S1 Ep 18 - What is Biblical meditation

What do you think of when you hear the word "Meditate"?  Did you know that the Bible says Christians should meditate? Today I explain the differences between Biblical meditation and worldly meditation.  There is a huge difference and the Bible lays it out pretty clearly.  There are over 45 different verses that tell us we should meditate so it is something that a Christian needs to understand.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

S1 Ep 17 - What about the Rapture

What do you know about the end times?  Will Christians be raptured out?  Is the word Rapture found in the Bible?  What does it mean?  Have you heard the terms pre-trib, mid-trib? Is all this confusing to you?  Don't worry.  The Bible actually has the answers and makes it pretty clear.  In this episode I discuss the most used verses for the views on the rapture and break down what they really mean.  Remember that Christians must always preach what the Bible actually says and not what we want it to say.Tip: The Rapture is an extra-Biblical concept.  Many people misuse the most frequent "rapture" verses and most often do not read the verses before and after which clearly give the timelines for when things happen.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

    S1 Ep 16 - Judgmental Christians

How many times have you heard, "Don't judge me"?  or "Christians shouldn't judge people"? or something similar? This episode delves into the verses that people get this idea from.  Matthew 7 starts off with "Judge not, that ye be not judged" but people seldom go to the next verse.  Today we do.  I'll explain the context of that statement and the things people so often get wrong about judgement. The world and the Church both miss a few things here.  It is very important to understand who Christians are supposed to judge, when they have a right to judge, and how we should go about judging.  Do Christians, a lot of the time, give ourselves a bad rap because we judge people to often?  Yes.  Do Christians fail to judge righteously many times merely out of fear that we will be called judgemental?  Also yes. Please click play, and let me know what you think.  I would love to hear from you at [email protected] for listening and God bless you,Pastor StevenBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

    S1 Ep 14 - Ukraine and Russia

So there is yet another war that the news says we need to be concerned with.  Ukraine and Russia. They have all the facts and they know what you should believe about it and who you should support.  But as a Christian, what should be your role?  Do you have a responsibility?   How do you balance your daily life with this war that is happening around the world?  How does it affect you?  This episode lays out in pretty simple terms what our role should be as a Christian.  I also share some facts that the news has purposefully overlooked.  Remember, to search for truth, don't blindly believe everything you hear.  Jesus Christ came to save the world, not just Americans, so make sure to think of spiritual things and not get too caught up in "wars and rumors of wars".Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

S1 Ep 13 - Can women be Pastors

What does the Bible say?   Not, what does society say, or what feels right.  The question really should be, what are the qualifications for a Pastor according to GOD?The answer may surprise you.  Always compare scripture with scripture.  It would be wrong to ignore the Old Testament women as well as the women that Paul himself lifts up to the church in the New Testament.  Some would even point to the women in Jesus' life that he clearly thought well of.  This episode delves into it without fear, plainly explaining what the Bible says about spiritual gifts, equality of the sexes, and the specific qualifications to be a Pastor in God's church.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

S1 Ep 12 - Should a Christian join the military

What does the Bible say about soldiers?  The commandment to not kill actually refers to the word murder, which is unjustified killing.  A soldier should never murder people just like any other person should not.  When someone is shooting at you (trying to kill you in some way) and your fellow soldiers, it is not murder to fight back, to even strike first to save your life.  At the point of actual combat it becomes self defense, because if you did nothing then you and your soldiers would be killed.  If you are in a just war (actually fighting for something good like freedom) then it is justified on both the self defense and the cause.  This episode goes into the actual scriptures that deal with this as well as "turning the other cheek".  The Bible does not contradict itself and even Jesus showed us and TOLD us what is the right thing to do.  This is a must listen for military members, their families, and those who feel the patriotic pull to join up!  Be confident in your faith and be proud of your decisions.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

S1 Ep 10 - Evolution and the Bible part 3 - Micro evolution

What is Micro Evolution?  Does the Bible support it?  Surprisingly, yes and no.  The term is faulty but the Bible clearly talks about changes within a "kind" or species that do not alter what kind of plant or animal it is.  Interesting to note, the Bible appears to explain breeding to bring out recessive genes/traits in at least two different animal species.  Also, the fossil record clearly shows a LACK of change within species.  As always, email me with questions at [email protected] and I will be glad to incorporate it into my next podcast.  I hope you enjoyed the science on this 3 part leap into Evolution and what the Bible actually says about it!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

S1 Ep 9 - Evolution and the Bible part 2 - Macro Evolution

Evolution explains how man came to be on this Earth, gradually developing over millions of years from one celled organisms to man.  This episode explains the hypocrisy, the known lies, and the scientific reasons to deny Evolution.  The Genesis account of how mankind came to be is briefly explained, and the reasons that this goes against Evolution.Keep in mind that true science has known facts, observable facts, evidence, and can be actually tested and repeated and observed.  People say "science" all the time when they are arguing for their beliefs.  Make sure that you do not fall for "science falsely so called" 1 Timothy 6:20.Please listen to episode 8 which is part 1 and stay tuned for part 3 on Feb 24th.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

    S1 Ep 8 - Evolution and the Bible part1

The Bible actually addresses the concept of Evolution.  It's a large topic so I have divided this into 3 episodes.  This first one addresses 6 day creation and whether or not that opposes the concept of Evolution.  How long is a creation Day?  Believe it or not, the Bible is very detailed on this.  What about stars that are 100 million light years away? Doesn't that prove Evolution and long time spans?Check out this podcast with a very unique explanation at the end.  I am sure that you have never heard a pastor explain the miracle of creation day 4 in this manner!Enjoy!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

S1 Ep 7 - The whole Bible is true

Christians must follow the WHOLE Bible and not pick and choose what parts to believe.  (See Episode 3 for a definition of the whole Bible, 66 books from Genesis to Revelations.)  When we hear of "Contradictions", or we hear a preacher say, "What it means to me" as if it could mean something else to you, or when we read something in the Bible that doesn't make sense; how do we respond?  Should Christians ignore that passage?  Discount it?  Choose not to believe it altogether?  Choose to interpret it ourselves and come up with a meaning for it?No.  Listen to this episode to gain an understanding as to what you should do to strengthen your faith when you read or hear about difficult passages in the Bible. As always, please email me at [email protected] for further explanation or insight.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

I am an ordained minister and I will issue Religious Exemptions.  The mandate has been recognized as unconstitutional by the United States Supreme Court.  If your employer is mandating the vaccine and you want to know why people are upset about it, this episode explains what the Bible says about it.  I give specific Bible verses and explain why the fake "vaccine" is wrong and give 6 logical arguments as to why a Christian can refuse it Biblically.  Please contact me at [email protected] for a vaccine religious exemption letter or for any clarification.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

  26. 23

    S1 Ep 5 - Alchohol and Christians pt 2

This completes episode 4 on Alcohol.  I explain 1 Corinthians 8 and how it relates to this topic.  While we know that drinking alcohol is NOT a sin, there are some very strong cautions in the Bible about not doing things even if we know they are okay.  Christianity is full of people who are broken, struggling, hurt, damaged, and fighting their own demons.  It is important to realize that we are not in this spiritual war alone and that is why we need to look out for our fellow man.  Jesus didn't hesitate to offend his enemies (the Publicans and other religious leaders of the day) because he was trying to expose the people to truth.  However, Jesus did not attempt to be "holier than thou" and show his followers that he was better than them.  Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

Is it okay for Christians to drink alcoholic beverages?  Yes it is.  We explore the cautions against alcohol as well as the reasons the Bible says you should drink.  Contrary to many Christian church teachings, drinking is not a sin.  Regardless of personal opinion, this pastor will always share what the Bible says about a topic.  It is always important to use specific Bible verses and you will hear about a dozen about alcohol although there are many more verses that cover this topic.  Listen and also tune in next time as this is a 2 part podcast on the topic.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.

S1 Ep 3 - How the 66 Books of the Bible were compiled

A quick explanation of how the Old Testament and New Testament came to be.  The Bible books weren't so much "chosen" as they were put together from what was universally taught in Christian churches.  The King James Version became the most precise translation, and still is to this day, due to the way it was translated from the original texts.  It is one of the few Bibles that did not use previous translations.  A copy of a copy of a copy is bound to have errors and this is why the King ordered original translations and had it go through a rigorous editing process by world renown scholars proficient in the original Greek and Hebrew languages. The Bible is God's Word, and as such, it has been perfectly preserved through the ages.  It matters.Revelations 22:18-19  "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reading-the-bible--6491289/support.
