You’re Thinking About Resilience All Wrong

So many women think resilience means pushing harder, staying positive, and carrying on no matter what. But that version of resilience often leads straight to burnout.In todays episode Shelley shares a different perspective. Real resilience is not about ignoring what you feel or forcing your way through hard seasons. It’s about leading yourself well when life feels uncertain, uncomfortable, or really dam heavy.If you’ve been stuck in pressure mode, constantly overriding yourself, this is the reset you may need. In this episode Shelley helps youNotice where you are pushing through when it’s costing youLearn the difference between reaction mode and true resilienceDecide how to support yourself and still move forward todayYou do not need to be stronger but you do need to  learn to lead yourself better.🔗 Connect With ShelleyIf this episode resonated, come and continue the conversation:InstagramFollow Shelley for straight-talking mindset insights and behind-the-scenes reflections👉 @‌shelleybosworth.official LinkedInConnect with Shelley for professional conversations around leadership, ambition and mindset👉 Shelley Bosworth🎙 About Your HostShelley Bosworth is a Dubai-based business and mindset coach, keynote speaker, and the host of The She Is Courageous Podcast.After a 25-year corporate career leading teams across major retail and hospitality brands, Shelley launched her coaching business to help ambitious women stop holding themselves back and start building the lives and businesses they actually want.Her work focuses on the psychology of ambition, helping capable women recognise the mindset patterns that keep them stuck in overthinking, self-doubt, or burnout, even when they’re doing everything “right.”Through coaching, speaking, and this podcast, Shelley challenges the belief that confidence has to come first.Because in reality, confidence is built through courageous action.🎤 Work With ShelleyShelley works with ambitious women, leaders, and organisations who want to unlock performance by understanding the mindset patterns behind behaviour and decision-making.Opportunities include:Keynote speakingCorporate workshops and leadership sessionsPrivate coachingFor speaking or collaboration enquiries:📩 [email protected]📢 Enjoyed This Episode?If this conversation helped shift your thinking:Follow the podcastLeave a reviewShare the episode with someone who needs to hear itYour support helps more women discover the courage to stop holding themselves back and start showing up fully in their work and lives.

The diagnosis. But you’re still stuck. In this episode, I’m exploring where self-awareness stops helping and starts holding you back. Because insight is powerful, but insight alone doesn’t change your life. Action does. This isn’t a call-out. Why You Break Habits (and How to Make Ones That Stick)

I'll say this now ... You’re not lazy. You’re probably not actually as inconsistent as you think either! But you are tired of starting things and not sticking to them.If you’ve ever berated yourself with the thought, “I know what I should do … so why don’t I just do it?” then this episode is for you.Habits shape your energy, your focus, your confidence and your results. Not motivation. Not big plans. Not a new notebook on a Monday morning. In this episode, I break down why habits really fail, and it’s not because you lack discipline. You have to have the courage to fail, even when no one is watching

It's not always that you’re not scared of failing in public. What if I said I think you’re more scared of what you’ll say to yourself if you don’t follow through. This episode is about the failure no one sees. The promises you make to yourself. The habit you said you’d build. The goal you swore this would be the year for. And then… you didn’t do it.Private failure hits differently. Not because others judge you. But because you judge yourself. And that slowly chips away at your self-trust.In this honest, straight-talking episode, I’m unpacking why letting yourself down feels so heavy, and how to rebuild trust without shame, perfection or dramatic reinvention. You’ll hear how to:Recognise when self-judgement is becoming your identityShift from shame to self-trust after you miss the markBuild courage through small, repeatable micro-commitmentsCourage isn’t in the big declarations. Annoying isn't it!In this episode, Shelley breaks down five common reasons you can be in constant motion but still feel stuck. Not because you’re lazy or doing it wrong, but because the way you’re moving might be driven by habit, fear, or other people’s expectations. This is a straight-talking conversation about awareness. About noticing the patterns that keep you busy but not fulfilled. And about why doing more isn’t the answer, choosing differently is.You’ll hear Shelley explore:How reacting instead of choosing keeps you stuckWhy external validation can and probably will drain your motivationThe difference between activity and true alignmentHow staying in the familiar can feel safe but hold you backWhy pausing might be the most courageous move you makeIf you’ve ever thought, “I’m doing everything I’m supposed to, so why am I not getting anywhere?” this episode will help you slow down, get honest, and reset your direction. If you recognised yourself in these patterns, take Shelley’s Self-Leadership Style Quiz. The Real Reason You Don't Trust Yourself Anymore

Do you keep saying you don’t know what you want, or that you don’t trust yourself to decide anymore? This episode offers a different truth. You haven’t lost your self-trust. You’ve been outsourcing it.Shelley breaks down how constant advice, expert opinions, mentors, algorithms and even AI can slowly drown out your own voice. What starts as being sensible and strategic turns into hesitation, overthinking, and delayed decisions, and that’s what really chips away at your confidence. This is an episode about what self-trust actually is, why it feels harder than ever to access, and how to rebuild it without affirmations, or pretending to be certain. You’ll hear why courage isn’t about making the “right” decision, it’s about being self-led, even without proof. In this episode, you’ll learn how to:Recognise where you’re giving your authority awaySpot the decisions you delay even though you already know the answerRebuild self-trust through small, practical actionsYou already know more than you think you do. Why Courage Still Comes Before Confidence, And Why It Matters More Than Ever Now

The world is louder than ever. More opinions. More advice. More polished confidence on display. And yet, so many truly capable women are still stuck, not because they don’t know what to do, but because they’re waiting to feel ready. In this first episode of 2026, I come back to the core of the She Is Courageous Podcast and revisits the truth that started it all: courage still comes before confidence, and it matters now more than ever.I unpack how confidence has become performative, how AI and social media blur identity and certainty, and why waiting for confidence is often the very thing keeping you still. This is as always one of those grounded, straight-talking reminders that clarity, self-trust and confidence are built through action, not before it.If you’ve been circling the same decisions, overthinking your next move, or questioning your instinct, this episode will bring you back to what actually creates momentum. You’ll hear how to:Recognise where you’re waiting to feel ready instead of movingSeparate real confidence from performance and approvalTake one small, courageous step that gives your brain new proofCourage isn’t about speed.       What happens when you go all in, even when everything seems stacked against you? This week, I’m joined by Gaynor Turner, founder of the online women’s boutique Above the Clouds, host of The Above the Clouds Podcast, and member of The She Is Courageous Collective. Gaynor shares how she built her business from scratch during lockdown — no tech skills, no funding, and plenty of hurdles along the way. Maybe It's Time To Move On And Let Go?

What are you still holding onto that you know deep down isn’t right for you anymore? Maybe it’s a business offer that drains you, a goal that no longer excites you, or even an outdated version of success you’re still chasing out of habit. In this episode of The She Is Courageous Podcast, we’re talking about the messy and uncomfortable truth of letting go. Why it feels so hard. Why fear, pride, and “what will they think” keep us clinging on. And why releasing what no longer fits isn’t failure, it’s probably the bravest move you can make. You’ll learn the questions I ask my clients (and myself) to get honest about what it’s really costing you to hold on. And you’ll hear why giving yourself permission to let go, just one small step at a time, creates the space for growth, alignment, and the version of success that actually lights you up. It’s not weakness. It’s not giving up. It’s courage. And it’s exactly what you need to move forward. 👉 Listen now and ask yourself: What’s one thing you’re ready to let go of this week? #60 What If It's Not Right Or Wrong, It's Just Different With Jessica Morari

What if change isn’t right or wrong, it’s just different? In this week’s guest episode, I sat down with my friend and fellow coach, Jessica, a life and career coach based in Dubai who helps people design their own definition of success. Together, we unpacked what it really means to live courageously, from leaving home countries and careers to giving yourself permission to change your mind. Jessica shares her story of moving from Italy to Spain to Dubai, the moment she realised traditional success didn’t feel like she thought it would, and how she now helps others strip back the layers and reconnect to what truly matters. This conversation is for any woman who’s ever wondered, “Is this it?”, anyone who’s hit the goals she thought she wanted, only to find herself craving something more real, more free, and more her. Because courage isn’t about having it all figured out,  it’s about trusting yourself enough to take the next step, even when it looks different than you imagined. Listen now and be reminded that you can rewrite your story, your way. #57 More Money, Same Stress: The Truth About Money Your Blocks

This week we're talking about money, the number one thing we all want more of and yet have so many challenges with. This isn't about making more in the traditional sense, its not about spreadsheets, tax returns, or “charge your worth" but it is about your money mindset, the stories you’ve been carrying around since childhood about what you’re allowed to have, what you can spend, and whether it’s “greedy” to want more. Because the truth is money blocks don’t care how much you earn, how smart you are, or how many mindset books you’ve read. They show up in the everyday choices, undercharging, avoiding your bank account, defaulting to the cheapest option even when you don’t need to.And I know because this is one I work on personally A LOT! In this episode, I share my own money stories (yes, including that awkward knot in my stomach when stating my prices) and break down how to start spotting and challenging yours. We are getting honest about why your money beliefs are less about pounds and pence and more about safety, identity, and old conditioning, and how to take one small action to rewrite your story. Your money mindset isn’t just shaping your income. It’s shaping your energy, your decisions, and your future. It's time to make sure it’s shaping them the right way. 👉 Let’s talk money mindset over on Instagram Follow The She Is Courageous Collective on Instagram for weekly inspiration and mindset tips that hit home. In this week’s episode of The She Is Courageous Podcast, I’m sharing something a little more vulnerable: what it’s really like when doubt hits hard and you find yourself thinking, “Maybe I should just give it all up.” I’ll talk about what actually happens in your brain in those moments, why your inner critic gets so loud, and how to start pulling yourself back out when it feels impossible. You’ll hear the three things I did to move through my own recent “I’m done” moment,  and how you can use them the next time life or business knocks you sideways. If you’ve ever questioned whether it’s worth it, this episode is your reminder that you are not alone, and you can come back stronger. #52 Menopause Changed Everything, Including Her Business with Special Guest: Claire Causton

My guest this week, Claire Causton shares with us her story and insight on leaving corporate life, building a styling business, facing crippling menopause symptoms, and courageously rebranding as The Menopause Stylist to empower midlife women. Claire Causton – The Menopause Stylist Claire Causton is the founder of The Menopause Stylist and a passionate advocate for helping women reclaim their confidence, identity and visibility during menopause. With a unique blend of style expertise and deep empathy, Claire transforms wardrobes—and mindsets—so that midlife women can step back into their power feeling bold, beautiful and unapologetically themselves. Through colour analysis, wardrobe resets and personal styling, she helps women navigate this chapter not with dread, but with joy, clarity and a renewed sense of self. This isn’t the end of your style story—it’s the bold new chapter where you take centre stage.   What happens when life throws you a curveball that completely shakes your identity? For Claire Ston, it was menopause. Overnight she went from confident business owner to doubting everything about herself — her work, her body, even who she was. In this episode, Claire (aka The Menopause Stylist) joins me to share the raw truth about her journey through perimenopause: the crippling self-doubt, the physical and mental symptoms no one warned her about, and the courage it took to shut down parts of her business. But this is also a story of reinvention. Claire didn’t stop there — she found her way back by “claiming her crown” and creating a brand that speaks directly to women navigating the same challenges. If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and not recognised the woman staring back, this conversation will remind you you’re not alone. And it will show you that courage doesn’t always look polished — sometimes it’s messy, sometimes it’s reckless, but it’s always worth it. Listen now and hear how Claire is helping women redefine confidence, style, and self-worth in midlife. CTA: Want more real talk and tools like this? #51 Be Honest .... Is AI Gradually Replacing Your Voice?

AI isn’t going anywhere. You’re probably already using it (I am too), and let’s be honest, it can be brilliant. But here’s the thing no one’s really talking about: what if your shiny new AI tool isn’t just saving you time … what if it’s slowly stealing your self-trust? In this episode, I’m digging into AI in all its glory as a tool, but also as a watch out.Yes, it’s efficient. Yes, it can help us feel more confident. But when you reach for AI before you’ve even given yourself a chance to think, when you’re quietly worried someone will “spot” the AI in your work, what’s really going on? This conversation isn’t about banning AI (you’d be a fool not to use it). It’s about noticing when self-doubt is disguising itself as “productivity” and remembering that your voice, your thoughts, and your perspective matter more than any prompt ever could. Listen in and check if AI is amplifying your brilliance, or quietly hijacking it.   👉 Want to explore this further?
