Astounding Project: Medical Help Anywhere on the Globe

Picture this: a medic in a remote region of the world is trying to help a patient. But the patient's problem is beyond the medic's education and experience. What should this nurse or doctor do? Operation Renewed Hope has developed an answer: using the StarLink system (or a regular internet connection), we are connecting medics with specialists in real time. Those specialists can ask the patient questions with the help of the nurse or doctor. The specialist's diagnosis is then shared with a doctor of record in the patient's country for ongoing treatment. As you can see, this is an astounding, pioneer work. Listen to this interview with Jan Milton to learn more about the ORH TeleMed project. The interview begins with Jan's explanation of our recent work in Jamaica after the devastation of Hurricane Melissa. He has worked very hard with families to provide building materials through the financial support of ORH. Currently, he is compiling needs of people in Jamaica.   It is so easy to see Jamaica for its tourism and to believe all benefit from this. The truth is that Jamaica is predominately made of working people getting by, day by day. Brother Anderson has proven himself faithful to help because these people have lost much. Pray for him. ORH asked him to help a village with the Christmas season, and ORH would provide the funds to do the ministry to the village.

Jamaica: Even the Yacht Club Can Be Used In A Disaster!

In this episode, Jan Milton gives us an update on the Operation Renewed Hope disaster relief efforts in Jamaica after the devastation of Hurricane Melissa. Click here to read the update and see videos from Pastor Cummings and Pastor Winston Nathan on the scene in Jamaica. https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Melissa---Sea-Hope-delivers-food-for-hardest-hit-area-.html?soid=1134023763267&aid=505Pdz1FZpc The circumstances in Jamaica are very difficult for the churches and people. Melissa created a path of destruction from which the average Jamaican might need years to recover.   One of ORH's best partners is Captain Buddy Puryear. He and his ministry Sea Hope has been faithful to be ready for every challenge. He and his volunteer crews deliver needed supplies during disaster and non-disaster situations Although many were attempting to deliver relief to the Jamaican people, Captain Puryear was doing so. From Puerto Rico, the Sea Hope sailed with 40,000+ pounds of cargo. Twelve thousand pounds of this cargo was for ORH to be delivered to Pastor Stan Cummings of Bayshore Baptist Church just outside of Kingston.

Pastor Gregory Watson, Pastor Ben Jackson, Pastor Oral Anderson, and Pastor David Pryce are designated to receive the cargo. Three have received their cargo; however, at the time of this update, Pastor Watson cannot be contacted. ORH always prizes those who agree to work through our plans  and support. Thank God for Pastor Pryce who donated his church storage space for housing, staging, an distribution. Pastor Oral Anderson has worked tirelessly getting ready to receive the donation at Montego Bay's Sangster International. Brother Lintz said that our cargo plane was the first to land with supplies. Thank God for A.J James who fought patiently to obtain clearance to fly into Jamaica to work there for ORH. Also, ORH is thankful to Kevin McCoy who flew in with the 737-cargo plane for ORH and was held in customs for three hours. Pray ORH has funds to express appreciation for all's willingness to labor in love. Much is left to be done. Pray all will go well as we take the Gospel to hundreds of people. How the Lord Led A Missionary to Bolivia

In this episode, we learn how the Lord led Kenneth Ellzey -- through significant trials -- to become a missionary in Bolivia. At ORH, we count it a privilege to be colaborers with Brother Ellzey. As you will hear in this podcast (and the next two), the Lord has given us a unique relationship that we have learned to treasure. Through our combined efforts, we have seen how the Lord has produced fruit for His glory in Bolivia. We see this as a direct application of Colossians 1:5-6 "For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;  Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: For more information about this episode, please see these updates: https://myemail.constantcontact.com/ORH---Bolivia--Maui--Vermont.html?soid=1134023763267&aid=hkEEWQe-3h8 and the first service for the new church planted as a result of the clinic https://myemail.constantcontact.com/ORH---Bolivia--Tajikistan--Maui.html?soid=1134023763267&aid=fQFdifsf2wI and  https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Bolivia--Peru--2025-Boot-Camp.html?soid=1134023763267&aid=X10Sij3WQe4 To learn more about Operation Renewed Hope, click here https://www.operationrenewedhope.org/

Responding to the Devastating Flood in Texas

On July 4, 2025 a violent flash flood crashed through the Guadalupe River valley in Kerr county, Texas. The flood waters rose more than 26 feet. One official reported that the area received so much rainfall that the same amount of water that would ordinarily go over Niagra Falls in a month and a half crashed through that narrow river valley in just 24 hours. Ultimately 21 counties were affected. At this writing, the death toll stands at 120 people Iincluding many children) with about 173 unaccounted for. Please pray for the churches and volunteers that will be working with Operation Renewed Hope and Nehemiah's Network to respond to this disaster. Ministering in Uganda near South Sudan

This is the last of a three part series describing the remarkable ORH mission trip to northeast Uganda. Serving the people who live near the border of South Sudan required arduous travel. But as you will hear, those who invested in the trip were richly rewarded with the knowledge that they were able to offer genuine hope and help.   For more, see https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Grace-in-Disaster-.html?soid=1134023763267&aid=Iwfkj8FVqQk   In 2023, missionary, Joe Risinger, contacted ORH about coming to his mission field of northwestern Uganda. Brother Risinger and his family are with Baptist World Mission in Decatur, AL. His board was gracious to recommend ORH for the purpose of reaching his field for Christ.   Brother Risinger wrote the following report about the ORH clinic.   "We praise God for the tremendous opportunity to host ORH in the West Nile region of Uganda for the very first time! It was such a blessing to see the team in practice, and see the love each team member showed to our local people. We prayed for fruit from this work, and got to see a total of 13 make the decision to put their faith in Christ! Most of these were Muslim; what a breakthrough! God has been good to us to provide ORH as a valuable partner in this work of advancing the gospel. Joe Risinger"   Such kind words are always refreshing. It has always been the purpose of ORH to fulfill our motto of "Touching the Heart...Reaching the Soul." If we help the body only, we fail the Gospel which heals the soul. We must touch the heart by the mercies of God and reach the soul with the Gospel of Christ.   Thank you, Baptist World Mission, Brother Risinger, and those who comprised the medical team. Thank all who give for the furtherance of the Gospel.

Missionary Joe Risinger continues to describe the remarkable ORH medical mission trip to help those who needed medical care in northeast Uganda, near the border with South Sudan.   https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Grace-in-Disaster-.html?soid=1134023763267&aid=Iwfkj8FVqQk   In 2023, missionary, Joe Risinger, contacted ORH about coming to his mission field of northwestern Uganda.

    News: Myanmar Earthquake Gospel Outreach

Dr. Jan Milton brings us up to date on the work of Operation Renewed Hope to send relief supplies to gospel-preaching churches in Myanmar. This report is being issued two weeks after the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake. Ast you will hear in this podcast, there have been many serious aftershocks. One of the relief teams experienced a magnitude 4.7 earthquake, even as they were delivering relief supplies to those who have already suffered so much. Please pray for our continuing efforts in Myanmar. To see the pictures and reports mentioned in this podcast, see the April 12, 2025 update located here: https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Myanmar-Earthquake.html?soid=1134023763267&aid=WxILdZPCIvE Here is an excerpt: ORH always seeks to help God's people recover from hardship and also to help the lost in time of hardship. Pastor Timothy has sent us further information on David Mang's church situation. Please read his assessment of the church needs.   "Dear Jan, I am reporting to you David' Mang's Building in Mandalay. We are working on it.   Pastor David Mang's three-story building in Mandalay was affected by the recent earthquake. The ground floor serves as the residence for the Mang family. The first floor is used as a worship center for the congregation, while the top floor serves multiple purposes, including Sunday school classes, Bible study sessions, and as a refreshment area.   The building's four main pillars have sustained significant damage — they are cracked and partially broken, posing a serious safety risk. These pillars urgently need to be repaired and reinforced with iron supports. I have attached some photos showing the current condition. Timothy"   ORH is going to meet the church need of $8000 to repair the damage to the columns of the church building. Pray for the other churches that are damaged and also pray for the need for food supplies. Many are without money to purchase what is needed.
