I will share Part 2 of our  BLACK HISTORY MOMENT from Miami, Dade County, Florida.  I had an opportunity to visit Miami, Florida.  My family and I met up with a cousin who escorted us to see all three of our aunts, my husband's mother's sisters, and the last living uncle.  Uncle Marshall Banks will be eighty -six years old on his next birthday.  This is Part 2 of our  Black History Moment.  As we reflect on where the Lord has brought us as a people joy fills the atmosphere’  Psalm twenty -three comes to mind. “ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.  The blessings and good things in life are enjoyed only because of God.  Time and time again we have faced hard times, but God was always there.  Don’t stop looking to God He has proved Himself to be God.  The GRACE of God is AMAZING just like the songwriter penned many years ago.  It will not matter how it has been His GRACE is still AMAZING. My house shall be called the house of prayer; serves as a guiding light for our discussion on the significance of prayer in the home. DESCRIPTION: Today Podcast is a powerful reminder of the significance of prayer in your home. As Joshua declared in the twenty-fourth chapter and the latter clause of verse 15, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Many of us came from homes where there was some type of prayer, but it was in various forms. The scripture tells us to pray without ceasing. This is not the time to stop prayer in the home. Prayers nurture the legacy of faith, a legacy that has been passed down from generation to generation, connecting us all in a larger spiritual community. SCRIPTURE: NUMBERS 23:19 KING JAMES VERSION SCRIPTURE TEXT:  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?   DESCRIPTION: We are here with encouragement for you today, “ IT ONLY TAKES A MOMENT!”  In my lifetime, I had many people make me promises.  Some of which came to pass and there are some that I am still waiting for.  I must say some promises may not ever come to pass due to intent.  The God who makes promises to us will never disappoint us.  He can not lie.  He keeps all His promises.  I want to focus on the God that I serve He can not lie.  In the scriptures, David says I have been young, but now I am old and I have never seen the righteous forsaken.  There are times when I say what King David said, I was young and now I am old and I come to realize that my God can not lie.  There are people and things that individuals have made to be their God; only to find out when they needed them the most there was no response.  When we turn to God and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we find Him to be a REAL PROMISE KEEPER.  Learning to trust Him can be the biggest challenge that you may face as a believer.  Once you grow and get stronger you too will say, “ I SERVE A GOD WHO CAN NOT LIE!”  This Mary Whitby with a MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT.  “IT ONLY TAKES A MOMENT!”

There are some major decisions that we must make each day; one of them is to serve God or not to serve. As we look in the Book of Joshua, He is talking to the children of Israel about choosing and making a decision to serve the TRUE AND LIVING GOD. The people needed to make their own decisions. The choice was simple for Joshua because he had seen the handy work of God and the benefits of serving him. God is the same God that placed the tree in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were given a choice to obey or disobey. He wants a meaningful loving relationship with us. It is simple, you have a choice well be reminded that God is a jealous God and we should have no other god before Him. So choose wisely. “IT ONLY TAKE A MOMENT” PODCAST EPISODE # 13 TOPIC: “THE GUARANTEE IS IN HIS NAME ” SCRIPTURE TEXT: The Lord tells us in Isaiah 55:10–11  DESCRIPTION:  This podcast today is to encourage you to believe every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.  The Word of God gives us life.  What are you asking God to do for you?  Do you believe what God said in His that He would do?  We will look at Isaiah 55:10-11 in this lesson.   Each year we see the fulfillment of this verse.  I will mention other scriptures that you are familiar with as well.  Stay tuned it will only take a moment.   TRANSCRIPT:  The Bible begins with Genesis chapter one; God uses His Word to speak things into existence.   He said, “LET THERE BE!” The Awesome creation of our heavenly father was manifested again and again.  St. John chapter one focuses on God being the Word.  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was true in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.   The Name of God has a Guarantee, whatever He said came to pass, Isaiah chapter fifty-five verse ten and eleven give us a clear picture.   The Lord tells us in Isaiah 55:10–11, “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven . . . so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”  God accomplishes things in our life by His Word.  He is His Word,  Just like the snow melts and the rainfall they both waters the ground and seeds grow to produce a harvest.  God gave us a guarantee: So shall my Word be that goes out from my mouth, it shall achieve or give the results desired.  There are more than three- thousand promises in the word of God.  Each promise has His name attached to it with a guarantee.  A Guarantee provides a formal assurance or promise, especially that certain conditions shall be fulfilled relating to a product, service, or transaction.   What are you believing God to do you?  We are to pray, speak, and declare His Word. If we had an illness and went to the doctor they would give us a prescription along with instructions.  If we desire to get better we will follow their instructions.  So I ask you which situation you want God to resolve.   Here is your prescription.  It is three scriptures.  Look these verses up and write them on your paper.  You want to read them three times a day.  Do you want results?  Be diligent, steadfast, and disciplined.  Three times a day repeat this for seven days.  This is just a start.  As you continue day after day you will begin to catch a hold of faith and expectation will show up and joy will enter your heart.  You’ll get strong like the woman with the issue of blood who pushed her way through the crowd to get to Jesus so that she might receive her healing.  James chapter five tells us about Elias who prayed honestly and shut up heaven and no rain fell for three years and six months.  The Word of God is His Name.  He watches over His Word to perform it.    His Word will not return void   It accomplishes what He sent it to do.  HIS NAME IS HIS GUARANTEE!  THIS IS MARY WHITBY WITH A MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT.  “IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MOMENT! MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT “IT ONLY TAKE A MOMENT” PODCAST EPISODE # 12 TOPIC: “ THE LORD SHALL PRESERVE THEE” SCRIPTURE   TEXT: PSALMS 121 DESCRIPTION:  This podcast is designed to bring us comfort to trust in the Lord.  When difficulties and dangers seem so great and cause you to feel low.  The psalmist says,” I will lift mine eyes from where my help cometh from.   We have been taught that the Lord is high and lifted.  God is almighty in wisdom and almighty in power that He makes all things work for God to those who love Him.  We put our hope in God every day from the beginning until the end.  The ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIRST PSALMS is used to teach us that we can trust the Lord.  He preserves us, He keeps us, He loves us, and we can depend on him.  Lord, we stand in need, Contend for us Lord.   TRANSCRIPT: For many years we have read this ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIRST PSALMS.  David King of Israel wrote most of the Psalms.  King David trusted in God's protection and guidance.  I want to encourage you to do as the psalmist, LIFT YOUR HEAD!  Looking to a higher place.  A place of hope, strength, and help.  That is the place where God dwells.  Above every circumstance, any troubles and all danger.   The Lord Shall Preserve Thee! The Lord is the maker of the heavens and the earth.   When we look up at the natural world what we see is sky, clouds, sun, moon, and stars.  Beyond that, we believe there is where God resides.  The scriptures tell us to set our affections on things above.  As believers that is our faith.  Moth and corruption can not touch our God or any of the promises that He has made us.  We have that BLESSED HOPE! The enemy of our soul takes pleasure in assaulting us and making accusations against our God creating doubt in our minds.  Experiencing loss is not something that we want to endure.  The Lord will not slumber.  Nothing is happening that our God is not aware of.  The sun and the moon are aware of their boundaries.  The human side of us tends to forget the Power of God.  The Lord Shall Preserve Thee! Our help cometh from the Lord.  It continues to flow usward. This psalm expresses confidence in God's constant presence and protection, reminding us that God will guard us from all harm and watch over our lives.  You and I can not declare it enough.  Speak it daily.  The Lord is my Help!  Even when the clouds are dark and the sky is gray remember God is above all of that.  Trust in the Lord and don’t lean on your understanding.  Zephaniah chapter 3 and verse seventeen says, The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” The Word of God comes to empower us to be bold and courageous enough to bind and rebuke Satan.  For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.  The Glory of God is revealed in us and it is through our lives that His Glory is revealed.  And others believe in the power of God.  I have had to lift my head out of a low place of shame, sickness, and guilt.  I am a testimony of the deliverance power.  Countless times I have declared,  “MY HELP COMETH FROM THE LORD!”   And it came to pass.    This is Mary Whitby with a MARY L WHITY TEACHING MOMENT.  Thank you for sharing this podcast.   

PODCAST EPISODE # 11 TOPIC: “THE LORD IS WITH US!” SCRIPTURE TEXT: PSALMS 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. DESCRIPTION: In today’s episode of the MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT, I want to share a few of my favorite bible verses that have kept me in the midst. Challenges.  It is so comforting to know that God is with you.  Scriptures that were written afore time are testimonies to give us strength and courage to face, mountains and giants.  Your situration is no surpise to God.  Remember to thank God for His grace and mercy that is there for us no matter what. TRANSCRIPT:  “THE LORD IS WITH US,” is just where I want to start reminding you that we are not alone.  There are times when our emotions can get the best of us, causing us to worry and fear.  The Word of God in Romans chapter twelve and verse two says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  I want to focus on “but be ye transformed.  To be transformed is to change a thing into a different thing. transform implies a major change in form, nature, or function. Each day God gives us new mercy to carry us through the day.  He has given us promises from His Word.  The things that He promised don’t look anything like what we are experiencing.  It is not matching at all.  That is where faith, believing, and trusting comes into play. I keep a copy of The Bible Promise Book handy so that I will keep sight of what things should look like.  Stay armed and ready at all times.  Don’t forget you do have an enemy, one who cares nothing about blindsiding you.  Be sober and vigilant at all times.  The first scripture  I want to encourage you to be transformed with is Psalms twenty - three and verse four:  nothing can be scarier than to enter into a place called a valley of the shadow of death.  I think of a low place surrounded by tall structures with no way of escape.  Sorry, but can hear and see evil maybe I have been exposed to scary movies and trauma has already entered my life even in the womb maybe.  How do I not fear?  Okay Great God, Your turn to transform me.  My mind needs renewing.  I mentioned being scared.  When I am scared I become confused, and I feel discouraged. I feel helpless and insignificant.  What in the world I am to do?  At this point, I get a news flash.  I am with you!  My next response is Where?  The last time I was told that someone would be with me.  No one showed up.  That has been stored in my memory.  You are on your own get out the best way that you can.  So much for my efforts.  I felt trapped.  Where are you, God? I was even more emotional.  How can I be comforted?  Let’s go back to the Word I will fear no evil, for you are with me; repeat this one: I will fear no evil, for you are with me.  Where is the Lord?  He is with you.  What else did the scripture say?  your rod and your staff, they comfort me.  Not only is He with me; His rod which is His authority, power, discipline, and defense of his people, the staff represents all that is longsuffering and kind. Love is kind and suffers a long it goes all the way with you.  The more that you recall the power of God’s Word over your life you are calling on God to prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  The shepherd is with the sheep.  You are never alone.  Isaiah forty-one and verse ten says, “ Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  You can count on God.  Remember the RIGHT HAND IS A REMINDER OF HIS AUTHORITY. Then you will see Him in His Glory.  Opening up over your head a window in the valley, so that you can see Him guiding you through that deep dark valley.  Thank you for joining me today with this

TRANSCRIPT: Maybe your new year has gotten off to a rocky start.  I want to encourage you in this podcast not to faint. Whatever you are going through is for a season even though it may seem like forever.  “IT IS NOT EASY, BUT IT IS WORTH IT ”  The season will end as soon as you get the message.  God is developing your character,  He has decided that it is time for you to shift to another level.  There are times when things seem difficult and we can be easily discouraged.  This would be a great time to worship, pray, read, fast, and even fellowship.  Don’t forget to listen to my podcast.  The Gospel Messages of Jesus were left on record to build us up in the faith.  As I share scripture with you starting with St, John the sixteenth chapter and the thirty-third verse says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”  Remember the flesh is at war against the spirit all day every day, even when you are asleep.  Satan seeks for way to gain strength and victory over the believer by creating panic, fear, anxiety, and doubt.  He has many names besides Lucifer, he may be referred to as the Prince of Darkness, Beelzebub, Mephistopheles, Baphomet, Lord of the Flies, the Antichrist, Father of Lies, Moloch or simply Satan.  In the world, ye shall have tribulation. Simply put, you will face situations that may tempt God’s Word or even cause doubt, which produces fear caused by great troubles.  You may ask yourself, is this worth it?  I want to build you up by reminding you that Christ, our Savior, left on record saying,” I have overcome the world, as he encourages us to be of good cheer.  I say to you be of GOOD CHEER, Jesus sent back the power to leave in us.  Christ in you the hope of Glory, the Fruit of the Spirit, His Power, His Weapons, His Armor, and much, much more.  We are equipped to engage in any warfare and come out in victory.  Christ is our example, He reminds us that in Him we shall have peace.  The peace that Christ gives is not to be compared to that of the world.  His peace passes all understanding.  It gives us comfort to know that God can and God will.  We can rest in knowing that we asked, He hears and He answers.  The only thing to do is to Be of Good Cheer and rejoice because it will be a matter of time before you will be saying, “ IT CAME PASS, IT WAS TRULY WORTH IT.  This is Mary Whitby with a MARY L WHITBY MOMENT.

MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT “IT ONLY TAKE A MOMENT” PODCAST EPISODE # 9 TOPIC: “IT WILL WORK OUT FOR YOU!” SCRIPTURE TEXT: HEBREWS 6:10- For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. DESCRIPTION: The Podcast today is to reassure you the believer that God will come through for you.  When things don’t seem to be working out.  The Word of God will build you up and give you the strength to wait on God.  The joy of knowing God and hearing the many testimonies of other believers refreshes me and gives me hope.   the more I read Romans 15:4  I anticipate learning more and more from the things that were written.  Our scripture text is Hebrews chapter six and verse ten is full of hope. It says, “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. God is a just God and He sees all and remembers every one of His promises. Things will work out for you.  If we the believers would stand fast to the Words that He promises we would experience a greater level of anointing. The ministry journey can be long and become stressful while you are waiting for the manifestation of God; remember God is faithful and He is at work.  He honors His Words.  This is a MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT.  “IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MOMENT!” God has called you to minister to the lost and the needy.  The mission of intercession and standing in the gap is not for the faint-hearted.  There are times when what you are doing in the kingdom of God may go unnoticed, no matter how much time and effort you have put into your task.    Often we are tempted to give up saying what is the use.  God has people assigned to us to stay in contact so that we will be built up in the faith.  Our scripture text from Hebrews the sixth chapter and verse ten is another reminder of our savoir and what He promised us.  “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.  Whatever we do God remembers.   As we labour it is done through love and by faith in God.  God honors our trust in the invisible God.  The Lord speaks and we respond by doing what He says.  Many times not sure of the results.      Paul continued to encourage the saints in Thessalonica with these: We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.  First Corinthians fifteen and verse fifty- eight King James Version (KJV)Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not vain in the Lord.  As we remain steadfast and unmoveable in the faith God will work things out for us.  Believing God to fulfill His Word will strengthen your faith.  Minister to those in your path daily and God will in turn minister to your need.  This is a MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT.  “IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MOMENT!”

Whatever you have asked God to do in your life, believe, and ye shall receive.    Just give thanks to Him and bless His name.  You and your family are in our prayers.  This is a MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT.  “IT WILL TAKE A MOMENT!”     Hello, this is Mary Whitby with a MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!   As I greet you in this new year we get a fresh start with our Faith Journey.  I believe God has great things in store for you and me along with our families.      This scripture uses the word all to help us determine how many of the promises we want God to fulfill.  So I ask you the question how many of God’s promises, DO YOU EXPECT HIM TO FULFILL IN YOUR LIFE? I am expecting every promise to come to pass.  There are more than 7000 promises in the Word of God you and I can count on God to answer every one of them.  When you are aware of what  God has promised, you do not have to worry.  Start this year learning the promises from God’s Word then when you pray you can remind God of His Word. Joshua in the twenty-first chapter and verse forty-five says, “Not one of the good promises which the LORD had made to the house of Israel failed; everything came to pass, “ NASB version.        Exodus the fourteenth chapter allows us to see  Moses leading the children of Israel out of Egypt for them to find themselves facing the Red Sea.  Where is God?  He is right there watching.   God is about to show out and rescue His children.  The children of Israel were afraid, but Moses was right there with encouragement telling them that God would fight for them.  He followed God’s commands.  The Lord said in verse eighteen: And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord.  The rest is history.  Today we enjoy reading the manifestations of God’s promises as we read Bibles and other Godly literature.   Verse thirty and thirty-one  Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.  And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.   You and I can depend on God to keep every promise that He has made to us from His Word.  There are debates as to whether all of His promises are for us.  Romans the ninth chapter and verses six through eight reveal the sovereignty of God.  Remember Christ died for us to give right to every promise of His Word.  So get acquainted with the promises, believe the promise, and then give God back every one of His promises that you want to be fulfilled in your life.  This is  Mary Whitby with a MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT    " IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MOMENT"  Thank you for joining this podcast today.              To get started let us confess our faith in God using Luke 1:37 ESV “For nothing will be impossible with God.”  Amen in this year 2024, Nothing is Impossible with God!  God is faithful to His Word.   Our scripture text 2 Corinthians 1:20 is one that I keep in my memory.  2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
