In today’s episode of Life Unleashed, we talk about our NICU experience. When we were preparing for Callan’s birth we never expected that we would have to deal with him going to the NICU. We had mentally prepared for many other scenarios, mainly having to do with the birth but for some reason, the NICU didn’t cross our mind. We want to share our experience in the hopes of helping someone who might end up in the same situation. After going through this experience we found that the best thing you can do is to not worry too much about all the what ifs or worst things because ultimately anything can happen but rather be prepared and know they are possibilities while not living in fear. Bringing a child into the world is an amazing experience and shouldn’t be clouded by fear. We found a lot of peace listening to other's stories before our own birth experience and therefore want to share our own in the hopes that it gives someone the same peace we found. So much of the anxiety and fear comes from the unknown and the more you know the better prepared you are. With that said, let’s jump into another episode of Life Unleashed. Running a business is a full-time job and so is taking care of a newborn. The question is how in the world do we balance it all? Well in today’s episode of Life Unleashed, we’re talking all about how we strike the balance between the two. As parents, we often feel torn between competing tasks, taking care of Callan, and running our business. To say the least, it has been difficult figuring out the balance and coming up with a schedule that works for our whole family. However, life is often about trade offs and right now we are leaning into the joy of having a newborn. Fortunately, we have figured out a way to make the most out of our “free time” (mainly when Callan is napping) to squeeze in as much work as possible. We have also had to step up our communication and teamwork as a couple. For now, things seem to be working well but if we have learned anything as new parents it is that our “prefect” schedule is likely to change tomorrow.
