Shamica had to navigate motherhood as a teen mom, who wasn’t sure she would even make it to high school graduation. Today, she is not only a high school graduate, but a certified doula, businessowner, homeowner and birthing advocate in her New Haven community. In this episode, she shares some phenomenal stories about each of her own births, the 17 births that she was able to be a part of through her own business and her experience of advocating for birthing mothers during COVID – though her business officially started just one day before “the world shut down”. Shemica's story highlights the importance of giving oneself grace in parenting, and encourages others to embrace their journeys and keep pushing forward. Learn the great work she is doing in the community and see how you can support her cause in this episode, “Grit & Grind”. A Happy Mom & Her Children w/ Special Guest T'Keya Ann Corbin
A perfect family. Does it exist? To this mom, a perfect family IS a happy mom and her kids. In this moving episode of Nailed It Motherhood, we’re joined by a courageous mother who opens up about her journey through life’s wilderness—not once, but twice—and how those challenging seasons ultimately led her to purpose, peace, and a new definition of family. After finding herself in relationships that didn’t align with the path God had for her, she was forced to slow down, be still, and listen. Living in her grandmother’s bustling home after the birth of her son, she began journaling her way through pain—and discovered the voice of God in the quiet. That obedience birthed her first book, "Walk With Purpose, Not On Purpose." In her words: “Just because the circumstances aren't ideal doesn’t mean your baby doesn’t desire life on this earth.”Now, she is thriving as a mother, author, and mentor to young girls—teaching them to love themselves and trust their journey. This episode is a powerful reminder that healing is possible, peace is attainable, and sometimes, the perfect family is the one you create—just you and your kids.Tune in for a conversation filled with faith, growth, purpose, and the strength of a truly happy mom.Connect with T'Keya AnnFacebookInstagramwww.tkeyaann.orgPurchase her book: Walk with Purpose Not on Purpose: Transformation from Pain to Purpose 30 Day DevotionalSend us Fan MailSupport the showWe might have the recipe nobody wrote down!Shop Nailed It MotherhoodIf you'd like to share your story, sign up to be a guest here!Support Our Podcast by "Buying Me a Coffee".Join the Conversation and Subscribe to our Podcast:www.naileditmotherhood.comFollow us online:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nailed.it.motherhood.podcast/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/naileditmotherhood/is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pcPodcast CreditsHost & Producer: Tamara EldridgeMusic from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/moire/new-life License code: 8BJOM5NVSQEO1S7XRising Above (Short Version) BoDleasons https://pixabay.com/users/bodleasons-28047609/

Another Chance with Special Guest Lardina Coles
One year Lardina lost her mom. She finally began to heal and get to a place where she was ready to live and life changed abruptly for her and her husband. Her baby sister died just three months later and she and Steffon took custody of two of her young nieces. They had to learn each other. They had to learn grief again. They had to learn who they were in this new life. They had to learn to heal. Shutting down the house was the solution for Lardina. It was one way that she was able to gift a life of normalcy to her nieces while also finding normalcy with her family. They hurt together and they healed together, but they grew together, and are now in a place where they are able to help others who find themselves in similar situations. Lardina is a parent and a guardian, but she is a part of the ministry of pointing people to God through relationship and writing! In this episode, you can hear her heart and also share in the joy both our host and our guest felt by talking to each other.Stay connected with Lardina:The Empowered Woman BlogThe Empowered Woman FacebookRelationship Matters MinistriesSend us Fan MailSupport the showWe might have the recipe nobody wrote down!Shop Nailed It MotherhoodIf you'd like to share your story, sign up to be a guest here!Support Our Podcast by "Buying Me a Coffee".Join the Conversation and Subscribe to our Podcast:www.naileditmotherhood.comFollow us online:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nailed.it.motherhood.podcast/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/naileditmotherhood/is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pcPodcast CreditsHost & Producer: Tamara EldridgeMusic from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/moire/new-life License code: 8BJOM5NVSQEO1S7XRising Above (Short Version) BoDleasons https://pixabay.com/users/bodleasons-28047609/

Hakuna Matata with Special Guest Ronnell Perry
Ronnell Perry got pregnant her junior year in high school. She was able to hide her pregnancy from several people until she was about 7 or 8 months pregnant - including her family. Thankfully, her family embraced their new miracle and helped Ronnell take care of her daughter while she finished school. Having a desire to educate herself on raising her daughter lead her to the work in Early Childhood, where she was then able to be a role model for both parents and the babies that she worked with. Tamara and Ronnell share several laughs and new ideas while they talk about Ronnell's personal parenting journey. Though it went down a different path then they originally planned, it still shed light to some of the issues that occurred in Ronnell's parenting and highlighted some of the evolution of parenting. Live YOUR Story - With Special Guest Carolina Payne
Carolina is in her 30s and has celebrated some pretty amazing wins in 2023! But, not before mourning some losses in her life including losing one of her closest friends - whom she never thought she would be without. The news of a third child caused a riff in their friendship and they agreed that it was time to go separate ways, but that didn't stop her from chasing after a better life for her family - which she hunkered down on her spending, tackled her credit, and chased a promotion to do. Her busy life may be the glue keeping her together. In her interview, Carolina also considers the relationship that she wishes that she had with mom, the mental health of the black community and the fear of being overlooked for the good that she has done in her life. Through it all, she is boldly living her OWN story - despite the plans that others have had for her and we are here for it! DISCLAIMER: Audio Recording was clipped at the end and the last portion of the interview depended on the digital recording audio.
