The conclusions may surprise you! Then the guys pivot to professing Christian ‘nice guy’ and seminary student James Talarico of Texas.  Talarico is a Democrat U.S. Senatorial candidate who stretches verbiage in the second century Gnostic gospel of Thomas to validate and promote current day LGBTQ and transgenderism issues. 

Join Bud for a special edition of 12:2 as he sits down with our good friend Cliff Sutton, Lead Elder of Jesus Like Jesus Ministries.  Cliff and Bud discuss the ramifications of the question ‘Why would a good God allow tough times and tough things to happen to good folks?’  Cliff gives us a really neat perspective on the answer to that question, as well as a good way to adjust the way we look at this matter, and others like it.

Here’s the latest release of the 12:2 Podcast.  Kevin and Bud talk about a number of things surrounding ‘Epic Fury’, the current United States and Israeli initiative against Iran.  What is the history here?  What are the reasons for the initiative? Why do we not hear anymore about the 30,000 plus protestors murdered by the Iranian regime?   

Kevin and Bud discuss Tuesday’s Presidential State of the Union address – at least for a few minutes, leading into a conversation about the definition, history and beauty of the American ‘Experiment’.  The guys talked about the ‘new’ line of demarcation between congressional members who seem to truly love America, and those who apparently don’t.  Unfortunately this line of demarcation seemed pretty obvious on Tuesday night.  Watch or listen and learn more about the origin of this dilemma, and why the Democrat Party seems to be on the wrong side of the line.

In this week’s podcast, Kevin and Bud discuss the latest controversy surrounding Bethel Church (Redding CA) and pastor Bill Johnson.  Using the label of ‘prophecy’, what happens when church ‘leaders’ decide to twist others into doing something that satisfies their own salacious motives?  How do people discern and resist?  The guys also speak a bit to other similar – but perhaps lower profile - situations that they have seen in the church.

So much of what we see as 'peaceful protests' in our nation can be tracedback to a few well-funded sources that want to deconstruct the existingcapitalist / federalist systems in order to erect structures that are grounded in Marxism / Socialism.  Join Kevin and Bud as they share some insights on what may be driving some of the chaos in Minneapolis with the opposition to the arrest and deportation of criminal illegal immigrants.

The recent history of deadly drug trafficking into the US, the theft through nationalization of almost an entire oil industry and other factors have led to the arrest of Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro.     Join Bud and his guest co-host Venezuelan native and Integrity member Omar Lugo, for part 2 of their discussion on the Venezuelan period of the 1990s and the early 2000s.  Omar takes us into an in-depth look at how Hugo Chavez, a smooth-talking and seditious leader imprisoned for leading a revolt against the Venezuelan government, was able to charm a country into giving him their votes.  From this newly acquired seat of power, he was able to complete the theft of the U.S. investment in the oil fields of this beautiful country - an investment that had made Venezuela one of the richest countries in the world.

The history of deadly drug trafficking into the US, the theft through nationalization of almost an entire oil industry and other factors have led to the recent arrest of Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro.     Join Bud and his guest co-host Venezuelan native and Integrity member Omar Lugo, as they take a look back at the history of this wonderful nation that used to be one of the richest per capita in the world.  Omar traces the nation’s ups and downs from as far back as the late 1800s, and bring us up to the late 1900s when the terms of presidents like Carlos Andrés Pérez and  Rafael Caldera naively set the stage for events that would lead to the authoritarian rule of both Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro.  Omar outlines the collapse of freedom and the national economy, as well as the rise of communism,  corruption, and an open border that would diminish a once strong national sense of morality.

Way back in the 4th century A.D. the birth of Jesus came to be celebrated on December 25 in order to align the Christmas celebration with pagan holidays and other celebrations that typically occurred around that time of year.  At least that us what many Christians think.  Is that really the case?  Well, maybe – and maybe not.  Kevin and Bud discuss  some obscure historical research that sheds some light on this important question.  Take a listen. In today’s podcast, the guys take on a topic that may seem a bit off-balance.  Actor turned Evangelist Kirk Cameron, a solid follower of Christ and teacher, made waves recently when he cited a shift in his belief about the afterlife.  Cameron noted a move away from the idea that those who die without Jesus exist eternally in torment in hell, toward the idea that ultimately, the unbeliever – their body, soul and spirit, is completely destroyed, and thus delivered from the suffering that would occur in hell. Kevin and Bud discuss some of the merits of both sides of this issue, and reveal why this is an important topic that Christians need to have an understanding of.

In today’s 12:2 podcast, Kevin and Bud give their thoughts on the ‘affordability crisis’ that seemed to drive so much of the November 5 voting, when so many democrats were swept into office.  They also tie this affordability crisis to the spiked inflationary pressures under the Biden administration, as well as the rise of socialism itself in the United States.  The fellows also dive into a discussion on inflation and why higher prices will not – and cannot – naturally dome down.  In response to all of this, Kevin shares some of the critical things that Christ-followers need to do in order to deal with this situation.

In the latest 12:2 Podcast, Kevin and Bud talk about some of the true motivation behind the lack of willingness of congress to work together to end the government shutdown, and to move forward the programs that folks truly need (as opposed to the many that we don’t need….) to get by in our society. The guys discuss the seeming lack of understanding of the motivations of Service and Power (nearly always opposing motivations),  and talk about how many start out with good intentions (service) but move toward power, the longer they are in elected positions.  They become co-opted, as Kevin says.  Our hosts close with some words on the current problem of the American economy being built on a very limited platform of banking and real estate, and how the work of the current administration is trying to reinstate sectors of manufacturing and high-end services, where real value can be created.

In this week’s 12:2 Podcast, Kevin and Bud look back at the original meanings and historical contexts of terms like Nationalism, Fascism and Socialism, and demonstrate how these words are continually being re-defined to fit whatever political target that progressives want to go after. For instance, the term ‘nationalism’ originated largely with movements like National Socialism in Germany (Nazi) and Italy. Progressivism now is even attempting to ‘reposition’ the meaning of word ‘patriotism’ to mean the same type of forceful, despotic ‘nationalistic’ leadership deployed by heads of state like Mussolini and Hitler. The guys even touch on how the current government shutdown is being by driven economic factors that have roots in some of these diabolical and historical movements.

In today’s edition of the 12:2 Podcast, Kevin and Bud offer their thoughts about the Charlie Kirk Memorial Service.  They share their key takeaways and most impactful moments from the event.  Plus - they wind up the conversation with a unique take on what it means to be truly ‘authentic’. In the next edition, the guys delve into some of the terms that tend to get thrown around these days to describing those who hold traditional / conservative values, like ‘fascist’, ‘racist’, ‘Marxist’, etc.

With a particular reference to the Charlie Kirk assassination, Kevin and Bud discuss the culture of extreme language perpetrated in our public discourse, and how it has obviously led to general incivility and blatant violence. The guys discuss how the terms typically used by the left against the right, i.e. Nazis, fascist, Hitler, etc. can inflame and bring many others to places of wanting to be heroes by ‘taking out’ those who are labelled accordingly. This ‘extreme language’ has been, for many years, a very big problem on our society.

Why is it that so many people who never even knew Charlie Kirk are grieving so deeply?  Could it be that Charlie, whose beliefs and practice were grounded in the truth of God’s Word, was able to marry that truth with today’s political movements? Could it be that Charlie had a way of talking to people that made them feel respected, even in disagreement?  Could it be that we saw much more influence in Charlie’s brief life than in the long lives of most people?  Maybe all of the above hold true? Kevin and Bud dive into the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, inserting into the equation the true spiritual (demonic) origin of this senseless attack.  They speak of the jubilant reactions of many who obviously hated Charlie for his beliefs and his message of truth and freedom.  And ultimately, they speak to the question of what may happen next.

"Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent", Adam SmithKevin and Bud discuss the Charlotte murder of 23 year old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska by 14 time felon DeCarlos Brown Jr. and the apparent ignoring of the story by the mainstream media. While occurrences like this are becoming more commonplace, news coverage of these things are not. What is the reason for this? The guys go deep into possible motives and causes of this alarming trend, and speak to the probable spiritual implications.

The 12:2 Podcast: The Cutoff Pt 2: War and the WordIn this week’s podcast, Kevin and Bud follow up last week’s episode with some clarification on the progressive strategy, deployed frequently in the world of counseling, of separating families over ‘little t’ trauma.  Kevin reminds us that in our world ‘sinners are being raised by sinners….’, and so even the best parents will make mistakes.  The guys also begin a conversation weaving together the current peace efforts around the Russian / Ukraine war, the question of whether we’re living in the Last Days before Jesus’ return,  and the theological view of war itself.

The "Cutoff" refers to how modern day progressivism uses counseling and other related disciplines to destroy family relationships. In this episode, Kevin and Bud explore the critical nature of family relationships, and the reality that in every family sinners are raised by sinners. Therefore, even well meaning, Christ-following parents won't always get it right. The guys discuss the modern day reframing by progressives, of the term 'Trauma', to make the term include sincere parental disciplinary and advisory initiatives. The result? Cutting off the family origin and the anchoring that comes with those family relationships.
