#19 - Why It's Important to Reflect on Our Birth(s) (and Where to Start)
Whether you have yet to birth, or have experienced it - this episode is for you!Reflecting on birth goes beyond reliving memories. Our society often ignores (though not always intentionally) the impact our birth experiences have on our lives forever, whether it was joyful or challenging. Today, I start the conversation by sharing my own personal story - to encourage us as mamas to prioritize this often-overlooked aspect of our lives.Stick around to the end, where I share questions to use to begin your reflection!Website: createdforthisbirth.com

#15 - Embracing What's to Come - Quieting the Noise in Anticipation of Birth
Yesterday was my Estimated Guess Date for Baby Boy #2's arrival!! So I am currently on 'leave' either soaking in newborn snuggles or still anticipating his arrival. In this episode, I'm covering the shift from education to mental connection and preparation that starts to happen at around 36 weeks of pregnancy. For most moms-to-be… as you get closer to your due date, the external noise we experience typically comes from well-meaning advice and questions from people we love, but that can really distract us from what our hearts are saying and what our instincts are telling us about our birth. So how do we handle that experience, and what can we do to shift from focusing on material things to quiet? **I hopefully be back to recording sometime in February.. so keep an eye out for new episodes to be releasing soon! I’m planning to take a few weeks away from any kind of work/church/life to cocoon with our new family. But if you need anything in the meantime, you have access to my online course as well as my free guide and workshops. You can check them all out at createdforthisbirth.com or catch me on Instagram!

#14 - Who Are You Allowing to Be at Your Birth? It matters.
Birth is intimate. No matter where you are planning to give birth, it is incredibly important to put together a support team that knows, understands, and respects your desires and your boundaries. This episode covers what kind of person should be in your birth space, and how to handle those that are requesting to be there (when you really aren't sure you want them there).Want recommendations on an East Texas Doula? #13 - Your Rights in Birth vs. What's "Allowed"
Pregnancy and birth seem to be some of the only times that we, as adults, let other people tell us what we are “allowed” and “not allowed” to do with our own bodies. Women have been led to believe that they don’t have any say in the decision-making process at all. In this episode we cover words like RIGHTS, "Allowed" and POLICY.Questions? #12 - Things I Did to Create a Peaceful Birth, Instead of One of Fear
Growing up and through college, the idea of birth scared me... I didn't want to experience the pain that I saw associated with it. As I became pregnant, I decided I wanted to experience birth as God created it... without interventions, medicine, and the fear that came with it. So I did some things to prepare, and on today's episode, I'm sharing some of them. I hope it helps you to feel more equipped, empowered, and encouraged on your journey to birth, too. #1 - Introduction & Insight: A Glimpse into My Birth Beginnings
I'm Lindsay Louis, a Certified Christian Childbirth Educator, Trained Birth Doula, and Certified Postpartum Doula. I am also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and an Oh Baby! Fitness® Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Specialist.I am passionate about physiological birth - which just means that I believe the body knows how to birth, and should be left to do it's thing as much as possible. I believe God created us to birth, and I also believe sometimes things don’t go as planned. Whether you would like an epidural, or prefer to experience it unmedicated, I will provide you with the tools you need to make a confident choice for your body and baby. I will equip you to birth how you desire, empower you to choose faith + strength over fear, and encourage you to trust your God-given abilities - through all phases of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.I’ve had a love for holistic wellness for many years, and it only continued through my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I birthed my son undisturbed and unmedicated in an old, two-story house on a brick street with the best team of midwives. My excitement for sharing, teaching, and inspiring women in this stage of life really began to blossom after that experience.A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME:I am a Jesus loving, baby-led, peacemaking, boy mom to an almost 4 year old with our second on the way, and a wife of almost 10 years. I was born and raised in PA, but have since lived in SC, CA, MD, NM, and all over TX. I love to read, travel, exercise, talk about caring for the body naturally, and watch TV! I also enjoy a coffee & connection time with other mamas.THIS PODCAST WILL: Equip you to birth how you desire (w/out second-guessing your choices)Empower you to trust your God-given abilities (of your body and baby)Encourage you to choose faith and strength (over fear and coercion)HAVE A QUESTION YOU WANT ANSWERED ON THE SHOW?
