they can see and figure things out on their own. The message concludes with a powerful invitation to step into the light for forgiveness, healing, and clarity of purpose. 📖 Scripture References: John 1:1-5 Genesis 1:1 John 8:12 Psalm 119:105 John 3:20 John 9:39 Psalm 139:23 ------------------------------------ [00:01:02] Celebrations and Introduction: The Darkest Time of Year [00:04:50] The Word Made Flesh: The Prologue [00:11:19] Reframing Your Story with The Logos [00:22:22] The Light's Three Functions [00:32:22] Altar Call: Stepping into the Light ------------------------------------ For any information, how to connect, and prayer requests: https://collectivechurchomaha.churchcenter.com/people/forms/968572 We'd love to hear from you! How to Be Thankful IN Your Circumstances // Russ
🙏🏻 "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Notice the words: in all circumstances. Give thanks in, not for." In the sermon "How to Be Thankful IN Your Circumstances," Collective Church's Ministry Director Russ addresses the difficulty of maintaining gratitude when facing hardship. He shares a personal struggle with discouragement before setting out to answer the question: How can we be grateful when life is hard? The sermon identifies four primary types of difficult "circumstances" or "walls" we face, each reflected in the Bible: the Valley (darkness/pain), the Fire or Pit (chaos/unexpected), the Prison (rejection/isolation), and the Wilderness (doubt/waiting). The solution is not to be thankful for the suffering, but to be thankful in the suffering by seeing through the wall to God's unchanging character. This is done by reciting truths over the situation: He will never leave you, He sees you, He is with you, and He is your strength. By surrendering the blame and focusing on God's kindness, goodness, and mercy, we gain the peace promised by Jesus, who has already overcome the world. ------------------------------------------- [00:00:00] Faith Offering Update and The Matthew 25 Challenge [00:06:29] Sermon Introduction: How to Be Thankful IN Circumstance [00:13:58] 1 Thessalonians 5: Being Thankful IN, not FOR [00:15:16] The Circumstances: Valley, Fire, Prison, Wilderness [00:23:00] Seeing Through the Wall: The Unchanging Truths -------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and prayer requests: https://collectivechurchomaha.churchcenter.com/people/forms/968572 We'd love to hear from you! It's ALL About HIM // More Than Me Series (part 3) // Pastor Drew
🙌🏻🙌🏻 "All things have been created through him and for him... He might come to have first place in everything." This message, "IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM," is the powerful conclusion to the "More Than Me" series, establishing that the ultimate motivation for every act of self-denial and generosity is the glory of Jesus Christ. Pastor Drew uses the context of Faith Offering Sunday to challenge the deeply rooted pride that asks, "Why can't it be about me?" He explains that every blessing, provision, and strength comes from Him and through Him, meaning the only righteous response is to live a life to Him. The sermon drives home that when every motive—from brushing your teeth to giving money—is solely focused on Christ's preeminence, we find freedom from sin, purpose, and clarity. The message concludes with the exciting announcement of the Faith Offering total, providing tangible proof that when a church acts for God's glory, He moves supernaturally. ------------------------------------------- [00:00:00] Project Rescue & Faith Offering Context [00:12:39] Generosity as Worship & The Heart Check [00:25:07] Recap: IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM (Christ's Preeminence) [00:45:09] The Call to Decrease and Live for His Glory [00:55:59] Faith Offering Total Announced ------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and prayer requests: https://collectivechurchomaha.churchcenter.com/people/forms/968572 We'd love to hear from you! The BEST Love // More Than Me Series (part 2) // Pastor Drew
❤️❤️ "Love is not about giving so that it'll be reciprocated. Love is not a contract of mutual backscratching. Love looks like self-sacrifice." This message focuses on the radical nature of Christian love as demonstrated by Jesus. The core message is that true love is defined by self-sacrifice and action, not emotion. Pastor Drew challenges the common cultural view of love as a mutual agreement, stating that love, modeled by Christ, means laying down one's life for others. Uncomfortable Generosity: The call to stretch beyond one's comfort zone in every aspect of life, from relationships to chores, and especially in giving. The World's Greatest Need: Emphasizing that the world's greatest need is Jesus, and the only way people will get the gospel is through the self-sacrificial actions of the Church. Practical Application: The sermon connects the concept of sacrificial love to the church's $35,000 Faith Offering goal, highlighting the impact of supporting global missions, particularly Project Rescue, which combats human trafficking. The message concludes by urging listeners to partner with God's generosity, using the promise that God will generously provide for those who give cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:6-8). ----------------------------------------------------------------- [00:00:00] Sermon Introduction: The Best Love (The Bad Date Story) [00:05:12] The Danger of Selfish Faith [00:09:35] Mission & Faith Offering Update [00:16:59] Defining Real Love by Sacrifice (1 John 3:16) [00:24:46] Challenge to Live Uncomfortably Generous [00:34:09] Giving Cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:6-8) [00:36:39] Project Rescue Video: Combating Human Trafficking [00:42:59] The Unmatched Love of Jesus & Final Altar Call ------------------------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://collectivechurchomaha.churchcenter.com/people/forms/968572 We'd love to hear from you! It’s Not About Me // More Than Me Series (part 1) // Pastor Drew
🌎 "The first step to changing the world is actually to take our gaze off of ourselves." - Pastor Drew In Part 1 of the new More Than Me series, Pastor Drew tackles one of the most offensive and foundational calls of Jesus: the demand to deny yourself and take up your cross. This message confronts the modern world's hyper-focus on "me," which leads to anxiety, isolation, and a blurring of background mission. The sermon defines humility not as thinking less of yourself, but as thinking of yourself less. It argues that the denial of self is directly linked to the virtue of financial giving, which is called the greatest form of worship because it reveals where the heart truly lies. Ultimately, the message is a bold challenge to shift your gaze off the mirror and onto the world, moving beyond comfort to partner in the church's mission for local, global, and future impact, including the fight against human trafficking. ---------------------------------------------------- [00:00:00] Opening Testimony on Generous Giving [00:04:36] The Problem of Self-Focus ("The World's Greatest Concern is Me") [00:10:35] It's Not About Me – The Call to Deny Yourself [00:19:48] Humility as the Doorway to God and Missions [00:23:40] The 2025 Faith Offering Goal and Challenge [00:31:09] Focus: Project Rescue (Combating Human Trafficking) [00:38:45] Challenge to Radical Generosity and Final Call to Surrender ---------------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and/or prayer requests: https://collectivechurchomaha.churchcenter.com/people/forms/968572 We'd love to hear from you! How to find truth in an AI world // Pastor Morgan
🔥🔥"You'll know what truth isn't when it feels good but it's not drawing you closer to God. If it draws you away from the body of Christ or away from the Lord, it's not a good thing." Pastor Morgan tackles the challenge of finding truth in an AI and social media-driven world, where data consumption is overwhelming and deception is constant. The central message is that Truth is not a feeling or an emotion, but a Person: Jesus. The sermon breaks down how the enemy uses "itching ears" to spread false gospels that seem appealing but distort core doctrines (like using grace as an excuse for immorality). Ultimately, the path to remaining grounded is to study the Word, live the Truth through obedience, and be led by the Spirit. The message is a powerful call to detox from the world's noise and become a light in a dark world by standing firm on God's unchanging truth. ---------------------------------------------------------- [00:00:00] - Introduction: Game – Quote, Scripture, or Lyric? Whose Kingdom are You Building? // David (part 8) // Pastor Drew
🔥"Pride says, 'Look at me, don't you see how great I am?' Insecurity says, 'Look at me, don't you see how worthless I am?' Both are still saying, 'Look at me.' True confidence is rooted in radical vulnerability with God." In the final message of the David series, Pastor Drew tackles a fundamental question for all believers: Whose kingdom are you building? This sermon compares the destructive leadership of King Saul and King David's son, Absalom, with David's eventual model of confident humility. We explore how both pride and deep insecurity manifest as the same self-centered drive for attention, leading leaders to become impulsive tyrants and betray their calling. The true path to effective influence is found not in seeking the spotlight, but in David’s example of radical vulnerability with the Lord—a powerful prayer life that allows him to stand tall in confidence before man. The message is a challenge to reject the desire to "look great" and instead embrace the high calling God has placed on your life, using even your weakest moments for His glory (2 Corinthians 3:4-5). ------------------------------------------------------ [00:00:46] - Introduction & Prayer: If We Are Faithless, He Remains Faithful (2 Timothy 2 : 13) [00:04:45] - Sermon Introduction: Impulsive Tyrant vs. Protecting Shepherd [00:08:32] - The Problem of Human Leadership: Why We Must Follow Christ First [00:12:37] - Theme: Whose Kingdom Are You Building? Worshiping a Holy God // David (Part 6) // Pastor Drew
💯 "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts. My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts." — Isaiah 55:8-9 In Part 6 of the David series, Pastor Drew tackles a challenging and foundational question: Are you worshiping God your way or His way? This message unpacks the dramatic and frightening story of Uzzah from 2 Samuel 6, where a well-intentioned act of steadying the Ark of the Covenant resulted in instant judgment. This event reveals a profound truth: a Holy God cannot be approached casually. We explore the vital balance between the fear of God and the love of God, and how mistaking one for the other leads to self-centered worship. Pastor Drew uses a relatable "gift analogy" to illustrate why true worship must align with God's desires, not our own preferences. Ultimately, we see David's true victory: an intense, abandoned pursuit of God's presence, despite looking foolish in the eyes of man. This sermon is a powerful challenge to surrender casual sin, prioritize spiritual strength, and discover that God's presence is the only place for true, unfailing blessing. -------------------------------------- Welcome and Sermon Introduction - [00:47] Worship My Way vs. Worship God's Way - [07:04] Holiness Cannot Be Approached Casually (The Death of Uzzah) - [10:59] Caution: God is Not a Perfect Version of You - [17:18] The Fear and Love of God Must Go Hand in Hand - [19:40] The Gift Analogy: Worship God the Way He Desires - [23:09] God's Presence is the Only Place for True Blessing - [29:40] David's Victory: Worshiping Regardless of Man's Opinion - [34:38] The Gospel: Perfect Love Casts Out All Fear - [38:16] -------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and prayer requests: https://collectivechurchomaha.churchcenter.com/people/forms/968572 We'd love to hear from you! After God’s Own Heart // David (Part 5) // Pastor Drew
🙌🏻 "One thing I ask, one thing I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life; to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple." 🙌🏻 In the fifth part of the David series, Pastor Drew contrasts the leadership and internal battles of King Saul and King David, ultimately focusing on the difference between Trust in Man and Trust in God. Why did the Spirit of the Lord leave King Saul, and why did Saul ultimately turn to a medium for answers? Pastor Drew unpacks the unsettling scripture of 1 Samuel 16, explaining that Saul's rejection by God was due to his heart choosing the approval of man over obedience. This choice resulted in a fear-driven response that led him to pursue the demonic at Endor, desperately seeking answers anywhere but from God. Learn to recognize your own fear response, and discover the singular motive that shaped David's life. David's victory over fear was rooted in his "one thing" (Psalm 27:4): a relentless pursuit of God's presence, not the appearance of goodness. This sermon is a powerful call to strengthen your spirit by purifying your motives, surrendering the pursuit of human approval, and planting your trust solely in the Name of the Lord. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:00:52 - Welcome & Sermon Introduction 00:02:42 - The Spirit Leaving Saul: Rejection and God's Restraint (1 Samuel 16) 00:12:44 - The Core Contrast: Trust in Man vs. Trust in God 00:15:44 - Saul's Fear Response and Pursuit of the Medium at Endor 00:27:10 - Warning: The Reality of the Demonic and Spiritual Strength 00:33:43 - David's Motive: The One Thing I Ask (Psalm 27) 00:37:56 - Call to Purify Motives and Surrender Trust ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For any information, how to connect, and prayer requests: https://collectivechurchomaha.churchcenter.com/people/forms/968572 We'd love to hear from you! A Spirit of Honor // David (Part 4) // Pastor Morgan
💯 "Every person around me is deserving of both personal and positional honor. Honor is not optional, it is not earned, it is given." In this message, "A Spirit of Honor," Pastor Morgan tackles the deep division and "cancel culture" of our world by focusing on a crucial spiritual discipline: honor. Drawing from David's decision to spare King Saul's life in the cave (1 Samuel 24:1-12), she teaches that true honor is freely given, not earned like respect (Romans 12:10). The message outlines who we are called to honor and explains that a lack of honor can actually limit what God can do in our lives (Mark 6:1-6). Learn how a spirit of honor shows your love for God's image in others, shapes your character, and keeps you like 'moldable clay,' prepared for every good work (2 Timothy 2:20-21). Crowned but Crushed: Saul’s Warning for Our Calling // David (Part 2) // Pastor Drew
🔥🔥🔥 "When it comes to obedience, good intent is NOT good enough." - Pastor Drew In this powerful sermon, "Crowned but Crushed: Saul's Warning for Our Calling," Pastor Drew delivers a timely message that connects the story of King Saul to the challenges we face today. Starting in 1 Samuel 8. Using the life of King Saul as a cautionary tale, he highlights a critical truth for anyone seeking to live a life of purpose: 1️⃣ God will give you what isn’t best for you Learn why Saul's anointing ultimately crushed him. Discover why God is more concerned with building your character than your calling, and how your spiritual foundation must be strong enough to support the blessings and responsibilities God places on your life. 2️⃣ Your character upholds your calling Find out how Saul's downfall began with his fear of the people and his disobedience to God. This message will challenge you to examine where your obedience truly lies—with God or with the voices of those around you. 3️⃣ Your character is determined by your faith Pastor Drew emphasizes that true character is not built on your own efforts, but on a surrendered life to Jesus Christ. Build A Lasting Legacy // David (Part 1) // Pastor Drew
The greatest legacy you can leave is not money. It's not a business. The greatest legacy you can leave is a life of faith. In this powerful message, Pastor Drew kicks off a new series on the life of King David by first looking at the legacy of Samuel, Israel's first great leader. He brings us into the period of the Judges, a time of chaos and disarray, to highlight the importance of true, committed leadership and living a life dedicated to him. 🔎 Discover the four essential tools for building a lasting legacy: 1️⃣ Complete Commitment: Learn the importance of dedicating your life to God, just as Samuel's mother, Hannah, did. 2️⃣ Proximity with Practice: Find out why just being near God isn't enough. When You Build God’s House // Church: ALIVE (part 4) // Pastor Morgan
In this powerful sermon, Pastor Morgan explores the profound importance of tithing and giving, revealing it as a vital act of obedience and faith. Discover why partnering with God through our finances is essential for building His church and unlocking His full blessings in our lives. This message isn't about prosperity; it's about surrendering control to God and allowing Him to be the master of every aspect of your life. Key Points 1️⃣ Tithing is about partnership, not provision. God doesn't need our money, but He invites us to partner with Him to accomplish His mission. 2️⃣ Faithfulness in giving unlocks promised blessings. While not a "prosperity gospel," God promises to take care of those who are faithful in taking care of His church. 3️⃣ True surrender involves your finances. A message that she said that stood is "God gives us gifts to be given for his glory. Drew talked about how to build your own identity declarations. Which are; 1.) Read the Bible and know what God says about you. 2.) Create a list of “who I am” and “who I’m not.” 3.) Build the list into concise statements. 4.) Confirm that the statements point toward Biblical truth, not personal desire. 5.) Make the statements a prayer. Thank you for joining us for Collective Church Online! Russ and Morgan // [On My Heart] (part 2) // Pastor Morgan
---- Russ and Morgan // [On My Heart] (part 2) // Pastor Morgan Welcome to part of the "On My Heart" Series. Today, we had Russ and Morgan preach a powerful message. Russ talked about Dressing Differently. The best way to dress differently is to dress by putting on the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 13:14 "put on the Lord Jesus Christ" and to "make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires." Russ talked about three ways to dress differently; which is making space, change your focus, and be authentic. One thing that stood out to me was when Russ said to change your focus to be a "here I am" person rather than a "there you are" person. "When you dress differently, you bless differently." - Russ. Morgan talked about being found faithful. She brought up the story of Mosses. Here are three things we learned from the story of Mosses. God partners with those who have crazy faith to believe Him for big things. God chooses those who are faithful with little, build them big. Build whatever is in front of you. It's the faith that God admires in us. Mosses was a perfect example, for decades he was building the Arc by hand piece by piece. "God isn’t looking for gifting, He’s looking for 2 hands and a faithful spirit" - Morgan. Thank you for joining us for Collective Church Online! Caleb, Laura, Mike // [On My Heart] (part 1) // Pastor Drew
---- Caleb, Laura, Mike // [On My Heart] (part 1) // Pastor Drew PRAYER AND THE BIBLE: TALKING WITH GOD - CALEB TRUEBLOOD HOW TO HEAL FROM TRAUMA - LAURA MILLIKEN THE ROAD BACK - Mike losole Enjoy our first "On My Heart" video. In this series, we will have multiple speakers preaching their tips and advice on living like Christ. Caleb talked about prayer and reading the Bible. He emphasized the importance of being consistent on reading the word, even during times when we don't feel like reading. Caleb mentioned 5 applications to help you get started as you read and study Scripture: 1. Get a Bible Study 2. Before you read, Pray 3. Read a couple verses or header to header. 4. Pray and ask for clarity and understanding with what you just read. 5. Read the footnotes and the other linked verses. Laura talked about trauma. Sometimes, we may have experienced trauma over the years and not even realize it. Trauma is a deeply distressing experience that can have lasting negative effects on a person's mental, emotional, relational and even physical well-being. It arises from events that overwhelm an individual's ability to cope, leading to feelings of fear, helplessness, rejection, and dissociation. She mentioned that Time may numb the pain a bit, but it does not heal all wounds…Jesus does though. Mike talked about staying on the right narrow road. Sometimes driving the right road, we come access detours. This may set us back, but we must get back up and repent. Despite our failures, God chooses us. Repentance always puts us back to a place where God can restore and use us again. Accept God’s forgiveness and move forward. Psalms 51:1-5 "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. 5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me." Change Your Mind, Change Your Life // The Book of Philippians, Part 5 // Pastor Drew
Finding freedom from the bondage of anxiety can only come by renewing your mind. How to find Peace in Anxiety: 1. Redirecting your Heart 2. Redirecting your Focus 3. Redirecting your Habits Philippians 4:4-9 "4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you." Eternally Focused // Philippians, part 4 // Pastor Drew Milliken
The world seems to always be growing more chaotic and out of control. How should we view what happens around us and within us? A mature believer sees every moment in light of standing before Christ and this focus changes everything! Being Eternally Focused Reshapes: - My Purpose - My Pain - My Person - My Perspective - My Pursuit - My Perseverance Philippians 3:12-14 "12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." ---- Thank you for joining us for Collective Church Online! Spiritual Fitness // The Book of Philippians (part 3) // Pastor Drew
“Working out your salvation is less about doing and more about becoming.” - Pastor Drew In Today's sermon, we talked about the common misconceptions of obedience, performance, appearance, & salvation. WORKING OUT YOUR SALVATION: - Is not Performance (Lie: Obedience earns your salvation) - Is not Appearance (Lie: Obedience proves your salvation) - Is Response (Truth: Obedience comes from salvation) Philippians 2:12-13 "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." Galatians 1:10 "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." Step back and think about the motives that dictate your decisions. Are we seeking approval from God or man? Live for God, not the world. ---- Thank you for joining us for Collective Church Online! Live at the Pace of Love // Unstoppable series (part 6) // Pastor Drew
Live at the Pace of Love - Pastor Drew Milliken In today's message, we talked about the pace of love. Love has a pace, and it’s slower than you are. Love has a space, and it’s bigger than you’re giving it - Drew. We tend to be too busy in our day to day lives and sometimes we miss valuable moments connecting with others. Slowing down our pace can open the opportunity of connecting with others. For example, our neighbors are the closest to us and yet some of us can't name 3 neighbors. So go out there, love your neighbors and others deeply. Show the love of Jesus through you. ---- Thank you for joining us for Collective Church Online!
