Raising Children for Christ Starts With the Gospel Welcome to Again Podcast — because what moms do over and over matters to God.In this powerful episode, Stephanie Hickox sits down with Betsy and David Corning to talk about the true foundation of Christian parenting: faith in Jesus Christ. What does it mean to be entrusted with children by God? How can moms faithfully point their children to Jesus in the ordinary, repetitive rhythms of motherhood? And what hope is there for parents who feel like they started too late?Together, this conversation explores the heart of biblical parenting, discipleship, and salvation—reminding weary moms that their children ultimately belong to the Lord, and that God faithfully works through imperfect parents who depend on Him.This episode also includes a clear Gospel presentation through the “Bridge Illustration,” walking step-by-step through Scripture to explain:Why we were created for relationship with GodHow sin separates us from HimWhy Jesus Christ is the only way to salvationWhat it means to repent and believeHow the Gospel transforms motherhood, marriage, and family lifeIf you’ve ever wondered:“Am I failing as a Christian mom?”“Is it too late to spiritually lead my family?”“How do I point my children to Jesus?”“What does faithful motherhood actually look like?”—this episode offers biblical encouragement, Gospel hope, and practical wisdom for everyday motherhood. In This Episode:What it means to be entrusted with children by GodWhy children ultimately belong to the LordParenting as stewardship, not ownershipEncouragement for moms who feel overwhelmed or discouragedWhy “godly parenting” begins with surrender to JesusHope for parents who were never discipled themselvesWhy it is never too late to spiritually lead your childrenThe power of prayer in motherhood and family lifeThe Bridge Gospel Illustration explained simplySalvation through grace by faith in Jesus Christ aloneKey Scriptures Mentioned:Psalm 127:13 John 1:41 Corinthians 3:11Genesis 1:27Isaiah 59:2Romans 3:23Romans 6:23Hebrews 9:27John 5:24Ephesians 2:8–9John 14:61 Peter 3:18Romans 10:91 John 5:11–12Revelation 3:20Perfect For:Christian moms seeking encouragementBiblical parenting conversationsMoms discipling children at homeChristian motherhood podcastsFamilies wanting Christ-centered homesWomen growing in faith while raising childrenMoms learning how to share the Gospel with their kidsIf this episode encouraged you, please subscribe, leave a review, and share Again Podcast with another mom who needs Gospel-centered encouragement today.Because what moms do over and over matters to God.Find out more about our favorite parenting study here: Entrusted with a Child's Heart!Dwelling Place Daily Bible Podcast for Christian Moms

#116. Do Christian Parents in a Digital Age Still Need to Know Where to Look in their Bibles? "Get the Word Out" Chapter Summary Statements with Author Betsy Corning
Today Author and Entrusted Ministries Founder Betsy Corning and I talk about another tool with our Bible study method, Get the Word Out. What's so great is that each of these tools help you think about the Word of God and understand it in a different way! Today, we're talking about chapter summary statements and chapter summaries because recently in my parenting, there was a situation with my son where he was struggling to honor an authority figure in his life. I wanted to guide him with the Word of God, and I was so thankful that I knew to pull out 1 Peter chapter 2 to display Jesus' submission to authority and tell my son what God's expectations of him were. I know I could have Googled it or pulled out my phone, but I think it would've completely distracted us from our conversation. We know you are so busy, but this might be a simple tool that you could enact to help you disciple your children well. We'll keep this episode nice and brief because we wanna equip you and help you get back to all the things!Interested in reading about Get the Word Out? #107. Why We Need to Remember "Train Up a Child In The Way He Should Go" Is a Proverb and Not a Promise with Biblical Counselors Krista and Bryan Ryndak
It's a verse every Christian parenting study points to... but is it a promise? We desperately want to believe we have that level of control, but how do we reconcile it with our experience that many godly families have prodigal children? This episode draws a clear distinction between our role and God's role, what surrender looks like, what faithfulness looks like, and how we know when we're being controlled by our hopes for our kids to follow Christ.
