102 - 🎥 Live Interview with Joseph Born

Joseph Born, “Joe,” is joining us from the frozen lands of Alaska. Joe, who is half Alaska Native himself, shares how his early childhood abuse shaped his life and highlights the systems that failed to protect him. He also discusses how his mental health diagnoses and addictions relate to his abuse. And the challenges they presented during trauma therapy. Joe hopes to share with the world the unique aspects of CSA in Alaska – including its geography, cultural factors, and the ugly truth of intrafamilial abuse. EXTRA Trigger Warning: While editing this episode, I felt myself being triggered moreso than other episodes. 100 - 🎥 Live Panel: “The Epstein Files”

100th Episode!!! This week, I have a special panel with two prior guests, Matt Melvin & Scott Slone, talking about the Epstein Files and how it relates to us CSA & Trafficking Survivors, how we can respond, what the issues are, and so forth. (from Wikipedia) The Epstein files are a partially released collection of millions of documents, images, videos, and emails detailing the activities of American financier and convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including his social circle of public figures, politicians, and celebrities. The files include documents collected as evidence in the criminal cases against Epstein and his associates, stored as over 300 gigabytes of data, alongside other media, in the FBI's Sentinel case management system. They include Epstein's contact book, flight logs of his planes, and court documents. Many of the records and files belong to Epstein's estate, which is run by lawyer Darren Indyke and accountant Richard Kahn.In November 2025, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and the U.S. Senate unanimously approved it, with President Donald Trump signing the bill into law the next day. The following month, the U.S. Department of Justice released a relatively small number of files, leading to criticism from both major parties in the US. Trump had previously floated the idea of releasing the files during his 2024 presidential campaign; he later said that controversies surrounding the files were fabricated by members of the Democratic Party. In January 2026, an additional 3 million pages were released, including 2,000 videos and 180,000 images. While the Department of Justice acknowledged that a total of 6 million pages might qualify as files required to be released, it stated that the January 30 release would be the final one, and that it had met its legal obligations. The released files mentioned a number of public figures, and led to increased scrutiny of their activities. Individuals whose names have shown up frequently in the files include: Epstein's assistant Lesley Groff, accountant Richard Kahn, Trump and his wife Melania Trump, lawyer Darren Indyke, sex trafficker and socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, and modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel. If you want to see the VIDEO 🎥 version of this podcast, you can watch from either Spotify or Youtube.Suicide is talked about in this episode. 97 - 🎥 SPECIAL - A Time to Heal - Weekend Intensive Retreat for CSA Men

This week, I have a special presentation regarding an upcoming Weekend Intensive Retreat for Male CSA Survivors sponsored by Brothers Road. To explain the event, I have 2 former guests, Doug Carpenter and Mark Barber along with Brothers Road Director & Founder, Rich Wyler.Since Rich has not been on the podcast before, I will give him a quick interview before discussing the weekend event.Rich Wyler has been creating and leading experience-based weekend intensives for almost 25 years, starting with  the first "Journey Into Manhood" in 2002. Through a nonprofit fellowship he founded, he has facilitated emotional-healing processes in group settings for hundreds of men in 9 countries and, with the help of skilled interpreters, in at least 6 languages. He is also a certified life coach working with individuals and small groups.A Time to Heal is an experiential weekend intensive for men who deal with the lasting effects of sexual abuse. In a safe, supportive environment, participants engage in guided self-exploration, meaningful connection, and emotional healing. The weekend is designed to reduce shame and self-blame while increasing self-understanding, inner peace, and compassion for one’s own story. Peer-led by men who have been facilitating men’s emotional-healing work for many years, the program is offered in collaboration with psychologist and author Doug Carpenter, Psy.D., and focuses on helping men reclaim their strength, resilience, and wholeness. If you want to see the VIDEO 🎥 version of this podcast, you can watch from either Spotify or Youtube.A Time to Heal Info (Summer 2026):WebsiteJuly 10-12, 2026Shenandoah Valley, VirginiaEarly Registration Fee: $675 when you pay the full amount by May 15, 2026Regular Registration Fee: $875Full payment is due by June 26, 2026Deposit: $350 holds your spaceRich’s Links:Brothers on the Road Less Traveled (aka Brothers Road)Journey Into ManhoodA Woman Who LovesA New ManEmail: [email protected]: 434-227-9346More about the panelists:Previous podcast interviews with Doug & Mark (links to Spotify & YouTube (audio-only); contact info is within the show notes of each episode): Episode 17 - Live interview with Dr Douglas Carpenter (Spotify | YouTube)Episode 55 - Live Interview with Dr. Mark Barber (Spotify | YouTube)Links Mentioned:Man in the Arena Speech - Theodore Roosevelt (World Future Fund)MenHealing.org - has healing weekends across the country for Male Survivors & moreSecret Shame: A Survivor's Guide To Understanding Male Sexual Abuse And Male Sexual Development - book by Dr. Doug Carpenter (Amazon)Secret Shame Workbook - by Dr. Doug Carpenter (Amazon)The Body Keeps the Score - by Bessel van der Kolk (Amazon)Wikipedia: (Superhero) Power PosingMike Chapman’s links:Husband Material Ministries (“HM”/”HMM”; faith-based ministry helping men find freedom from pornography and other sexual brokenness issues) FREEInfo on Joining Husband Materials Academy (“HMA”; Paid)Learn more about Husband Material's CSA Survivor Fellowship (led by Mike) and the PLC Chat on WhatsAppMike’s WebsiteSchedule a free 30-minute Coaching Intro call with MikeMike’s StoryIf you would like to join us for future LIVE podcast events, learn more at: PolarLifeConsulting.com/livePlease Note: The views and opinions expressed by guests of this podcast are their own, and their appearance on the program does not imply an endorsement of them, their beliefs, or any entity they represent, by neither Mike Chapman nor Polar Life Consulting.**Trigger Warning/Explicit Content Warning** - we will talk openly and frankly about sexual abuse from the victim's perspective. 90 - 🎥 Interview with Brandon Andres Green - Part 2

Brandon Andres Green is a survivor, advocate, and faith-driven leader whose life was shaped by contrast — a polished public world and a hidden one beneath it. Raised in a loving Christian community, Brandon simultaneously carried the weight of childhood sexual trauma, mental health struggles, addiction, and an early drive toward entrepreneurship that drew him into the black-market underworld.Long before sex trafficking was widely understood, he was surviving it — living two lives at once until the cost became unsustainable. Today, as a husband and father, Brandon speaks openly about male trafficking, survival psychology, and the hidden paths that lead victims into exploitation. He now works internationally, teaching and ministering to hundreds still bound in modern slavery, and supporting victims of sex and labor trafficking across Africa and Asia.If you want to see the VIDEO 🎥 version of this podcast, you can watch from either Spotify or Youtube.Brandon’s Links:WebsiteFacebookYouTubeLink to Brandon’s YT Playlist showing the many Youtube videos about his painful story of being kidnapped and trafficked and left for dead.Previous HFMSwMC podcast episodes mentioned:  Episode 57 - Forgiveness - Part 1 - James Gianakon’s podcast (Spotify)Episode 58 - Forgiveness - Part 2 - Panel Discussion - LIVE (Spotify)Mike Chapman’s links:Husband Material Ministries (“HM”/”HMM”; faith-based ministry helping men find freedom from pornography and other sexual brokenness issues) FREEInfo on Joining Husband Materials Academy (“HMA”; Paid)Learn more about Husband Material's CSA Survivor Fellowship (led by Mike) and the PLC Chat on WhatsAppMike’s WebsiteSchedule a free 30-minute Coaching Intro call with MikeMike’s StoryIf you would like to join us for future LIVE podcast events, learn more at: PolarLifeConsulting.com/livePlease Note: The views and opinions expressed by guests of this podcast are their own, and their appearance on the program does not imply an endorsement of them, their beliefs, or any entity they represent, by neither Mike Chapman nor Polar Life Consulting.**Trigger Warning/Explicit Content Warning** - we will talk openly and frankly about sexual abuse from the victim's perspective. In January 9th of this year (2026), Emmy-Award-winning actor Timothy Busfield (Field of Dreams, thirtysomething, The West Wing), husband of actor Melissa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie) had an arrest warrant issued on allegations of child sex abuse involving 11-year-old twin boys on a TV production set in 2024 by New Mexico police.I am not going to discuss the merits of this case; instead, I want to talk about how the Hollywood Community has responded – in negative and positive ways – and what we can learn from it.If you want to see the VIDEO 🎥 version of this podcast, you can watch from either Spotify or Youtube.Links Mentioned:Timothy Busfield links/articles“Missing actor Timothy Busfield admitted it is ‘highly likely’ he touched kids on set amid child sex abuse probe, warrant reveals” (New York Post)”“Timothy Busfield and Melissa Gilbert: A complete relationship timeline” (New York Post)“Timothy Busfield Enters No Plea In First Court Appearance On Child Sex Abuse Charges” (Deadline)“Timothy Busfield's wife Melissa Gilbert, Thirtysomething costars offer 75 letters of support amid sex abuse claims” (Entertainment Weekly)“Melissa Gilbert’s Lifestyle Brand Issues Statement Amid Husband Timothy Busfield’s Child Sex Abuse Claims” (Us Weekly via Yahoo News)Modern Prairie Instagram Post Brian Peck/Drake Bell articlesQuiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV (links to Max in the US)“Drake Bell details 'extensive' sexual abuse as child star by Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck”“Rehab Helped Drake Bell Overcome Abuse & Find His Voice” (Mayim Bialik's Breakdown podcast)“Breaking Free: Drake Bell Talks Trauma and His Truth” (The Man Enough Podcast)“Full interview: Drake Bell reflects on the aftermath of ‘Quiet on Set’ in TODAY exclusive” (The Today Show)Mike Chapman’s links:Husband Material Ministries (“HM”/”HMM”; faith-based ministry helping men find freedom from pornography and other sexual brokenness issues) FREEInfo on Joining Husband Materials Academy (“HMA”; Paid)Learn more about Husband Material's CSA Survivor Fellowship (led by Mike) and the PLC Chat on WhatsAppMike’s WebsiteSchedule a free 30-minute Coaching Intro call with MikeMike’s StoryIf you would like to join us for future LIVE podcast events, learn more at: PolarLifeConsulting.com/live**Trigger Warning/Explicit Content Warning** - we will talk openly and frankly about sexual abuse from the victim's perspective. 86 - 🎥 What is Brainspotting?

Today I wanted to talk about Brainspotting. I am a trained Brainspotting provider as part of my Life Coaching practice. To help you understand what Brainspotting is, I have included a recent training that Drew Boa provided with a recent Husband Material Conference (The Porn-Free Man) about Brainspotting. He describes the entire process from a Christian faith-based perspective, and how this treatment based on modern brain science does not contradict traditional biblical teachings. The training includes an actual pre-recorded demonstration (about 20 min.) of a Brainspotting session with ME in the hot seat. The training concludes with a 10 min. debrief with me and Drew about the session. If you want to see the VIDEO 🎥 version of this podcast, you can watch from either Spotify or Youtube.Links Mentioned:Husband Material Podcast with Drew Boa (Spotify | Youtube)Experience Healing Through Brainspotting (with Dr. David Grand) (Spotify | Youtube)Brainspotting: The Revolutionary New Therapy for Rapid and Effective Change by David Grand, PhD (Amazon)Mike Chapman’s links:Husband Material Ministries (“HM”/”HMM”; faith-based ministry helping men find freedom from pornography and other sexual brokenness issues) FREEInfo on Joining Husband Materials Academy (“HMA”; Paid)Learn more about Husband Material's CSA Survivor Fellowship (led by Mike) and the PLC Chat on WhatsAppMike’s WebsiteSchedule a free 30-minute Coaching Intro call with MikeMike’s StoryIf you would like to join us for future LIVE podcast events, learn more at: PolarLifeConsulting.com/livePlease Note: The views and opinions expressed by guests of this podcast are their own, and their appearance on the program does not imply an endorsement of them, their beliefs, or any entity they represent, by neither Mike Chapman nor Polar Life Consulting.**Trigger Warning/Explicit Content Warning** - we will talk openly and frankly about sexual abuse from the victim's perspective. 83 - 🎥 Interview with Dave Lukins

Dave is a 40-something father of twins who grew up in southern New South Wales, Australia. He is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, which began at age 7 and continued between ages 11 and 13. After carrying this trauma in silence for over 32 years, he first disclosed it just over two years ago. Since then, Dave has been on a rollercoaster of a healing journey, recently receiving a diagnosis of Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) and learning what that means for his mental, emotional, and relational wellbeing. This journey has involved confronting painful memories, reclaiming his story by returning to his childhood hometown, and rebuilding trust and safety in his life. Part of Dave’s healing has also involved reclaiming back both his mind and physical body - through fitness, healthier eating, and connecting with supportive male communities. For the first time, he has experienced genuine safety and brotherhood through survivor groups, men’s retreats, and close friendships, and he now mentors younger men navigating similar journeys. Alongside his personal healing, Dave has recently stepped into child safety advocacy, collaborating with other survivors of childhood sexual abuse to advise various university research projects focused on safeguarding and abuse prevention within educational environments and community sport. Through sharing his story and contributing to meaningful change, he hopes to give voice, encouragement, and hope to others on their own healing journey. If you want to see the VIDEO 🎥 version of this podcast, you can watch from either Spotify or Youtube.Suicide is talked about in this episode. The Audio from the episode was used on *This* podcast for episodes 5, 6 & 7. This time I am making 1 long (almost 2 hour!) video of the event.  The event was the result of efforts by myself, Drew Boa, Dr. Doug Carpenter, with many contributions from Survivors within the Husband Material Community who submitted poetry and other items to be shared, some live, some previously recorded and some read by others. There was also a time for Questions and Answers by the live Zoom audience. 64 - Live Interview with Kyle Drossel

Kyle Drossel is a 31-year-old man who has been through a lot. He recently found his way back to God, and that has helped him feel more at peace. He likes to spend his free time hiking and running, which helps him clear his head. But Kyle still struggles with relationships because of something that happened to him when he was 13. The assistant fire chief of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, someone he trusted, sexually assaulted him. This experience led Kyle down a bad path of using drugs and alcohol, but he's happy to say that he's sober now. He wants to help others who have gone through similar things, so he started a group called "Breaking the Silence." Kyle's goal is to help men feel comfortable talking about their problems and getting help. He hopes that by sharing his story, he can inspire others to do the same and create a community where men can support each other. Kyle also wants to spread awareness about the dangers of turning to drugs and alcohol as a way to cope with trauma, and he hopes that his story can help prevent others from going down the same path he did.Contact info for Kyle:FacebookFacebook Group: “Breaking the Silence”Other Links Mentioned:Article on Family Circus and the “Dotted Line” (NPR)Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County Previous HFMSwMC podcast episode mentioned (links to Spotify):  Episode 47 - Three Word Challenge Update & The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Case UpdateEpisode 63 - Update on the Menéndez case & my recent Charlotte interviewOther Helpful Links:MaleSurvivor.org - has an on-ine discussion board for survivors & moreMenHealing.org - non-religious healing weekends across the US for Male CSA Survivors & moreMike Chapman’s links:Husband Material Ministries (“HM”/”HMM”; faith-based ministry helping men find freedom from pornography and other sexual brokenness issues) FREEInfo on Joining Husband Materials Academy (“HMA”; Paid)Learn more about Husband Material's CSA Survivor Fellowship (led by Mike) and the PLC Chat on WhatsAppMike’s WebsiteSchedule a free 30-minute Coaching Intro call with MikeMike’s StoryIf you would like to join us for future LIVE podcast events, learn more at: PolarLifeConsulting.com/livePlease Note: The views and opinions expressed by guests of this podcast are their own, and their appearance on the program does not imply an endorsement of them, their beliefs, or any entity they represent, by neither Mike Chapman nor Polar Life Consulting.**Trigger Warning/Explicit Content Warning** - we will talk openly and frankly about sexual abuse from the victim's perspective.
